Daily Update, June 16, 2025

On Monday, shortly after lunch, I had an online counselling session. Yes, it's an unusual day for that, but my counselor suggested it for one more session before she leaves for a month. The session went well. We talked about things that are happening or likely to happen relatively soon. we both feel more confident I'll do well during a particularly long vacation for her. {Smile}

later in the afternoon, the gal with Daughters of the King who's come before came again. This time we covered one chapter more slowly and carefully. I am much relieved. I don't feel rushed or overwhelmed. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise. I really wanted to after dinner, but I was too hot and tired for it when the time came. {rueful smile}

After breakfast, my relief nurse and I went out to do a couple of errands. On the way, we mostly talked. I did play a little Cross Stitch World, but not all that much compared to usual. Then I played a little more after we got home. I also browsed on the web and read web comics. Then I broke for lunch. Afterwards, I did a little more web browsing before my counselling appointment. After that, I wrote up Sunday's daily update and read web comics until the Daughters of the King study session. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started with paperwork. I also said hi to Kitten. they responded, and we quickly teamed up We fit in one long mission of mine before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I played Cross Stitch World while I tried to find energy to exercise. I ended up giving and going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I barely did any paperwork before I teamed up with Kitten and Dennis. We did a few of my missions until they both left for bed. I also talked with Nox on the chat server. After Kitten and Dennis left, I hunted on the fairly high-level character I'd teamed up on both before and after dinner. Then I did some paperwork and talked with Nox and others on the chat server. One of the others got me to try a different game. I'm not sure I'll stick with it; we'll see. After that, I played a little Cross Stitch World and made notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 15, 2025

On Sunday I got up at 8:30 am instead of 9 am, Church started at 9 am instead of 10 am, but I can't do a full hour. Most can, but I get symptoms of jet lag if I move my bedtime that much at once. I've been trying to move it earlier, but with limited success and too much backsliding. {rueful smile}

Anyway, my main nurse got me there during the sermon, which is significantly into the service, but could have been worse. It was morning prayer due to not being able to line up a supply priest, and a long service for morning prayer. I enjoyed what I saw of it. {Smile}

After the service, we had brunch on the lanai. I talked with a couple of our Daughters of the King members about a couple of questions that came up in my reading. WE stayed so my main nurse could help clean up, giving me more time to chat with folks. Then he took me back home. {Smile}

Around dinner time I got a phone call from the gal who's helping me go through the Daughters of the King discernment. She wanted to touch base before our meeting the next day, and suggested texting her the questions I mentioned having. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise. I think that's not entirely bad the day after a forty-minute walk. I hope not. I'll make sure to exercise soon. {Smile}

On the way to and from church, I played Cross Stitch World. Then after I got home, I played more Cross Stitch World, browsed the web, and read web comics. I also wrote up Saturday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then Rav said hi, and we teamed up. We started doing my missions. Then Pierogies joined us, and a little later, Dennis joined us too. we kept doing my missions. Next, Dennis left before dinner, and Pierogies started a farm for Rav and me. He suggested that I leave my character there during dinner to collect stuff from farming. I did so. {Smile}

After dinner, I found Pierogies and Rav just finishing up the farm. We did one more farm before Pierogies left for the night. Next, Rav helped me finish yesterday's hunt, and a few more hunts that overlap. Then Rav left and worked on the paperwork from the farms. Next, I hunted by myself on a fairly high-level character until Rav came back and said hi. We teamed up on very low-level characters and did three of my missions before we said goodby for the night. After that, I did a little paperwork, then made notes in this with two pauses to text the gal whose helping me with discernment with some questions I have. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 14, 2025

On Saturday, the housekeeper came after lunch. The house is distinctly better for her attentions, especially since I finally remembered to tell her about the crazy glue I got over a month ago. She stuck down the non-slip stickers that were starting to unstick. She also did wonders for both the front band back walks outside, which were growing assorted organisms that made them less safe and pleasant to use. {smile}

Also, my main nurse took me down to Liliu'okalani Gardens in the middle of the afternoon. It was raining most of the way down. but it was merely cloudy, not raining at the park the whole time we walked around it, which was almost 40 minutes. I did stop for a popsicle, and picked haupia, a traditional Hawaiian coconut milk treat, though a popsicle version in this case. When we were done with the walk, my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

