Daily Update, July 17, 2026

The night before Friday, I got to bed slightly after 2 am. I missed my first goal, but at least I didn't miss it by much. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my Ballroom Dance Mambo Class. I think I'm getting all the beginner's steps, though I'm getting some steps better than others. Still, this is only the second class, so I'm delighted to be so far already. I danced with a few partners, both guys and gals, and occasionally sort of led when I thought I knew a step my partner wanted to learn. My main nurse took me home again after class. I read more of "Perfect State" in _Tailored Realities_ by Brandon Sanderson. I think it's a rare utopic story that's actually happy. {Smile}

When I got home from class, I went onto my computer. I read articles and web comics and watched videos through lunch. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I got Eamonn, made the last thing he needed to make a better end game power. I tried an individual timed mission to test it. It went well, but then I saw the early long, large-group event being advertised. That would be an even better test, so I joined it on Eamonn. I said hi to a friend I noticed. Next, I checked on my friends who play the game. After that, I socialized with the group until the event started. then I was mostly busy fighting, though I tried to socialize a bit as I could. It's so easy to just get caught up in playing and forget to talk with others, but for me, the point of playing a game that is shared by many simultaneously is to interact with people, not just the game system. After we ran the event, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on Eamonn. {Smile}

Then I switched to long-range Olga. I checked my long-time villain supergroup, but the meeting hadn't started yet. I checked some other characters, doing their weekend auction house, and went back to long-range Olga, and the meeting. Patience and Anya were already there when I got back, and our leader and Dr. Faustus followed me in shortly. We did a bit of roleplaying. Next, we started talking about what to do and who we expected to come. Noticing that Seb's characters were missing, I messaged him on Discord. He quickly brought Marius in. We did the strike force that gives special rewards this week. I switched to Hezabell, my highest-level member, for it because I thought both Olgas were too low. I realized partway through that melee-ranged Olga could do it. She was below the level we did it at, but high enough to get in. The game would compensate so she wouldn't have to be carried by the rest of the team. I'm figuring out how to ask better, so I know who can join. After the strike force, the meeting broke up, with members going their separate ways. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on Hezabell, then worked on some auction house and storage on Ana, my third best badge collector. After a fair while, I realized Dennis had said hi embarrassingly long after he did. I switched to a moderately high-level character named Marigold and joined him for a couple of missions. After that, we said goodnight. I went to dinner with my main nurse, his TV, and Forward Day by Day, and "Perfect State" in _Tailored Realities_ by Brandon Sanderson. I finished that story. {Smile}

After dinner, I tried writing up Thursday's daily update but watched far more videos than I meant to before actually finishing and sharing Thursday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Next, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on Ana while chatting with Wolf. After that, I ran a mission for a badge. I broke to check and play a little Cross Stitch World, then updated Ana's badge record. I did more in-game auction house, storage and crafting on Ana. Then, I began writing this. I paused to read two web comics. then wrote a little more and switched to making notes to write from. I ended the evening with the Lord's Prayer, Saint Francis's Prayer, and the motto of the Daughters of the King. {Smile}
