Daily Update, September 7, 2025

On Sunday, after breakfast, my main nurse took me to church, but first we picked up his daughter. When we got to church, we found folks on the lanai, finishing breakfast. We're back to two services, at 8 am and 10 am, instead of one at 9 am. I am relieved. I got to see the whole service, including all the announcements that we so often arrived during before the summer schedule. I sat in front of my main nurse and his daughter since Auntie Barbara had Sunday School again. That same family came right on time. Another little boy came with his mother later. auntie Barbara is delighted to see Sunday School finally be more than an occasional thing. {Smile}

I did sit with Auntie Barbara at lunch on the lanai after the service. Or rather, part of lunch, since it wasn't nearly as much of a spread as after the 9 am service all summer. There were six dishes, half desserts, including a jar of "lightly salted" dry roasted edamame that I brought because it's too salty for me to want to eat the whole thing myself. Afterwards, Auntie Barbara and I went to visit Charlotte. We had a nice visit, which included Charlotte's daughter Mandy again. Then Auntie Barbara took me home. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise. However, between walking on Saturday and my First Timer's Line Dance class Monday, I hope I'm covered. {Smile}

I played Cross Stitch World on the way down to church. Then I talked with Auntie Barbara on both rides with her. When I got home, I read articles and watched videos on the web. I also chatted with Kitten, Pierogies and Dennis on Discord, the chat server. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends there. I left note on Discord, telling some of my friends that I'd be in the game. Then I spotted a taskforce and joined it. Dennis said hi a little over halfway through. We talked a bit, and I promised to team up if I had time afterwards. When the taskforce was done, we squeezed in a mission that ended shortly before I was called to dinner.

I read manga over dinner. After dinner, I wrote up Saturday's daily update, with breaks to read web comics and articles on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends. Dr Faustus said hi and invited me to a taskforce a friend of ours wanted to run. Just after I said yes, Phonso invited me to a different taskforce. After some confusion, I invited Phonso to the taskforce I'd promised Dr. Faustus I'd join. We ran with the rest of the group recruited. Then Dr. Faustus and I joined Phonso, who recruited more to run the taskforce he wanted to run int he first place. I grabbed a different character for it than I meant to. I still got eh rewards for running it, and my character got a badge for it that showed this was her first time completing it, despite her catching a lot of taskforces for a while. After that, checked on my friends. Then I worked on auction house, storage, and crafting on the character from before dinner, and both characters after dinner, and two characters who are in the middle of large crafting projects. Next, I started notes in this, with more auction house, storage and crafting during breaks. After that I checked friends one last time before heading to bed somewhat early for me. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 6, 2025

On Saturday, in the middle of the afternoon, my main nurse took me out. We drove by the park, but my main nurse said the ice cream parlor much be closed since there were no cars in the lot. I wish I'd asked to check, but I didn't. Instead, we went to Prince Kuhio Plaza. We walked around the main corridors, both Macy's and T.J. Maxx. Enjoy Comics was closed, but the dog was looking out the door, and I think I saw movement inside. It looked like they were clearing out what hadn't sold. I suspect at least some will get sold online. Afterwards, my main nurse drove by the ice cream parlor, but being after three, there was a metal rope across the driveway entrance, so it was definitely closed. After that, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

After breakfast, I took a nap because I had gotten to sleep half an hour late the night before. I slept for an hour and felt much better. Next, I got onto my computer as I started lunch, with web browsing and manga reading, including finishing a couple of nearly done manga until we went out. While riding, I read more manga on the way out and part of the way back, after watching scenery. When we came back, I browsed the web to settle back in. Then I left a note on Discord for some friends and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends, then began to solo on the character Kitten designed, because my close friends in the game weren't there. During my second mission, Dennis joined me. Shortly after that, my main nurse asked about a bath, but I was finally getting to play with a friend, so I said later. During Dennis's and my first full mission together, my main nurse offered to make dinner half an hour late, which I accepted happily. Dennis and I made the most of it, fitting in another mission and finishing my last less-story-oriented contact for this level on that character. We also talked a bit before I was called to dinner. {Smile}

