Daily Update, December 17, 2024

On Tuesday, I slept poorly the night before. I just kept coughing and had trouble getting that to stop. {rueful look}

In the afternoon, we did have a trip out to pick up the head of the nursing company, who's my relief nurse's sister, from where her truck was getting fixed. We took her to my relief nurse's house to get something she needed to fetch. Then we dropped her off so she could pick up her truck, which was being worked on. {smile}

I tried to take a nap when I came home. It was interrupted by a locksmith coming to visit. She fixed the back door's lock so that it unlocks easily. It was far too hard to unlock for a while, but as long as the nurses were always home with Mom, this wasn't as much of a problem. Now that they're taking me out, it's nice to be able to properly lock all the doors. We also arranged for the locksmith to come change the locks for the other doors maybe early next year. {Smile}

Later, the head of the nursing company came to the house and had taco dinner with my relief nurse and me. She pointed out I need to straighten dining room to accommodate more such dinners more pleasantly. It might help us play games at the table, too. {Smile}

I did two of my head exercises during a lull in City of Heroes, and the other three right after I was done playing for the evening. After a break writing and making note in this, I did my arm resistance exercises and my arm swinging exercises. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed the web and read comics. Then I hopped into Vindictus, playing with mercenaries and doing battles until our trip out, mostly on my mid-level character. After our trip, I took that nap both before and after the locksmith, Then I checked Vindictus again before switching to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten and Pierogies, and we continued the mid-level villain missions he'd picked the other day. Dennis joined us, too. I teamed with the three of them until I left for dinner, which I ate in the dining room with the relief nurse and the head of the nursing company. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Monday's daily update while listening to my relief nurse and the head of the nursing company try a Big Island themed Monopoly. We'll have to play it sometime. My writing included breaks for Cross Stitch World and reading comics. After I finished Monday's daily update, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten. They said Dennis had just left. Kitten wanted to watch a show more than play. I picked a My Little Pony episode, and we both enjoyed it. Just after it ended, Pierogies came on and wanted to play with us. I also started talking with Nox on the chat server. Kitten and I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and finished that mid-level villain story arc. After that, we said goodnight, and they left. After they'd left, I noticed a fellow going after a giant monster and joined him. The team mostly split up between monsters, but I stayed with him to get not just that monster, but two more, and then another. Then the leader went straight to an individual mission. I helped with it, then said goodnight. After that, I exercised and wrote and made notes in this, then quickly made a minimal check of Vindictus before finishing my notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 16, 2024

On Monday, my relief nurse wanted to go out after breakfast. He suggested Costco in Kona, across the island. I suggested something closer. First, I mentioned the County Building's Christmas tree display, but then I thought of Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut factory/farm, and that's where we went. We checked out their gift shop, where I picked up some Christmas presents. Then we checked out the lower, still accessible viewing of their packaging plant. (There used to be one up a long staircase, but I think it's closed.) Then we spotted a signa bout a garden that visitors are invited to walk through just as we felt rain starting. We decided that the garden could be next time, for we're going back soon. After that, we went home for lunch. {Smile}

I got a fair bit of walking around done at Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut. Later, when I was winding down for the night, I did my head exercises and my arm resistance exercises. I meant to get more, but ran out of time... but then I spent too much time coughing while trying to sleep... It wasn't pleasant, but that much coughing needs to count towards my exercise too. {rueful look}

After lunch, I hopped into Vindictus. I didn't find Div, so I did four missions on my mid-level character, getting her more developed/Then I did two missions on my low-level character. Then ran up so close to dinner, I didn't even go into City of Heroes: Homecoming until the evening. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Sunday's Daily update, with breaks for reading a comic, playing Cross Stitch World, and browsing on the web. Then I started talking with Nox on the chat world. In got over to City of Heroes: Homecoming unusually late. I found Kitten on, and said hi, which I continued talking with Nox. I hunted a few presents while I waited for a response. Kitten did respond, and invited me to join them in a farm, where they were helping another person level up. We chatted and played with the farm. Then we talked about doing something else afterwards, but it was close to time to exercise, and someone else asked about joining us, assuming we were doing a farm. So, Kitten and a couple of others did more farms. I checked on them once in a while, during pauses in exercising, and writing and making notes in this, a little web browsing, and checking of Vindictus mercs. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 15, 2024

