Daily Update, September 23, 2025

On Tuesday after breakfast, my main nurse took me out, mainly to visit his new place. It's right above his old place but bigger and nicer. It is up a full flight of stairs, which made me realize I haven't been doing that many stairs at once. It was a bit of a challenge to get up and down them, but I think it was good practice for me, even beyond the little bit of exercise that it gave me. After that, we ran a second, shorter errand before he took me back home. {Smile}

After we got home from going out, I had lunch. Then I settled onto my computer. I started by reading articles and watching videos on the web. Next, I began writing up Monday's daily update. When I treated my blood sugar, my writing went better, though I still took a break or two for web comics before I finished Monday's daily update. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I began hunting on a mid-level character who belongs to the teen supergroup but isn't the one I've bene playing with them recently. I continued until it was close to the meeting time, when I switched my recent usual character and went to the meeting. We started by roleplaying until everyone expected arrived, along with one we didn't expect to make, who found a computer to borrow that could run the game. Wehn everyone was there, we ran two taskforces in a row since they are a series, and both have special rewards this week, though the first one we ran got a lot more than the second. When we finished, some left, and the rest settled into the base to roleplay just as I got called to dinner. So, I made my character lie down for a nap and went to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I went back to the meeting and had my character wake up. The others welcomed me, then promptly excused themselves one after another. I was so surprised, I barely managed to wish the slower to leave goodnight. I talked to the leader the next day, and she thinks it was just coincidence. They weren't trying to avoid me or anything' they just wanted to head out for personal reasons. Just as I was wondering what to do next, Dennis said hi, and invited me to team with him and Kitten, which I happily did. All three of us were delighted that the meeting let us team up. We did two missions of Dennis's. Then Dennis left, saying goodnight. After he left, I switched to the character Kitten designed and figured out she was three story arcs and a partial story arc from done, not one and a partial story arc done like I thought. We did the full story arc I'd known about for a while, though Kitten was tired by the second to the last mission. They took a break after that mission but soon came back and we did the last mission before they left for the evening. So now my character is only two story arcs and a partial one from ready to go up. After Kitten left, I worked on the auction house, storage, and crafting. Then I read articles and watched videos on the web until the relief nurse complained one of the videos was too loud for that late at night. I turned it down, but I also switched to making notes in this, with a break to play Cross Stitch World and more breaks to work on the auction house, storage, and crafting in City of Heroes Homecoming. I even fit in a prayer and Forward Day by Day as I finished up for the evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 22, 2025

On Monday, I had a quiet day. I neither went out nor got any particularly notable phone calls. I didn't even get much exercise done, but I certainly enjoyed the quiet day. {Smile}

After breakfast, I read Forward Day by Day's entry for Sunday and did a little shopping on Amazon before I took a nap. After the nap, I had lunch. Then I read articles and watched videos, both on the web. I also played Cross Stitch World. I tried to write up Sunday's daily update, but I kept getting distracted, especially by videos and articles. I finally finished and started notes in this before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends, and found Kitten, so I said hi. Then I started working on the auction house, storage and crafting, but before I got far, Kitten said hi, and we teamed up with me on a mid-level character. We started with a mission that ended a favorite story arc of mine. Then we started the next story arc with Chrome joining us. We ran a few missions right up to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went right back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dennis and Kitten in much the same place. We ran a few more missions in that same story arc until Dennis stopped for bed. Then I switched to a mission in a story arc that is mostly talks. I ran the mission with Kitten, who admitted they were tired partway through. They somehow managed to finish the mission before going completely quiet and fading out. While they were fading out, I did a few talks to finish the story arc. Then I did a bunch more talks to start the next story arc.  I got to the first hunt, which was quick. Then I stopped before the first proper mission and worked on the storage and auction house and the play had produced. After that, I switched to a different character to do a few hunts, but I didn't get far before Azurette said hi and mentioned changes to her base. I went to look at them, and we talked a fair while. During my visit, Dr. Faustus said hi. I talked with them, too. I checked with Azurette about meeting Dr. Faustus for the villain supergroup, but they said not that day. Then Phonso come on and asked what I was doing. I said I was touring a base. I continued touring Azurette's base while we talked for a fair bit longer. Eventually, I excused myself to join Dr. Faustus. We did a few of my hunts, then a mission of mine. After that, we talked. Then we both got a new contact and did her first mission. Next, we said goodnight. I worked on the auction house and storage after that. Then I made notes in this, taking a brief break for crafting and auction house in City of Heroes: Homecoming, and a still not long break involving Cross Stitch World before I finished the notes. I ended the evening with a prayer and Forward Day by Day, followed by a few short web comics. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 21, 2025

