Daily Update, May 2, 2024

    I found a text around breakfast time reminding me that Raider had an appointment at Val's veterinarian's office. So, I called that vet's office and explained that the message had reached the wrong person, and they still needed to remind Raider's family about his appointment. She thanked me.

   Later in the morning I had counselling. It went okay. We talked a lot about how my story is going, and how sequels could go. We established something else to work on next time, which I'm looking forward to covering. {smile}

   After counselling, I sorted through books before and after lunch. This segued into sorting books after lunch. I'm trying to sort out duplicates which could be sold or used as presents or something. {Smile}

   I ate lunch and dinner with Mom and read to her before dinner. I got there right after my bath; I think just about normal time for me. Mom was awake and looking around, though not lively.  She looked at the pictures, too, though she closed her eyes to rest when she'd seen enough. First, I began my reading with scripture and thoughts about it. After that, I read Christmas cards from her sister's friend and her sister. Next, I read the first couple of pages from _1960's Memory Lane_. Then I read "The Golden Goose" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I finished with the 2nd of May's story from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "The Butterfly." {Smile}

   My exercises started with my five head exercises when I was winding down in the evening. Then I did eight of my walking exercises, three of my sitting arm weight training exercises, and all 12 of my arm-swinging exercises. After a short break, I did my other six walking exercises. After a longer break, I did my last sitting arm weight training exercise, and realized I was getting tired. I still did my arm resistance exercises, but I stopped there, since the tiredness wasn't getting better. The truth is, both sorting through books and sorting books involved a lot of lifting carrying and moving books, including walking around carrying them, so I think I got some exercise earlier in the day that way. Missing my leg exercises and my standing arm weight training exercises doesn't feel too bad. {Smile}

   I read an article around the text and phone, before counselling. Then, after sorting through and sorting books, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I let TheCyberChill know I was heading there through the chat server. I found Div and Kitten in Kitten's base, and we got together. TheCyberChill joined us, and we started teaming up. Pierogies joined us too. We teamed a fair while before Div left. TheCyberChill left just after them. Pierogies, Kitten and I chatted, and watched a couple of videos. I also finished writing Wednesday's daily update. Then I left to clean myself up and went straight to reading to Mom followed by dinner after that. {Smile}

   After dinner, I hopped back into City of Heroes: Homecoming, and quickly joined Kitten in their base. I did some paperwork while visiting. TheCyberChill joined us. When I finished my paperwork, I asked about "doing something." Kitten would have liked to, but they were too tired. TheCyberChill was willing, so we did a mission and a hunt a mid-level character of mine has. Then I watched TheCyberChill do the rest of the story we'd stopped in the middle of, and the next one in FFXIV. After that, I did my exercises, and chatted with TheCyberChill a little. I also read an article and played a little of Cross Stitch World. I ended with writing a little of this and making a lot of notes to write from the next day. {Smile}

Daily Update, May 1, 2024

    Happy May Day! That is if you celebrate it. if not, I hope you had a nice one anyway. Yes, I guess it's one day late, but this is the post where i tell what I did on May Day, so this is when I remember it. {Smile}

   The night before, I heard a thump while I was going to bed. A cursory look around didn't reveal what had caused the thump, I left further investigation for the morning. The next morning, i couldn't find my phone where I've been leaving it since my hearing aid charger started taking up the phone's old place. I realized it falling must have been the thump; it was a reasonable loudness and all. I found my phone behind my bed and tried a fair while to get it out. Nothing I tried quite managed to get it, so I got our nurse. I tried to suggest something that needed more hands than I could do by myself, but he shooed me off, saying he'd get it. I don't know what he did, but he got it out in half the time I spent trying, maybe less. I thanked him lavishly. {Chuckle, Smile}