On Sunday, after breakfast, my nurse took me to church. We arrived during the first hymn, and I sat with Auntie Barbara and Michelle, with my nurse behind me, same as last week. We had lunch afterwards on the lanai with a few guys and the four of use at one of the tables. {Smile}

Next, my nurse and I went to Safeway for medicine I was out of and a few groceries he knew we were low on. Then we went home. {Smile}

I got a fair bit of walking done while my nurse and I were at Safeway. Later, after teaming much of the evening on City of Heroes: Homecoming, I did my head exercises and my arm resistance exercises. After a break, I did my arm swinging exercises. I need to get more done than that in a day, but it got to be too late before I did. Well, tomorrow is another day. {smile}

After I got home, I hopped into Vindictus. I did a little with the mercenaries, then did four battles on my mid-level character, and two battles on my low-level character. After that, I stopped to let my nurse help clean me up. Having them involved is a more thorough way of bathing. Next, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I teamed up with Dennis, Dennis's best friend, and Pierogies. We ran three or four holiday-themed missions before we broke up, with them heading towards bed, and me to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Saturday's daily update, with a few moderately long breaks for Cross Stitch World. Next, I started chatting with Nox on the chat server. I also hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started hunting presents by myself, a solo-friendly activity mainly available during their winter event. I said hi to Meghan, Ulty, and Jenny's player. Then Dennis said hi, and we started talking, Next, Pierogies said hi. Both of them came to join me in hunting presents. I suggested doing regular missions, since those are harder to do alone. We ran three or four missions of mine before Dennis left for bed. Then Pierogies and I ran one more mission before he left for bed, too. I went back to present hunting, which can be a kind of badge hunting. I got that badge on that character, and figured out which character needs it next. The same character also needs the Christmas Mission badges. Next, I made notes and wrote in this. Then I did some exercises, followed by Cross Stitch World and web browsing. Next, I made more notes in this before doing some more exercises. After that, I checked some of the Vindictus mercenaries and browsed on the web a little more before I finished my notes and writing in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 14, 2024

 Saturday was mostly quiet. I stayed home to take care of my illness, My nose was still stuffy and runny, but gradually less. I was getting tired of it anyway. {smile}

After dinner, I got a phone call from Auntie Barbara. We made plans to meet at church the next day, even if I had to mask up and go with this bug, which is a lot like a head cold. {smile}

After playing on City of Heroes: Homecoming much of the evening, I did my head exercises. After a break, I did my arm resistance exercises and my arm swinging exercises before it got too late. {Smile}

After breakfast, I watched videos and read articles and comics until lunch. I hopped into Vindictus. I didn't find Div, so I did a little with the mercenaries, dn tried playing on my mid-level character. I struggled because she's gotten high enough to do content I can handle better with a second player. However, I got enough done to feel accomplished. I think I tried my low-level character but gave up fairly quick. She was in a tough one, too. So, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming earlier than recently. I found Dennis, and we chatted. then Pierogies joined us and asked for villain missions in a particular zone. We got characters of fairly appropriate inclinations and levels and did a few. We finished the story arc Dennis picked just as we were ready to break up. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Friday's update with shorter breaks for less Cross Stitch World than the previous evening. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I was slow getting going. I started playing by myself. Then I said hi to Meghan, Ulty, and Jenny's player, and talked with them a bit. Then I joined Jenny's Player and Ulty for some roleplaying. As we were still getting going, TheCyberChill asked for help with a mission. Ulty and Jenny's player were interested, so we all joined him and one other helper he'd found. We actually ran two or three missions, finishing that story arc. Then the others left, since it was late for them, and I did some paperwork. Cross Stitch World followed, with making notes here next. Then I got a little exercise. Then I browsed the web and made more notes here before doing more exercise. I finished the evening with a little Vindictus and a few more notes here. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 13, 2024

