Daily Update, June 23, 2025

 On Monday after breakfast, I paid off my smartphone for the month so I could use it to call and text. Then I called my financial adviser. She was in a meeting but soon called back. We talked about the drained bank account. It looks like I can hope it will be fixed sooner rather than later. We also talked about starting a similar account, so I have a backup if something like this happens again. {smile}

After the call, I took a ride with my relief nurse. We just did a few errands, but it got me out of the house and gave us time to talk. {Smile}

Also, the gal helping me through the discernment for Daughters of the King came in the afternoon. We had a good session, getting one chapter done well. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise again, but my relief nurse and the head of the nursing company made big plans for the next day, so I didn't worry too much. {Smile}

On the ride, I played some Cross Stitch World when I wasn't talking with my relief nurse. When we came home, we had lunch/ Then I wrote up some of Sunday's daily update, taking short breaks to play Cross Stitch World and read web comics. Next, I browsed on the web a little until the gal came for discernment. After she left, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I did paperwork. I talked with Ulty, Jenny's Player, and Nyxy, especially with Ulty, as we firmed up plans for the next day's teen supergroup meeting. After that, I squeezed in a mission by myself before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing up Sunday's daily update, with short breaks for web browsing. Then I joined Dennis in City of Heroes: Homecoming, where we did another new story arc. The_Cyberchill joined us for the last couple of missions while streaming under that name on Twitch. Dr. Faustus said hi, too. Also, I talked with Nox on the chat server. After the story arc, Dennis left, and The_Cyberchill and I joined Dr. Faustus, and did the next story arc with my low-level villain supergroup member. The_Cyberchill left after a hunt, but Dr. Faustus and I did the whole story arc, with a couple of breaks for me to improve my character, who's going up in level for a while. We barely started the next contact before I realized I need to stop and make notes in this. Though I did talk a bit with Dr. Faustus before and while making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 22, 2025

On Sunday, my main nurse took me to church after breakfast. We got there during the sermon again. I didn't spot Auntie Barbara, so I sat with my main nurse near our usual spot. Auntie Barbara was there, and didn't spot me either. We found each other after the service. I started to sit with her, but the Daughters of the King were having an informal meeting, and I joined them. {Smile}

Afterwards, Auntie Barbara and I went to visit Charlotte, a friend from church who doesn't get out now. At first, I was in my main nurse's car, but I got confused about which road her house is on. We found it after I switched to Auntie Barbara's car. We had a nice visit with a lot of talk where each of us joined in at times. We also had a long chat with Charlotte's daughter afterwards. She's stressed with caregiving for her mother, and I have to agree it's stressful. I felt it with my mom, even with the nurses doing most of the care. Then Auntie Barbara took me home. {Smile}

I thought a lot about the conversation afterwards, and finally texted Auntie Barbara about it. That stopped my thoughts from going in circles, just like I hoped. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise. I hope that's okay the day after a good walk. {Smile}

After church I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World much longer than I meant to. I kept thinking about that conversation, and Cross Stitch World is very playable while thinking. Eventually, I texted Auntie Barbara about it, breaking that loop of thought, just before cleaning myself up with the help of my main nurse. When I was done, I made notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late, especially for Sunday, when I usually get in early. I started with paperwork and said hi to Kitten. We got together, but Kitten was distracted, so I started collecting badges in the newly finished zone. However, the system I was using stopped working after only two badges, when I hoped for seven plus one. Then Kitten joined me, and Jag joined us at Kitten's invitation. My main nurse called me to dinner before we got anything started, but neither promised not to be sleeping when I got back, so I ran one quick individual mission with then. Then we said goodbye, and I went to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I made notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I found Kitten and Jag not far from where I left them. We teamed up, but Jag was leaving for bed, so he and I just said goodnight. Then Kitten and I started another new story arc. Michiel joined us as we were starting, and Dennis joined us not long after that. We did that story arc all the way through, hoping for at least one badge each. As the mission holder, I got one, but no one else did. Everyone was disappointed, including me.  I promised to run it with them, or to understand if they ran it without me. That was right before Michiel and Dennis left for bed. Near the end of that story arc, Dr. Faustus asked about teaming up. I'd told him to wait until we were done with the story arc. I asked Kitten if they wanted to come, but they were too tired, and left for bed, too. I switched to my low-level villain supergroup member and joined Dr. Faustus. We finished the last villain contact who tops out at my level. Then Dr. Faustus suggested doing a set of four hero story arcs, saying we could use to explain stuff in roleplaying. Those story arcs happen to be favorites of mine, so I happily agreed. We did the first contact all the way through. Then Dr. Faustus realized he had to leave. We agreed to get together again after I sleep and such. I did some paperwork and badge hunting. Then I made notes in this and played a little Cross Stitch World before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 21, 2025

