Daily Update, February 11, 2026

 The night before Wednesday, I got to bed at the usual time, despite getting started a little late. I got to sleep not a slowly as sometimes recently, but nowhere close to fast. The next day, I wasn't tired enough for a nap. {Smile}

After dinner, my main nurse took me down to the Church of the Holy Cross for my ballroom dancing classes. We were only the second car in the parking lot near the class, but soon others came. Eventually, someone came and opened up the building. My Ballroom Dance: Rhumba class went normally, with the instructor and his assistant teaching us some new moves with variations in some cases. But when it came to Ballroom Dance: Shuffle class, the teacher wasn't there. His assistant was, but as she explained - and I confirmed from personal experience - as a follower you don't have to know the steps all that well to do your job. Follow a good lead, and keep stepping in rhythm, and it will work out reasonably well, even if you're still learning, yourself. So, she picked one of the better students, who led us through practicing the moves we've already done. He was not ready to try to teach anything new, but he was very good at reviewing what we'd been taught. After the second class, my main nurse took me home again. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer, and started reading articles and comics, and watching videos, all on the web. I continued into the afternoon, I found Chrome, Pierogies, and Div, and started talking with all three. I teamed up with Chrome on my higher-level teen supergroup member, and Pierogies soon joined us. We did a mission or two together about his disappointment with the new public base system. I got them to invite Div after a while, but they both left shortly after talking with him for a bit. Then Div and I did a badge mission, and the first few missions of a story arc. Next Div said goodnight, and I collected quite a few badges on my higher-level teen supergroup member. I also wrote up and shared Tuesday's daily update before dinner. {Smile}

After we got back from my class, I got onto my computer and started watching videos and reading articles and comics. Then I tried to go into City of Heroes: Homecoming, but found myself answering Nox on Discord, the chat server, and reading another comic or two. Next, I actually did go into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. After that, I pursued some badges on a few characters I've enjoyed playing recently. Then I began writing this while continuing to hunt for badges. Next, I read comics on the web. After that I made some more notes in this. I ended by evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 10, 2026

 The night before Tuesday, I got to bed a little after two and didn't fall asleep for a while. I must have rested enough while not sleeping, though, because I only rested a little on the way to class, and felt fine otherwise. {Smile}

Late in the morning, my substitute relief nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my creative writing class. The class was going, though a smaller group than usual. We started with telling how we'd done over the two weeks since our last class. Maybe some who were missing had trouble with the storm. The class went well. We had a nice lecture. Though I got a phone call from my financial adviser that interrupted my freewriting. I was happy though; it was good news from my financial adviser. When we shared our writing, I read the part after the part I'm trying to write, since it was more ready than the part I'm writing. Folks really liked it. {Smile}

After class, my substitute relief nurse picked me up after a short wait. My housekeeper messaged me while I was waiting. She was going to my home to work. My substitute relief nurse took me to the ice cream parlor. I picked out three popsicles: one for now, one for later, and one for my housekeeper. Then we went home while I ate the liliko'i (passionfruit) popsicle. I gave my housekeeper a choice of vanilla or mango. She insisted I choose, so she got the vanilla. {Smile}

Before class, I worked a little on my story, mainly making a few quick alterations that occurred to me in the night. After I got home and settled the popsicles, I got onto my computer. I made a quick, last-minute edit to Monday's daily update and shared it while listening to some Hawaiian music videos that I was too busy to watch. Then I wrote a little of this update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my higher teen supergroup member, and did a little auction house and storage on her. Then I went to my teen supergroup meeting. I got a brand-new badge, which was the first I knew that new badges have been added to the game. I found one member already at the meeting, and we roleplayed for a fair while. No one else came. When the other player sounded discouraged, I checked with Ulty on Discord, the chat server. She said that she and Nyxy weren't coming, and she doubted others were at this point. However, when I asked about a story arc that I was ready to do, she said to go ahead with it. So, I checked with the other player, and he was interested. So, we started it. Not long into it, Kitten mewed at me privately. I checked with the other player and invited Kitten to join us. The three of us completed the story arc, running late, but keeping at it. Then the other supergroup member left for bed, and I left for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on my higher-level teen supergroup member. Then I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Kitten, who turned out to be hunting giant monsters with another player. I joined them, switching to my best badge collector and updating her badge record to include the recently added badges. Several of those dropped immediately for her, and a couple more were quick and easy to get. Dr. Faustus joined for the first one, but disconnected, and missed the reward. They weren't happy, since they'd messaged me on Discord about it, but I missed that, myself. Dr. Faustus joined again for the second giant monster and got it. Then they left. The rest of us got a third giant monster, joining up with another small team that was hunting it. Then we got a fourth, but it was particularly big. We had to recruit more. We got it after almost filling the team. Next, I said goodnight. I worked a bit with the storage and did a little with badges. Then I made some notes in this while working on badges and updating my badge lists for my second best and third best badge collectors. After that, I wrote a little more in this while finishing the badging and updating. Then I had a brief conversation with a member of the group of vampires that my villain supergroup recently connected with.  I made a few more notes in this, then ended my evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 9, 2026

