Daily Update, January 7, 2026

Wednesday was a day of phone calls. I called my financial adviser a while after breakfast and checked about a situation that had come up. I and learned they couldn't do what I was concerned about. We talked about some other things we need to work on too. {smile}

Next, I called First Hawaiian Bank about the same situation. The fellow I talked to couldn't explain it on their end. He suggested the other bank's Mobile might be the problem. I texted my housekeeper to let her know their conclusions. {small smile}

Then after dinner I got a phone call from Auntie Barbara. We caught up with each other, and she learned about the classes I'm taking. I learned that she's trying a line dancing class near her, too. There are fewer classes conveniently close to her since she lives in the country now, but I think this class sounds good. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer and read a couple of articles on the net. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming early-for-me. I checked a couple of characters and began to play by myself on the low-level one I've been playing recently. I soon switched to her older sister, who is late in the end game. While I hunted on her, Div said hi. We had a long talk about how things are going while I continued to play by myself. Eventually div left, and then I broke for lunch. During that, I checked comics and articles on the web. Then I made the two phone calls before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked a few characters, then began to play by myself on my higher teen supergroup member. I also talked with Dennis, who was busy fixing up a character whose type changed significantly in a recent update of the game. Next, I checked on my friends who played the game before playing by myself some more. A while later, Dennis became free, and I started to get together with him, but I noticed it was almost dinner time. I promised to return soon after dinner. I started to write up Tuesday's daily update and was soon called to dinner.

After dinner, I finished Tuesday's daily update before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dennis, and we teamed up with me on my higher-level teen supergroup member. we began to do my missions. Then Dennis cleared a bunch of hunts my characters had. Azurette invited us to a taskforce, but Dennis refused, thinking he was just asking me to wait, not refusing someone else. He only found out when she was well-started. We did two or three more regular missions instead. Then he left for bed. Next, Kitten said mew, and we teamed up with me on the low-level character I've been playing recently. they helped me with quite a few regular missions, clearing the ones at her current level. I ended with just two story-arcs to go if she sticks to hero stuff, not villain. Dr. Faustus joined us in time to help with one last hunt. Then I helped them with a mission Dr. Faustus had. Kitten had finally gone quiet, so they didn't join us. I did some in-game auction house and storage. Then I wrote notes in this, taking a brief break for Cross Stitch World, and another brief break to check comics on the web. After finishing this, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 6, 2025

 On Tuesday, my substitute relief nurse and I set out to my first Creative Writing Class of this session early, in part because I misremembered the time, and didn't realize that class was later until we were on our way. My nurse ran an errand on the way, but then her next errand was delayed, so she just dropped me off then. I found the previous class just clearing out, but a friend from last session, and neighbor of hers who is a new student were already waiting. We visited, then moved into the classroom when our teacher came and moved into it. Other classmates soon came. The teacher and other students are delighted I actually made progress on my story over the break. I enjoyed the lecture, the freewriting that followed, and the discussion that that lead to. After class, my substitute relief nurse took me back home. {Smile}

Back at home, I got onto my computer. I checked a couple of articles on the web, then went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I hunted by myself on the low-level character I've been working on she seemed to run out of hunts. Then I switched to the higher-level teen supergroup member and did a couple of hunts on her before I went to her supergroup meeting. Only one regular was there. I checked with Ulty, who is our leader, and Jenny's player. Neither were feeling up to the meeting. The other regular who was there and I slowly roleplayed while I checked other things around the web as I thought of them all the way until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming to check on my friends who play the game. Next, I wrote up Monday's daily update before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game again. After that, I hunted on my teen supergroup member until Dr. Faustus said hi. I helped them with a few missions. Then they suggested doing one of mine. Next, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. After that, I made notes in this. I broke to watch a couple of short videos, and again to play a tiny bit of Cross Stitch World. Then I finished notes in this. I ended my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 5, 2026

