Daily Update, March 19, 2025

On Wednesday, the exterminators who treated the house for roaches came back for a second treatment. I told him I'm still seeing at least one half-sized roach by my computer.  I mainly watch there, so can't say they weren't elsewhere. He treated that part particularly carefully. He treated the rest too. {Smile}

Then, midafternoon, I got a phone call from a friend. We chatted for a while. It was nice to hear from him. {Smile}

A while after dinner, I did my ten walking exercises that don't absolutely require a rest the next day. My main nurse monitored me while I did them. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I began writing Tuesday's daily update before lunch. I played Cros Stitch World during lunch because it's easier to use a mouse than type while eating. Then I wrote the rest of Tuesday's daily update, with breaks for web comics. After that, I got the phone call from my friend. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I got together with Pierogies, Kitten, and a new friend Pierogies introduced from his new supergroup. We talked, then did a couple of my missions. Then Pierogies and the new friend left, but the new friend stayed long enough to establish long-term connections despite that being greatly slowed on my end. After they left, I got sidetracked by paperwork. When I tried to get back to playing the game, Kitten didn't respond. So, I talked with Nox on the chat server a little and checked with Ulty about something for Nox. I went to dinner right when called. {Smile}

After dinner, I made notes in this and played Cross Stitch World. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started on paperwork. I said hi to Ulty and Jenny's Player, and learned they were starting a farm. I joined them and exercised while they farmed. After I was done, I went back to sort of farming with them and definitely visiting with them. I also made some notes in this and talked a little with Nox on the chat server, but Nox soon went to bed. When the farm broke up, I did some paperwork. Then I began talking with Phonso and making more notes in this. I joined Phonso for a set of three trials. Another friend joined us, and some of the others who joined us are acquaintances because they join these often. We ran the trials. Then I talked with one player whose character hit the maximum level during the last trial. I gave them some spare cash to help them develop their character. Then I did some paperwork. I chatted briefly with Kitten in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I also made notes in this and did some web browsing before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 18, 2025

 On Tuesday, after breakfast, my relief nurse took me to the monthly meeting. Despite neither of us being quite certain where the park it was at is, we got there without a misturn. I went in straight away, but my relief nurse said he had a phone call and would join us later. The meeting was really nice, though my relief nurse barely came to drop off pamphlets. I enjoyed talking with everyone, and the food was good, though it had little protein. Afterwards, my relief nurse said between the phone call being really long, and a couple of errands, he just didn't have time to join us, but he will in the future. After the meeting, we went home. {Smile}

A while after dinner, I did my arm resistance exercises, three of my arm weight training exercises, my arm swinging exercises, and my other three arm weight training exercises while my relief nurse monitored me. {Smile}

After I got home, I had half a lunch, since the spread at the meeting was low enough on protein that I really needed more. Then I browsed the web and read web comics. Then I wrote up Monday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I checked with Ulty, and joined the meeting of the adolescent supergroup, where folks were roleplaying. In-character, I suggested doing some of my stuff Since it seemed to be another light week. I didn't think it was the best choice for doing something that Ulty had worked hard on. We did the first of two official story arcs. I made third story arc to follow them myself. Only one got done that day; we were too close to dinner to do another; we'd just have to stop in the middle. So, we just roleplayed until I left for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed on the web, then exercised with the nurse monitoring it. Then I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found that the adolescent supergroup meeting was still going on, so I joined them. We roleplayed together. They left one by one, heading out as it got late for them. After that, I joined Phonso for a trial on my sixth best badge collector. I started making notes and writing in this while waiting to start. It collected slowly, then mostly fell apart. We were back to three members, but Phonso recruited more. Then we ran the full set of three trials, though each had a smaller team between some reaching bedtime and others not having a character high enough level for the next trial. After the third trial, we said goodnight. Then I did some paperwork, both on my sixth-best badge collector, and on the member of the adolescent supergroup, who's moderately low-level but getting higher. Next, I began to play by myself on a low-level character. I paused to make more notes in this, before doing one more mission on the low-level character. Then I finished making notes in this, with a break for some more web browsing. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 17, 2025