The night before Monday, I got to bed not far past 2am. My goal is before 2am, but this is an improvement. I didn't need a nap, which is also encouraging. {Smile}

When I got up, I started looking into whether my class was cancelled. I found out that both grade schools and universities across the state were closed, as were many parks, but I couldn't find anything about Kamana Senior Center or the County of Hawai'i Elderly Activities Division. I finally thought about Auntie Sally's Lu'au Hale and realized that the parking lot it shares with the rest of the Ho'olulu Complex tends to flood in heavy rain. Even with my substitute relief nurse having a SUV, there was a real possibility that I would encounter difficulty if I went, so I stayed home. This turned out to be the right choice. in the afternoon, I discovered an email announcing that all Elderly Activities Division classes were cancelled for the day. Next time, I know to just check my email. It's a new situation, so I didn't know. {Smile}

I also called my financial adviser and left a message when I got their answering machine the first time. I called several more times, not bothering with further messages. Then I got a call from them around lunch time. This let me ask them to help me straighten out accidentally draining an account again. I know how to watch more carefully. I just have to do it consistently. {smile}

After I figured out that I wouldn't go to class, I settled onto my computer. I read articles and comics and watched videos until I finished writing up my daily update around lunch time. Then I read more comics and watched more videos, pausing to write in this at least once. Eventually I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and let a few friends on Discord know that I was doing that. I said hi to Ulty, Jenny's player, and Pierogies. Pierogies and I teamed up, and he started to help me with the story arc I started with Doc the previous night. After a mission or two, Kitten joined us. Then after a couple more, Pierogies left for bed. Kitten stayed, and we finished that story arc just as I was called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote some more of this up. Then I read a couple of comics. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, and Kitten mewed at me before I even started saying hi. We teamed up and finished the story arc in the post-apocalyptic setting that we and Pierogies had started before dinner. I also chatted with Nox on Discord, the chat server. After that story arc, Kitten and I did the next story arc in that series -- it's one of the longest series of story arcs in the game. We finished it, then stopped for evening. We chatted a little, and I did some auction house and storage, and set up the next contact's first mission. I also wrote some more of this update. Then I wrote a bit and researched more for my story before I read Forward Day by Day and said The Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 8, 2026

 The night before Sunday, I got to bed right about on time... for any other day of the week. However, Sundays run early because church starts at ten, so it's still later than I'd like to, especially on a Sunday. I wouldn't mind waking up a little earlier every day. It would be nice to be able to arrive comfortably to something that starts at ten any day of the week. {Smile}

When I got up, my main nurse asked me to check to see if church was cancelled, because there was a flood advisory on. I did, and on the second try, found that the livestream had started. That was confirmation enough. My main nurse took me down to church.

We arrived during the announcements. I sat with Auntie Barbara and enjoyed a nice service. Afterwards, there was lunch on the lanai, but I took my food into the room where the Daughters of the King were holding their monthly meeting. I attended the monthly meeting. Then Katie, who helped me through the Discernment process to become a Daughter of the King, took me and the other Anne home. I enjoyed talking with them on the ride. {Smile}

At home, I got onto my computer. I watched videos and read the occasional article and a couple of web comics until I finished writing up Saturday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my characters. Next, I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Pierogies, Ulty, and Jenny's Player. I talked briefly with Ulty and Jenny's player. I talked and got together with Pierogies. We did a couple of my missions. After that, Pierogies and I said goodnight, and Pierogies left for bed. I worked on auction house, storage, and crafting. Then I began writing up this daily update, stopping when my main nurse called me to supper. {Smile}