I read manga over dinner and afterwards, finishing an entire manga in one day. They're comic books, so quick reading, but that's still more off-line reading than usual. I have a bunch due Friday, including some I particularly want to finish before then. I also browsed the web and read web comics before I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I started writing up my daily update When I finished that, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming late. I checked on friends, and chatted with Nox on Discord, the chat server. Back in City of Heroes: Homecoming, I checked the auction house and storage on the character I'd played before dinner. I also chatted briefly with Ulty and Jenny's player, and a little more with Dr. Faustus while I did a mission by myself on a moderately low-level character. Dr. Faustus said he had hoped to team up, but work needed him. We both hoped the next day would work better and wished each other goodnight. Then I started to work on notes in this, with accidentally long breaks for web browsing and Cross Stitch World. I still left earlier than usual for me, though not as much as I hoped, given that Sunday is church. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 5, 2025

On Friday after breakfast my main nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my Ballroom Dance: Cha-Cha class. I reviewed and practiced all the beginner's moves and even looked at the "shines" which are mostly solo moves. The teacher calls me a shadow dancer for the way I follow leads I also got another invitation to dance from a different guy. {Smile}

Afterwards, I looked over the schedule and spotted a couple of dance classes that look possible. I want to look into "Fusion Dance." I'm not quite sure what that will be. There's also "Improvers Line Dancing," but I really want to check with the instructor and maybe her helpers at my First Timer's Line Dancing class, to make sure they think I can handle it. I'd wonder about Intermediate Line Dance, too, but it's 10 in the morning, which is hard enough to get to for church. Afterwards, I stopped by the front desk and asked about the Fusion Dance. The gal didn't know what it was, either. She suggested going to the last class of this session next week and signing up if I like it. I think I might do that with the Improvers Line Dance, too, after asking on Monday, if they think I'm ready. {Smile}

My main nurse brought me home after class. There, I had lunch and began browsing the web. I paused to greet Carol when she came over, and hand over my laptop to her. it simply needs a thorough checkup, and I'm sure it needs to be cleaned of viruses and other malware. After she left, I began making notes in this. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the auction house and storage on a few characters until the villain supergroup meeting, which I went to on my lower-level member. Dr. Faustus and the leader were the others who came. I also checked friends and talked to one about joining the group while Dr. Faustus, the leader and I roleplayed, talking about recruitment "In Character. Then I mentioned what Dr. Faustus and I did recently with the lower-level member. We ended up finishing the story arc we'd barely started and starting the next story arc before they both left. After that, I worked on the auction house, storage and crafting while talking with Azurette until dinner time. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed the web and read web comics before I wrote up Friday's daily update. Then I browsed the web some more, making notes in this during breaks. I answered Nox on the chat server, having missed a chance to chat while they were still on. I finally settled into City of Heroes: Homecoming unusually late. I checked on friends, then started playing by myself on a moderately low-level character. I paused to make more notes in this, then went back to playing by myself on the same character. I also started chatting with Dragons. Then we teamed up on high-level characters and ran a couple of very high-level story arcs with a few of Dragons's friends and a stranger they invited when the stranger advertised for a group. When the group broke up, we said goodnight. Then I worked on the auction house and storage until Dragons invited me to moderately high-level story arc that promises a badge. It was a bit of a search to find someone who didn't have it, but I did. We ran it with a few of their friends, though it ran late. I did get the badge. Then I did a bit more auction house and crafting and finished my notes in this. Along the way, I spent more time than I meant to checking a video, which meant I went to bed late. {smile}

Daily Update, September 4. 2025

On Thursday in the late morning, I got a phone call from my cousin Kim. That was such a nice surprise! We covered things happening in both her life and mine. I need to call her, too, and soon. She's done this twice, and she never used to. I was sure she was too busy, but now maybe she's not. {Smile}

Then after lunch, my main nurse took me out. First, we stopped by Mom's lawyer's office. Their secretary walked me through what I needed to do to fill out the forms. She also helped repair the mistakes I'd made with whiteout on their copy and neat scratch -outs on mine. Next, my main nurse and I went to Target, where we walked back to the books. I browsed them while my main nurse shopped, but I didn't pick out anything this time. Then my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