On Monday, after breakfast, my relief nurse and I went around town to do several errands. The most notable one for me was getting a Kupuna Card at the Office of Aging, since you only have to be 55 to get one, and I'm 56. I also asked into help with signing up to disability with the federal government. The relief nurse volunteered that he'd hired a lawyer for that, but the fellow at the Office of Aging suggested contacting Social Security and seeing if they can help me. I'll consider both, but I think Social Security sounds more promising. {Smile}

I didn't get any exercise done. By the time I thought to, my relief nurse had gone to bed, so he couldn't monitor it. My main nurse doesn't really count unmonitored exercise, so I just didn't bother. {Smile}

After the errands I had lunch. Then after lunch I browsed the web and wrote up Sunday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. I talked with Pierogies, and learned he was in a supergroup meeting that he was really enjoying. I'm so glad he found a group he clicks with. I joined two high-level taskforces on my third best badge collector, trying for that hard-to-get badge I've mentioned. I didn't get it this time, either. After that, with encouragement form pierogies, I joined the later long, large-group event. Pierogies joined partway through, after his meeting was over. After that event, Pierogies, Dennis and I teamed up on middle-leveled villains for two or three missions. The last ran into dinner, but I managed to finish the mission. Then I dashed off with a hasty goodbye. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed the web and read web comics. Then I checked on main nurse, thinking I might exercise, but he was already asleep. So, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I chatted with Ulty and Jenny's player and joined them in chatting out-of-character in a role-playing venue until Jenny's player left for bed. Ulty apologetically left to join a friend she'd promised to join earlier. I did more paperwork until Mollymauk, a streamer on Twitch, invited me to a player-made mission. Then Phonso invited me to the first of the set of three trials I did the day before. I finished the mission with Mollymauk, and joined Phonso on a full team ready to start. We ran that trial and the next two, too. Then we said goodnight, and Phonso promised a similar but different set of trials the next day. I did paperwork next, then browsed on the web, including looking into the government's Disability. I'm really not so sure I'll qualify for that, but I know I won't if I don't try. I also did more paperwork on City of Heroes: Homecoming, and dashed off notes in this, with no time for any real writing before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 16, 2025

On Sunday, after breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. We got there during the announcements. I sat with my main nurse, since Auntie Barbara is busy, and Michelle doesn't come without her, not being Christian. Afterwards, I had lunch on the church's lanai. I sat with my main nurse and several other parishioners. It was a good feed, though I forgot the nuts again. After lunch, my main nurse brought me home. {Smile}

Rather late in the evening, I did my standing leg exercises and my four high knees walking exercises. Those are the lower body exercises that need a break day after them to recuperate. {Smile}

At home, I wrote up Saturday's daily update. Then my main nurse helped me clean myself up. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I got together with Dr. Faustus just as Pierogies said hi. So, he joined us, too. The three of us ran that story arc that Dr. Faustus and I had so much trouble with a couple of nights ago, the one my villain in the supergroup wanted to do. Now that we could get help if it gave trouble, it worked without issue. After that story arc, I paused for Kitten to join us, since the way we were doing this doesn't allow adding after we've started a story arc. The four of us ran the story arc that follows, the last of eight story arcs that together tell the story of a zone, the only zone to have so many story arcs telling a single story. After the second story arc, Dennis joined us just before Dr. Faustus and Pierogies left, both tired from doing two story arcs in a row, which took most of three hours. Kitten, Dennis, and I ran a mission that starts the transition to another zone, which I could do in the normal fashion that allows me to add folks after we've begun, not that I had occasion to this time. This mission was long, and ran into dinner, but we finished. Then I said goodnight-in-case and rushed off to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I rushed back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. Dennis was already gone, but Kitten was still around. We teamed up and ran the second and last mission of the transition to a new zone. My villain will continue to do stuff at her level now. Then I switched to a moderately high-level hero, and Kitten and I did a few of her missions before Kitten admitted they were tired enough, they'd probably fall asleep soon. So, we said goodnight, and I did my exercises. Then I came back to some paperwork. I also said goodnight to Nox without really talking. After the paperwork, I joined a trial. I ran it and two sequels to it, which the leader did all in a row. Divi was in at least part of it, so we talked briefly. After the third trial, I did paperwork on a few characters. Then I started to do an individual mission by myself. I broke to make notes and write in this, then went back to finish the individual mission. I followed that with some paperwork and a little shopping on Amazon before I finished making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 15, 2025