After supper, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I wrote more of this. Next, I answered Dennis and Nox on Discord, the chat server. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Dr Faustus, Ulty and Jenny's player. I talked briefly with Ulty and Jenny's player. I talked slightly more with Dr. Faustus, and we teamed up.  They helped me finish the story arc I had continued with Dennis the night before, which is set in the post-apocalyptic area.  Then we did the entire next story arc in an unusually long series of story arcs. Next, we started the sequel after that.  However, we only got two missions of this latest story arc done before Dr Faustus said goodnight and left. It was a little early for them, but we had been at it for a few hours.  I started to set up the next mission when the lights went out.  They flickered a few times, then settled into just being off.  I tried to continue to play with the help of my battery backup, but I discovered that I was disconnected from the internet, so I turned off my computer.  I took a break, then tried my phone.  It seemed disconnected from the internet at first but found it shortly.  I made notes in this on phone.  I'm so glad I charged it fully around dinner time, when I discovered that it was almost dead. I had plenty of charge during the power failure. I used it right through the power failure without worrying, and it's not even that far down the next day. With the notes done, I played a bit of Cross Stitch World. Then I started writing in this, converting notes into proper writing. It's slower without a full keyboard, but I managed. I wasn't quite done when the power came back. With the power back, I turned my computer back on. I browsed Facebook and found a video announcement from the governor about the storm that must have caused the power failure. He even closed the University of Hawai'i campuses, which may be a first in my lifetime. They don't normally close for bad weather. It made me wonder about my class the next day. I really must look into that before going out. Then I finished making notes in this. I finished my evening with reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 7, 2026

The night before Saturday, I actually got to be almost as early as my main nurse claims he'd like me to. Maybe the changes will work, especially since I thought of more changes to my routine that might streamline things. I can hope the changes work, but I actually feel that that might be more likely to than others I've tried recently: writing parts of my daily update earlier in the day. I'm hoping that will take less time in the long run than jotting down notes, then writing them up properly later. {Smile}

Late in the afternoon, my main nurse took me to a valentine's Party sponsored by the group that also sponsors my Wednesday night ballroom dance classes. When we got there, my main nurse helped me check in. I sat near a couple from my Friday class and talked with the gal. The guy didn't say much. They had a few dances before dinner, but dinner happened soon and mostly stopped the dancing. I danced a few numbers before dinner, and a few after. Then they had a raffle, which I missed much of because of needing the little room. Next, a couple sang a song I know well from Fiddler on the Roof. After that, we got back to dancing. I danced with several people, both men and women. Since there were more women and men, as usual, some women dance together, at least part of the time. I don't think I danced with the same person twice. I talked with folks a few times, too. I moved to sit at a different table after a few left, including the couple I sat with and my Friday teacher. I sat where my teacher had been to chat with friends at that table. I stayed through the last dance. My main nurse came in towards the end and took me home afterwards. He was greatly impressed with our stamina, since many stayed all the way from 5:30 to 9, even though it was an older crowd. {Smile}

After breakfast, I read articles, watched videos, and caught up on reading comics I realized I'd forgotten. Then I wrote up Friday's daily update, finishing just before lunch. Then I began writing this up as I began lunch. When I finished this, I shifted to chatting with Nox on Discord, the chat server, for the rest of lunch. Next, I watched videos on the web and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming to check the in-game auction house. After that, I went back to more videos. Then I wrote a little more of this and went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and spotted Pierogies and began to talk. He was waiting for the early long, large-group event. I joined it, and we ran it together. Then I sorted some of my storage while I talked with Pierogies. I'd just begun on the in-game auction house when Pierogies suggested doing a Valentine's-themed mission that is available for a little time. I found out more of my characters got it than I realized, but I finally found one who did have it. We ran one together, and I made progress on a badge that isn't done all at once. Next, Pierogies left. My main nurse reminded me to get ready for the party, so I quickly checked my friends who play the game, then broke to get ready. After that, I came back and wrote up more of this daily update. Then I did some in-game auction house, storage, and crafting on City of Heroes: Homecoming until my main nurse said it was time to go.

