Daily Update, January 16, 2026

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me to my Ballroom Dance: Samba class. I got there slightly early. It was good to realize how many faces were there on Wednesday night, too. I enjoyed class and got another step down. It will come with time. After class, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

At home, I read articles and watched videos on the web over lunch. I read comics on the web afterwards. Then I checked out a new game and started writing Thursday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I worked on the in-game auction house and storage until Kitten said hi. We fit in a mission before my villain supergroup meeting. Then I went to the meeting and was the second to arrive of three. Dr. Faustus was already there when I arrived, and our leader came soon after. We roleplayed first. Then we decided on a taskforce but needed at least one person. We actually recruited a full team and ran the taskforce. Our meeting broke up after the taskforce, so I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting until Dennis said hi, but it was just before dinner, so we said a tentative goodnight, and I went off to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I finished Thursday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and found Dennis. We teamed up and did a few missions in a story arc I had. Next, I said goodnight to Dennis. Pierogies said hi just after Dennis left. We started the next story arc on the low-level characters. Then we said goodnight, and I worked on the in-game auction house and storage, but not long enough to get to crafting, too, before Dr. Faustus said hi. I joined two of their characters for a couple of missions. After that, we said goodnight. I did a little auction house and storage, then started making notes in this, but I took a lot of breaks to play Cross Stitch World, read comics on the web, and browse Amazon. I also answered Nox on Discord, a while after they'd gone to bed, but they can read when they find it. Then I ended my evening by saying the Lord's prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 15, 2026

On Thursday, my online counselling session started during breakfast. I thought it went pretty well. She's helping me with planning and coping with the transition to less nursing care. {Smile}

After lunch, my main nurse took me to Target. We walked to the books, where he left me to browse while he shopped elsewhere. I found many things to look at, but each time I asked myself if I wanted it more than three books currently waiting in the Amazon checkout basket. I never did, so I didn't get anything. Next, we went to Safeway, where I picked up some medicine. He got a few things. Then he took me back home. {Smile}

After my video counselling session, I read articles and watched videos on the web right through lunch. then I checked my story but didn't do much on it before the trip out. Then after our trip out, I went onto my computer and read articles and comics and watched videos on the web to settle my mind. When I was ready, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I began to fix up a character who needs adjustment after they got revamped in an update. I started talking with Chrome when I finished the first part of that process, since I couldn't see his in-game note to me until I got done with the first stage of the process. We talked while i worked on my character until I needed to stop to eat dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I wrote up Wednesday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends who play the game. I also talked with Chrome, who was in a story arc in a way I couldn't join. While waiting for him to finish, I checked with Ulty about a possible new teen supergroup member. Ulty detected no red flags but suggested I should try her out with the group before deciding whether to bring her or try another character. After that, Chrome got done, and we teamed up. We did a couple of his missions, plus a hunt of his at the end before we said goodnight. Just after Chrome left, Dr. Faustus and I started talking. We teamed up and added a second character of his to our team. We did a couple of hunts and missions together before we said goodnight. Then I began altering the appearance of the character who Ulty and I had talked about joining the teen supergroup to make her look younger and less intimidating. After that, I made notes in this all at once, with no breaks. After that, I made a few more alterations to the potential teen supergroup member. Then I closed my evening by saying the Lord's prayer, St. Francis's Prayer, and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 14, 2026

First, in Tuesday's update, I said the character was too old for the taskforce. No, my highest-level member of the group is too low-level for the taskforce, while her older sister is too old to join the group regularly. Sorry for the poorly worded explanation. {Smile}

Anyway, on Wednesday. late in the morning I began writing another piece of my story. I continued right through lunch and into the afternoon, describing two older children building a snowman. I was so tired after that, I just took it easy for the rest of the afternoon. I am tempted to blame the fact that I have never built a snowman. I have yet to have enough time while being around enough snow. If that sounds odd... it's life in the tropics. {Smile}