On Saturday after lunch, my housekeeper came. It was nice to see her, and the house is better for her attentions. {Smile}

While she was here, my main nurse took me to the public library to return two books. When we got there, I discovered they were hosting a bonsai show, so I had to look at all the bonsai. I also browsed a bookcase of books for sale and picked up two cheap. Then my main nurse took me on a scenic drive around town before we went back home. {Smile}

At home, we found the housekeeper delighted that we had come back just after she'd finished cleaning our areas, so she was out of our way. {Smile}

I didn't do any special exercise, since it was the day after physical therapy. Walking around the library did a little, but not all that much. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browse d the web, played Cross Stitch World, and read web comics until lunch. Then I played more Cross Stitch World and began writing Friday's daily update up until our trip out. When we got back, I finished writing up Friday's daily update with too many breaks for Cross Stitch World and web browsing, but I finally did get it done. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I said hi to Kitten, Ulty, and Jenny's Player. I talked with Ulty and Jenny's Player a little, before I realized that Kitten was in the later long, large-group event. I joined them when they were past all the special stuff at the beginning, but I played long enough to get a decent amount of stuff. After that I teamed up with Kitten for two missions Dennis joined us at the end of the second, so i squeezed in a third before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I watched a video before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I joined Dennis and Kitten in a mission just before the end. Dennis and I were both disappointed that it was Dennis's last mission for the evening, but he really needed to get to bed. At least we did get to talk a bit before he left. Then Kitten and I ran a few missions, the last of which they fell silent in, doubtlessly falling asleep like they so often do. I finished by myself, which was tricky but not impossible. Next, I did some paperwork while I talked with Ulty and Jenny's player. Then I waited for Jenny's player to start a farm. When she did, I joined them and another friend of theirs. Ulty left after a couple of missions. The friend left after two or three more. Jenny's Player left after yet another. After that, I did paperwork, and played by myself on another character, first hunting, then doing an individual mission. After that, I hurriedly made notes before bed. I had no time for any real writing. {Smile}

Daily Update March 14, 2025

On Friday, late in the morning, my main nurse took me to physical therapy. It was a good session. My main nurse met me out front afterwards and took me pretty much straight home in time for lunch. {Smile}

My exercise was my physical therapy today, and yes, they worked me pretty well. I think I did enough for a couple of days there. {Smile}

Between breakfast and physical therapy, I mainly had time to get ready to go. After lunch, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I began writing up Thursday's daily update. This took longer than usual because some of it wasn't easy to write. I was still not quite finished when I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late for me. I started with paperwork, then finished Thursday's daily update. I came back to see Dr. Faustus had just told me that the villain supergroup meeting had been called off, and he'd be back to help me with my character in my evening. So, I did some more paperwork until Pierogies and Kitten said hi. The three of us teamed up and did a mission and a hunt together before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read web comics and played Cross Stitch World before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork and talked with Ulty and Jenny's Player. I joined them in some individual missions, along with a friend of theirs. Dr. Faustus joined us too. Then Ulty and Jenny's Player's friend left. A mission or two later, Ulty and Jenny's Player left. Remembering Dr. Faustus's promise to help my character in the villain supergroup, I switched to that character. We tried to run the next story she had that he'd mentioned helping me with earlier. However, the first mission jammed. We couldn't find a way to complete it, and we went all over it a few times looking. So, we tried again, but the same thing happened. even though we tried everything we could think of to complete it, and Dr. Faustus works with computers enough to think of a lot more ways that I did. We decided to get together another day and try it when we can get help if it jams again. To wind down, I played Cross Stitch World and read web comics. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming for some paperwork. I ran into an old friend who now streams on Twitch under the name Sonarr__ specifically at http://twitch.tv/Sonarr__   If you check them out, they ask that you mention that I sent you. They know me best as Anka, the first character of mine they met. They say their next stream will be Tuesday morning, 5am central. We chatted while I made notes and wrote in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 13, 2025