On Monday, I called doctor a few times before I gave up and left a message on their answering machine about the mild infection and needing something for it. Then I called Safeway's pharmacy. They had a few refills on the anti-yeast medicine I've taken for this before. Did I want to get it filled? Why yes, I assured them I did and found out it should be ready in an hour or so. I told my substitute relief nurse about it, and she went down to Safeway to pick stuff up while I stayed closer to the plumbing. She got both the anti-yeast medicine and an antibiotic my doctor prescribed. I took both medicines pretty quickly. It's so good to know it's getting treated. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer, where I read articles and comics on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming before lunch. I found a note from Div that I read and answered. Then I checked the auction house. Next, I checked my friends who play the game. Then I did some hunts on that same low-level character before lunch. I read comics on the web through lunch, since that's easier for me to do with one hand full. Then I went back to City of heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, then did some more hunts on the same low-level character, breaking to make the phone calls. as well as read comics on the web, to take my new medicine. Then I checked on my friends who play the game again and spotted Mysty. I talked with her, and we straightened out a misunderstanding involving Discord. Next, I broke for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I read a couple of articles on the web before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to check on my friends who play the game. Then I browsed Amazon and checked on author I like. I found her website and read a few entries in her blog-for-fans. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game again. I also did a bit with the in-game auction house and storage before breaking, this time to write up Sunday's daily update. After that, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, this time on my higher teen supergroup member. I said hi to Mysty, who was still on, and joined her in a pretty base that she was visiting with a friend. We talked on and off until Mysty left. A little while later, I discovered her friend is an acquaintance of mine. We visited until they left. Then I hunted on my higher teen supergroup member. Next, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I made notes in this before finishing my evening with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 4, 2025

On Sunday, I slept through my alarm. I made up time getting ready before breakfast. However, I didn't go to church. Instead, I sent Auntie Barbara and a shared conversation shared by local members of the Daughters of the King apologies. I assured them I was thinking of them, but feeling mildly sick, so I was staying home from church. I feel up to most of my daily activities at home, but going out has extra challenges that I'm not as well prepared for. {smile}

After breakfast, I went onto my computer. I read a couple articles and a comic, all on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming very early for me. I checked on my friends who play the game and found note from Div about his recent absence and answered it. Then I worked with the in-game auction house and the low-level character from the day before. Next, I began to play on her, doing a little hunting until I broke for lunch. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I played most of a story arc that's heavy on talks on that same low-level character, going through all the talky parts, right up to the last mission. That finally isn't as talky, and is more fun to do with friends, so I stopped there. I broke to clean myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and that same low-level character. I picked up some new contacts and did a few hunts for them until Kitten said mew. We teamed up and did that one not-talky mission for the story arc with all the talks. Then we did a few missions from my other contacts, including a couple of hunts, until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Saturday's daily update and checked some comics on the web before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did some hunts by myself on the same low-level character. Then Dr. Faustus said hi and invited me to a quick, mid-level taskforce. I ran it with the group. Kitten said hi during it, so after it finished, I did some quick auction house and storage, then teamed up with Kitten. Dr. Faustus said hi, and joined us. We did part of a story arc I had and ended when I hoped to. The next mission being long confirmed my choice. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting before starting to make notes in this. I took a break from the notes to check City of Heroes: Homecoming, Cross Stitch World, and Amazon before I finished notes in this. I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 3, 2026

On Saturday, my main nurse and I had plans for a walk and a popsicle, but they just didn't work out that day. Not with signs of a mild infection. That same infection had me not feeling quite like writing my story.  I think I need to call my doctor on Monday, since the infection is interrupting my usual activities.

I also got a call from the nursing company owner after dinner. We had a nice talk. We made sure I had the right email and that it was working properly. Then I sent her my story, which she is looking forward to reading. {Smile}