The walk was my exercise for the day. {Smile}

After breakfast I did a little web browsing and played a little Cross Stitch World. Then I cleaned myself up with my main nurse's help. Then I studied two chapters of the discernment for the Daughters of the King right through lunch. After that, the housekeeper came. Then we took our trip out. When i got back home, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. then I teamed up with Pierogies, and we worked on a badge until dinner. He had me leave my character online but quiet, to get as much more done as feasible, since we shared in each other's efforts. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Friday's daily update and read a few web comics before going into city of Heroes: Homecoming late. I started with paperwork. I'd just begun continuing the hunt from before dinner when Rav said hi, and joined me in the hunt. When that character was done, I found another who needed the same hunt, pausing to explain part of the game to him at some length. Then we hunted together for a while, until Dr. Faustus invited me to a mission. I thought he was doing a badge tour and got permission for Rav to come too. Then I explained the badge tour to Rav. We joined Dr. Faustus after I switched the low-level villain supergroup member. We did the whole the mission, which by itself can include one ninth of the tour, plus the actual mission, and side missions, which we ran out of time for. Then the other two both left. Then I did some paperwork. Next, I made notes in this, with brief break for Cross Stitch World, and a little more Cross Stitch World afterwards, before going to bed early because church starts at nine. I won't get there in time, but earlier than I usually do when it starts at ten. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 13, 2025

 On Friday after lunch, my main nurse took me to the public library. He helped me return a stack of books, then left me to browse for a while. I found a new stack of books, mostly manga, though one other comic, too. When I figured I had enough for one run, I checked them out. Then I sat down and started reading. I was over half done with the first one when my main nurse came and got me. He took me home, getting me back in time for the villain supergroup meeting like I asked him to. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise, unless you count walking around the library, but that wasn't much. However, we plan to do a fair bit of walking at the park on Saturday. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed on the web and played Cross stitch World. Then I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming early for a little paperwork. Yes, before lunch. After lunch was my trip to the library. After my trip, I came home, got right on my computer, and went straight to the villain supergroup meeting. I was the first one there, but Dr. Faustus and the leader got there soon after I arrived. We roleplayed at first. Then we tried to get into a trial, but only Dr. Faustus got into the zone before it filled. So, Dr. Faustus came out to join us again. As we debated what to do instead, I asked about doing my missions. We did them, though they were very low level. The others helped me get the contact I had started. Then they helped "unlock" two contacts you can't get until you do a few individual missions for each one. We did one more little mission, and a big one to get one contact, then we did three little missions and a big one to get the other. I'd already done two little missions the day before, with Pierogies and Dennis. Next, we started a new contact before the leader and Dr. Faustus left. Before he did, Dr. Faustus suggested doing more on my character, but I barely had time for some paperwork before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Thursday's daily update and read webcomics before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I started to solo on an almost mid-level character, and talked with Ulty, Jenny's Player, and Divi. Next, Divi invited me to a four-member trial. I joined on the character I was already on, and we ran it. Then the team broke up, but I soon spotted a taskforce the same character could join, so I did on that very character. We ran it, and I made good progress on a badge that helps with a badge that helps the character. Then Pierogies said hi, and when he learned about the badge progress, he wanted to help me work on it. The first place we tried didn't have much, but the second had lots. We worked on it there, and got me the badge, and made good progress on it for three of his characters before he went quiet and faded out. I started notes in this when we were winding down and finished after he left. I did take a break for Cross Stitch World and a few shorter breaks for checking city of Heroes: Homecoming. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 12, 2025

On Thursday after lunch, my main nurse took me down to the Kamana Senior Center. We got the list of classes for the next quarter and checked the classes I'd taken before. I was signed up for First Timers Line Dance already, and she signed me up for late Wednesday's Zumba Gold, too, since I'd already tried it. Then she gave me instructions for signing up for the new ones I want. I filled out the form for them. {Smile}

Then my main nurse took me to the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens, and I picked out a popsicle. Many flavors were missing, but chocolate fudge was there, so I got that one. Then my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

After dinner, I did all 14 walking exercises in a row, without a break. My main nurse was quite happy with that, especially since some of those are pretty tricky for someone with severe permanent vertigo like me. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played Cross Stitch World, browsed on the web, and read web comics until lunch. Then I wrote up a little of Wednesday's daily update before our trip out. When we got back, I finished Wednesday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I played by myself on the new, low-level villain supergroup member. I got one more level, then paused the experience to do more content. Next, I teamed up with Dennis and Pierogies, and we squeezed in two individual missions on the same character, which will help to unlock more content. I'll need four more to unlock everything at this level. That took me up to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I did my exercises. Then I started making notes in this, with pause for web browsing. Next, I answered Nox on the chat server before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I checked the little Villain, but just did paperwork and badge collecting with her. I also talked with Ulty and Jenny's player. Then I joined them and some friends of theirs in a farm that Jenny was hosting. When the farm broke up, I did more paperwork before I checked the low-level villain supergroup member again and did some badge hunting on her. Then I switched to an almost mid-level character, and hunted a little on her, as well as made some new outfits for her. Next, I played Cross Stitch world and made notes in this. I pause to read some web comics before I finished making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 11, 2025