Later, I had an early dinner before my main nurse took me down to Holy Cross Church. We had some trouble finding the ballroom dance class that I'd heard about at my Friday ballroom dance class, but we did find it after a few tries. Despite that, I was pretty early. I joined the sponsoring club and signed up for both Rhumba and 3-count Shuffle. Yes, two separate classes, one right after the other. I did both and enjoyed them. I was in the front row, where we frequently changed partners, so every lead danced with every follow. The back rows were for people who preferred to stick with one partner. After the second class, my main nurse took me back home. I'm so excited to have another partner-dance class. I do enjoy dances where I can interact with others, whether one partner, or groups of any size. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos on the web until I began writing my story. When I finished with the story for now, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and started talking with Pierogies. We teamed up and finished the low-level story arc we'd started. Then we said goodnight, planning to do the last story arc in that series the next time we get together, or at least start it. I began working on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting, but I didn't get far before Dennis said hi. We teamed up and worked on some badges for two of my unranked badge collectors who are still high-level until I broke for an early dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, we went straight to class. When I got back home from class, I read articles, watched videos, and read one comic, all on the web. Then I wrote up Tuesday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found a note from Dr. Faustus. We teamed up as I was checking my friends who play the game. We did a couple of hunts and a regular mission, then said goodnight. I made notes in this, taking breaks to play Cross Stitch World, read articles on the web, and browse on Amazon. Then I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 13, 2026

On Tuesday after breakfast, my substitute relief nurse took me to Kamana Senior Center for my creative writing class. That went well, with a good lecture, a free writing session, and time to share my writing. They understood about me not having printouts because we're almost out of paper. I noticed car doors opening repeatedly without closing in one scene while reading the introduction I'd finished over the holidays. Afterwards, my substitute relief nurse took me home. {Smile}

Back at home, I got onto my computer and read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my own characters until Kitten said hi. We two teamed up and squeezed in a mission before the teen supergroup meeting. I went slightly early, but two others were already there ahead of time. I quickly joined the roleplaying they'd already started. Others came and ran a taskforce set in ancient times with me on my highest-level member's older sister because the member is too old for that taskforce, which ran right through dinner. {Smile}

Afterwards, I talked with the leader on Discord, the chat server, until I figured out a character that I could add to the group who fits the parameters, yet is higher level than my current highest-level character. Then I talked with an acquaintance who wants to play a game I don't have, but the download appeared to fail. I also read comics on the web and wrote up Monday's daily update. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and found Kitten. I talked with both them and Dr. Faustus, as I gave Kitten some stuff for their new character that I found after they left the previous night. After that, we both Dr. Faustus, who was doing a mission that's great for a particular badge. I got that badge for two of my high-level characters when we repeated that mission because the mission holder missed much of it the first time. Then we said goodnight. I made notes in this, taking a break to read a comic on the web and play Cross Stitch Word before finishing my notes. I ended my day with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 12, 2026

The night before Monday I got an idea for my story. However, I was sleepy enough, I didn't want to get up and go to another room to find what I'd need to write it down. Still, thinking about it kept me up until I convinced myself I'd remember int he morning. Then I finally fell back asleep. Then in the morning I jotted the idea down in a small notebook, and put that in my purse, so I'll have it if I got an idea while out. I'm just going to leave it there for that. {Smile}

After breakfast, my substitute relief nurse took me to Auntie Sally's Lulau Hale for my First Timer's Line Dancing class. I apologized to our new instructor and his wife for missing last time, explaining that I was sick. My instructor said few came because of the heavy rain anyway. I did pay for this session of the class, too. I enjoyed dancing in the class. After class my substitute relief nurse came and got me. I snacked in the car on the way to Walmart, where we picked up several things she needed, and a notebook for me. I put the by my bed when I got home, along with a couple of pencils so I can jot down ideas that come in the night without having to leave my room So help me, I feel like I'm starting to do things like a "real author," if that makes sense. After Walmart, we went to the ice cream parlor, and I got a chocolate fudge popsicle. My nurse ran another errand on the way home. {Smile}