On Sunday, I got up a little early. Then after breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. We got there just in time for me to explain that I wanted to sit in one of my family pews. I showed my nurse Dad's parents' pew. Then I showed him Mom's parents' pew, and we sat in it just before the announcements began. Yes, we really got there in time. The service was nice, too. After the service, we had lunch on the lanai. I got to talk with BJ about the Sunday school, which she helps with. {Smile}

Afterwards, my main nurse took me to Charlotte's and dropped me off. He still refuses to go in. Anyway, Charlotte was watching Charlie Kirk's memorial, so, I watched it with her. I don't agree with the man, but I disagree with what happened to him much more. After a while, I texted my main nurse, and he came and took me home.

After I got home, I paid some bills before I got onto my computer. Then I read articles on the web, and web comics, too, while treating my blood sugar. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update and started notes in this. Next, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends, then settled into catching up with auction house and crafting. Not long after I was done, Dennis said hi. He was busy trying to fix up some of his characters. I got some spare stuff I had that he wanted, and gave him some game cash too, since I have more than I need. I also suggested ways to work the auction house to his advantage. That took us right up to dinner.

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming immediately. I found Dennis fighting a giant monster but didn't join him quite in time. After it was down, we teamed up. We talked, and I think we did a mission before he left. Then I worked with the auction house and storage before I began playing by myself on a mid-level character, ding a few hunts on them. I also began talking with Nox on Discord. Next, Dr. Faustus said hi. kept talking with Nox as I teamed up with Dr. Faustus. We did a mission of his, then the story arc he led the other night, this time doing it for my credit. We roleplayed more during it this time, since it was only us. After that, he left, and I made notes in this, pausing to work on auction house, storage, and crafting in city of Heroes: Homecoming, and also to read articles on the web before I went back to finish notes in this. Then I said a prayer, leaving Forward Day by Day to catch up with the next day, since it was late, and I'd heard the scripture in church already. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 20, 2025

On Saturday, a while after lunch, my main nurse took me to Liliu'okalani Gardens to walk around. We meant to stop for popsicles, but they were closed when we got there. I know they're closing earlier, but I didn't realize we'd get there that late. My main nurse and I plan to make sure we get there earlier in the future. We did enjoy walking back to the car. I noticed that a bridge that needed repair has gotten it. If I didn't remember when it didn't have a roof, I wouldn't have known it had been missing. After the walk, my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

After breakfast, I took a nap. Then, while waking up, I did a jigsaw puzzle on my phone, read an article on the web followed by a web comic, and played Cross Stitch World. finally feeling more awake, I began notes in this. Then I began writing up Friday's daily update. I switched to playing Cross Stitch World during lunch, when I realized that typing and eating weren't as compatible as mouse use and eating. After that, I made more notes in this and went back to writing up Friday's daily update when I reached a part of lunch more compatible with typing. I paused to check out a book on Amazon. Next, I went back to making notes in this and finishing up Friday's daily update. After that, we took our trip out. When we got back, I went back onto my computer and read web articles, then web comics until I felt up to going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends and found Dennis with his best friend. I joined them in hunting chests, a limited-time activity. When his friend left, Dennis and I continued hunting chests while I did some crafting. Dennis and I talked, too, right up to when we "parked" our characters so he could go to bed, and me to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I played Cross Stitch World and made notes in this. Then I browsed articles, and shopped on Amazon, where I browsed books. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Dr. Faustus said hi, and we teamed up. Dragons said hi too and joined us. The three of us ran a mission and a story arc of Dr. Faustus, both moderately low-level but I used a mid-level character who has a nice friendship with Dr. Faustus's character going. My character got a badge, which told me she still needs to run the story arc herself, but by the time I realized that it felt too late for her to run it at the same time for full credit. After the story arc, Dr. Faustus left. Dragons and I did three more missions of mine, with a friend of theirs joining halfway through. The last mission was rough because Dragons and I needed breaks. The group fell apart after the third mission. So, I worked on the auction house, storage, and crafting, with a break for a jigsaw puzzle on my phone. Then I made notes in this before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming for more crafting and auction house. I finished my day with a prayer and reading Forward Day by Day's entry of the day. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 19, 2025