 On Wednesday, I stayed home and mostly took things easy. {Smile}

I did... my nurse said 20 minutes of salsa dancing, but YouTube, where I got the music I danced to, said around 15 minutes of salsa dancing without much of a break. Just the first 30 seconds of two commercials, and one restart which felt about as long. My nurse is very happy with 20 minutes of salsa dancing. {SMILE}

After breakfast, I played Cross Stitch World, read web comics, and browsed on the web. Then I had lunch, after which I played more Cross Stitch World and read more web comics before I wrote up Tuesday's daily update. Then I cleaned myself up with my main nurse's help. Next, I answered Nox on the chat server before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Ulty said hi, and invited me to a taskforce she and Jenny's Player just starting to recruit for. Pierogies said hi too. I arranged for him and me to join Ulty's taskforce. Just as it filled, Dennis said hi. I told him about the taskforce, and that it was full. He said he didn't like that one anyway. We chatted some more as the taskforce started. We ran the taskforce. Then the team broke up. After that, Pierogies and I talked for a while, since dinner was too close to do much else. {Smile}

After dinner, I danced the salsa. Then I played a little Cross Stitch World and began notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started on paperwork. I also talked with Ulty and Jenny's player before I began to play by myself on the teen supergroup member. Then Phonso invited to a taskforce. Also, Dennis said hi and asked to join me. We both joined the taskforce. We ran it with the team Phonso recruited. After the taskforce, the team broke up and Phonso left. I talked with Dennis a little, wishing him goodnight before he left too. Then I did some paperwork. I also talked with Nox on chat server. Eventually, I played by myself on the new, low-level villain supergroup member. I went through the last of the content with her current level as the maximum. Then I started her on gaining a level with the next content. I eventually stopped to finish making notes in this, with a break to play Cross Stitch World. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 10, 2025

On Tuesday, my relief nurse wanted to run errands in the morning. We got out for a while, and got stuff done, too. We went home when we were done. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise. I meant to, but somehow it was too late before I'd gotten around to it. I'l just have to do better another day. {smile}

While out doing errands, I talked with my relief nurse and played Cross Stitch World. After we got home, I had lunch before I went onto my computer. I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I wrote up Monday's daily update, with breaks to play more Cross Sitch World and browse on the web some more. Next, I tried to get into City of Heroes: Homecoming, but I just wasn't in the right mindset. I didn't really settle until the daily update was done and shared. By then the teen supergroup meeting was almost starting. I settled in just slightly before they really started roleplaying together. After a fair bit of roleplaying, we did a couple of missions Ulty had designed. There's a third part we can do next week, but both I and another character didn't really have time this week. We both had leave, and it's easy to do the rest the next time the way Ulty set it up. So, I went to dinner after that. {Smile}

After dinner, I roleplayed with those members of the teen supergroup who were still there for a fair while. Phonso invited me to a taskforce just as the last couple of others were leaving. So, I joined him and ran the taskforce with the team he recruited. I also talked with Nox on the chat server. After the taskforce, Phonso left. I did the paperwork from it, then looked around. I saw Dr. Faustus, said hi, and joined him. He got a badge for four of my better badge collectors that they were missing. We also made good progress on another badge for my eighth best badge collector, and a little progress on a highly desirable badge for a mid-level character while we did several missions together. then we said goodnight, and I did paperwork. I started notes in this before the last mission or two and finished after most of the paperwork. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 9, 2025

On Monday, my relief nurse took me out in the late morning. We did a few errands. In the middle of the trip, I got a call from the organizer of the Daughters of the King chapter here in Hilo. We talked about the questions I had from reading the second chapter of the discernment. the call ended while we were still out. After the errands, my relief nurse and I came back home. {Smile}

That afternoon, the gal from the Daughters of the King who came last week came again. We covered one of the chapters from last week that I felt less certain about, and the next one, which I had looked at. and the one after that, which I hadn't looked at. That was a lot to cover at once. i suspect I'll have more questions. {Smile}

A while after dinner, I did all my arm exercises. I started with my arm resistance exercises. Then I did my arm weight training exercises, both standing and sitting. Last came my arm swinging exercises. {Smile}

On the trip out, I played Cross Stitch World and talked with my relief nurse when I wasn't on the phone. Then when I got back, I played more Cross Stitch World. I also browsed on the web and read web comics. Next, I broke for lunch with my relief nurse. After that, I studied two chapters of the Daughters of the King discernment. Then I read more web comics and browsed on the web. I also play more Cross Stich World. Next, I began writing up Sunday's daily update with breaks for playing Cross Stitch World and reading web comics until the gal came for the Daughters of the King discernment study. After her visit, I finished writing up Sunday's daily update. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I played by myself on the teen supergroup member. I finished the last mission of the story arc I couldn't do successfully last night. At lower difficulty, it was doable. Then I did a hunt and started another hunt before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I played Cross Stitch World and started making notes in this. Then I did my exercises. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I also talked with Rav, Jenny's player and Ulty. Then I began to play by myself on the teen supergroup member, finishing the hunt and doing another hunt. I also did more paperwork. Next, Phonso invited to a taskforce. I ran it with the team he recruited. After the taskforce, he left. I also said goodnight to Nox, having missed talking again. I did more paperwork until Dragons said hi. We teamed up and did a few individual missions. Then they said goodbye, and I did more paperwork. After that, I played Cross Stitch World, made note in this, and played by myself on a character nearing the middle levels. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 8