At home, I got onto my computer, where I watched videos and read articles on the web. Then I wrote my notes from earlier into my story, and added a little more, though not much. Then I did some research for my story. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I also spotted that pair of high-level taskforces, and joined on my eighth best badge collector, who's still looking for a few badges from it. While waiting for it to start, I talked with Kitten and Dennis. Kitten joined the taskforces, but not Dennis. I didn't get the missing badges this time, either. I squeezed in reading a comic on the web, then realized that Kitten wanted to redo the taskforces. They were sure that at easy settings the badges would be really simple. No, they weren't. I didn't get them that time, either, though we did the bare minimum. This ran me right up to dinner time, so I took a break for that. {Smile}

After dinner I wrote up Sunday's daily update and read more comics on the web during breaks. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dennis and Kitten. Dennis and I talked, but Dennis was too tired to team. So, he and I said goodnight and he left. I also talked with Kitten. I asked about a character that they're fixing up. I checked my stores, and gave them some supplies I have on hand, but don't currently need for a character. They left, tired, but thankful. I checked some things they'd mentioned for getting badges and tried some other stuff. then I made notes in this, with comics on the web, Cross Stitch World, and in-game auction house and storage on City of Heroes: Homecoming during breaks. When I finished making notes in this, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming again before I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 11, 2026

On Sunday I woke up late, meaning at 9 when my Sunday alarm is supposed to be 8:45. Looking at the alarm on my phone, I discovered that it was set to vibrate but not make sound. I fixed this for the future, and made-up time fairly well while getting ready for the day. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. We arrived near the end of the announcements, which is pretty normal for us on days the alarm goes off normally. They'd run out of service sheets, but someone gave me and my nurse one, and hymnals to sing from, too. Without those, it's hard to participate where the audience is expected to. The service was very nice. I sat with my main nurse, since Auntie Barbara was busy with two students for Sunday School. It was a nice service. {Smile}

Afterwards, I had lunch on the lanai with my main nurse and Auntie Barbara. Then my nurse left, while I stayed with Auntie Barbara. I waited for her to be ready to leave, but my phone's battery was drained. I went looking for Auntie Barbara and learned we aren't using the main parish hall. It's rented out to some other group. I did find Auntie Barbara. We went to Island naturals when we left church. I got raisins, and checked the cranberries, but they were far too expensive. After Island Naturals, we went to Charlotte's. She's still at home, but hopes to go to Life Care Center, the nursing home Dad was in at the end, this week. We had a nice visit with Charlotte. Then Auntie Barbara took me home. {Smile}

Back at home I got onto my computer. I watched more videos on the web than I meant to. I also chatted on Discord with a few friends. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late for me int he afternoon. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I hunted by myself soloed on my higher-level teen supergroup member until Pierogies said hi. We teamed up and did most of a story arc. We stopped when we reached the last mission. I had around fifteen minutes to dinner and the mission typically takes more like an hour. We tried to watch the beginning of a movie together, but I barely got the website set up for my use before I was called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I began to write up Saturday's daily update while I finished my tea. Then I broke to cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Next, I finished writing up Saturday's daily update, taking breaks to read comics on the web, and to contribute to conversations my friends were having on Discord, the chat server. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late. I began to hunt by myself on my teen supergroup member, but I didn't get far before Pierogies said hi. We teamed up and did that 1-hour mission, finishing that story arc. I discovered my experience was off when I didn't want it to be near the end of the mission. Then we began the next contact with two quick hunts. Then we said goodnight because Pierogies was sleepy. I hunted on the same low-level character to gain the level I'd hoped to gain in the mission. Next, I did some in-game auction house, storage and crafting before I started making notes in this. I did take a break for more in-game auction house, storage and crafting, and another break for Cross Stitch World before I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily update, January 10, 2026

 The night before Saturday, I got the same error out of my blood pressure monitor over a dozen times.  I tried new batteries, which had fixed this at least once before, and got the same result. Then I tried the old batteries from the blood pressure monitor in my lantern They worked great there. So, after dinner the next day, I got my main nurse to help me pick out a new one and ordered it on Amazon. The one I replaced was 5 to 8 years old and used daily, so it wasn't unreasonable if it was just time for a new one.  {Smile}