When I got home from the dance, I got back onto my computer. I watched videos and read articles for a while as I settled in. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my characters, and then on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Dr. Faustus, and we joined a strike force. I almost didn't get in, but Doc saved me a place. We ran it. Then Dennis joined us, and we did a mission Doc had. Next, Doc left. Dennis and I ran one more mission I had. Then I ran a few talks while Dennis collected badges, because the talks followed directly on the mission in a story arc I had. After that, we said goodnight, I worked on in-game storage, then started making notes in this. I paused to work on the in-game auction house and storage in City of Heroes: Homecoming before I finished notes in this. Then I read Forward Day by Day and said the Lord's Prayer to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 6, 2026

On Friday, I got to bed normally late and slept fairly well. I was still tired enough to drowse on the way down to my Ballroom Dance: Samba class. I also napped in the afternoon. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me to my Ballroom Dance: Samba class. I danced with the instructor's helper and two students - both gals - who I usually dance with. After class, my main nurse took me home, chatting much of the way. {Smile}

During dinner, I learned that organ meat may not agree with my stomach. I handled the beans and potatoes fine, but my stomach turned touchy as I started on a steak and Kidney pie. As far as I could tell, steak and pie crust weren't making it worse, but it was hard to pick them out. Thankfully, my main nurse gave some cheese, fruit, and crackers that agreed much more. It's weird; since I was a small girl, I could eat large quantities of milk fat in cheese and such with no ill effects, but meat fat is a different story. {rueful smile}

Before dinner, Auntie Barbara called, but I was busy in an online meeting. I called her back when it was done, a while after dinner. We had a nice talk then. {Smile}

After I got home from class, I watched videos right over lunch, until I started making notes in this. I'm hoping that making notes earlier will help me tame my sleep schedule. Then I began writing up Thursday's daily update. I paused to read three comics. After writing more of Thursday's daily update, I made more notes in this. Then I had my nap. Next, I read some comics before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and went straight to my villain supergroup meeting. I arrived slightly late. Dr. Faustus, our leader, and the other most regular player were already roleplaying. I joined in. Then, as we were choosing what content to run, two characters from the group we met with last week said hi. We gave them a tour of our base, showing most of the major rooms, roleplaying in character the whole time. I got Auntie Barbara's phone call during this and promised to call back at a better time. I showed our visitors both of my characters in the group this time. Dr. Faustus left after a while, but the rest continued the tour right into my dinnertime. I excused myself to eat dinner, which led to discoveries i already described.

After dinner, I found they'd barely moved out of earshot and were still going strong. So, I rejoined the roleplaying, which continued for a while longer before breaking up. Then I called Auntie Barbara. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. I found Dennis, and we teamed up. I helped him with a seasonal story arc, but he was partway in already, so I didn't do it in the way that would get the badge involved, too. After we said goodnight. I did a lot of the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting, including the beginning of the week type. Then I continued my notes in this, with more auction house, storage, and crafting in breaks. After that, I read a comic on the web before I finished my notes in this. I finished my evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 5, 2026

Before Thursday, I got to bed late but slept okay once in it. I guess my recent naps added up, since I didn't feel like I needed one all Thursday. {Smile}

Right after breakfast, my video counselling appointment went well. We had a good talk, planning how to deal with things I expect to come up. Then I watched videos and read articles and comics through lunch and into the afternoon. Next, I wrote up Wednesday's daily update. After that, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I text-chatted on Discord, the chat server, before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten, and we helped a player, probably new, on a low-level toon with a tough mission. Then we talked until the new player went to bed. Next, we worked on a story arc I had on my higher-level teen supergroup member, finishing it just before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner. I read a comic or two, then went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten, and we worked on another story arc. Dennis joined us for a few missions, then left just before Pierogies joined us. We did a few more missions, then Dr. Faustus joined us for the last mission of that story arc. Next, we worked on the story arc Dr. Faustus and Kitten also helped me with last night. First, we did a series of talk-missions. Next, we did one last mission, which an acquaintance of mine joined in on. After that, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting, because stuff had filled up with so much play on one character. Then we did one last mission that Dr. Faustus chose before we said goodnight. Next, I did more of the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. After that, I made notes in this, with one break to play a little Cross Stitch World. I ended my evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 4, 2026