On Friday after breakfast my main nurse took me out. We went to Target first. He left me looking at the books and went to look for things himself. I mainly looked over the fantasy books but didn't find anything. Then and older oriental woman said hi. She recognized me from the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens, which she recently retired from working at. We chatted about what we're doing now, especially elderly dance and exercise classes we're in, though I'm barely qualify for them at 56. My main nurse found us and chatted a bit. Then he had me sit and wait while he went through the checkout, So I played Cross Stitch World on my phone. Next, he went to Safeway and had me wait in the car, I read, as I did on most of our rides between places. After that he took me home. {Smile}

In the afternoon, Carol came and brought back my desktop all cleaned and fixed up. Apparently, it mainly needed new cables. Even the D drive is working again, though we aren't sure how much longer it will. I do need to copy stuff on there... mainly pictures; I think I copied the rest already. Carol and I visited a bit, and I offered samples of dry roasted edamame and chickpeas, both of which I enjoy as healthy snacks. {Smile}

Walking in Target was my exercise for the day. At least I got some done. {Smile}

After we got home, I had lunch while browsing articles on the web and playing a little more Cross Stitch World. Then Carol came. After she left, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I got back on my computer and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming in time to go to the villain supergroup meeting. I chose my higher-level member, since I'd been avoiding her while I was on my laptop. She's one of the harder types of characters for me to play. The laptop makes everything a little harder anyway, so I just avoided the harder ones. Our leader and another member came in slightly after me. They wondered where Dr. Faustus was. I told them that Dr. Faustus told me they'd be late about the time Dr. Faustus arrived. We did a long mission I had that finished a story arc. Then we did a very low-level trial that my character had never done. She got all three badges it's set up to give. Our leader left before we were quite done. After the trial, the meeting broke up even though it was a bit early. I worked on the auction house, storage and crafting until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming and found Dennis. We said hi and started to team up when Dragons said hi and asked to join me. He joined us, and the three of us did a couple of my missions, then one of Dennis's that was in danger of becoming too old. Then Dennis left, and Dragons and I did a couple of Dragons' missions before they left, too. I worked on the auction house, storage, and crafting. Then I began notes in this, taking breaks to browse Amazon, play Cross Stitch World, and check out a new cozy fantasy book. I find I particularly connect with that subgenre, at least right now. I'm not sure why. Then I finished notes in this, with another pause to read web comics. I finished my evening with a prayer and reading Forward Day by Day, followed by a little Amazon shopping. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 18, 2025

On Thursday, I got a call from Carol in the afternoon asking for my computer's passcode and making tentative arrangements to drop it off the next day. That's if it's ready, of course, but she hoped it would be by then. {Smile}

No real exercise, since I stayed home and took it easy, but that should change soon. {Smile}

After breakfast, I watched videos on the web until lunch. Over lunch, I both watched videos on the web and read web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Pierogies found me, and we talked. Then we teamed up for two or three moderately low-level missions. The character who can go up in level went up another level just before he left. After training for that level, I got Carol's call. After the call, I talked with Kitten. Then I badge hunted until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I read web comics and articles on the web. I also treated my blood sugar. Then I talked with Nox and Kitten on Discord and made notes in this. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked in a few low-level characters who needed it. I also checked with Kitten, who was doing stuff they haven't seen before in the game. I joined them on my favorite character in case there's credit involved. I didn't get any credit but got the critter and some nice rewards. We started hunting chests, which might be a limited time activity. I treated my blood sugar, too. Then Dr. Faustus said hi. We chatted. Next, Kitten and I joined Dr. Faustus. We ran several moderately low-level missions of Dr. Faustus's over the evening. Kitten went quiet near the end. I ran two more missions and some hunts before saying goodnight. Then I worked on the auction house and storage. Next, I played Cross Stitch World and made notes in this. Then I went back to City of Heroes Homecoming for more auction house and storage. I ended the evening with Forward Day by Day and a prayer and checking my friends on City of Heroes: Homecoming one more time. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 17, 2025