On Friday, my runny nose was better, but still here. however, my sore throat was long gone. I still had my nurse call physical therapy, since they're inside a nursing home. They said they'd rather I stay away until I'm better. {smile}

After most of the game playing of the evening, I did my head exercises, my arm resistance exercises, and my arm swinging exercises. I'm slowly getting back to them, despite still being slightly sick. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed the web. Then I hopped into Vindictus to play with the Mercenaries. Next, I started notes in this. Then I tried a few battles on the mid-level and low-level characters in Vindictus by myself, but two of the battles didn't go well. I switched to City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I found Dennis with his friend. I said hi to Dennis. Then I saw Dr. Faustus on a nearly full team, and remembered it was meeting day for the villain supergroup we're both in. I said hi to him, and Dr. Faustus wait until this run finished, and I could join them. When they finished, only Dr. Faustus, one more and I were continuing to play. Dr. Faustus explained others had to leave. We did a couple of missions together. Then Dr. Faustus left for work, the other person mentioned having stuff to do, and I left for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I struggled to finish Thursday's daily update. I played a lot of Cross Stitch World and made some notes in this. but I finally got the update written and shared. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I said hi to Ulty, Jenny's player, and Meghan, chatted a bit, and teamed up with Meghan on low-level villains for a few missions of hers. Then we said goodnight. I also talked with Nox on the chat world. After Meghan left, I did a couple missions of mine. Then I played Cross Stitch World, watched a video, and read some comics. After that, I made notes in this. Then I checked out mercenaries on Vindictus, before making a couple more notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 12, 2024

On Thursday, my regular nurse was back when I got up. Durig breakfast, my priest called. Turns out you can't do Facetime on an Android phone, so I listened while she did the short service of blessing Mom's body. It sounded so much like Dad's Last Rites. I can't remember them much when I try, but I recognized them when she said them. {Smile}

After that, I had my regular counselling appointment. I actually checked in slightly early, because I started right after Mom's service. Counselling went, I thought. {Smile}

After dinner, I got a phone call from Auntie Barbara. It was wonderful getting to catch up with her, and talk about future plans. {Smile}

After playing on City of Heroes: Homecoming much of the evening, I did my head exercises and my arm resistance exercises. 

After counselling, I read comics and browsed the web, then I had lunch, and started on Vindictus. I went straight to high-level character because I wanted to make one level that she was most of the way to so I could use an in-game coupon before it expires. I started doing battles, and pushed myself to gain that level, even finding tougher battles to work more quickly. They were almost too tough, but not quite. and I did gain the level. Then I then did some particularly easy battles to make a quota. Next, I took a break to clean myself up. Wehn I came out, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dennis and Kitten in a league for going after a winter monster. I tried to join, but missed the join event prompt, so didn't go with them. Pierogies came in while I was waiting for them to finish. Pierogies, Kitten, Dennis and I teamed up with Kitten and Dinnis got done, which wasn't long. then we did five quick holiday-themed missions, though Dennis wanted them even quicker. Next, I said goodnight and headed off to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I struggled to complete Wednesday's daily update. I played a lot of Cross Stitch World, and started notes in this while trying to write my update, but I finally did finish the update. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten in a strike force and started playing by myself while I waited for them to finish. I eventually started talking with Ulty, and joined her in a "light role-playing" mission group. Then Kitten got out of her strike force when I was busy in the mission. However, the group seemed to be breaking up, so I waited for them to do so rather longer than I expected. I finally excused myself and went to join Kitten. She joined me in a team but went quiet before we could actually do anything I feel so bad about not responding more quickly. I also talked with Nox on chat server. When Kitten went quiet, I went back to solo play. Then I exercised a little. After that, I made notes and wrote in this. Next, I hopped into Vindictus, mainly to talk with mercenaries. Lastly, I came back out to make notes and write in this before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 11, 2024