   A while after breakfast, I contacted Uber. A fellow came and took me to physical therapy. That went pretty well. I even worked on some tricky salsa dancing moves with the harness, so if I slipped, that would catch me. Afterwards, I contacted Uber again, and a gal took me home She did not believe me when I tried to warn her about the after-school traffic and how to avoid it. Everyone knows schools let out a little after one on Wednesdays (they did before they closed for Covid 19), not a little after noon (except they have since they reopened during the pandemic). {wry smile}

   I thought about my story, but I didn't actually write more. In the afternoon I was tired, and when I tried later, I realized I needed to think the next part through better. {Smile}

   I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. I got there a little earlier today. Mom was awake and looking around. She looked at the pictures, too, mostly without too much prompting. I began my reading with scripture and thoughts about it first. After that, I read some cards from her cousin's granddaughter and her cousin. Next, I read the last couple of pages from _Music stars 1940-1960 Memory Lane_. Then I read "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I finished with the 1st of May's story from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "Lucky Lilies." {Smile}

   My exercise was my physical therapy today. I was quite drained enough afterwards to feel like I'd earned a day off. {smile}

   I read an article or two between breakfast and calling Uber to go to physical therapy. I'm so glad the nurse got the phone out of where it fell so I could. I played a little Cross Stitch World waiting for Uber to take me over to physical therapy and read a little of a web novel waiting for Uber to take me home. Then I wrote up Tuesday's daily update over and after lunch. Next, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I found Div, who pointed out I was later than the day before. Well, yes, physical therapy delayed my daily update, which delayed getting in. Anyway, I teamed up with Div, Kitten, and TheCyberChill. The difficulty was high for TheCyberChill, who left after one mission. Pierogies joined us and asked for the difficulty higher; all who were left really could. I was struggling a little, but in a good way. Div left late for them. Then I talked a little with Dennis, who hoped to team up after my dinner. Pierogies left slightly earlier than I usually read to Mom I went and did that fairly soon, after realizing it was really too tight to clean myself up just then. {Smile}

   After dinner, I talked with TheCyberChill. They wanted to do the next story after the ones last night in a different game while I watched, but I admitted I really wanted to play City of Heroes: Homecoming. They admitted they were tired, and suggested doing it soon, like maybe a couple of days. So, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I found Dennis with Kitten, and a friend of theirs joined us soon. Kitten went quiet, and timed out, like they'd gone to sleep. Dennis, the other one and I did a few missions. I also talked to Nox on the chat server. Then the other one left, and so did Dennis. I started working on a lot of paperwork that's piled up. I also finally cleaned myself up. I also played some Cross Stitch World and read a few more comics before writing a little more of this and taking notes to write from the next day. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 30, 2024

    On Tuesday, after breakfast, I phoned my church. I told them Kim, my cousin, wanted to be back on their email list. They took her email address down and promised to add it again. Then I texted Kim, to tell her I'd gotten that done. That turned into a nice if short text conversation. {Smile}

   I also worked on my story. In the morning, I added a little I just realized really needed to be there. At night, between my salsa sets, I started the second part of the new introduction. It's coming slowly, but at least it's coming. {Smile}

   I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. I got there at a typical time. Mom was resting, but opened her eyes and kept looking around, so i think she really was just resting. She seemed interested in what I read and showed to her. I started my reading with scripture and thoughts about it first. Then I read some cards from her nephew, a cousin, and both of her sisters. After that, I read a couple of pages from _Music stars 1940-1960 Memory Lane_. Next, I read "Thumbelina" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I finished with the 30th of April's story from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "The Letter-Box." {Smile}

   I started my leg exercises between reading to Mom and dinner and finished them after dinner. I also did my arm resistance exercises after dinner. Then I did my arm swinging exercises and walking exercises after Nox and TheCyberChill left. Next came a break that went longer than I meant trying to find the point of an infomercial. (I finally gave up.) Then I did my salsa dancing warmup followed by my head exercises. I hoped to do more, but it was late enough, it was time to quit.