Also, after lunch, my main nurse and I went out. First, we got a popsicle at the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens. Then we went over to Prince Kuhio Plaza to walk around. We ran into Anne from church and chatted briefly. We also passed the comic shop, which was finally empty of furniture, comics, people and dog. My main nurse suggested they might have gotten to use it rent-free. That makes sense, or maybe a special low rate if they were only closed. With something like that, yeah, use the store instead of your own home for this. After the walk, we went home again. {Smile}

After breakfast, I read a little from a memoir about writing by Stephen King that my writing teacher recommends. Then I watched videos and read articles on the web. I also got into a conversation between Kitten and Dennis on Discord, the chat server. Then I got out my story and worked on it right through lunch. I made minor revisions and accepted all changes that weren't new that day. After that, I copied it to Google's cloud word processing thing. I made a few more minor revisions. I thought about the next step, but my main nurse was ready to go out, so we did. When we got back, I read articles and watched videos on the web. I also checked Discord, the chat server, and had a conversation with Kitten. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. I went back to Discord to let Kitten, Dennis and Pierogies know I was in City of Heroes: Homecoming. Next, I want back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to work on one more character's weekend in-game auction house and storage. I played by myself on my higher-level teen supergroup member until Dennis said hi. We did a couple of my missions that are part of a mini-story arc, then said "goodnight in case" before I broke for my dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went right back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked friends immediately but found no Dennis. So, I read comics on the web and wrote up Friday's daily update before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends again. Then I checked the in-game auction house before I started playing by myself on my higher-level teen supergroup member. I got most of her hunts for her current level done before Dr. Faustus said hi. I helped on a mission of theirs in the post-apocalyptic area. Next, we said goodnight. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. After that, I made notes in this with minimal break. I got done early enough that I did a little more auction house storage and crafting in City of Heroes: Homecoming before I said the Lord's Prayer and read forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 9, 2026

On Friday after breakfast, I took more time getting ready for my Ballroom Dance: Samba class than I meant to. I forgot how early that really is for me. Not that most folks consider 10:30 early, but I do. My main nurse took me to class. Somehow, I got there enough before class started to pay for the class while it was getting started. I think they were starting a bit late. I also think Samba is more energetic than most of the dances we've learned so far, or at least the piece we're learning it to is faster than his previous picks. I'll need to improve my stamina to keep it up for a piece or more. {Smile}

After class, my main nurse took me to the Hawaiian Medical Service Association, or HMSA, my health insurance company. I learned that a rather large bill was just the monthly bill for my health insurance. The autopay needs to be reinstated, but I didn't have time for that Friday, not when the wait could be over an hour, I hadn't eaten lunch, and it was already well into my usual lunch time. My blood sugar is strict about mealtimes. So, I just paid the bill and left. My main nurse took me home after that. {Smile}

At home, lunch was a sandwich for a little treat. I watched quite a few videos on the web during and after lunch, before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did much of my beginning-of-the-weekend auction house and storage on a few characters, ending on the lower-level villain supergroup member. I took that one to the villain supergroup meeting when Dr. Faustus asked about that a little early. He and the leader were already there. No one else was expected, and no one came unexpected. We did a couple of holiday missions for badges. Then ran a strike force with two non-members because it's tough for only three/ I got a badge from it too when it ended. Then the meeting broke up. I did some more auction house, storage and crafting before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I watched a few videos on the web. Then I several comics on the web after I discovered one that I've been avoiding didn't do what I feared. When characters get embarrassed, I tend to feel embarrassed on their behalf, which is awkward for me as a reader. Somehow, this actually avoided most of that, despite foreshadowing. Next, I wrote up Thursday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. I also checked on my friends who play the game and talked briefly with Ulty and Jenny's Player. Then I took a fair while to make a costume for my higher-level teen supergroup member, I'm not really happy with it, but this opens up roleplaying possibilities that might even lead to getting help from a friend. Doing this reminded me that at her level, she could open up another costume slot with a hunt, so I hunted on that character, opening the costume slot, as well as doing other hunts for more usual contacts. I continued this until I realized it was late. I quickly did a little auction house and storage on that character. After that, I made notes in this with minimal breaks. Then I checked characters quickly in City of Heroes: Homecoming before I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day to close my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 8, 2026