On Wednesday, I woke up with sore throat, so I spent the day social distancing. I got a phone call from Homelani memorial park about planning for Mom. {smile}

Then I got a phone call from our priest, who arranged to do Mom's blessing the next morning, and mentioned FaceTime to let me attend while social distancing, because I don't want anyone else to catch the sore throat and get enough worse a case to find out what can come with it. {smile}

Before lunch, the head of nursing company came to sit with me and talk for a while. while my nurse left for doctor's appointment. However, the head of the nursing company had to leave before my nurse came back, not that I can't handle being alone. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise on Wednesday. My sore throat eased over the day, but not quite enough to make it easy to find enough energy to exercise before bedtime. {smile}

Around the morning phone calls I wrote up Tuesday's daily update. Then after lunch, I headed into Vindictus. I didn't find Div, so I played all three characters: my high-level character, my mid-level character, and my low-level character. Next, I went over to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Dennis, Pierogies, and Kitten, and we did a couple of Pierogies's missions. After that, I said goodnight and went to have dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, Kitten was on. We teamed up and ran a mission fine. However, at the beginning of a second mission, they went quiet. I tried tfor a fair while to do it by myself, but it was simply set too hard for me to that on the character I had, and I and I couldn't reset it with them in it. When I decided I'd done enough, I talked with Ulty, and with Nox on the chat world. With no exercise to concern myself with, I hopped back into Vindictus, where I talked to mercenaries and did a battle on my high-level character. Then I did some research on Vindictus, trying to figure out a coupon I realized I need to use fairly soon. After that, I made notes in this before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 10, 2024

Tuesday was our former nurse's first day as my new relief nurse. He was up when I came out of my room and greeted me happily. It's nice having him around again. I'm enjoying our time together. {Smile}

That afternoon, I tried getting into his truck, which is rather high off the ground. He says it can handle a fully washed-out road. With the help of a portable step our main nurse found yesterday and a couple of built in steps in the truck, I managed pretty well. So, we ran an errand in the midafternoon. Yes, I can ride in that truck. {Smile}

After dinner, I got a phone call from Auntie Barbara. We talked about how we're doing. {Smile}

After playing on City of heroes: Homecoming much of the evening, I did my salsa dancing warmup. I was unsteady, but not so bad I had to stop dancing, so I kept at it. I tried to treat my blood sugar and rested, then tried again. I was still unsteady. I stopped and tried something different to treat my blood sugar this worked, and I did a piece. By the end, I felt tired enough, didn't go on to another piece. however, I did get about 17 1/2 minutes of salsa dancing despite the dizziness. 

After breakfast with my nurse, I hopped onto my computer and wrote up Sunday's daily update. I also read a comic and browsed the web. Around lunch time, I hopped into Vindictus. I found Div there, so we teamed up We did a couple of my missions on my high-level character, and three missions on my low-level. Then we parted so my nurse and I could try the step into his truck, which did work I went back to paperwork in Vindictus, then stopped for the errand with my nurse. After the errand, I got into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where Dennis found me immediately. We teamed up, talking and running a holiday mission. Then we said goodnight and I left for a dinner of tacos. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Monday's daily update, with breaks for web browsing, Cross Stitch World, and Auntie Barbara's phone call. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: homecoming, where I began hunting by myself. Next, Pierogies came in and said hi. We teamed up and did a farm. Then we said goodnight and he left. After that, I did some paperwork and chatted with Nox on the chat server a little. I also tried my exercise, with Vindictus mercenaries during the largest break. After that, I made notes and wrote in this, with a break for researching stuff in Vindictus, both on the web and in the game. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 9, 2024