On Wednesday, late in the morning, my relief nurse took me down to Bank of Hawai'i. However, a young man sitting by the door told me the bank had moved over by the university. So, my relief nurse found their new building, and I was still slightly early for my appointment. They took me after a short wait. They helped me order checks with carbonless copies like I'm used to using. I also ordered a bank card. Since they were new, not renewals, doing it in person was desirable, and possibly necessary. Afterwards, my relief nurse ran an errand of his own before taking me back home. {Smile}

I did a little walking for the errands at the bank, but I really didn't do much exercise. In a couple of weeks at most I should get back to it. {Smile}

After I got home, I had lunch. Then I read some articles on the web before taking a nap. After my nap, I struggled to wake up for over an hour, reading articles on the web, and web comics, while trying to treat my blood sugar. Then I cleaned myself up with the help of the nursing company owner. After that, I barely popped onto computer and into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I said hi to Kitten and Dennis and promised to come back after dinner, because that's all I had time for before dinner. {smile}

After dinner I got right back onto my computer and into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Dennis and Kitten, and we did a couple of missions of Dennis's, followed by two missions of mine. Then Dennis left. I did another mission with Kitten, during which they got very tired. So, I started writing up Tuesday's daily update in the pauses and actually got most of it done. We did finish the mission and said goodnight. Then Dr. Faustus said hi. I quickly finished and shared Tuesday's daily update. Then I joined Dr. Faustus to see the base they've been working on. It looks like it's coming along. Then we did a story arc and started another on two low-level animals. Mine is the moderately low-level character who recently reached the point of being able to go up a few levels, and I did gain the first of those levels while we played. It was interesting to roleplay without talking. I meowed, and they grunted, and both of us responded with body language instead of speaking. After that story arc, we started a sequel story arc to it. A couple of missions in, we stopped to say goodnight, since it had gotten late. Then I began notes in this, pausing to work with the auction house, storage, and crafting in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I also played Cross Stitch World and read articles on the web before I finished making notes in this. I ended the evening with a prayer and the day's selection from Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 16, 2025

On Tuesday after breakfast, my relief nurse took me down to Mohouli Park for the monthly picnic. I was late because that's as fast as I got ready. I got there just in time to get the last chicken on the table, which was the only protein I saw. Still, I had a nice lunch and talked a little with the folks at my table. We didn't talk long because the leader had us listen to a speaker who described a breathing exercise. Then we played a couple of rounds of a storytelling game where each of us contributes a word or phrase in turn. We ended with sharing recent developments for us. {Smile}

After that, I went to my relief nurse's truck and told him about the meeting including that it involved 8 disabled members and 5 nurses, one who didn't bring a disabled person this time. She'd gotten to know the group when she was nurse to first one then a second now-regular member. She has a different kind of nursing job now but still comes. My relief nurse took me home after that. {Smile}

At home, I had a little more protein, then settled onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on the auction house and storage, and did some crafting, too. Then I checked on friends as I checked out and joined the teen supergroup meeting. We roleplayed at first, until we felt everyone who was coming was there. Then we started a trial. Partway through, the leader disconnected and didn't come back. We finished the trial, then broke up. So, I started working on auction house and storage. {Smile}

I let friends know on Discord that I was free. Dennis came onto City of Heroes Homecoming, and we did two of his missions and one of mine, running right through dinner because my relief nurse brought it to me. Phonso said hi during Dennis's second mission and joined us for the end of it. Then we three did my mission. Then Dennis left, and I joined Phonso in three trials. Dr. Faustus did, too, and we got together for some low-level missions afterwards, two we did together, and two we did separately because they were solo missions. Then we parted for the night. I made notes in this, taking breaks to play Cross Stitch World, and work on storage, auction house, and crafting in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I also answered Nox on Discord. I finished notes in this later than I like. I also got in a prayer and Forward Day by Day right at bedtime, but I did get them. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 15, 2025