On Wednesday, I slept as well as recent nights, so I napped after breakfast. On my way to my nap, I remembered to check my phone to see why it had been making text message sounds rather furiously entirely too close to dawn to be normal. I wondered at the time, but I was sleepy enough, I figured if folks were merely texting about it, not calling, it could wait until I was up. It turned out that Charlotte, the family friend I visit most Sundays, died suddenly in the night. Yes, she was bedridden, but it was still a shock. We'd just been telling each other that for a bedridden lady, she was pretty full of life. I texted the news to Auntie Barbara and my main nurse before taking my nap. {smile}

Before my nap, I also got a phone call from the nursing company owner. She told me what she'd done to try to arrange a phone conference with my financial advisor, and me. Then I got an email from my financial adviser in the afternoon asking my schedule next week so we could arrange that conference with the nursing company head. I responded by sending my schedule. I told the nursing company owner about the email later, by text. {smile}

Then after dinner, my main nurse took me to the Church of the Holy Cross for my ballroom dancing classes. Except we didn't have our usual classes. Instead, it was their mid-term "free dance night," where we danced a wide variety of dances with several partners over the usual two hours. It was great fun. I got to visit with folks more and even try some dances I haven't learned yet.  Then my main nurse took me home. I played Cross Stitch World both down and back in the car. {Smile}

After my nap, I got onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos right over lunch and well into the afternoon. Then I wrote up my daily update, taking breaks to watch more videos, and also read comics. Then I had a text conversation with Kitten on Discord, the chat server, before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I took a couple of tries to settle, because watching videos can be distracting. I also found and responded to my financial adviser's email while I was settling. When I finally settled down into City of Heroes; Homecoming, I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Kitten, who wanted to do that pair of high-level taskforces that is normally done together. I ran it on a character who needed a badge from one of the. I got that badge, and two badges I needed that badge for right before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went dancing. When I got back, I got onto my computer and watched a lot of videos. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game just in time to team up with Dennis and Kitten on my higher-level teen supergroup member for one mission before Dennis went to bed. We promised to continue soon. After Dennis left, I checked, and Dr. Faustus was on. I said hi, and invited them to join Kitten and me for the next mission in the story arc Dr, Faustus and I got back to the day before. Kitten left after a mission or two, too tired to continue. Dr. Faustus and I did a couple more missions after that. There's not much more in that story arc now.; We have a bunch of talk-missions with ambushes, and the grand finale mission. We should finish next time. Then I only have two more story arcs that need finishing. After we said goodnight, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Next, I collected a few badges on the same character. Then I made notes in this with only one break before reading forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 3, 2026

Before Tuesday, I slept fitfully. I napped after breakfast, but not for as long as usual, in part because I got up to go to my creative writing class. I could have napped more alter, but I really didn't feel I needed more. {Smile}

After my nap, my substitute relief nurse took me down to my creative writing class, but the classroom was empty when I got there. I was early, though usually others are earlier. I waited a while in case I was just the first there. No one else came, even into our class time. I checked the other classrooms, and they both had classes in them. Mine still had no one else. I tried to remember if something had been said. I vaguely remember my teacher mentioning not being there one week, but I didn't realize it was this week. I waited a little longer just to be sure, then called my substitute relief nurse. I played Cross Stitch World before and after call, to pass the time. My substitute relief nurse picked me up, and we ran a few errands. During the ride, I ate lunch, since we'd packed it. Our last stop was at a little place I didn't know had a cafe that has smoothies. They were out of every smoothie except pineapple-mango. That's fine with me; it's a good flavor. Then she took me home. {Smile}

When I got home, I got onto my computer. I read articles and videos, then went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting, especially on my teen supergroup member. Then I began a mission of hers, playing by myself. That's really not he way I enjoy playing this game, but I need to get some of her stuff done quickly. I paused to check on my friends who play the game and started talking with Pierogies. We teamed up, and he helped me finish the mission. Then we did a farm he wanted to do until I left to go to my teen supergroup meeting. The meeting started with roleplaying. I also talked briefly with Dennis and Dr. Faustus privately during the meeting. The meeting then shifted to playing through a story arc I had. It was magic-themed, which fit my character, who is a mage. The story arc ran into dinner slightly, but we finished in one day. I went straight to dinner afterwards. {Smile}