After breakfast, I went onto my computer/ I watched videos and read articles on the web right through lunch and a little afterwards. A little while after lunch, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked ion my friends who play the game and talked with Pierogies. We began to team up on low-level characters, but after one or two mission, he got pulled away. I finished out her contacts at her level. Then Pierogies said hi and we teamed up again. We and did the lowest-maximum-level contact she had, a nice, well-written story arc that helped her gain a level. Kitten joined us at the end. It ran slightly into dinner, but I was so close, I wanted to finish. I thought I'd have to miss some badging, but when I mentioned that, but Kitten said to leave my character in the last mission, and they'd get the badging done while I was eating dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I watched a video on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Kitten was done and quiet, so I wrote up Friday's daily update and checked some comics on the web. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. Kitten was still unresponsive, so I went on to a new, higher-level hunt. I realized it's easy to lose credit for my last mission but avoided that. After that hunt I broke the team with Kitten. With no one on the team in the mission, I was able to finish up the mission properly. Then I worked on the in-game auction house and storage. I also talked with Nox on Discord, the chat server. Next, I switched to my higher teen supergroup member just as Dr. Faustus said hi. We decided to pair up with me on my higher-level villain supergroup member. We were teaming up when Kitten said mew. Kitten joined us, and we did a short story arc my character had that's set largely in the past. After that, we started a less villainous story arc of mine. We did a few missions before I had to quit, as did Dr. Faustus. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting before I began making notes in this. I broke to check the low-level one from earlier and do a little in the in-game auction house. Next, I finished notes in this. I ended my evening with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 2, 2026

On Friday, the coordinator from the nursing company came over at lunchtime. I paid her, and we had a short talk. The head of the nursing company came over too. We had a longer talk. At the end, she agreed to read my story. It was good to touch base with them both. {Smile}

Later, I took a trip out with my main nurse. I got some prescriptions and picked out a sandwich for a little treat for lunch the next day. Then I played Cross Stitch World while I waited for him to finish. I also played it on the way, and the way back home. {Smile}

After breakfast, I had a nap. After my nap, I got onto my computer. I read some articles and watched some short videos on the web. Then I wrote a little more of my story over lunch, until the folks from the nursing company came. After they left, we went out to Safeway. When we got back, I played a little more Cross Stitch World before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I was a little late for villain supergroup meeting, which was definitely started. however, I'd warned them that was likely when we set out as late as we did on that trip out. Dr. Faustus, our leader and one other regular already there, roleplaying. We discussed things out-of-character, and decided to just roleplay, since Dr. Faustus had to leave early, and they had a good roleplaying session well-started. Then we continued roleplaying. Dr. Faustus left first, then our leader second. The other regular and I kept roleplaying and added a good out-of-character discussion on the side. She found out more about my character than most bother to ask. As I mentioned to the other regular at one point, most just make assumptions about my character. Dr. Faustus is usually correct. Others are less correct to varying degrees. It felt good to get more out there without breaking character much. We stopped around my dinner time. {Smile}

After dinner, I read comics and articles on the web. I also watched videos on the web and played a lot of Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Thursday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming particularly late for me. I joined Dennis and Kitten, who were doing Dennis's missions, and quickly checked on my friends who play the game. We declined Phonso's invite to pair of high-level taskforces, and did several missions, all belonging to Dennis. Pierogis joined us after a few missions. Dr. Faustus joined us after a couple more missions. Then Dennis, Pierogies, and Dr. Faustus left very close together. After they left, Kitten and I did one more mission before I broke. I checked on my friends who play the game and began to make notes in this. I fit the in-game auction house, storage and crafting into breaks, and continuing them afterwards until I reached a good breaking point. Then I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 1, 2026

"Happy New Year!" seems most appropriate to wish you when I'm writing about New Year's Day, even if it should come out a day late for me, and maybe two for you when you find it. If you didn't celebrate it, I hope you had a nice day.

On Thursday, Auntie Barbara offered to read my story, so I sent her a current copy. {Smile}

Also, the housekeeper came. The house is much cleaner for her efforts, of course. Also, she read my story. She didn't find the eight characters confusing, except that she kept getting a boy and his father mixed up. The boy had a name more common in older Hawaiians, while his father had a name that's less surprising for a child to have. So, I swapped them, as well as making a couple more notes about things to add later. {Smile}

My main nurse read it, too, and didn't find the characters confusing, either. Maybe cutting one character and giving each of the other eight a few paragraphs of introduction fixed the confusion folks called "too many characters." I hope so, but I'll feel more confident with more reactions. I'll see what Auntie Barbara and anyone else who agrees to read it says. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer. I watched videos and read articles. Then I shopped on Amazon over lunch. I began writing up Wednesday's daily update after lunch. Next, the housekeeper came and agreed to read my story. I reread the story and made a couple of notes while waiting for her to get around to me. I also shopped more on Amazon before she read it. After she was done, we talked about it, and I switched the son's and father's names. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Kitten and Pierogis, and we teamed up. We worked on a project that both my third best badge collector and one of Pierogies' characters needed. Pierogies left at a reasonable stopping point. I adjusted my character before Kitten and I worked a while more. My third best badge collector got eleven badges - a lot, especially for the types of badges we got. Then I broke for dinner after Kitten and I set up to work on the passive badge while I ate. {Smile}