   After breakfast, around the phone and text conversations, I read comics and articles and watched a little of a video. Then I wrote some of the story and Monday's daily update. Next came lunch, during which I got a note from Div promising to be in City of Heroes: Homecoming, and to team up if I got in soon enough. I dashed right into City of Heroes: Homecoming and found Div. We started talking. Pierogies said hi, too, and promised to be back after he left to eat. Then Div and I teamed up. In our first mission, my character accidentally gained a level I was trying to avoid, so I could finish running out the contact he was the right level for. He missed some of it, but I'm reminding myself other characters can do what he's missed, and now he can move on to the endgame. After that mission, Pierogies joined us for our second mission, and we did a couple more missions after that, I think during the third mission. We did another, then Pierogies left. Div, TheCyberChill and I did another mission or two. Then Div left next. TheCyberChilll wanted me to watch them play a different game, but I needed to break and clean myself up. by the time I finished, it was just about time to read to Mom. {Smile}

   After dinner and my exercises, I found TheCyberChill, and started watching them play the story they wanted to show me. That took up the evening, along with chatting with Nox on the chat server for a fair while. Then I worked on my exercises, with watching videos and writing my story in between and around them. To my disgust, that included one of those infomercials that keep promising to tell you how to get their miracle product, but never get around to it. I think I gave up after half an hour without reaching how to actually get the stuff. I also wrote a little of this and made notes to finish writing this the next day. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 29, 2024

    A while after breakfast, I contacted Uber. A fellow came and took me to get my new hearing aids checked after a week of wearing them. The hearing aids checked out, and some volume control got added. That's really what I wanted int eh first place, but the technician wanted me to see if I needed anything else, too. {Smile}

   Then I contacted Uber, and a fellow came and took me home. He had about six books he'd written and self-published on display. I thought that was neat. {Smile}

   I swapped out an old, stretched, and bent out of shape plastic floor pad for a new, flat floor pad in hopes it will be harder to trip over while salsa dancing. It had arrived a few days ago, but I got tired of waiting for the housekeeper to come do it today. It involved enough manhandling it ought to count for a little exercise somehow. {Smile}

   I thought about my story a lot, but somehow didn't get more written. {smile}

   I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. I got there slightly earlier than sometimes. Mom was awake when I got there, and more interested in what I what I read. She opened her eyes when prompted to look at pictures. I began my reading with scripture and thoughts about it first. After that, I continued reading her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. Next, I read a couple of pages from _Music stars 1940-1960 Memory Lane_. I kept it short again, this time just because this book has more words than most of her picture books.  Then I read "the Princess and the Pea" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I finished with the 29th of April's story from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "Young Detectives." {Smile}

   I did my head exercises and some of my arm swinging exercises while waiting for Uber at home. Then I did the rest of my arm swinging exercises and my arm resistance exercises between reading to Mom and dinner. I did my walking exercises after teaming for the evening and a little paperwork. Then after another pause, I did one of my four sitting arm weight training exercises, both of my standing arm weight training exercises, and all seven of my leg exercise before it got too late to continue. I am happy to get back to doing more exercises, including some of the weight training exercises. I was concerned with how often I've been missions those. {smile}

   Before and after my appointment for my hearing aids, I read articles and comics, and played Cross Stitch World. That included over breakfast, after breakfast, over lunch, and after lunch. Then after that I read some of a web novel and wrote up yesterday's daily update. Then I hurriedly cleaned myself up before hopping into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Pierogies and I found each other, and we teamed up. We did some missions until it was time to read to Mom. {Smile}

   After dinner I began to write this up. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I said hi to Dennis, Pierogies, and Ulty. Ulty responded first, and the others were slow enough, I got into a slow role-play which was all talk. It was slow but okay. things were more interesting when Dennis and Pierogies started talking, since they filled some long quiet stretches. I also chatted with Nox on the chat server, which had the same benefit. Then Ulty left, and I realized that as little as I'd known what to talk about before, being with a few folks I barely know made that even worse. I felt self-conscious and uncertain of my place in the roleplay after Ulty left, but it broke up... probably sooner after she left than it felt like. {rueful chuckle} When it did break up, I joined Dennis, and got Pierogies to come with us. We teamed for a while, until Pierogies left for bed. Then Dennis and I teamed a little more before Dennis left for bed. After that, I did some paperwork, then started my exercises. I filled the breaks between exercises with videos and articles and began writing this up and making notes in it, too. I slipped in a little Cross Stitch World but tried to finish up and get done slightly earlier. I managed to get done slightly before the time I did the night before, and into bed a little earlier. Now if I can just keep that up... {Smile}

