Daily Update, November 9, 2025

On Sunday, I got to bed early-for-me, so I set the alarm slightly early. Then after breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. We arrived during the first hymn. We enjoyed the service, which was morning prayer, not holy communion, because that can be run by our deacons, and we didn't have a supply priest. They announced that the gal who just recently became a deacon on the way to becoming a priest will be assigned to a parish to the north.

Afterwards, I had lunch on the lanai with Auntie Barbara and my main nurse, as well as a few other parishioners. Then I went with Auntie Barbara and BJ, a mutual friend and member of Daughters of the King, to visit Charlotte. We had a nice visit with her. Then they took me home. When we got there, I asked Auntie Barbara to wait while I got a present for her. It was a large box of French Vanilla-flavored herbal tea. She seemed delighted with it. {Smile}

After she left, I got onto my computer, where I read comics and articles on the web. I got into City of Heroes: Homecoming late but found Div still there. He asked about my character who's been learning the end game. I told him that the character had reached the goal level but not started the content. Div offered to run the introductory content with me. Kitten joined us as we got going. Pierogies joined us when he finished the raid he was in, and Dennis joined us as we neared the end of the arc. Then Div left, and we did the next arc. which was short. Then we broke to join the later short, large-group event, except Dennis left. He doesn't really like large group events and was frustrated with my particularly slow pace that day. I was having trouble concentrating on reading, and I do like to read and share the missions. After the later short, large-group event, Pierogies left Kitten and I did over half of the next arc before my dinner, since that story arc isn't long. {Smile}

After dinner, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I read articles and a comic on the web. Next, I wrote up Saturday's daily update, finishing late. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started working on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Then I checked on my friends. I talked with Jenny's player and with Kitten, who was busy. Then Dr. Faustus said hi, and we teamed up. Kitten joined us as we were getting together in that post-apocalyptic place. We did two story arcs and started the one after that before Dr. Faustus left. I made notes in this, with long pauses to think about stuff that's been bothering me, with less progress in fixing problems than I'd like. I eventually finished my notes. Then I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 8, 2025

On Saturday, late in the morning, my main nurse took me down to clinical labs for the appointment I made online the day before. They checked me in but then discovered my doctor hadn't sent in the order for the blood work. I'll have to call them on Monday. Rescheduling is beginning to look likely. {small smile}

Next, my main nurse took me down to the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens, where I picked out a chocolate fudge popsicle. I considered others, but it had been a few weeks since I'd had one, and it is my favorite. I ate the popsicle on the way to Prince Kuhio Plaza, which we walked around. The sun was too high to walk in the gardens, where the shade is intermittent. Then my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

At home, I had lunch while reading articles and comics on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, and found Div, but they were busy, and too tired to team up after. I found Kitten busy, too. I found Pierogies and we talked. He found out about the character being almost ready for the endgame - she'd barely begun the last level - and ran a farm for her to sit in for that last level. Then we caught the later short, large-group event along with Kitten, who'd joined before us. After that, we tried to watch a movie Pierogis wanted to show us, but we couldn't find a free version. We split up shortly before I was called to dinner. {smile}

After dinner, I read web articles and a couple of web comics. Then I wrote up Friday's daily update. Next, I started notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late. I started with the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Then Kitten said hi, and we started to get together. Next, Dr. Faustus said hi, and the three of us teamed up properly. Dr. Faustus had badges to get, so I found characters who needed them, and Kitten got them on their new character when they didn't have them already, like when Doc repeated a badge. After that, we helped Doc with a couple more missions before they left. Then I talked with Kitten and made more notes in this. I broke from my writing to read an article and do some more in-game auction house, storage, and crafting in City of Heroes: Homecoming. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 7, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me to Kamana Senior Center for my Ballroom Dance: Foxtrot class. I got there early and talked with the teacher's assistant before class. I danced with the new fellow again and talked with him a lot more. He was mostly watching because he'd injured himself, but wanted to watch, and record for later. I also danced with the teacher's assistant, one of the gals who comes by herself, and a gal who is part of a couple that works on the intermediate steps. The last gal showed me the latest step they're working on, working with me until I seemed to be getting it. That was so nice of her! It's exciting to do the more advanced stuff. {Smile}