After breakfast I got onto my computer and browsed the web until the phone call with my cousin. After the call, I had lunch and started making notes in this. Then I browsed the web some more, and started researching into that outline for my class, looking for ideas. Then came our trip out. I finished reading a book on the rides down and back. Then I started a manga (a Japanese comic book). After the ride, I made some more notes in this and browsed the web until I felt up to going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends and teamed up with Kitten. We started doing missions. Pierogies joined us for a few missions. We played together until I needed to stop for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed on the web, read web comics, and finished writing my daily update. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends and said hi to Dr. Faustus and Kitten. Dr. Faustus responded, so we teamed up. I mentioned needing a story arc on my lower-level villain supergroup member, so Dr. Faustus found a version of a character that character knows who needed it. (Like some other players, Dr. Faustus makes different versions of some characters with different abilities.) We ran that story arc together. Then we finished a story arc I'd started, and started a sequel on the same characters, who both needed at least some of that, because we were both getting credit by the end. After that, we said goodnight. Then Azurette said hi. They wanted to team up with Kitten and me and was already teamed up with Kitten. We talked first, and I slipped in some auction house and storage. Then Kitten left to help a friend. Azurette and I did a mission that can get a badge before we said goodnight. I finished the auction house and storage, then worked up notes in this with a break for a little Cross Stitch World. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 3, 2025

On Wednesday, late in the afternoon, my main nurse took me to my Zumba gold class. I was playing with my friends in City of Heroes: Homecoming at the time, so I left at the last minute. I actually waited until my main nurse called me by phone from the car, but we still got there a bit before it began. That was my exercise for the day. It felt good to do it, but the teacher and the class are changing for next session. I'm starting to look for something else, but that may not be easy. I'll see what I can do. Anyway, after class, my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

After breakfast I browsed the web. Then I cleaned myself up before lunch. Over and after lunch browsed the web some more and read web comics. I also began writing up Tuesday's daily update. After a while, I stopped writing my daily update to go into City of Heroes: Homecoming while I still had time before my class. I checked on friends, and found Dennis, Kitten, and Dennis's friend. We teamed up and tried to rush through a taskforce, but my main nurse called me away around 3/4ths of the way through. So, I left for my dance class before it was done. I played Cross Stitch World on the way to and from my Zumba Gold class. {Smile}

When I got home, I had dinner. Then after dinner, I finished writing up Tuesday's daily update and read web comics. Next, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found a note from Dr. Faustus offering a badge, so I found a character who needed it, and we teamed up. We ran several missions. The third mission got the badge Dr. Faustus. After the last mission we did, we said goodnight. Then I worked with the auction house, storage and crafting, with breaks to read web comics, browse the web, and play cross Stitch World. Then I made notes in this between bouts of research looking for alternate dance opportunities and finding less than I'd like. {smile}

Daily Update, September 2, 2025

On Tuesday after breakfast, I made three phone calls. One was to my doctor to tell them that I need a prescription refilled. The next was to check in with my financial adviser. The third was to Carol, who fixes my computer, to make arrangements for the next phase, giving my laptop a thorough check up, then doing the same for my desktop after that. She will start at either the end of this week, or the beginning of next week, because that's what her schedule is currently like. {Smile}

After that, my relief nurse took me down to my creative writing. It went well. It included special plans for our next class, since that will be the last class for this quarter. After class, my teacher and I discussed what I could do with the story I'm working for in planning ahead, or some of it. I really need to find some folks to brainstorm possibilities with. I see what I'm working on now, and the next phase of the series - at least that's what I think of it as. However, I don't see what's beyond that phase, though I feel like it isn't the last. Anyway, during class I had lunch. After class, my relief nurse took me home. {Smile}

After we got home, I visited with the nursing company owner, who stayed overnight. Then I hopped onto my computer and into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I first checked my friends, and looked at storage and the auction house. Then I went to the teen supergroup meeting. They weren't in our base like usual. When I asked the Supergroup, the leader told me to read the introductory announcement for the information about the base they were having an end of summer trip to the beach in. The base was a beach with shops and restaurants along a boardwalk. We changed into swimsuits and met at the beach, where we talked in character, with some swimming and others sitting on the shore. Some went to the boardwalk and picked up several pizzas, which our characters made short work of, being active, growing teenagers with appropriately large appetites. Then we went to an arcade, where we challenged each other to play games that we decided by rolling computer-dice mostly in pairs right up to dinner, which I had with the nurse, watching TV while the nursing company owner took care of some phone calls in the next room. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to the supergroup's party, which was down to six, from eight earlier. We played a little more in pairs, then found a game all six could play at once. After that, one left permanently, and our leader left long enough for the rest of us to do a four-person trial out-of-character. Then our leader came back and the five of us did 2 or 3 missions out of character before saying goodnight and breaking up. Next, I worked with crafting, storage, and the auction house. After that, I chatted with Nox and started making notes in this. I shifted to playing Cross Stitch World, then browsed the web and made more notes in this. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I worked on crafting and the auction house some more. Then I read Forward Day by Day, along with The Lord's Prayer. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming again to check on some of my characters before ending the day with web comics and browsing the web. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 1, 2025

On Monday I hope you had a Happy Labor Day if you celebrated it. If not, I hope you had a nice day.