After dinner, I read comics. Then I wrote up Monday's daily update with few breaks before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting, then began playing as the higher-level teen supergroup member again, working on another story arc she'd started. I'm trying to finish a few partly done story arcs before the character goes up in level in a couple of weeks. I paused to check my friends who play the game. I talked with Ulty while continuing to work on that story arc. I noticed a notification that Dr Faustus had just come on, so I said hi, and we talked. I invited them to help with what I was doing. We finished that story arc - the second already-begun story arc I finished in two days. Then we started working on another story arc that's already begun There are two more after that one, but I just want to clear them. We said goodnight. Next, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. After that, I made notes in this. I finished my day with reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 2, 2026

Before Monday, I slept somewhat fitfully, but started a little earlier, and didn't seem to need much rest or a nap. {Smile}

After breakfast, my substitute relief nurse took me down to Auntie Sally's Lu'au Hale for my First Timer's Line Dancing class. I got there as they were starting the first dance, so I joined in. I visited with other students during some of the breaks. I'm pretty happy with how I'm catching onto the dances and even adapting how I do them to help me keep my balance better, despite my severe, permanent vertigo. After class, my substitute relief nurse took me to the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens. I picked out a Vanilla Cream Popsicle, and a Blueberry Cream Popsicle for another day. Then we went home. {Smile}

When I was home again, I got onto my computer. I read articles and comics and watched videos over lunch and into the afternoon. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and talked with Jenny's player at some length. I also talked with Ulty, but not as much. I began to collect badges on my higher-level teen supergroup member, who I've decided will be going up in level more quickly than most o mine do. It's just not fair to hold the supergroup back while I take my time. I won't go very fast, though. There are some things that shouldn't be skipped, and I think I know which those are. Then a more distant friend invited me to tag along in some missions set in ancient Rome. I teamed up with them until they left, and the team broke up. Then I did some in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Next, I began Sunday's daily update. I also looked at my story but didn't really add anything. That took me right up to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished Sunday's daily update, with a break to read articles, watch videos, and check out comics to read in the future. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I talked with Ulty and Jenny's player briefly. Then I began to play by myself on my higher-level teen supergroup member in hopes of clearing a contact so I can work with a new contact at the next day's meeting. I also answered Nox on Discord. I didn't finish the contact, but I did reach a point where that contact shouldn't prevent me from getting one for the meeting. When I was done playing, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. After that, I made notes in this. I took a break to play a little cross Stitch world before finishing the notes in this. I ended my evening reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Monday, February 2, 2026

Daily Update, February 1, 2026

Before Sunday I slept slightly fitfully. I rested less than half the ride to church but somehow managed the rest of the day without a nap, or being entirely too tired. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. Auntie Barbra was teaching Sunday School, so I sat with my main nurse. It was a nice service. Father David preached a good sermon. I liked him singing much of the mass proper. {Smile}

After the service, we had lunch on lanai. It was heavy on desserts, and light on everything else. After lunch. I went with Auntie Barbara and BJ to Charlotte's. We had a nice visit. We stayed to see her start home communion, then left. {Smile}

At home, I had some cheese to compensate for how little protein was in my lunch at church. while eating it, I got onto my computer, and started reading articles and comics, and watching videos. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and talked to Ulty about a new character. She seemed more receptive but not thrilled. I made the character anyway. Then I realized that Kitten had mewed at me. It's hard to notice while making costumes on City of Heroes. Kitten was tiredly following Pierogies, who invited me to team. I joined them on the new character, and we did a couple of missions. I squeezed in beginning Saturday's daily update before going to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I continued writing up Saturday's daily update. I broke to watch some videos before finishing. then I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I read some comics before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten on the new character and ran a few missions until Kitten was tired and it was late. Next, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. After that, I realized the new character isn't as good a candidate for a different supergroup as I thought. I changed her back and put the new character on a different toon that I didn't care for as it was. Next, I made notes in this, with a break to read comics. I ended by evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 31, 2026

The night before Saturday, I slept better than the previous night. However, I still felt tired when i got up, so I napped after breakfast. I woke up on my own a little before the alarm I set, so I mustn't have been as tired, at least. {Smile}

After lunch, my main nurse took me out. We went down to the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens and got a popsicle. I picked liliko'i flavor, or as most outside of Hawai'i know it, passionfruit. Then we went to Prince Kuhio Plaza, where we walked all the way around for exercise before my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