After dinner, my nurse read my story. Then I got on my computer myself. I checked comics on the web, reading one. I also checked Discord. Then I wrote up more of Wednesday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I tried to get Kitten's attention and went back to writing up Wednesday's daily update while waiting for a response. Kitten did respond, and we tried to figure out what we both wanted to do. While trying to decide, I wrote more of that daily update. I just finished as I figured out what Kitten wanted to do, so I shared my daily update with my friends before I teamed up with Kitten. We recruited Jag, a friend I've known since my chat-world days, who I introduced Kitten to long enough ago, they've become friends, too. We ran a villain story arc my best badge collector needed for two badges. Jag got two, also, but not the same ones. Then Dennis joined us just in time to say goodnight to Jag before the latter left for bed. Dennis wanted to do a particular mission that was good for a particular badge. I found that my eighth best badge collector needed it after a bit of a search. Meanwhile, Kitten switched to a much less-used character who needed it. We ran it, and Kitten and I both got the badge. Dennis already had it but got a different badge for completing the story arc this mission ended. Next, Dennis, Kitten and I looked for a particular giant monster. We didn't find it, but Phonso did invite us to a couple of high-level taskforces. Dennis went to bed instead because it was that late, but Kitten and I joined Phonso. I checked on my friends who play the game and answered folks on Discord while waiting for Phonso to recruit the rest of a team. After that, we ran the taskforces. Then the team broke up. Kitten and I teamed up with me on my second-best badge collector to get a badge for doing a particular mission. Then we broke up so they could play while I did a little auction house, storage and crafting. Next, I stopped to update all three of my top three badgers' badge records. I shared the results with a few friends on Discord. After that I made notes in this with minimal breaks, mainly to answer Nox and Kitten on Discord. I ended my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 31, 2025

Happy New Year! It is the new year, and most do celebrate that holiday, whatever other holidays the celebrate. however, if you don't really celebrate it -- like one friend who adamantly doesn't celebrate any holidays -- I hope you have a nice day. {SMILE}

On Wednesday I didn't actually write anything beyond Tuesday's daily update. However, I read through the story so far, to start planning what else to write. What's there could be a complete story, but I do think there are at least a few additions I could make which wouldn't just lengthen it but add substance. It's been feeling stuck, but I'm hoping that will change, especially when I learn how well the parts that I finally finished writing work.  {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer. I watched videos and read articles and comics through the morning. Then I read my own story through lunch while reading my own story. After lunch, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, then started hunting for seasonal badges. I didn't get far before that part of the event suddenly stopped. I thought I had a few more days, but apparently not for that part. I'll just have to wait until next time we have this event. While I was figuring out what to do next, Kitten said hi. We talked and teamed up. Kitten helped my third best badger get a couple of badges while working on a long-term project of their own. Pierogies said hi before got further. He joined us, and they helped me finish a story arc on my best badger, getting a badge for it. Then we went to work on the passive badge while I ate dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I wrote up Tuesday's daily update. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. Pierogies had left. I believe from the way he wished me goodnight before dinner that he left for bed not long after that. I checked on my friends who play the game. After that, I tried to get Kitten to respond. They weren't in the best place for me to just leave them, so I waited at first. Then I realized my character could teleport them to safety, so I did. I felt better about starting to work on other characters after that. A while later, Kitten said hi. We teamed up. After a couple of false starts, they helped me do a villain story arc that got a badge on my best badge collector. Divi started talking to me partway through the story arc. They asked me when I was done. When I told them we were, they invited us to a strike force, seeming particularly in Kitten coming. Well, they are an uncommonly good player, after all. We joined the strike force and ran it. Then it was late enough, I worked on the in-game auction house and storage to begin to wind down. Next, I made notes in this. I took a couple of short breaks to answer Nox on Discord, and more to check and update badge records. I also watched a short video before I finished this. Lastly, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 30, 2025