Daily Update, April 28, 2024

    I called Uber after breakfast, and a fellow came and took me to church. I arrived over ten minutes late, but they must have started late, since I got there during the announcements. it was morning prayer, since our priest was gone for her father's funeral. At that, it was altered, with minimal processing, because our deacon was barely able to hobble on crutches.

   We had a big lunch afterwards. Then I got a ride home with one of the folks who often takes me when Auntie Barbara isn't there. Auntie Barbara had warned me the previous night that she wouldn't be there because she wanted to spend more time with her son and his wife, are visiting for a while. {Smile}

   My story came along a bit more, but it's still pretty slow. I suspect it doesn't help that I'm trying to do a lot without adding too much to the length in the introduction. {smile}

   I ate breakfast and dinner with Mom and read to her before dinner. I got there slightly earlier than sometimes. Mom was quite awake this time, but not as interested in some of what I read. She kept her eyes open, but sometimes I wondered if she was looking at the pictures. First, I began my reading with scripture and thoughts about it. Then I continued reading her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. After that, I read a couple of pages from _Music stars 1940-1960 Memory Lane_, but not as much as usual, because she said she wasn't enjoying it. Next, I read "Snow White and Rose Red" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I finished with the 28th of April's story from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "the Race." {Smile}

   I did my head exercises and started my arm swinging exercises while waiting for Uber. I finished my arm swinging exercises and did my arm resistance exercises between reading to Mom and dinner. Then I did my walking exercises after I finished teaming for the evening. Next, I took a break, then did my salsa dancing warmup set. After another break, I did my less structured salsa dancing set.

   When I got home, I played Cross Stitch World and read articles. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update. Next, I snuck into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I got caught immediately by Pierogies and Kitten, who were admiring Kitten's base. I joined them, and we chatted while we admired it for a while. Then we split up. I cleaned myself up, then we back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten and Dennis for three missions. Pierogies joined us partway through the second one. Then I left to read to Mom. {Smile}

   After dinner and some exercises, I got back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dennis and Kitten admiring Kitten's base and joined them. Then we teamed up and started to play. Dennis thought a particular character had done a certain story arc, but he couldn't find the contact, or the one before that. He did find the one before that, but it looked like he hadn't done anything for that contact. He must have done the others on a different character. Anyway, we did that story arc with him. I also talked briefly but meaningfully with Nox on the chat server. When Dennis, Kitten and I finished that story arc, Dennis left for bed. Then Kitten and I ran one more mission. The next mission looked like more than we quite felt up to, so we said goodnight. Then I did some of my exercises. I played Cross Stitch World, watched videos, wrote some of this and took notes to write from for the rest of it in the breaks and afterwards, too. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 27, 2024

    I wrote more of the story here and there in spots. I wrote a bit in the morning, a bit more in the afternoon... It's coming. {Smile}

   Oh, I found a new site to read webcomics on. It has a t least two that another site expected me to pay in time or money to get. I did for a while, but it will be good to be able to read without fussing over that.

