Daily Update, April 14, 2025

On Monday, my relief nurse took me to the butler building for line dancing again. No one was around. We realized we'd left the only copy of the schedule that gave all the locations at home. So, went back and got it. It was at Daijingu, and gave the address. My nurse found it easily by putting the address into his phone. I was less than half an hour late and explained to the instructors as I found a chance. I enjoyed the class very much again. {Smile}

Monday afternoon, I checked my phone and realized I was very late to a Zoom meeting with my financial adviser and the nursing company. When I checked, I couldn't find an email with the link. So, I called my financial adviser's office. The secretary explained it was moved to next Monday because of the nursing company. I hadn't caught that. {smile}

My exercise was line dancing. That was plenty. Even getting there late, I think I got enough for a couple of days. {Smile}

When I got home after line dancing, I had lunch. Then I played Cross Stitch World before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, then worked on a badge while I wrote Sunday's daily update. Next, I called my financial adviser to figure out the meeting. After that, I started notes in this before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. There, I played by myself on a low-level character and did paperwork until Pierogies and Dennis said hi in short succession. Pierogies and I teamed up and got ready to finish that story arc we'd started on littles a few days ago. Dennis joined us. We finished that story arc and started the next story arc, going right up to dinnertime. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then I started to play by myself on the moderately low-level character Kitten designed. Then Phonso said hi partway through, inviting me to a long taskforce. I hoped to finish the mission I'd started, but I realized I wasn't nearly as close to the end as I thought. So, I dropped it to try again some other time and joined Phonso in the taskforce on my sixth-best badge collector. We ran it. I also talked with Nox a little on the chat world. Phonso left after that was done, so I did paperwork until he came back and invited me to another taskforce. I ran that with him on my sixth best badge collector, too, and finally got the badge that I've been running so many taskforces on that that character for. My seventh-best badge collector can take a turn next. After the paperwork the taskforces caused, I made notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 13, 2025

Sunday was a day to recover from Saturday. I got up for breakfast a little late, then went right back to bed for a couple more hours of sleep. Next, I got up for lunch. After lunch, I felt up to sitting at the computer, and continued to get better over the day, until I felt almost normal in the evening, except for a couple of small messes. {Smile}

However, I didn't get any exercise beyond being sick. I thought that was enough. {rueful smile}

After lunch, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I began writing up Saturday's daily update. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then Kitten said hi. I felt just up to running a low-level character, so we teamed up with me on one. We did a couple of hunts together before Kitten went quiet and faded out. So, I went back to doing paperwork. Next, I played Cross Stitch World and started writing in this. Then I did more paperwork until Pierogies said hi. We teamed up for most of a short story arc - two hunts and a mission - ending right at dinner time. Which is why we didn't do the last mission. {Smile}

After dinner, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then I realized that Dennis was on. We chatted, then teamed up, and Kitten joined us. The three of us ran a few missions, getting Dennis and my second-best badge collector a few badges each. We ended with a story arc, after which Dennis went to bed, and Kitten went quiet and faded out, probably asleep. So, I did some paperwork and badge collecting. Then I finished writing Saturday's update up. Next, I played Cross Stitch World. After that, I made more notes in this and did a little more paperwork in City of Heroes: Homecoming. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 12, 2025

Saturday was not a good day for me. It started with forgetting to warn my main nurse that I really wanted to go to Hilo Public Library before lunch. There were misunderstandings involved, but the main problem was a bad habit of mine which I really need to work on: communicating clearly my plans for going out with the folks who will take me in plenty of time for both of us to get ready. {rueful smile}

I did enjoy the trip to the library. I got five manga, four from a series I'm following currently, and an apparently stand-alone that looks quite interesting. I didn't know that manga could be stand-alone. I'll have to look into it. {Smile}

My back day continued. I was feeling out of sorts then, too. I really can't guess why for this one. {small smile}

Then, in the middle of the evening, I started to get a lot of intestinal gas. I tried to treat it, even as it began to feel nauseous. Then I had to step away from the computer to throw up. I felt enough better to go back and continue playing City of heroes: homecoming until I found myself fighting a second, similar round of nausea. I excused myself from playing City of Heroes: Homecoming and shut down my computer. Then I got to the bathroom in time to deal with the second round of nausea. After that, I went to be unusually early. I got up for two more bouts. After that, I got up to use the bathroom but managed to return to my bed without throwing up again. {small smile}