On Monday, a while after lunch, my nurse took me down to Dodo Mortuary's office.  I initialed a lot and signed stuff too, in preparation for them taking Mom. They planned to do that the next day. They say I should call the memorial park and my priest tomorrow to make arrangements with them, but I'm going to wait a couple of days. This appointment delayed our former nurse's first day as my relief nurse. It wouldn't have if I'd checked with my main nurse and scheduled this for when he expected to be on. He left too early Tuesday to do it include him then, so I'll include him when he comes back. {Smile}

After the mortuary, we ran a couple of errands before going back home. {Smile}

I did my head exercises just a little earlier in the evening than usual, during a lull in playing on City of Heroes: Homecoming. After a short break, I did my arm resistance exercises. After a short break, I did my salsa dancing warmup set. after a longer break, I did my less structured salsa dancing set, for a little over 20 minutes of salsa dancing. Yes, I did it with my abdomen held in and my pelvic floor held up. {Smile}

After breakfast with my nurse, I wrote up Friday's daily update and shared it. Then I read comics and ate lunch. Next came paperwork in City of Heroes: Homecoming until time to leave for my appointment with the mortuary. After we got back, I hopped into Vindictus. I didn't find no Div, but I spent time chatting with the mercenaries, which is a major way to get to know them and their stories. I didn't so any missions. I just went on to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dennis, and we teamed up. We talked while we hunted for presents, A seasonal activity of the winter event, which started recently. Pierogies joined us, and the three of us continued hunting presents. Then we started a mission of mine that Dennis picked. Pierogies switched characters because his was slightly low for it. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Saturday's daily update, with breaks for Cross Stitch World and reading a longer comic. T hen I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then I talked with Ulty, and teamed up with her to do a quick hunt she was working on. Next, we split up. I did some hunts of my own on the same character. Then I switched to a character who I just picked up missions for. I will run them some other time. After that, I started my exercises and made notes and wrote in this. Next came dancing, with Vindictus mercenaries before more dancing. After that, I watched some videos and made more notes in this, with a little web browsing, too. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 8, 2024

On Sunday, my nurse got me up slightly early. After breakfast, my nurse took me down to church. They had a nametag ready for him. We got there slightly early; I suspect not having to wait for Uber to come get me helped. It was a nice service. During it, I got a phone call from my cousin Carol. I came back just in time for the short service for a period of discernment for members considering entering the order of Daughters of the King. Yes, I am thinking about that. {Smile}

After the service, I had lunch with my nurse, Auntie Barbara, Michelle and a couple of others. Then I went home with my nurse. {Smile}

That afternoon, I got a phone call from Aunt Valerie. It was really nice hearing from her. {Smile}

I did 8 of my walking exercises after playing City of Heroes most of the evening. Then I did my head exercises during a break before I did my other six walking exercises. I did all my walking exercises while holding my pelvic floor up and my abdomen in. {Smile}

After I got home from church, I hopped into Vindictus. I first talked to mercenaries with my high-level character, then my mid-level character. Then I did a mission with my mid-level character, before moving to my low-level character. I did minimal talking to mercenaries, instead concentrating on two missions, including a big one. Then I left Vindictus to hop into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten and Pierogies, and we teamed up, doing a story arc of mine that I know they particularly like. After that, they wanted to watch something. We settled on some of RWBY, a TV series on the internet. I was surprised to discover that the host company has discontinued their web site. However, someone found a link. I watched about half a season, stopping only when dinner was ready. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Thursday's daily update, with a break to play Cross Stitch World. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten and joined her in a farm until she finished the mission she was doing. Then she left the folks she'd been helping to team with me. The others were going on to farm without Kitten. We did a couple of low-level missions. Then I needed a break. Kitten was unresponsive when I came back. So, I played by myself on the same low-level character while chatting with Nox on the chat server. I did a couple hunts and some talk-heavy missions. Next, I did some paperwork before I did my exercises. After that I began making notes in this. Then I did some more exercises. I ended the evening reading comics and finishing my notes in this. {Smile}
