Daily Update, April 8, 2025

Tuesday was quiet. I mainly stayed home. However, I did get very distracted when a program or two complained yet again about outdated drivers and other problems. I remembered being able to update things on earlier computers, but I didn't find stuff in similar places on my computer. I did find a program I'd gotten off the internet that almost worked but not quite. This kept me busy both before and after lunch until I finally turned to City of Heroes: Homecoming {smile}

While in there, I fiddled some more and got an upgraded and not-too-expensive upgrade that fixed all the non-upgrade issues. It even fixed the first upgrade, though it forced me to restart my computer. I left it after that until much closer to bed. {smile}

I tried again at bedtime. Most of the complaints failed, but a few did fix, or possibly disappeared instead of fixing. I won't complain; I'm down to nine outdated drivers from an initial fourteen, which I'll count as an improvement. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise Tuesday. I was enough more tired after the second dance class yesterday than I usually am after physical therapy, I had no doubt that I had fully earned a day off. {Proud Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed on the web until I got annoyed by programs asking about updating drivers and looked into it. I paused for lunch, then continued looking into updating drivers until I realized it was getting late to catch Div in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I caught Div as he were getting ready to leave. Then Kitten caught me, wanting help with a badge that that required a mission they were too high to get. However, Div wanted to show me the progress with the base, so I checked that out first. The courtyard now is attached to a tower with a few more rooms than stories. I think this is great progress for the two days since I last saw it. After I said goodbye to Div, I joined Kitten. I got a character the right level to get the mission they wanted. As I was getting the character, Ulty invited me to a four-character trial, but I declined because I'd promised to help Kitten, and they'd asked first. Besides, they were so excited, they were making me excited, too. So, Kitten and I figured out what mission we needed and ran it. Kitten got their badge. I got it, and another badge I wasn't completely aware that character lacked.

I checked with Ulty about the teen supergroup meeting, and learned it was starting soon. So, when Kitten and I had the badges, I switched and joined the supergroup. When I got there, they swiftly started a taskforce known for being long, but low-level. Being moderately low-level, my character was right in the range for it. I let her gain two levels before turning off experience points to keep from out-levelling content. Partway through, my main nurse warned me dinner was early. I explained that the task force was threatening to run late. He asked how late. I said twenty minutes to half an hour, but that was far too optimistic. A giant monster fight in it lasted longer than usual, but more than that, I distinctly underestimated how long the last mission was. I left as soon as it was done, but I was half an hour late to dinner. Thankfully, my relief nurse assured me he doesn't mind if that happens occasionally. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Sunday's daily update. with break to play Cross Stitch World and read a web comic. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming just as the teen SG meeting was breaking up. I said goodnight to Ulty and hi to Kitten. I teamed up with Kitten. As I was trying to decide what to do, Phonso invited us to a strike force. We joined it and ran it. I also chatted a little with Nox on the chat server. After the strike force, I debated what to do next while Kitten and I fought some critters from an April Fool's event in the zone the strike force ended in until I decided to play the character Kitten is making for me. We did a couple of missions before Kitten went quiet then faded out. I did some paperwork and began making notes in this. Then I took a break and spent more time playing Cross Stitch World than I meant to spend and about the right amount of time doing paperwork for the two lower-level characters I played that day. The strike force was on a high-level character who still has paperwork. Next, I spent more time than meant to reading a friends' group on the chat server before I finished making notes in this. {Smile}