I didn't do any exercise, between all the exercise I got at the classes, both the ones I kept, and the ones I didn't, and being sick. I kind of need a rest day to get over being sick... at least I hope one day will do it. We'll see. In any case, I might do more exercise in coming weeks, with only two classes. {Smile}

When we got back from the library, I browsed the web and checked web comics over lunch. I might have played a little Cross Stitch World, too. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, then found Div getting ready to leave again. At least we got to chat first. I also touched base with Kitten, but they were too tired to play again. So, I did some paperwork until Pierogies came on. We teamed up, doing a mission or two before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I chatted with Ulty and Jenny's Player. Then I found Kitten, and we teamed up. I chose the character they designed, and we did a few missions.  I began feeling gassy after a few missions. As I was coping, Dragons joined us. We ran a few missions, and the sick feeling got worse. I felt so much better after throwing up the first time, I went back to play more, but it didn't last. When a second incident looked likely, I excused myself and shut down my computer hours earlier than usual. I had the second incident on the way to bed, and two more after I was in bed, but somehow avoided messing the bed each time. {smile}

Daily Update, April 11, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me to a lei making class at the senior center. I talked to the instructor when I got there. She said that the necessary supplies were listed by week. That means they changed each week, so getting one set and being done wasn't feasible. Also, each week, I'd have to buy a supply kit, and the only one below ten dollars was last week. I made noises about thinking about it, and the teacher volunteered that they get harder over the year. To start with easy ones, she suggested waiting to start until next January. I said that sounds like an idea, and that I'd think it over. {smile}

Then I went to the front desk. I confirmed and paid for the line dancing and Zumba Gold. I also made sure that Japanese Dance, chair yoga, and lei making were cancelled. {Smile}

I realized later that I'd hoped for one of those simple lei making styles, where you concentrate on getting the hang of it at first. Then you sit and do it and find something else to do along with it to keep from getting too bored with it.  I was hoping the class would give us a chance to talk with the others in the class while we worked, but it really didn't look like it. At home, I've often done those kinds of projects while watching TV or reading something. Talking with others in the house is a good option when feasible. {Smile}

My main nurse said he'd hoped for "more of a class than private instruction," whatever that means. {Smile}

I did my two arm resistance exercises, and six arm weight training exercises a while after dinner. My main nurse monitored them, noting each down. {Smile}

When we got back from the senior center, I browsed on the web, read web comics, and played Cross Stitch World up to lunch. Then I began writing up Thursday's daily update during lunch. I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming significantly earlier. I still found Div right as he was getting ready to leave, but that was because of something he had to do in real life. I can hope that getting in that early will work better most of the time. We talked a little and said goodnight. Next, I talked with Pierogies, who was having too much computer trouble to play but had at least gotten the computer working enough to talk. I suggested the chat server might work better for him. It's a less complicated system, after all. He switched, and he, Kitten and I talked a fair while there. I finished writing up Thursday's daily update, then did some paperwork. Kitten said hi. They were getting ready to fight a giant monster. I joined the team just before the fight. The team broke up after the fight, and Kitten and I got together. I switched to a low-level character, and tried to start a mission for us, but Kitten realized they were too tired and regretfully left for bed. So, I did more paperwork. Then Pierogies said hi again. He'd gotten his computer working well enough to play, though it still needs more help. We teamed up on low-level characters and ran one mission and most of a second. Though I'd set the second a bit high for such low-level characters, we almost got it before the game dumped us out of the mission and reset it to the lower settings I'd made when I realized how high it was. I didn't expect it to reset on us; that's new. It was too close to dinner to try again, so we said goodnight. We'll try another day. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and began notes in this. Then I exercised. I wrote a little in this, then went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Next, Ulty said hi, and invited me to that pair of high-level taskforces. Phonso also said hi, and invited me to a strike force. I arranged to Phonso and me to run the high-level taskforces with Ulty first. Kitten said hi not long after we started. I apologized for being in the taskforces, which prevented me from joining Kitten until they were done. Then I joined Phonso for the strike force. I worked to get Kitten's attention and got them to join the strike force. I was so happy we got to play together more! We ran the strike force with Phonso, who said goodnight and left afterwards. I also said goodnight to Nox on the chat server, having talked only a little in the afternoon. Then Kitten and I teamed up. I switched to that moderately low-level character that Kitten designed for me, and we started doing missions together. Next, Dragons joined us. I realized my character could now get a story arc I really enjoy, so we ran it next. One of Dragon's friends joined us just before the last real mission, and another just after that mission. We finished the story arc and said goodnight. Then I did a little paperwork and made notes in this, giving priority to the notes, and going back to the paperwork when I felt I had time. I browsed the web while shutting down for the night. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 10, 2025