   I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with Mom and read to her before dinner. I got there earlier than sometimes. Mom was reasonably awake this time, keeping her eyes open and looking at the pictures, even responding a few times. First, I started my reading with scripture and thoughts about it. Next, I continued reading her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. Then, I read the next few pages from _Music stars 1940-1960 Memory Lane_. After that, I read "The Little Mermaid" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I finished with the 27th of April's story from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "Greg's Garden." {Smile}

   I did some of my head exercises near the end of the evening on City of Heroes: Homecoming. Then I did my salsa dancing warmup set, followed by the rest of my head exercises, my arm swinging exercises, and my arm resistance exercises. then I did my less structured salsa dancing for a little over 20 minutes of salsa dancing. then it was too late to do more. But at least I got that much done. {rueful look}

   In the morning, I read articles, played Cross Stitch World, and wrote a little of my story. Then I finished writing Friday's daily update. I read comics after lunch and wrote more of my story. Then I cleaned myself up before hopping into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Kitten and Pierogies caught me and showed me the supergroup base Kitten has been working on. They've been working hard at it, and most of the most main things you can do something with are available, along with some of the pets they like. We admired it until Pierogies left. Then Kitten and I joined Dennis and a friend of his who were working on some missions. The first was lower level because it was old, but the latter two were a bit higher. {Smile}

After dinner, I did a lot of paperwork because I couldn't find anyone to play with. It helped me make progress on a couple of big projects I have. Eventually I found a few friends to say hi to. Mysty invited me to join her for a roleplay. I did. Then Dennis came on and said hi. We talked, and he tried to join in, but was thrown by some odd moods in the group. then the others left, and Dennis and I did a mission. Then I did what exercise I got done today, reading a comic in a break. I looked at videos and another comic afterwards. Then I wrote this and made notes to write from the next day. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 26, 2024

   On Friday, my story was coming slowly but surely. I wrote little bits here and there throughout the day. {Smile}

   I ate lunch and dinner with Mom and read to her before dinner. I got there earlier than sometimes. Mom was very tired but kept opening her eyes when prompted to look at the pictures, so I kept at it, and read a full session. I started my reading with scripture and thoughts about it first. After that, I continued reading her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. Next, I read the back cover and the first few pages from _Music stars 1940-1960 Memory Lane_. then I read "the Frog Prince" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I then moved the bookmark past "The Fir Tree," since that ends a bit too sadly to be easy for Mom to resolve.  I finished with the 26th of April's story from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "Eleanor's Trunk." {Smile}

   I did my arm resistance exercises between reading to Mom and dinner. Then I did 8 of my walking exercises after teaming and some paperwork, 7 of them a full 2 times down and back, and one 1 1/2 times down and back. After some more paperwork because I was tired, I did the other six I didn't need the intermediate one I did last night, nor did I need more than one railing. I did 5 of them a full 2 times down and back, and one 1 1/2 times down and back. After a shorter break, I did my arm swinging exercises and my head exercises. Later, I realized I was really too tired to do more, so I stopped there. {smile}

   Over and after breakfast, I read articles and played Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Thursday's daily update and wrote a little of the story. After lunch, more written, read Demon World Boba Shop and a comic, and did a bit of research before I cleaned myself up. Then I hopped into city of Heroes: Homecoming. Dr. Faustus called me to a meeting of the supergroup he got me into, which was getting ready to run content a lot higher than my character. He suggested I pretend my character polymorphed into one of my higher-level characters. So, I switched to a high-level character, and we ran it most of the way through, until we got stuck in a particularly tough battle. Then the group then fell apart, so I said hi to Pierogies and Kitten. Pierogies invited me to their team, and the base where Kitten was just beginning to learn to build a base. For a beginner they're coming along quite nicely. They were just finishing a set of portals to various parts of the game world. We chatted and did a bit of paperwork until it was time to read to Mom. {Smile}

   After dinner and exercise, I hopped back into the game, and started working on paperwork a character had. Then Dennis came and we chatted before teaming up. I introduced him to more of the end game, as we called the later parts that are significantly different than the earlier parts. We ran one story arc and started another. I also chatted with Nox on the chat server. After Dennis said goodnight, I did paperwork and my exercises. I also read some Demon World Boba Shop, did a little research, wrote a little of this, and made notes to write from the next day.