On Thursday, I started my online counselling appointment during breakfast. I had a good session. We covered some ground we hadn't before, and made some progress. {Smile}

After the appointment, I read two or three articles on the web before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked some of my characters, then began to solo. I stopped to watch videos on the web while I ate lunch. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I found Pierogies, and we talked. Then we teamed up on low-level characters. I was on the one I've been playing a lot recently. We the first story arc in a series of four that Pierogies has mentioned loving. After that, he had to leave, but Kitten arrived at the same time. He told me to keep playing it with Kitten, but I thought Kitten would enjoy seeing the character they designed progress a little, even if it's only clearing some missions. So, I switched to that character, and did a few of their missions, finishing one contact, and working on another. After that, it was close enough to dinner, I just started writing Wednesday's daily update rather than getting into a new mission. Sure enough, i was soon called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up more of Wednesday's daily update. I took a break to clean myself up with the help of my main nurse, then went back to finish the update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on the character Kitten designed until Dr. Faustus said hi. Then I stopped and got my lower-level villain supergroup member. we did a few of Dr. Faustus's missions. Kitten joined us and did much of that with us. I also talked with Nox on Discord, the chat server. I left them slightly early, and did a little auction house, storage and crafting before I began making notes in this, with breaks for articles and videos on the web, I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and St. Francis's Prayer and also by reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 7, 2026

Wednesday was a day of phone calls. I called my financial adviser a while after breakfast and checked about a situation that had come up. I and learned they couldn't do what I was concerned about. We talked about some other things we need to work on too. {smile}

Next, I called First Hawaiian Bank about the same situation. The fellow I talked to couldn't explain it on their end. He suggested the other bank's Mobile might be the problem. I texted my housekeeper to let her know their conclusions. {small smile}

Then after dinner I got a phone call from Auntie Barbara. We caught up with each other, and she learned about the classes I'm taking. I learned that she's trying a line dancing class near her, too. There are fewer classes conveniently close to her since she lives in the country now, but I think this class sounds good. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer and read a couple of articles on the net. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming early-for-me. I checked a couple of characters and began to play by myself on the low-level one I've been playing recently. I soon switched to her older sister, who is late in the end game. While I hunted on her, Div said hi. We had a long talk about how things are going while I continued to play by myself. Eventually div left, and then I broke for lunch. During that, I checked comics and articles on the web. Then I made the two phone calls before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked a few characters, then began to play by myself on my higher teen supergroup member. I also talked with Dennis, who was busy fixing up a character whose type changed significantly in a recent update of the game. Next, I checked on my friends who played the game before playing by myself some more. A while later, Dennis became free, and I started to get together with him, but I noticed it was almost dinner time. I promised to return soon after dinner. I started to write up Tuesday's daily update and was soon called to dinner.

After dinner, I finished Tuesday's daily update before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dennis, and we teamed up with me on my higher-level teen supergroup member. we began to do my missions. Then Dennis cleared a bunch of hunts my characters had. Azurette invited us to a taskforce, but Dennis refused, thinking he was just asking me to wait, not refusing someone else. He only found out when she was well-started. We did two or three more regular missions instead. Then he left for bed. Next, Kitten said mew, and we teamed up with me on the low-level character I've been playing recently. they helped me with quite a few regular missions, clearing the ones at her current level. I ended with just two story-arcs to go if she sticks to hero stuff, not villain. Dr. Faustus joined us in time to help with one last hunt. Then I helped them with a mission Dr. Faustus had. Kitten had finally gone quiet, so they didn't join us. I did some in-game auction house and storage. Then I wrote notes in this, taking a brief break for Cross Stitch World, and another brief break to check comics on the web. After finishing this, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day to finish my evening. {Smile}