On Saturday, a while after lunch, my main nurse and I went out. After a couple of errands, we stopped at Liliu'okalani Gardens, where I walked around the park. We stopped at the Ice Cream Parlor for a popsicle. I got guava cream, and so did my main nurse when the gal cut the bag open wrong the first time. He took that one, though I tried to say it was easy to fix. Then we went back to the car with a short detour to admire the fishing pier. It took me a little over half an hour. When we were done, my main nurse took me home, with a stop or two on the way. {Smile}

That was my exercise for the day, and I really enjoyed it. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed on the web and played a little Cross Stitch World until I began writing up Friday's daily update. I still took breaks for Cross Stitch World and browsing the web. I also had lunch in there. When the daily update was done, I did a bunch of paperwork on City of Heroes: Homecoming before we went out. On the ride, I played some Cross Stitch World, then started just looking out the window enjoying the scenery because my phone's battery was low. When I got back, I played more Cross Stitch World and made notes in this. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I said hi to Kitten, and we teamed up on our high-level characters to continue the brand-new story arc. Pierogies joined us a mission or two in, and Dennis joined us shortly thereafter. There was lots of talking in the story arc, which I do like to read and share with my friends when we play. We stopped for dinner, with me promising to continue when all four can get together again. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and made notes in this/ then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. I said hello to Kitten, but they didn't answer. They were probably sleeping, with their character farming while they did. Yes, farming while away is a thing in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I got ready to play by myself on the teen supergroup member. Then Dr. Faustus said hi -- I didn't spot him when I said hi to Kitten. I switched to the low-level villain supergroup member, and he helped me through much of my content, mostly on a moderately low-level character. I finished a second contact at this level, and started the last contact whose top level is my level. Then Phonso said hi and invited us to a trial during the second or third mission from that last contact. Dr. Faustus and I finished the mission we were in and joined him on high-level characters. We ran that trial, and a second, both with the teams Phonso recruited. Then Dr. Faustus left. Phonso and I ran a third trial with a team he recruited. Then he left, too. I did paperwork. Then I made notes in this. Next, I did more City of Heroes: Homecoming paperwork and played Cross Stitch World, before finishing with a couple more notes. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 20, 2025

On Friday. after breakfast, my main nurse took me out. First, we went to Kamana Senior Center, and I signed up for the two new classes I've been eyeing. The last time I went, they'd strongly recommended that I try them first. However, my nurse stopped there, and with us at the desk, they signed me up. this does secure a spot, though neither was really close to full. {Smile}

Then we went to Safeway. I picked up two medications, and learned Mom's checking account is temporarily drained. Thankfully I had the cash for the medications. Then I picked out a sandwich for lunch. Which my main nurse was going through the line, I called my financial advisers about the drained account. one of the assistants took a message, promising to work on it. Thankfully after I got into the car, I got a call from my financial adviser herself. I am so grateful it was more private when I talked with her. She's going to fix this, but it involves juggling and will take some time. My main nurse took me home during and after the call. {Smile}

My only exercise was walking around at the senior center and Safeway, but that's some exercise. I wasn't completely sedentary. {Smile}

On the trip out, I read a book and played Cross Stitch World when I wasn't actually doing an errand or on the phone with my financial adviser or her office. When I got back, I had lunch while playing more Cross Stitch World and browsing on the web. this carried right into the afternoon until I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming because of the villain supergroup meeting. I went into the game early, but stepped away to get myself ready, and was late to the actual meeting. Only four of us were there, including Dr. Faustus, the leader, another regular member, and myself. We roleplayed, then started one of the new villain story arcs to test it for play when we have more members together. Then broke early, because the leader and the other regular player were leaving. Only Dr. Faustus and I stayed. He helped me work through some of my new member's missions until dinner, running slightly into that time.