Daily Update, April 25, 2024

    Thursday was a mostly quiet day. I did get more of the story written. It's moving again, if not quickly. {Smile}

   I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. I got there at a typical time these days. Mom was resting, and continued to rest while I read, opening her eyes when prompted to look at the pictures. First, I started my reading with scripture and thoughts about it. then I continued reading her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. After that, I read the last few pages from _1960s Fashion in Pictures_, along with the back cover. Next, I read "Little Red Riding Hood" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I finished with the 25th of April's story from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "Primroses." {Smile}

   I did my leg exercises between reading to Mom and dinner, and my arm resistance exercises after dinner. The I did my arm swinging exercises after teaming for the evening, and a bit of paperwork, besides. then I did my walking exercises. I found I could do a repetition and a half of the exercise I was only doing one repetition of with my eyes open. with my eyes closed, I added an intermediate exercise along one railing that I was doing between railings. Then I did the other one on one railing for one full repetition - which is much longer than using two railings because they don't overlap far. I ended my walking exercises with the one I still can't do on one railing between two railings. Then I did my head exercises around some writing and a little paperwork

   After breakfast, I read articles and played Cross Stitch World. I also texted with Carol, the cousin who visited yesterday. That was fun. I tried to write, too, but I just couldn't concentrate on that enough. that took me up to lunch time. Then I read the web novel some more. It's _Demon World Boba Shop: A Nice Slice of Life Story_ on the web fiction host site Royal Road. Then I wrote up Wednesday's daily update. Next, I quickly cleaned myself up before I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I thought I was arriving in time to join the later long, large group event, but I couldn't find it. Instead, I found Dennis. We talked a bit. Apparently the later long, large-group event was done a different way that can't be joined late or be joined by low-level characters. So, Dennis and I ran a couple of missions. Pierogies joined us when the later long, large group event finished. He'd gotten in properly, I guess. {Smile}

   After dinner, my exercises, and beginning to write this up, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming later than I hoped or expected. I talked to Ulty until I realized they were busy in a roleplay with friends. I also talked with Nox on the chat world. We had a good talk, I'm happy to say. I also talked to Owl Girl. Just as I actually ran into Owl Girl after we'd been chatting for a while, Dennis came on. I talked with both, then teamed up with Dennis. I showed him a few characters. He picked a story arc the last one I showed him had, and we finished it. Then we said goodnight. Then I did some paperwork and my exercises. I also wrote a bit of my story. then I wrote a little of this and made a lot of notes, interspersed with writing the story and with some research. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 24, 2024

    A while after breakfast, I contacted Uber, and a guy came and took me to physical therapy. That went quite well. I showed him the exercises, and he gave me some good suggestions for improving some, especially the tricky ones... primarily by working on by doing less-extreme versions, and gradually making them more challenging.

   After physical therapy, I contacted Uber again, and Alan got the ride. He came and took me home, and we had quite a lively conversation all the way home. {Smile}

   Late that afternoon, my cousin, Carol and her husband, Roger, dropped by our house for a very quick visit. It was all too quick - a little over half an hour of talking, pictures, visiting with Mom, who sang a song, "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition," and getting contact information straightened out. {SMILE}

   I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. I got there I got there earlier than sometimes, but not really early she was awake when I got there but rested in the middle. She did need prompting to look at some of the pictures, but she did look with reminders. First, I began my reading with scripture and thoughts about it. After that, I continued reading her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. Next, I read the next several pages from _1960s Fashion in Pictures_. Then I read "the Wild Swans" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I finished with the 24th of April's story from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "Happy Birthday." {Smile}

   My exercise today was my physical therapy. They work me quite hard enough for one day. {Smile}