I did not go out, since Labor Day meant my class was cancelled, and many stores are either not open, or extra busy due to sales. I did have a couple of calls with the secretary of Helping hands Hale, the nursing company I use, to arrange paying and dropping stuff off the next day so things go quickly, since it's a busy day for her. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got ready for the day, which led to browsing the web until the first phone call. Then I browsed the web some more and read web comics over lunch before the second call. After that, I began writing up Sunday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends. I also did minimal auction house and storage before Pierogies found me. We teamed up on the low-level characters we did a story arc and part of a second on the other day. We finished that second story arc. First, we did a short mission. Then Dennis joined us along with his friend, and we four ran a short hunt followed by a long mission that is particularly popular for such a low-level one. After that, we said goodnight. Then I did some auction house and storage, followed by some hunts right up to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I finished writing up Monday's daily update, with a long break to browse the web and a shorter one to write a bit more of the story for my creative writing class the next day. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with checking the auction house and storage. Then I hunted some more on that same low-level character, with pauses - some long - to browse the web, especially watching videos. I also responded to Kitten, then Nox, both on Discord. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to do some hunting on that same low-level character, until I finished al true hunts that I found. When I got done, I got a badge and talked with Azurette until they left. Then I made notes in this, with a break to read a web comic, and a teensy bit of formatting of my story before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 31, 2025

On Sunday I got up only 20 minutes before I usually do instead of 30 because the night before I forgot to reset my alarm. However, I tried to get ready as quickly as feasible. {Smile}

After breakfast my main nurse took me to church. I played Cross Stitch World on the way down. We arrived in the middle of the sermon, which felt good after I got up late. The service was nice. I sat with my main nurse because Auntie Barbara was out on the lanai teaching Sunday school along with her new assistant. She had three siblings with their baby sibling watching. They're a new family to our church who inspired Auntie Barbara to restart Sunday school early, before her trip. She said later that the oldest is 14 - "really too old for Sunday School," so her assistant - a professional teacher - got him helping teach the younger ones who are older elementary age. {Smile}

After the service we had lunch on the lanai. I sat with my main nurse for the main course and Auntie Barbara for dessert, along with the gal who's been directing my discernment for Daughters of the king. I mentioned other concerns in relation to preparing, and she suggested taking those as they come. The evangelism and service commitments don't specify daily like the prayer commitment. Then she contacted our deacon. They're beginning to arrange to have my vows and most of the officers' swearing in soon. We're hoping for next week or the week after. {Smile}

After lunch, I went with Auntie Barbara to visit Charlotte. This time both Charlotte's cat and Mandy, her daughter who cleaned our house for many years, came in for much of the visit, which was a very nice and friendly one. Then Auntie Barbara took me home. {Smile}

At home, I hopped on my computer and played some Cross Stitch World. Then I browsed the web before I wrote much of my daily update. When I lost steam, instead of browsing the web some more, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started checking the auction house on different characters. I dropped that when Kitten said hi to team up with them. We cleared out four or five dens of bad guys in a row, which seemed a lot. I looked it up later, and it's supposed to be only two missions, but somehow the game got stuck on repeating them because that was at least three extras on top of the two. Eventually we finished, and I think we did one different mission before Kitten went quiet like they'd fallen asleep. After hours of playing, that wasn't too surprising for Kitten. I finished writing my daily update and shared it right before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I browsed the web, played Cross Stitch World, and read a couple of web comics. Then I remembered to read Forward Day by Day. I did so twice, as is becoming my habit, because I understand more if I read it more than once. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming where I found a note from Dr. Faustus saying they'd only have a couple of hours to play, and that was a while ago. I contacted them immediately and we finished the story arc we started last night on the same characters. Then we said goodnight. After that, I worked with storage, the auction house, and crafting. I also worked on badges a bit. Then I played some Cross Stitch World and wrote a little of the story for my creative writing class. Next, I made notes in this. I finished the evening reading web comics before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 30, 2025