After dinner, I wrote up Thursday's daily update, taking a few breaks to play Cross Stich World. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I didn't find Dr. Faustus on, so I got my teen supergroup member out. I said hi to Kitten, Ulty and Jenny's player. Kitten said they were tired, having missed a planned nap. Then they went quiet. I hope they got some much-needed sleep. I talked at some length with Ulty while I did three missions by myself to finish a contact. Then Dr. Faustus invited me to team up, with me on the new villain supergroup member again. We did quite a few of my missions, finishing up one contact, and doing the biggest part of another contact before I needed to get ready for bed. I was getting ready to make notes when Pierogies said hi. I showed him some costumes I'd made the day before for the new villain supergroup member. Then we talked on the chat server while I made notes in this. then I went to bed a bit late again. {smile}

Daily Update, June 19, 2025

On Thursday, in the afternoon, my main nurse took me to Liliu'okalani Gardens. Our first stop was the Ice Cream Parlor, where I got a chocolate fudge popsicle. I started walking while starting to eat it. I was still not as energetic as usual, though I felt mostly back to normal otherwise, so I only managed a 25-minute walk, but my nurse and I were both happy. I think it's more than I could have handled Tuesday or Wednesday. After that walk, my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

That was my exercise, and it's wonderful to get back to doing some exercise, even if it was less than often. Even better was having the energy to do that. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. during that web browsing, I ran across a book from Baen and started reading their free sample. That included five full chapters - Baen is particularly generous with their free samples - so it took me right through lunch and well into the afternoon, right up to our trip out. When we get back, I sorted out some things on Amazon. Among other things, I started to move things to the wish list that really should have been there right along. then checkout cart is not really made for that. I think I wrote up Wednesday's daily update, too. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I said hi to Austin and Kitten. I talked briefly with Austin and teamed up with Kitten. I picked a new contact from the menu Kitten suggested. We did two missions before I confirmed that it was an individual mission giver. At that point, we just had time to squeeze in one more before dinner, so that's what we did. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and continued to sort things out on Amazon. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with a little paperwork. Then I found Kitten. We talked, then teamed up. I picked another new contact and started a real story arc. We did two or three missions and stopped when Kitten went quiet and faded out. After that, I did some paperwork. Next, I did a mix of Cross Stitch World, more paperwork on City of heroes: Homecoming, and making notes in this until I was done with the notes. I tried to get to bed earlier, with modest success. {Smile}

Daily Update June 18, 2025

 On Wednesday, I had a hard time getting going until an almost two-hour nap in the afternoon. At the end of the nap, I had particular trouble waking up. My main nurse admitted to trying a few times. I'm not sure I can talk him into trying harder, though I wish I could. It seemed to be okay this time, but usually when I sleep over an hour in the daytime, there's usually an underlying cause I need to treat that's often better treated sooner than later. Migraines are the most common example. {smile}

I didn't do any exercise; I just couldn't muster the energy, even after the nap. I'm suspicious that I came down with something, and the worst parts were late Tuesday and early Wednesday. {smile}

After breakfast, I read web comics and browsed the web, along with playing some Cross Stitch World, but less than usual. This continued right on through lunch and into the afternoon. Eventually, more or less in the middle of the afternoon I took a nap that lasted almost twice as long as I planned. Then I was slow waking up. I read more web comics and started making notes in this daily update even before I began writing up Tuesday's daily update. Yes, I did that, too. Then I cleaned myself up with my main nurse's help. After that, I finally went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Jag and Austin, a couple of old friends exploring some new content released yesterday. We did a mission and were just starting another when my nurse called me to dinner. It looked like a small map, which is usually quicker, so we did it. I didn't want to leave them with more enemies to fight, since they'd entered before I announced I had to leave. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing up Tuesday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Austin and Jag were still on, so I joined them for a few missions. Then they left for bed. I did some paperwork and talked with Ulty and Jenny's Player. I talked particularly long with Ulty, since she's the teen supergroup leader, and I was coming to realize that much of my upset the day before was being sick and not realizing it. I also answered Nox, and eventually we said goodnight, having missed much chance to talk. I played by myself on the teen supergroup member, doing two or three actual missions. Then I made notes in this, with breaks to play Cross Stitch World and browse on Amazon. I got to bed late again, but not as late as the day before. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 17, 2025