   I read articles and played Cross Stitch World before contacting Uber to go to physical therapy. Then I started reading a web novel while waiting for Uber and physical therapy. I read more articles and more of the web novel when I got home, over and after lunch. Then I wrote up Tuesday's daily update before I cleaned myself up. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming, and started to join the later long, large-group event. Pierogies had just greeted me as I was settling in when our nurse came and said someone was at the door. It was my cousin, Carol, and her husband Roger, dropping by on a family trip. We had a lovely visit. We talked, took pictures and visited with Mom. We all agreed the only problem was it was too short, but this was the time they had to drop by. We're just so lucky I was home; they'd tried calling, but she called the house when I was at physical therapy, or on the way there or back. She now has my cell number, and we've confirmed it by starting a text conversation. She also has our correct address hopefully packages won't be lost. By the time I got back, the later long, large-group event was over, and Pierogies had gone to bed. It was almost time to read to Mom anyway. {Smile}

   After dinner, I began writing this up. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming and looked around for folks. Not seeing anyone, I read more of the web novel. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, and started chatting with Ulty, who was winding down, and Dennis, who was in a taskforce. I also chatted with Nox on the chat server. Ulty left. Dennis finished his taskforce and promised to come back after a break. I worked on paperwork and a little solo play. Then Dennis came back, and we teamed up. We did a few missions and ended up saying goodnight later than he meant to. then I did some paperwork and made notes in this to write from on Thursday. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 23, 2024

    On Tuesday, my ride to my meeting arrived before I was quite finished with breakfast.  I quickly finished eating, grabbed my things, and left. I had a nice talk with the driver on the way down to the meeting. {Smile}

   The folks assembled, and meeting began. It almost immediately adjourned to lunch.  We had a leisurely lunch with much talking. Then we went back to the meeting room, to talk a bit about sympathy, empathy, and compassion. We talked at least as much about the problems of finding a better place to meet, and the struggle to do just that. That was our leader's way of asking us for help in finding something better. {smile}

   The ride home wasn't solo like the way down. Another guy from the meeting was in there, too. He got dropped off first, and we talked a fair bit on the way to his destination. Then it was pretty quiet. The driver was the same as on the way down, and as nice as our conversation was, we covered the main topics I could think of well on the way down. {Smile}

   I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. I got there late, and she was awake when I got there, but got to resting after a while. She did need prompting to look at some of the pictures again, but she did look with reminders. I began my reading with scripture and thoughts about it first. Then I continued reading her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. After that, I read the next several pages from _1960s Fashion in Pictures_. Next, I read "Cinderella" from _Five Minute Fairy Tales_. I finished with the 23rd of April's poem from _366 Stories for Bedtime_, "A Rain Storm." {Smile}

   I did my head exercises and my leg exercises between reading to Mom and dinner. Then I did my arm resistance exercises and my walking exercises after dinner, all 12 long ones and 2 short ones, including one of each being half the repetitions. After teaming I did my salsa dancing warm-up set, and later, after a break, a much less structured salsa set than I have been recently; I've been frustrated with a rut. {Smile}

    When I got home from the meeting, I read articles, played Cross Stitch World, and read a comic I've been following. Then I wrote up Monday's daily update. Next, I tried to rush cleaning myself up. After that, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming and found Kitten. We teamed up and ran a couple of missions together. Dennis joined us over halfway through the second mission. The three of us finished with a hunt before I left to read to Mom. {Smile}

   After dinner and my exercises, I hopped back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten and Pierogies, and the three of us teamed up. Pierogies and I got our low-level characters, since Pierogies insisted Kitten wanted to see mine, sine they'd designed them. We ran several of my missions, running out some low-level contacts one by one. Dr. Faustus joined us part was through It involved a few missions, since low-level missions often are small enough to go quickly. Then Pierogies left, and I finished my lowest contacts with Kitten's and Dr. Faustus's help. I also said goodnight to Nox on the chat server. We missed talking again. Anyway, when I finished the lowest contacts, Dr. Faustus left for the night. Then Kitten and I did a few missions, starting up the next round of contacts. When it was definitely time, I left to do my salsa dancing and other exercises, not that I got them all done. Around them, I watched a video and researched some stuff on the net. I ended the night by writing a little of this update and making notes to finish writing it from the next day. {Smile}