On Monday, late in the morning, my relief nurse took me down to Hilo Hearing Aid to get my hearing aids checked and serviced. Then he took me to Cricket Wireless, where I got my autopayment switched to my new bank card with no real trouble. It's such a relief after the fellow on the phone couldn't complete the transaction. Somehow, the card wasn't working for them yet, though Amazon had no trouble. After that, my relief nurse took me home. {Smile}

Then, a while after lunch, my relief nurse took me down to First Hawaiian Bank. I told the teller I needed a card and checks for my personal checking account. He looked up my account and told me I already had a bank cad. With that knowledge, I did find it in my wallet, though I missed it in a previous search. He helped me pick out and order the checks. They're a bit expensive, but distinct from the others. I expect to use them less than either Mom's or Dad's trusts' checks, so the expense should be rare. After that, my relief nurse ran an errand of his own that involved parking right outside a store that advertised Birkenstocks. It had a few other shoes in a few other brands, but the vast majority of their stock was Birkenstocks. However, they didn't have any closed enough for me to dance in that fit me. She gave me some tips for recognizing what I want. My relief nurse took me home after that. {Smile}

Before the hearing aid appointment, I checked a few things on the web. After the hearing aid appointment, I had lunch. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming to check the auction house and storage. I also read articles on the web before our second trip out. After I came home again, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and began to check friends. I didn't get far before I spotted a low-level taskforce. I joined on a moderately low-level character who needed it and ran it. I did volunteer to lead it when the leader asked if someone wanted to get a higher level, though I was hesitant, because I wasn't max level for it myself, just higher than her. Maybe that's why she missed it and led it herself anyway. She did apologize when I pointed it out. Afterwards, I started on auction house and storage. Then I checked my friends, and spotted Dennis. We teamed up and did two missions of mine. I kept hoping it was the last, but not yet. That took us up to my dinnertime. {Smile}

After dinner I read web articles, watched web videos, and played Cross Stitch World while trying to fix my blood sugar. Then I wrote up Sunday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends. I found Dr. Faustus. While we were getting started, Phonso invited us to a series of trials. We ran the two with him: I suspect he'd run one before I got on, too. Then Phonso left and the team broke up. Dr. Faustus got a character and helped me run three more missions on the character from before dinner. The third finally ran out the last contact at that level. Now she can go up a few levels, but it was too late to start that. I did some auction house, storage and crafting. Then I researched something on the web, taking more time than I meant to. Next, I dashed out notes in this, both starting and finishing later than I meant to. Oops. {smile}

Daily Update, September 14, 2025

On Sunday I got up slightly early, but not as much as in summer, with the single, earlier service. After breakfast my main nurse took me to church. We arrived during the announcements, though I'd been hoping to get there before them with the earlier wakeup time. Still, that's not quite late, since those are before the true service begins. I tried to sit in my dad's parents' pew, but my main nurse sat in our usual place, and I gave up and sat with him. It was a nice service. {Smile}

After the service, we had lunch on the lanai. I visited with different folks than usual. I learned that my official ceremony to join the Daughters of the King is scheduled for the last Sunday of the month. {Smile}

Afterwards, my main nurse took me to Charlotte's. He dropped me off and I went into to visit alone because he won't join us without an invitation. When we were done, I texted him, but he didn't respond until I called a bit later. He apologized for missing the text when he finally came to take me home. {Smile}

At home, I hopped on my computer. I read some articles on the web and played Cross Stitch World until I paused to clean myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I found Kitten. We got together, and I found Pierogies, who joined us. Pierogies and I helped Kitten with something they're currently collecting. Then we ran a mission before dinner, ending pretty much when it was ready. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles and watched videos, both on the net. I also played Cross Stitch World. I tried to read web comics, but the website I use the most was being difficult. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I looked at the auction house and did some crafting. Then I found Kitten, and we teamed up and started a story arc I love. I think in the second mission Dr. Faustus invited us to a taskforce a friend was running. I thought I found a character who needed it, but they did the sequel to the one I expected. My character already had credit for that one. I still enjoyed running it with the group. Then Dr. Faustus, Kitten and I did a few missions on the same characters. Well, a different version of the same character in Dr. Faustus's case. After a while, Dr. Faustus left, and Kitten went quiet. I did a little crafting and tried to write up notes for this. I kept getting distracted by articles and comics on the web, and also by Cross Stitch World, but I eventually finished. {Smile}