On Saturday, in the middle of the afternoon, my main nurse took me to the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens. There the staff insisted on treating both of us to free popsicles, which was very nice of them. I ate my chocolate mocha one on the way to Prince Kuhio Plaza, where we walked all the way around the plaza, including into both Macy's stores. That was my exercise for the day. Near the end, we stopped by Enjoy Comics, which was still open to our surprise. Though I learned they can't accept credit anymore when I paid for my books, so I suspect this may be the last time. Being between credit cards, I wasn't going to use credit anyway. After Enjoy comics, we walked to the car and went home. {Smile}

After breakfast I browsed the web, trying to gather my thoughts. Eventually I gave up and cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I browsed the web some more over lunch and afterwards, feeling more myself with some food in me. So maybe the morning's disconnectedness was blood sugar. After that we went out to the ice cream parlor and Prince Kuhio Plaza. I rested on the way down and back, though not on the way from the park to the shopping center, since I was busy eating my popsicle then. When I got back, I read web comics until I realized it was getting close to dinner and dashed into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my friends and said hi to Kitten, who didn't respond. So, I collected badges on the character Kitten designed until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I did a little web browsing and made notes in this. Then I did a little more web browsing and wrote up Friday's daily update, with breaks to browse the web, especially books on Amazon. Though I can't buy anything until I get my new credit card, and don't plan to spend much when have it anyway. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends. Dr. Faustus said hi. We teamed up and started a mid-level story arc. It was long enough and had a lot of reading Dr. Faustus didn't discourage me from reading, so we got maybe halfway or a little further before we said goodnight. I could have moved faster, but Doc let me read all the stuff about the missions, which I appreciate so much since it lets me enjoy the story more as I get refreshed about what's going on. We said goodnight, and I started to get ready for bed when Kitten showed up. We hadn't teamed all day, so I suggested at least one mission. We ended up doing a mission, a talk, and another mission, finishing a story arc. Then we said goodnight. I made notes in this and looked up something Kitten and I had talked about. I tried to head to bed earlier than usual because of church being early but didn't get as much earlier as I wished. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 29, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my relief nurse took me to my ballroom dance cha-cha class. We had another small group but a good one. I danced with both of the teachers and on my own. Then a guy asked me to dance and thanked me afterwards. That was a surprise, but it was very nice to get a different partner. That was my exercise for the day. Afterwards, my relief nurse took me back home. {Smile}

When I got home, I had lunch, which perked me up a fair bit, but I still took a nap. Then I went onto my computer and browsed the web while I woke up. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked friends, friends, and found Kitten on and responsive, so we teamed up. We did two quick missions before my villain supergroup meeting, where I was not the last one to arrive for once. We roleplayed a little, mainly to establish in character that we were doing the taskforce I've been hoping to do since Tuesday. It helped my lower-level member work on badges and featured the enemies Dr. Faustus loves to fight the most. We recruited the rest of a team, including one fellow who fit with us well enough, that I urged our leader to invite him to the supergroup afterwards. The fellow preferred to just tag along, so our leader established permanent contact with him to make that feasible. I also let them know about some friends I've talked to about joining. I'm to keep them apprised about developments. Then after the meeting I worked on a badge that the task force helped me with but didn't finish. It finished another badge for me and helped but didn't finish this one. I got almost half of what was left before dinner. Dennis said hi at end, and I apologized for having to leave for dinner but promised to come back soon. {Smile}

After dinner I did go back quickly but didn't find Dennis. He told me today that he got too tired and had to go to bed. I understand. I was late for him. Anyway, I started working on badges, and meant to do auction house and storage, but someone asked if I was working on something specific to the zone I was in. I said I could and switched to my best badge collector. I made progress on a badge that's hard to work on with the help of my new acquaintance. We ran into a person who attack us, since were in a Player-Versus-Player zone. My character wasn't good at attacking back, but my new acquaintance is and took care of them. We also established permanent communication despite my list being full when I first tried. I try to keep a spot open for just this situation, so after clearing one for them, I cleared another spot for next time. Then we finished what we were doing and said goodnight, because my new acquaintance needed to leave. So, I worked on some badges while sorting through my storage, the auction house, and crafting that had developed recently. Next, I finished the last badge the lower-level villain SG member needed that she'd been working on earlier, so the permanent improvement I was interested in has happened. After that, I collected some other badges on her until I stopped to read web comics and browse the web. Then I made notes in this with some web browsing and checking characters on City of Heroes: Homecoming. {Smile}