After class, my main nurse took me over to Clinical Labs. I hoped to get my blood tests done before my appointment with my doctor next Thursday. They didn't have the order and couldn't get the office during lunch. So, my main nurse took me home. That afternoon, I went online and made an appointment for late Saturday morning. I also called my doctor's office, leaving a message saying where I needed the order for the tests. {smile}

On the rides and in the waiting room at Clinical Labs, I played Cross Stitch World. When I got back, I made the appointment, then read articles on the web and played Cross Stitch World over lunch. Next, I called my doctor's office. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends and said hi to Div and Pierogies. I talked and teamed up with Div, with me on the gal who has one more level to the end game. We started doing my missions. Pierogies said hi and joined us, and all three of us did a few missions. Then Div left, and Pierogies and I did one more mission before I had to go to my villain supergroup meeting. I switched to my mid-level villain supergroup member and quickly checked the in-game auction house and storage before going to that meeting. It started with a little role-playing and out-of-character discussion. Then we ran a low-level strike force that ended shortly before dinner. Kitten and Dragons said hi during it, but I was busy. I did check my friends and the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I caught up on a few days of web comics, then wrote up Thursday's daily update. After that, I got into City of Heroes: Homecoming late. I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Dragons. I joined them in some magic-themed missions. We finished a story arc which Kitten joined us during. Then we found a giant monster and recruited a team. The rest of the team left after the monster. The three of us did the next story arc, during which a friend of Dragons joined us. We barely started a third before Dragons got tired and left. I got Kitten and Dragon's friend to help me with one mission of my own before I left, myself. I worked on in-game auction house, storage and crafting, then started making notes in this. I paused for more auction house and storage before I finished making notes in this. Then I read one short web comic and played a tiny bit of Cross Stitch World before saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 6, 2025

On Thursday, breakfast began my counselling session. The counselling went pretty well, I think. We covered a fair bit of ground. {Smile}

Then after lunch, I had an appointment with my nutritionist. That did not go... at all. We tried for our usual half hour to connect, but HMSA's system didn't let her on. She asked about rescheduling, then took half an hour to get back to me on that. I admit we were doing it by text, which implies looser scheduling, so I probably shouldn't have waited, but just gone back. {Smile}

A while after that, my main nurse took me down to First Hawaiian Bank to open up an account for Dad. However, I learned that I was missing two of five crucial pieces for the process. So, we had to reschedule for next week. We did find one piece not long after my main nurse took me home, but I still need to get the other. {smile}

After counselling, I read articles on the web and played Cross Stitch World before and through most of lunch. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends. I found Div and Kitten, and we squeezed in a mission before my appointment with the nutritionist. Pierogies tried to join us, but we finished before he came in. After the appointment and rescheduling, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I was surprised to find Div still there. We teamed up for a mission. I didn't quite have time for a second mission before I left for the bank. When I got home from the bank, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends and said hi to Pierogies. I fit in some in-game auction house, storage and crafting before Pierogies responded. We teamed up and did a couple of missions before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I watched a video on the web while sipping my dinner tea. Then I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Next, I wrote up Wednesday's daily update, then began notes in this. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Chrome said hi before I could even check my friends. We talked, then teamed up, and did a few missions we both needed. Then we did one of mine that helped him with a badge. Dr. Faustus and Phonso both joined us in the last mission, and we finished it together. Next, Dennis left, and Dr. Faustus, Phonso and I went quiet for a bit. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting, and I suspect they did, too. Dr. Faustus certainly seemed to. After that, we chose a trial to do, since it was late for a taskforce. We went to the contact, and Phonso recruited the rest of a team before we ran it. After that, we said goodnight, and I worked on more auction house, storage and crafting before I started notes in this. I took a break to check out part of a longer video, and all of a short video, both on the web, before I finished making notes in this. Then I read a web comic before I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 5, 2025