Tuesday was a mostly quiet day. I mainly stayed home. However, my housekeeper called. The last check I gave her was cancelled -- they claim by me, though I didn't -- and accrued a few charges for that. She called again to make sure it would be ready because she was running late. Then I called back to check some details. I made out a check to cover everything and gave it to her when she swung by for it. I will have to pursue this... hopefully Friday, but possibly next week will work better. {smile}

Late in the morning I got my story out, and started, reading, revising, and writing it. that carried me right through lunch and into the afternoon. I connected the next scene to the last one I finished and made mostly minor revisions throughout. This took longer than I'd think it ought to, but writing often does. I think it's more work than we give it credit for. {smile}

After breakfast, I read a few articles and watched a few videos on the web. Then I worked on my story through lunch. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends who play the game. After that, I began playing by myself on my higher-level teen supergroup member for well over an hour, with a break for the first phone call from my housekeeper. Then I went to my teen supergroup meeting a little early. Two were already there ahead of me, so I immediately started roleplaying with them. Another came soon, and the leader came a bit later. We soon started a taskforce that my character recently became eligible to run when she gained a few levels. The taskforce went slowly and ran right through dinner. It was over an hour longer than usual. {smile}

When we finished, the supergroup meeting broke up with none of the roleplaying to wind down afterwards that we usually do. Two were ready for bed, and the other two and I were each ready for a break. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I started working on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Next, I took a break. I read comics on the web. Then I wrote up Monday's daily update before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and talked with Dennis. He was teaming with Dr. Faustus and another. I joined them, and the third teammate brought a friend after a mission. Then the two I didn't really know left after another mission. Dennis stayed for two more missions, then left for bed. Dr. Faustus did one more mission, then left, saying they had to leave early. So, I began to work on collecting badges on a few characters. Next, I made notes in this, taking short breaks for more badging before I finished the notes. I finished my day with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 29, 2025

On Monday, in the morning, I took out a story I've taken short revisions of to my creative writing class a few times. I did a lot of formatting and a little editing. Then I wrote then wrote several lines to complete the scene I'd been working on last. That should complete a new introduction to the work. I hope the new beginning is a good rough draft that introduces the characters reasonably well. I am looking for one or more readers willing to take a look and tell me their opinion(s). {Smile}

Then in the afternoon, my relief nurse and I went out. First, we stopped by the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens to get popsicles. I chose peppermint. I also finished off her... they call it haupia, but there's too much grated coconut for haupia. haupia is specifically made of coconut milk. This is just coconut. Anyway, after that we did a few errands. I rested in the car, especially during the longest errand. After the errands we went home. {Smile}

After breakfast, I went onto my computer and watched a few videos on the web before I started working on the story. Working on that took me right through lunch. After that, I read some comics on the web before our trip out. After the trip, I watched videos and read articles on the web before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game.  Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Next, I had enough time to do a few hunts on my own before I had dinner with my relief nurse. {Smile}

After dinner, I began writing up Sunday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends who play the game. I talked to Dennis, who was preparing for an old, rarely run strike force. He tried to get me into it, but it filled on us twice. So, I finished writing up Sunday's daily update. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I talked with Dennis, who was still in the strike force. I also talked with Phonso, who was working on a seasonal badge. I've been mostly neglecting that badge this season, so I worked on it too, after confirming we weren't competing with each other. I kept at it until Kitten said mew. Next, I switched to the character they made. I tried to rejuvenate some old missions while we got together and teamed up. We did a magic themed mission before Kitten got tired. I discovered that contact was done, so I started the next contact, including a short hunt. After that, I worked on a bunch of talks that rejuvenating a mission had given me, followed by a short hunt to actually reach the mission that had been old. Then I started to work on the seasonal badge. I realized I could get three newer seasonal badges and maybe make it easier to do to the other, but after getting those three, I started notes in this. I broke for Cross Stitch World, watching videos on the web, and only a brief return to City of Heroes: Homecoming before I finished notes in this. then I ended the evening with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}