Late Saturday night, I set my alarm clock half an hour early because I remembered that church is switching to one service at 9 am instead of one a 8am and another at 10am. When I can, I go to the 10 am, but I don't want to miss it entirely all summer. Anyway, Sunday morning, my main nurse helped me remember that one service at 9 am starts next week, not this week. Thankfully, that gave us time to go back so I could get nuts to contribute to lunch, and make sure the back door was locked. {Smile}

We still got to church a bit before the announcements. I got to visit with Auntie Barbara and Michelle before the announcements as well as sit with them during the service. I visited with others, too, and got the nuts out before the service. It was a nice service, with a thoughtful sermon by the guest preacher. 

Afterwards, I checked with the organizer of our new Daughters of the King chapter. I learned to call her earlier in the day. I also scheduled a meeting the gal who helped me last week. We'll meet Monday afternoon. {Smile}

I had lunch on the church lanai with Auntie Barbara and my main nurse. I enjoyed talking with them, as well as the food, though I barely got crumbs of the chocolate cake due to going back for dessert rather than getting it on the first pass with my main meal. I still managed to leave enough for one more to get some, which was a relief. Afterwards, my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise on Sunday. {Smile}

On way down to church and again on the way back, I played Cross Stitch World. When I got home, I took a nap, since I'd gotten up early. When I got up, I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update, with breaks for more web browsing and Cross Stitch World, as well as reading web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. When Pierogies said hi, we started to team with a quick hunt followed by missions. Dennis joined us during the first true mission. We did two or three true missions, including one limited to an hour that we started less than an hour before dinner. We finished it with a little time to spare, I'm happy to say. {Smile}

After dinner I played Cross Stitch World and made notes in this. I also browsed the web a bit before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming and starting on paperwork. I also began talking with Nox on the chat server. Then Ulty said hi, and invited me to a taskforce she was doing with Jenny's Player. She found two more friends and asked if she should fill the team. No one said yes, and I assured them I'd run it with less, so we ran it just over half full and did fine. After the taskforce, we visited a bit before the others left. Then I did paperwork. Next, I played by myself on the teen supergroup member. I started with a hunt, then switched to a story arc I'd started. I did everything in it, but the last mission didn't go well. It was late enough that I set her up to restart, then did the paperwork that playing her generated. Next, I made notes in this, with a break to play Cross Stitch World. I also did some more paperwork and badge hunting in City of Heroes: Homecoming. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 7, 2025

On Saturday I asked my main nurse to take me to the park before lunch, not after. He did so with reservations. We walked by the wharf, and around by the ice cream parlor for a popsicle, then back to the car, for around 40 minutes of walking. Then my main nurse did some errands on the way home. I'd hoped to miss the heat of the day, but when I looked up Hilo's temperatures later, no, it was about as hot, and the sun was even more direct. Apparently, the heat of the day in Hilo at this time of year is from around 10am to 4 pm.  The only ways to avoid it without getting up a lot earlier are air conditioning and do it in the late afternoon or evening. Well, now I know. {smile}

That was my exercise for the day, and forty minutes of walking is a good amount. {Smile}

On the way down to the park, and also on the way back, I played Cross Stitch World. I continued when I got home until lunch. Then I did some web browsing and web comic reading. Next, I wrote up Friday's daily update. After that, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Next, i went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with a little paperwork, but soon Pierogies said hi. We teamed up and fit two missions nicely before my dinner. {Smile}

After diner, I made notes in this and browsed a little on Amazon. Then I played some Cross Stitch World. I also answered Nox on the chat server before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, but soon Dennis said hi. We teamed up and did a mission together. Then he invited Dr. Faustus, and the three of us did another mission together. After that, Dr. Faustus suggested inviting Rav. The four of us did another couple of missions before Rav left because it was getting late for them. I also talked with Nox on the chat server. Dr. Faustus, Dennis and I did two more missions before Dennis left for bed, and Dr. Faustus left for work. Alone, I did some paperwork. I was just about caught up with the paperwork when Kitten said hi. We teamed up and did a few missions. Then I broke to make notes in this. and talk with Kitten on the chat server until I left for bed. {Smile}