On Wednesday, I got to bed late the night before again, so, I took a nap after breakfast. That must have been the right choice, because I really felt better afterwards. {Smile}

Next, my relief nurse took me down to Aunty Sally's Luau Hale for my Dance Fusion class. Someone there was giving away shoes in my size. I got to try on two pairs; at least one pair got claimed before I could even try it. A pair of pink and black sneakers fit fairly well. The other pair I couldn't even get on fully. I danced in the new shoes, and felt fine, so I'm keeping them, since my current pair's soles are starting to crack. My relief nurse took me home again after class. {Smile}

As I got home, I missed a call from my cousin Kim. When I was settled in for lunch, I called her back. We had a nice, long talk which we both enjoyed. {Smile}

On my rides down to class and back, I played Cross Stitch World. Then after lunch, I got onto my computer. I started with reading articles on the web and browsing on Amazon. Then I played some Cross Stitch World before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Div, though it was late for him to be on without someone to play with. We talked, then teamed up and did four individual, high-level missions. He was on two end-game characters, while I was on the moderately high level who's nearing the end game. Then he left, and I worked on the in-game auction house and storage until I noticed the later short, large-group event was recruiting. I joined that and ran it. While I was running it, Pierogies said hi, and we talked. We both joined the later long, large-group event when the short one was done.  I bowed out before the end when I got called to dinner. Dinner had chicken from a bad batch in it, but I did what I could and didn't feel sick from it afterwards. {smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and read web articles before I wrote up my daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late again and checked on my friends who play the game. I also started talked with Nox on Discord, the chat server. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting until Dr. Faustus said hi. We teamed up on mid-level characters and did a few missions. Then Phonso invited us to a taskforce. We joined him and ran it with the group he recruited. Then Dr. Faustus and I did a few more missions before breaking for the evening. I did minimal auction house and crafting, then struggled a while to adjust the game window to get it back the way I like it when it changed without warning. Next, I made notes in this, with a break to play Cross Stitch World, and a brief break to check storage in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I ended the evening with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 4, 2025

On Tuesday after breakfast, I called my financial adviser and touched base with her. I got instructions for how to handle things with the banks, which is great to know. {Smile}

After that, my relief nurse took me down to my dentist, where I had a thorough cleaning. My dentist also checked my teeth.  {Smile}

Next, my relief nurse took me to Kamana Senior Center, where I got to my Creative Writing class less than half an hour late. I had warned the teacher last week, which she appreciated enough to mention. Class went well. I had lunch during it, since it's right over my usual lunch time. Although I didn't have anything prepared to read for the part where we read our writing. My relief nurse took me home afterwards. {Smile}

Back at home, I got onto my computer, and straight into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and found Kitten. We teamed up with me on the character Kitten designed. Pierogies joined us, and we did all but the last mission of the story arc we started recently. We stopped when I had to leave for my teen supergroup meeting. I roleplayed with Ulty, who is the leader, Nyxy, and two others. Ulty left, saying she had just had too long a day. The rest of us started running individual missions in the new, fairly high-level zone right through dinner, since most clocks changed, but Hawai'i's didn't, so everything starts and ends later for me now. Then we broke up. I checked on my friends who play the game, and worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I read articles and comics on the web. Next, I began writing up Monday's daily update. I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and found that Dr. Faustus had said hello there. I got the teen supergroup member. We started a story arc. Kitten joined us after a mission. Then after a couple more missions, Phonso said hi, and invited us to a taskforce. We joined him and ran it with the group he recruited. Next, I did more in-game auction house, storage and crafting. After that, I made notes in this, with breaks to play Cross Stitch World and browse on Amazon. I ended the day by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 3, 2025

On Monday, my ear was finally better, but still not well. So, after breakfast I called my doctor, and left a message telling them about my ear. {Smile}

Then my relief nurse took me down to my First Timer's Line Dance class. Our teacher was sick, so she'd asked her assistant to teach the class. He teaches several numbers most weeks anyway. He just taught all of them that day. It went well. I'm slowly memorizing the dances, I think. When we were done, my relief nurse took me over to Longs Drugs, where I picked up Acetaminophen before he took me home. {Smile}