On Thursday, I had counselling after breakfast. It was going well when the nursing company secretary and nursing company owner came in. They said they didn't mean to interrupt and went to talk with my main nurse until I done. I guess. I think I told the secretary I had counselling at ten, but I guess they didn't realize it lasted an hour. {smile}

I met afterwards with the owner, the secretary, and a bit with my main nurse for a long talk. They didn't agree at all with my assessment that I could take over some chores which are all complimentary for 24-hour care/ They didn't want to discuss a shorter arrangement except to insist it's very premature and would court disaster. So, I'll just have to find some other solution. They do talk like this could end with me living independently. If that worked, that could solve just about everything, but I've needed help so long, it's hard to envision. Too often, folks help me for a while, then declare they've set me up to continue on by myself... so I try, and manage for a while, but less than two years later, it all comes crashing down, and I get to pick up the pieces without their help. Often, it's not even one year. {sigh}

After dinner, I did the ten walking exercises which don't require a break the next day. My nurse was satisfied with that. {Smile}

After the meeting, I immediately had lunch. Then I did some web browsing and began writing up Wednesday's daily update until I got ready to run some errands. The first stop was picking up two library books I'd ordered. Then my main nurse and I stopped at a couple of banks before we went back home. Then I wrote more of Wednesday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I finished Wednesday's daily update, and Pierogies said hi. He and I chatted and ran a mission together. Then I got called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read a web comic and began making notes in this before I exercised. Then I wrote and made more notes in this before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork and prepared to solo on a couple of high-level characters. Then Phonso said hi, so I joined him instead. We ran the taskforce we had so much trouble with the night before, this time with a full team instead of just over half full. We handled the last battle much better. Afterwards, Phonso left, so I did some paperwork then ran a mission on each of the two high-level characters I'd been prepared to play earlier. Then I did more paperwork, read some web comics, and browsed on the web. After that, I ran a mission on the moderately low-level character I'd played with Pierogies before dinner. Then I finished notes in this around working on tests for my counselor. I also played Cross Stitch World and watched a video. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 12, 2025

On Wednesday, in the morning and early afternoon, I called the nursing company secretary a few times. I asked about rates if I take on the chores and/or have the housekeeper do them when we shift to hourly. I specifically asked for the rates with and without cooking dinner, because I'm wondering about my abilities to keep that going. She said she'd talk to the owner and get back to me. She was concerned about how I was feeling. I'm feeling fine. I'm just trying to figure out how to keep up the nursing without breaking my budget. I hoped I could do a bit more by taking back the household chores. I was also looking forward to feeling like I was accomplishing things with those chores. If I can lower my rates, too, so much the better for feeling accomplished. I put that in the past tense because things already make that look less feasible. {smile}

After dinner, I did two of the walking exercises that I need rest days after. Then I did my eight standing leg exercises, which need a similar rest. I finished with the other two walking exercises I'll need a rest day after. My main nurse is quite impressed. He thought he'd be pushing me to do more, but he thinks that was enough. {relieved Smile}

Around the phone calls I mainly played Cross Stitch World. I also browsed on the web a little pretty much up to lunch. After lunch I played more Cross Stitch World. Then I cleaned myself up with my main nurse's help. After the bath I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming later than I hoped. I started with paperwork. then joined the later long, large-group event, and ran it. We got done in time to do a bit more paperwork before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read web comics before I did my exercises. Then I wrote and made notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, and talking with Jenny's Player and Ulty. Then I broke to make more notes in this and read more web comics. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming for more paperwork. After that, I prepared to play by myself with the gal I thought was my 9th best badge collector, but I just discovered the pack caught up with her, so, she's part of the pack now. Before I really got going, Phonso invited me to a taskforce. The new friend I met and made long-term contact with recently joined too. I also talked a bit with Nox on the chat server. Phonso, my other friend and I, and a couple of others waited a long time for the taskforce to fill, but it was stuck at five members. Phonso eventually decided to go anyway. It was fine until the last big fight, but then we had more trouble. Then again, I've had a fuller team have more trouble and still pull through. We did eventually get it, which was quite satisfying when done. After that, Phonso left, and I talked with my new friend a bit. when she left, I did some paperwork, then broke to make more notes in this. Then I played by myself on a couple of high-level characters, pausing occasionally to make notes in this and browse the web.