On Thursday at breakfast, I went into my video counselling. I was late, but got there before it caused problems, at least. The session went well. I think we covered some important points. {Smile}

After she left, the owner of the nursing company and the nursing company secretary came over, bearing pizza. The nursing company head and I sat and talked over a fair while. Yes, while eating the pizza. The secretary hung out with my main nurse to give us privacy. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise on Thursday. I'm still tired from the Zumba Gold the day before. {Smile}

After the nursing company owner left, I had lunch while I browsed the web. Then I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming briefly before writing up Wednesday's daily update. Next, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and did some pretty extensive paperwork, including badge collecting paperwork on my third-best badge collector. I also had a brief chat with Nox and a slightly longer chat with Dr. Faustus on the chat server. This took me right up to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I checked something my main nurse was concerned about. I think he's right that I'll have to look into that. Then I started making notes in this. Then I played Cross Stitch World, browsed on the web, and read some web comics. After that, I made more notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started on paperwork. Next, I browsed on the web and talked to Nox on the chat world some more. Then Phonso said hi in game and invited me to a strike force. It was very slow recruiting. Folks are really attracted to the rewards of the April Fool's event, so it's hard to get other stuff going. I am looking for other things than what that is so good for, so I was delighted to join a strike force. Phonso finally decide to run it just over half full. I said goodnight to Nox during that. The group almost lost someone who was nodding off before they realized they were quitting just before the last mission and ran it with us. Phonso said goodnight and left afterwards. Next, I did paperwork, then made notes in this. After that, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web before making more notes in this. I ended the evening playing a lot of Cross Stitch World CSW while thinking. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 9, 2025

On Wednesday, right after breakfast, my main nurse took me back to that butler building to try Chair Yoga. I tried it. I really did. Unfortunately, it upset my vertigo, which really is permanently severe. At first, I could and did wait until it settled enough, then continued, but after a while, it stopped settling enough. So, I got up and told my main nurse, and we left and went home. {smile}

Then in the late afternoon, my main nurse and I went back to that butler building. We were slightly late getting to Zumba Gold. I think it had just started. I tried to join in, and folks encouraged me to stand in front so I could see, being new. I tried to keep up and think I did okay. I had to skip one turn, and adapt some other things, but I talked to the instructor afterwards and she's fine with that. "Hey, you came. That's half the battle," she said. I've talked with my main nurse since, and he's delighted with all I did. He warns me that now I have to do the Zumba Gold and the line dancing again. {Smile}

That was plenty of exercise for the day. I wasn't as exhausted as I was Monday after two classes almost back-to-back, but I wasn't going to try any more on my own. {Smile}

After I got back from chair yoga, I had a nap followed by lunch. Then I browsed on the web and began to treat a headache. When the headache eased enough, I began writing up Tuesday's daily update. I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming when the headache had eased some more. I was just in time to say goodbye to Div again. I did some paperwork and finished writing up Tuesday's daily update while I continued to treat the headache, and it continued to back off. Next, I browsed the web, played Cross Stitch World, and read web comics as I continued to treat it headache. It continued to get better but not really well until I gave up and took the pain pills and caffeine that finally got rid of the headache just before my main nurse took me to Zumba Gold. When I got back, I browsed the web until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I began making notes in this. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork and talked with Ulty and Jenny's player. Next, I began to play by myself. Then Glen said hi, and we talked. After a while, we got together. I learned he had a new endgame-level character who hadn't actually started the endgame, so we ran the first three story arcs for heroes. They together introduce the end game content nicely; the middle one is different for villains. I also said goodnight to Nox. Then I talked briefly with Phonso, and at some length with Divi. After the third story arc with Glen, I made sure he knew about other helpful content in end game before we said goodnight. Next, I did extensive paperwork on the character I played all evening, followed by the character I played Tuesday that I didn't do paperwork for on Tuesday. After that, I made the rest of my notes in this. I think that in the future doing the notes before the paperwork at the end of the day would make it easy to stop and leave when it's bedtime, since I got done a little later than I hoped to. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 8, 2025