I tried to call Doctor again after lunch. I eventually got his receptionist, who promised they'd called in another week of the antibiotic. {Smile}

At home, I had lunch. then I went onto my computer to read web articles and web comics. I tried to write up my daily update, but had so much trouble, I ended up treating my blood sugar. That helped, but not enough for much writing. So, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, a bit later than recently, and checked on my friends who play the game. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. As I finished, I spotted someone announcing that the later short, large-group event was getting together, so I joined it and ran it. The later long, large group event usually follows shortly, so I went and had just joined it when Kitten said hi. I left the event before it began and joined Kitten. I got the character that they designed, and we did a short hunt and the mission it led to before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back onto my computer, where I read web articles and web comics. I first struggled then succeeded in finishing writing Sunday's daily update. Only when that was done did I go back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, then got out the character Kitten designed, but to work on in-game auction house and storage on them, not really to play the game. I also began chatting with Nox on Discord. Then Dr. Faustus said hi, and I switched to the mid-level character I've been playing with him. We started a story arc I rarely play and did most of it before it got entirely too late. Next, I did a little in-game auction house and storage. Then I made notes in this. I took a break for browsing on Amazon and chatting a little with Kitten. When I finished my notes, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 2, 2025

On Sunday, I got to bed slightly earlier, but still late enough, I didn't set my alarm earlier. I worked steadily on getting ready for church after getting up, including painkillers in my morning routine because of the earache, which was back. My main nurse took me down to church as soon as I was ready. We got there at the end of the processional, the very first hymn. Auntie Barbara was out with the two younger of the three kids who have become regulars. It was a nice service.

I picked up a Forward Day by Day, but they only had the little ones. I'll have to keep an eye out for the big ones with the large print. All my others are big ones, and it's somehow comforting to have them. I started getting them so Mom could read them long after she'd stopped reading small print. She stopped reading them, but I kept getting them. If my eyes start to need larger print, I'll have a good selection of these. {Smile}

Afterwards, I had lunch on the lanai with Auntie Barbara, my main nurse, and a few other parishioners. I enjoyed chatting with them. Then Auntie Barbara took me to visit Charlotte. Auntie Barbara produced two cards for Charlotte: a birthday card from the church which several parishioners had signed, and a card from the children, who'd made it in Sunday school that morning. I discovered I hadn't signed the birthday card, found a working pen, and signed it. Charlotte thanked me. She loves each signature. After a while, Auntie Barbara took me home. {Smile}

At home, I settled in on my computer and read articles on the web. Then I went into City of heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and found Kitten. We talked about plans for my character who is working towards starting the end game at some length before we teamed up. When we did team up, we did some of my missions from a different contact. We stopped just enough before dinner for me to squeeze in cleaning up with the help of my main nurse, who gets full credit for getting me out before dinnertime. I am not that fast on my own. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles on the web, and web comics, too. Then I started to write up Saturday's daily update, but I really couldn't concentrate until I treated my blood sugar. Even then I found it hard to write. I gave up and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and found Dr. Faustus. We teamed up and finished the story arcs at our level in the post-apocalyptic zone. We were preparing to do something Dr. Faustus was planning to work on next when Dr. Faustus noticed a Halloween event. I switched to the character who needed it next, and we joined it. They didn't get it in time, but it happened in another zone right after. We tried again and got all five possible badges. Then we broke up for the evening, and I did minimal auction house, storage, and crafting and said goodnight to Nox before finishing Saturday's daily update. Next, I started notes in this. I took a break for Cross Stitch World followed by web comics before I finished making notes in this. I ended the evening with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day, which truly has small print in the standard version. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 1, 2025

On Saturday, I stayed home and took it easy. I meant to go out for a walk and such with my main nurse, but my ear was beginning to hurt again. After lunch, I was preparing to take pain medicine when my main nurse came to ask about going out. When he learned about the earache, he suggested I stay home, which I accepted with relief because I wasn't sure my ear would accept going down the hill and back. That can be uncomfortable, even painful, with enough swelling. {small smile}