On Tuesday, my relief nurse took me to the monthly picnic. I found them with two tables spread with food, but only the one they were sitting was ours. I did enjoy their company. I also told them I might be leaving early when creative writing begins next month. My relief nurse did come and take me home afterwards. {Smile}

I didn't get any exercise again. I was busy with the teen supergroup for several hours around dinner, and didn't get to it later. {smile}

After the picnic, I had a small lunch at home. Then I wrote up my daily update, with breaks to play Cross Stitch World and read web comics. I stopped writing before I was done to go to the teen supergroup meeting. We roleplayed and ran a mission that completed the story we started last week that the leader made. Then we just roleplayed. I tried to get them to do some badge hunting with me that ought to improve some of the characters. Only one joined me. The rest preferred roleplaying. The one who did only did what I already had done on my character. Then he rushed off to roleplay with the rest, saying he'd get the rest done later. The part he skipped is what I needed help with to finish because my character is too low-level to do it on my own like he can. However, we wanted to join the roleplaying we were missing. I joined it, too, but I had trouble getting into it. I was mostly quiet until dinner. I kept thinking about how somehow my attempt to help them while they helped me just turned into an imposition {rueful smile}

After dinner I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and joined the teen supergroup, where three were roleplaying a game of minigolf in a supergroup base with an area set up for that. I was still quiet. After the rest left, the leader and I talked about how it hadn't gone how I hoped. I'm not sure what her conclusions are, but I think she wants to help me. I did message her later, trying to explain my side, but I'm struggling for the right words. Near the end of our talk, Dr. Faustus invited me to join him for missions in a low-level villain zone. I did, and we started a mission. Then Phonso invited us to a trial. I think we finished the mission, then joined him. we ran that trial and two more like it with the teams Phonso recruited. After the third trial, they both left. I did some paperwork and finally tried to explore a newly completed zone. Unfortunately, I need a new map. I tried to get one but gave up and started making notes in this. I paused to try some more of the map but was still unsuccessful. After that, I finished these notes later than usual. {smile}

Daily Update, June 16, 2025

On Monday, shortly after lunch, I had an online counselling session. Yes, it's an unusual day for that, but my counselor suggested it for one more session before she leaves for a month. The session went well. We talked about things that are happening or likely to happen relatively soon. we both feel more confident I'll do well during a particularly long vacation for her. {Smile}

later in the afternoon, the gal with Daughters of the King who's come before came again. This time we covered one chapter more slowly and carefully. I am much relieved. I don't feel rushed or overwhelmed. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise. I really wanted to after dinner, but I was too hot and tired for it when the time came. {rueful smile}

After breakfast, my relief nurse and I went out to do a couple of errands. On the way, we mostly talked. I did play a little Cross Stitch World, but not all that much compared to usual. Then I played a little more after we got home. I also browsed on the web and read web comics. Then I broke for lunch. Afterwards, I did a little more web browsing before my counselling appointment. After that, I wrote up Sunday's daily update and read web comics until the Daughters of the King study session. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started with paperwork. I also said hi to Kitten. they responded, and we quickly teamed up We fit in one long mission of mine before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I played Cross Stitch World while I tried to find energy to exercise. I ended up giving and going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I barely did any paperwork before I teamed up with Kitten and Dennis. We did a few of my missions until they both left for bed. I also talked with Nox on the chat server. After Kitten and Dennis left, I hunted on the fairly high-level character I'd teamed up on both before and after dinner. Then I did some paperwork and talked with Nox and others on the chat server. One of the others got me to try a different game. I'm not sure I'll stick with it; we'll see. After that, I played a little Cross Stitch World and made notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 15, 2025