Daily Update, March 11, 2025

On Tuesday my relief nurse and I went out for an errand around the middle of my morning. Then we came back home to get an envelope and went right back out to mail it, /after that, we came back for lunch. {Smile}

I didn't get any exercise in on Tuesday. I simply remembered too late. I'm disappointed in myself, though I can afford two or three days without exercise a week. Saturday needs to be one of them because I'm tired from physical therapy then. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed the web, then got ready to go do errands with my relief nurse. After we got home and had lunch, I wrote up Monday's update with breaks for Cross Stitch world and web browsing. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started with paperwork. I said hi to Kitten, Ulty and Jenny's player. Ulty and Jenny's player invited me to a low-level taskforce. I secured a spot for Kitten and let them know. Then I got the Hobbit in the teen group, and joined them, as kitten already had. I wasn't quite certain it was the Hobbit's meeting until we'd started, but I think it was. We ran the taskforce, and then we ran the sequel taskforce. We ended slightly late for dinner, but I warned the relief nurse, who adjusted as he could. I squeezed in a little badge collecting before going to still warm tacos. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten, Ulty, and Jenny's Player together in a farm with some of Ulty's and Jenny's player's friends and joined them. Kitten left after one mission, saying they were tired. We did a few more missions before the team broke up. Then I did paperwork. I also talked with Nox on the chat server. Phonso invited me to a strike force. I stopped the paperwork to join him, and we ran it. Next, I a trial with him. Then I said goodnight to Phonso and Nox. I did some paperwork and badge collecting. Then I talked with someone on Discord and rushed to make notes in this before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 10, 2025

On Monday, when I was settling into City of Heroes: Homecoming to team with Kitten, the lights blinked, my computer and screen turned off on their own, and the battery backup started squealing an alarm. I figured out how to turn the battery backup off and on, but it didn't help. The alarm started up whenever I turned it back on, and nothing else would turn on. While I was figuring this out, the relief nurse complained that the Wi-Fi was out. So, I got him to take me down to Office Max, where I picked out another modest battery backup. {Smile}

Then we went back home, and the relief nurse removed the old battery backup and plugged in the new one. I plugged the rest of the stuff back into it myself, and things worked fine again after that. {Smile}

I walked around Office Max some to pick out and get that new battery backup. Then a while after dinner, I did my salsa dancing warmup set. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played Cross Stitch World a little. Then I wrote up Sunday's daily update. After that, I played more Cross Stitch World. I also read web comics and browsed on Amazon until lunch. After lunch, I talked with my relief nurse. Then I browsed the web until I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started with paperwork. Then I began to play by myself until Kitten said hi. We teamed up and were just starting to hunt and hoping to do a regular mission together when the internet went out. That prompted the trip to get a new battery backup. When we got back and I got set up and turned the computer back on, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Kitten was on a full team, so I played by myself and chatted with Kitten until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I started making notes in this. Then I danced. Next, I chatted with Kitten on the chat server and made more notes and wrote in this. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started talking with Kitten while I worked on paperwork. Next, Kitten and I got together and ran a long, moderately low-level mission. After the mission they went quiet. They faded out just before Pierogies said hi. Pierogies and I ran the last mission in that story arc. During that mission, Phonso said hi, and invited me to do that new seasonal mission - last day this season, I believe. I said I'd finish the mission and that Pierogies planned to head to bed afterwards. Eventually I finished the mission. I meant to tell Phonso I was switching to join, but either I messed that up, or he missed it because he complained that I either shouldn't have left or should have said something. He'd filled the team in the meantime. I was disappointed and explained that I thought I'd said I was switching, but I do understand that it's bad to kick someone off to make room for another. I still moved to where he was working from, and a space opened up sooner than I expected. I joined him and ran the mission several times, getting all the badges, as did two of Phonso's, since he'd started earlier. Then Phonso left. I did some paperwork and made notes in this. Then I played by myself on the low-level character I'd played earlier, doing a talk-mission that followed what Kitten, Pierogies and I did. Next, I hunted some badges on her. After that, I made notes in this, and checked some characters to make sure their badges are accruing properly. I also read web comics and played Cross Stitch World. Then I did a mission by myself before finishing notes in this and talking to Kitten. {Smile}