After breakfast, I took a nap. Then I read web articles right into lunch. Shortly after lunch, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming early. I found Div, but he was getting ready to leave early due to feeling under the weather himself. He soon left, and I checked on my other friends who play the game. Then I worked on in-game auction house, storage and crafting. I began to treat my earache. I also began to team up with Kitten and Pierogies, who chose a Halloween trial. While that was getting started, I got drawn into the discussion with my main nurse. After the discussion, Pierogies, Kitten, and I did the Halloween trial twice because we missed 1-2 badges the first time. Next, Pierogies left, and Kitten picked working to get the last tough opponent for a badge that was itself the last needed for another badge that improves the character who gets it. I started a contact who is particularly good at giving chances to get them. Her story arc started a couple of missions in. We did the first few missions of it before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I checked out City of Heroes: Homecoming. Kitten was still there eager to team, having finally started to improve her character. We did several more missions in the same story arc with the same contact, with first Dragons, then Dr. Faustus joining us. We finally got the tough opponent Kitten needed just two missions before the end of the story arc, which is not a short one. Then we finished the story arc, since we were so close. Then we got a Halloween-themed giant monster with others who joined us. Next at the urging of a couple of the others, we started a trick-or-treat team that grew to a league. My friends left one by one, as did enough others, the league shrank back to a team. I levelled twice and made more notes in this around trick-or-treating with them. then I left that trick-or-treat team and did some in-game auction house, storage and crafting, as well as doing the rest of my notes in this. I finished the evening with the Lord's Prayer. I ended up reading Forward Day by Day on my phone. I didn't have the new booklet for the next three months yet, and the website wasn't working on my computer, but my phone worked. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 31, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me down to my Ballroom Dance: Foxtrot class. This week, it included a couple of brief introductions to the rhumba. I danced with the teacher's assistant and a gal who comes by herself who likes to help me. I danced briefly with the teacher to check that I'd gotten some new moves. I also danced twice with a fellow who's here for his third time. We talked after the second time, getting to know each other a bit. After class, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

Back home, I had lunch while reading articles and comics on the web. I also made some notes in this. After lunch, the secretary from the nursing company picked up the check for the month. Then I started notes in this before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, and found Div. I said hi, and learned that Div was visiting a haunted house base, which is open special just this month. They were offering goodies that day, since it's Halloween: Up to four not-cheap items, one for each of four separate paths with spooky decorations. I tried to do the four paths and got four goodies. Then I helped Div find the treat room and get goodies. Those goodies are expensive items that are useful in the game. Next, I checked into the villain supergroup meeting on Discord and dashed over to the supergroup base slightly late. I was still the first there, but Dr. Faustus came soon. The man who's started bringing his daughter came with her a little later. The four of us talked a little. Then we trick-or-treated to get the girl's character high enough in level for the Halloween trial, which we then ran. After that, the meeting broke up, so I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting until Dennis said hi. I switched to the moderately high-level character I've been playing recently and joined him and Kitten. We fit in three or four missions before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and wrote much of Thursday's daily update before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found kitten, but they went quiet and faded out. So, I checked my friends who play the game. Then Chrome found me, but it was too late for him to stay when Kitten wasn't on when he'd been hoping to help her. So, he left for bed. I was deciding what to do when Jenny's player invited me to that high level Roman taskforce, which my moderately high-level character was high enough for. So, I joined her and Ulty and their group on her. That taskforce helped her get two levels. I trained up, and fixed up her character, rearranging some things in a rather involved process. I also finished my daily update after saying goodnight to Nox on Discord, the chat server. Next, I played some Cross Stitch World and read some web comics. After that, I made some notes in this before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming for some more work with the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Then I read a few web-comics. I went back to City of Heroes, Homecoming, and talked with Kitten While I did a bit more auction house storage and crafting. I also finished my notes in this. then I ended by evening with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}