On Sunday I got up at 8:30 am instead of 9 am, Church started at 9 am instead of 10 am, but I can't do a full hour. Most can, but I get symptoms of jet lag if I move my bedtime that much at once. I've been trying to move it earlier, but with limited success and too much backsliding. {rueful smile}

Anyway, my main nurse got me there during the sermon, which is significantly into the service, but could have been worse. It was morning prayer due to not being able to line up a supply priest, and a long service for morning prayer. I enjoyed what I saw of it. {Smile}

After the service, we had brunch on the lanai. I talked with a couple of our Daughters of the King members about a couple of questions that came up in my reading. WE stayed so my main nurse could help clean up, giving me more time to chat with folks. Then he took me back home. {Smile}

Around dinner time I got a phone call from the gal who's helping me go through the Daughters of the King discernment. She wanted to touch base before our meeting the next day, and suggested texting her the questions I mentioned having. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise. I think that's not entirely bad the day after a forty-minute walk. I hope not. I'll make sure to exercise soon. {Smile}

On the way to and from church, I played Cross Stitch World. Then after I got home, I played more Cross Stitch World, browsed the web, and read web comics. I also wrote up Saturday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then Rav said hi, and we teamed up. We started doing my missions. Then Pierogies joined us, and a little later, Dennis joined us too. we kept doing my missions. Next, Dennis left before dinner, and Pierogies started a farm for Rav and me. He suggested that I leave my character there during dinner to collect stuff from farming. I did so. {Smile}

After dinner, I found Pierogies and Rav just finishing up the farm. We did one more farm before Pierogies left for the night. Next, Rav helped me finish yesterday's hunt, and a few more hunts that overlap. Then Rav left and worked on the paperwork from the farms. Next, I hunted by myself on a fairly high-level character until Rav came back and said hi. We teamed up on very low-level characters and did three of my missions before we said goodby for the night. After that, I did a little paperwork, then made notes in this with two pauses to text the gal whose helping me with discernment with some questions I have. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 14, 2025

On Saturday, the housekeeper came after lunch. The house is distinctly better for her attentions, especially since I finally remembered to tell her about the crazy glue I got over a month ago. She stuck down the non-slip stickers that were starting to unstick. She also did wonders for both the front band back walks outside, which were growing assorted organisms that made them less safe and pleasant to use. {smile}

Also, my main nurse took me down to Liliu'okalani Gardens in the middle of the afternoon. It was raining most of the way down. but it was merely cloudy, not raining at the park the whole time we walked around it, which was almost 40 minutes. I did stop for a popsicle, and picked haupia, a traditional Hawaiian coconut milk treat, though a popsicle version in this case. When we were done with the walk, my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

The walk was my exercise for the day. {Smile}

After breakfast I did a little web browsing and played a little Cross Stitch World. Then I cleaned myself up with my main nurse's help. Then I studied two chapters of the discernment for the Daughters of the King right through lunch. After that, the housekeeper came. Then we took our trip out. When i got back home, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. then I teamed up with Pierogies, and we worked on a badge until dinner. He had me leave my character online but quiet, to get as much more done as feasible, since we shared in each other's efforts. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Friday's daily update and read a few web comics before going into city of Heroes: Homecoming late. I started with paperwork. I'd just begun continuing the hunt from before dinner when Rav said hi, and joined me in the hunt. When that character was done, I found another who needed the same hunt, pausing to explain part of the game to him at some length. Then we hunted together for a while, until Dr. Faustus invited me to a mission. I thought he was doing a badge tour and got permission for Rav to come too. Then I explained the badge tour to Rav. We joined Dr. Faustus after I switched the low-level villain supergroup member. We did the whole the mission, which by itself can include one ninth of the tour, plus the actual mission, and side missions, which we ran out of time for. Then the other two both left. Then I did some paperwork. Next, I made notes in this, with brief break for Cross Stitch World, and a little more Cross Stitch World afterwards, before going to bed early because church starts at nine. I won't get there in time, but earlier than I usually do when it starts at ten. {Smile}