Tuesday was quiet. I mainly stayed home. However, I did get very distracted when a program or two complained yet again about outdated drivers and other problems. I remembered being able to update things on earlier computers, but I didn't find stuff in similar places on my computer. I did find a program I'd gotten off the internet that almost worked but not quite. This kept me busy both before and after lunch until I finally turned to City of Heroes: Homecoming {smile}

While in there, I fiddled some more and got an upgraded and not-too-expensive upgrade that fixed all the non-upgrade issues. It even fixed the first upgrade, though it forced me to restart my computer. I left it after that until much closer to bed. {smile}

I tried again at bedtime. Most of the complaints failed, but a few did fix, or possibly disappeared instead of fixing. I won't complain; I'm down to nine outdated drivers from an initial fourteen, which I'll count as an improvement. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise Tuesday. I was enough more tired after the second dance class yesterday than I usually am after physical therapy, I had no doubt that I had fully earned a day off. {Proud Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed on the web until I got annoyed by programs asking about updating drivers and looked into it. I paused for lunch, then continued looking into updating drivers until I realized it was getting late to catch Div in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I caught Div as he were getting ready to leave. Then Kitten caught me, wanting help with a badge that that required a mission they were too high to get. However, Div wanted to show me the progress with the base, so I checked that out first. The courtyard now is attached to a tower with a few more rooms than stories. I think this is great progress for the two days since I last saw it. After I said goodbye to Div, I joined Kitten. I got a character the right level to get the mission they wanted. As I was getting the character, Ulty invited me to a four-character trial, but I declined because I'd promised to help Kitten, and they'd asked first. Besides, they were so excited, they were making me excited, too. So, Kitten and I figured out what mission we needed and ran it. Kitten got their badge. I got it, and another badge I wasn't completely aware that character lacked.

I checked with Ulty about the teen supergroup meeting, and learned it was starting soon. So, when Kitten and I had the badges, I switched and joined the supergroup. When I got there, they swiftly started a taskforce known for being long, but low-level. Being moderately low-level, my character was right in the range for it. I let her gain two levels before turning off experience points to keep from out-levelling content. Partway through, my main nurse warned me dinner was early. I explained that the task force was threatening to run late. He asked how late. I said twenty minutes to half an hour, but that was far too optimistic. A giant monster fight in it lasted longer than usual, but more than that, I distinctly underestimated how long the last mission was. I left as soon as it was done, but I was half an hour late to dinner. Thankfully, my relief nurse assured me he doesn't mind if that happens occasionally. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Sunday's daily update. with break to play Cross Stitch World and read a web comic. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming just as the teen SG meeting was breaking up. I said goodnight to Ulty and hi to Kitten. I teamed up with Kitten. As I was trying to decide what to do, Phonso invited us to a strike force. We joined it and ran it. I also chatted a little with Nox on the chat server. After the strike force, I debated what to do next while Kitten and I fought some critters from an April Fool's event in the zone the strike force ended in until I decided to play the character Kitten is making for me. We did a couple of missions before Kitten went quiet then faded out. I did some paperwork and began making notes in this. Then I took a break and spent more time playing Cross Stitch World than I meant to spend and about the right amount of time doing paperwork for the two lower-level characters I played that day. The strike force was on a high-level character who still has paperwork. Next, I spent more time than meant to reading a friends' group on the chat server before I finished making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Updarte, April 7, 2025

On Monday, my relief nurse took me out to a line dancing class in one of the butler buildings. The class was lots of fun. The people were nice and friendly. a few different ones came up and talked to me during the breaks. The dances weren't hard, either, just challenging enough to feel accomplishment as I got the hang of it, and no one worried about mistakes, or doing things a little differently. I even saw a gal from church there, though I didn't talk with her. I'll have to some other week. {Smile}

I was tired at the end, despite sitting out a piece or two, so I was happy to sit and each lunch next. Then I had a Japanese Dance class at same place. I was still tired. I got dizzy in the first piece. Also, people were less eager to talk with a stranger like me. My relief nurse blamed the heat, for it had warmed up. I don't know if he was right or not. I was exhausted by the end, despite sitting out some again. {Smile}

Those two dance classes were all my exercise for the day, and probably for the next day, too. {Smile}

Before we left, I just dealt with mail and got ready. After we came back, I read web comics and browsed the web to wind down. Then I began writing up Sunday's daily update. I stopped when I realized how late it was getting and ducked into City of Heroes Homecoming. I tried to get kitten's attention while I did some rather extensive paperwork. Then I spotted the later long, large-group event, and joined it. Just after that, Dennis said hi. He joined it so he could play with me as little. We said goodnight after the event. I did more paperwork. Then Kitten said hi, but we didn't get anything going before I got a five-minute warning for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing up Sunday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. There, I started with paperwork and said hi to Kitten. We talked, then got together. We ran a few missions for a badge on my second-best badge collector. She got it, and an unexpected badge as well. I also tried to talk with Nox, but we didn't fully connect. I cast around for what to do next. Kitten spotted someone asking for help. Kitten joined them, but I couldn't until they found and fixed a rarely used setting. We helped them with a mission though it was messed up, so some optional parts never became accessible like they should have. I got a badge I didn't realize I didn't have on my second-best badge collector, so I asked Kitten to help me get the other, similar badges. She got all eight other badges like that with Kitten's help. Then I noticed time. I broke to type up notes in this. I played a little Cross Stitch World and talked with Kitten in the chat server while I wrote notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 6, 2025

Sunday morning, I stayed on task more than usual getting ready, so when main nurse took me to church, we actually got there slightly early. I had time to talk to a parishioner or two and find and set out the nuts before the service, which was nice. {Smile}

Afterwards, I ate on the lanai and talked more with those who sat with me. I liked that. My main nurse took me home again afterwards. {Smile}

I got no real exercise, though. It just didn't happen, somehow. {rueful smile}

When I got home, I talked with my main nurse at length. Then I looked at a course of study to discern whether I want to join Daughters of the King, which is an order that a fellow parishioner is starting a chapter of. Interested women have been pursuing this since January, but I distinctly behind, and in need of catching up. Then I wrote up most of Saturday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did barely any paperwork before I checked for Div. Good thing I got to that quick. I found him just getting ready to leave, but he showed me the base first. He's added a high up verdant courtyard with grass, trees and tents. When he'd finished showing me the new part, we said goodnight. I worked on paperwork and finished Saturday's daily update after Div left. Then I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and did paperwork. I found Pierogies. He wanted to do a later long, large-group event. Then I found Dennis. He doesn't usually like those events, but he wanted it for a badge, so he joined us. We ran it, then got together and ran a couple of Dennis's missions. The team broke up when I was ready for dinner and Pierogies was ready for bed. {Smile}

After dinner, I did paperwork. I tried talking to Nox on the chat server, but they responded little and late. However, Dr. Faustus said hi, and that his character was ready to get four badges, and I could come along. We did two of his badges.  Then Phonso said hi, and invited us to a taskforce. We joined him and ran it. Next, the team broke up, and both my friends left. I did some paperwork. After that, I browsed the web and began making notes in this. Then I took a break to play Cross Stitch World and browse the web some more before I finished making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, April 5, 2025

On Saturday, late in the morning, my relief nurse and I went to Liliu'okalani Gardens. He wanted me to walk around for twenty minutes, but I took some side trips, and we got back to the car in half an hour. My relief nurse was ecstatic that I did so much, but he's warned me we'll have to do thirty minutes after this. {Smile}

That was my exercise for the day. No more was needed. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World. Then I checked Coity of Heores: Homecoming briefly before our trip to Liliu'okalani Gardens. Afterwards, I had lunch before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did some paperwork, and checked for Div, but didn't see him. I did see Pierogies, and tried to get his attention, but didn't. So, I took a break to clean myself up with my main nurse's help. then I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I'd barely started on paperwork when Pierogies found me this time. We talked, then teamed up to do a few missions together. Next, he left, and I went back to paperwork. Then Dennis said hi. We teamed up and did a couple of his missions, running a bit into dinner time since I insisted on finishing the mission I'd started before going to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I talked with Ulty, Jenny's player, and Divi in the game. I also talked a little with Nox on the chat server. Then i started figuring out a badge, and that something I didn't realize counted towards it does. Then Glen said hi, and I left eh badge for some other time. We teamed up, and I switched to mid-level character near his in level. We did a story arc together that we both hadn't done on our characters yet. Then we said goodnight, and I did a little paperwork Then I started making notes and writing in this, with a break for a little web browsing and reading a web comic. After that, I finished making notes in this slightly earlier than usual. {Smile}