After dinner, I revised the first three scenes of my story. Then I found a scene I could add between the third and fourth scenes, and maybe a second later, near the end. So, I left a note and stopped there. I'll continue later, but I want to get that scene roughed in first, and I do want to let it percolate in the back of my mind before I write it. It should go much easier that way. {Smile}

After my nap, I read articles and watched videos right over lunch until I was ready to go out. When we got back, I left a note on Discord for friends who play on City of Heroes: Homecoming that I was coming in. Then I did go in. I checked on my friends who play the game. Next, I checked the in-game auction house on a few characters. After that, I began collecting badges on the character Kitten designed. Then Kitten said hi, and we joined the later short, large-group event together. When that event was done, we joined a strike force. that ran a little into my dinner time, so I was late. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Friday's daily update and began revising my story. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, then got back to collecting badges on the character Kitten designed. Next, Kitten said hi, but they were busy. I waited a while, until I spotted a friends-only pair of high-level taskforces, and joined it. Kitten came free in time to join the second taskforce. Net, the group did another taskforce, but Kitten left thinking I'd left, when I'd just changed to the character they designed and rejoined the group. They joined a different taskforce while we were running it. My taskforce first, so I worked on the auction house, storage and crafting while I waited. We got back together after both taskforces were done. We did one regular mission of mine before Kitten said they were tired and faded out. I went back to collecting badges on that character, then played a little Cross Stitch World Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting on a couple of characters. Next, I made notes in this. After that, I did a teensy bit more storage in City of Heroes: Homecoming before finishing my day with reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 30, 2026

On Friday, despite getting to bed at what passes for a reasonable time, I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep. So, I woke up still feeling tired. I kind of half-dosed on the way down to class, which did help. I tried to do the same going home, but life interrupted twice. I did take a nap after lunch, which finally did help. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me to my Ballroom Dance: Samba class. It started slowly, which gave me time to visit. When it got going, I danced with the teacher's assistant, two other students, and the teacher, despite him saying he'd be going slower. Then my main nurse picked me up. Before we left, a gal asked for a lift. Her husband had crashed the car, and she wanted a ride to him. He wasn't that far away, and his car was a mess, but she wanted to join him, not just go home. So, we dropped her off. After that, I tried to drowse on the way home. However, a phone call I didn't quite want to hang up on prevented much of that. {smile}

At home read articles and comics, and watched videos, all on the web. That continued right through lunch and into the afternoon until I stopped for my nap. After my nap, the secretary from the nursing company came and got the check for the next month. I tried to suggest that she help arrange a three-way phone call with the owner, my financial advisor, and me, but she said I should text the owner about it. So, I did. I also tried to call the financial adviser but had to leave a message on their answering machine. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I dashed into the villain supergroup meeting, to learn that rarely seen members were there, in part because we were meeting another villain supergroup with a surprisingly similar theme. We talked with them almost to dinner, with some of our members leaving earlier than others. I left with the last other member to stay. After that, I hunted for badges until dinner.

After dinner, I read comics on the web. Then I wrote up Thursday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, and tried to get Kitten's attention, both in the game, and in Discord, the chat server. I also tried to get Pierogies' and Dennis's attention in Discord, which only works if they are listening. After that, I hunted for badges while I waited. Kitten eventually responded, but was with another friend who'd gone quiet, but they didn't want to leave. They waited quite a while, so we talked, and I kept hunting for badges. When Dennis became available, Kitten left their other friend, who was still quiet, and we three teamed up. We did some of Dennis's missions until he and Kitten were too tired and went to bed. It was particularly late for Dennis, but it's a weekend. I worked on the in-game auction house storage, and crafting. Then I made notes in this, taking breaks for a little Cross Stitch World and browsing videos on the web. I finished my evening by reading Forward Day by Day, and saying the Lord's Prayer and A Prayer of Saint Francis. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 29, 2026

On Thursday I got to sleep early enough, a nap wasn't quite required. At least, I hope so, because I didn't take one. I still do need to work on getting to bed earlier, but I have a lot on my plate right now. {smile}

I started my online counseling session during breakfast. It went well. We covered several important subjects. Though I did remember one point later that I texted her about. {smile}

After counselling, I read articles and comics and watched videos right over lunch. A while later, I stopped to clean myself up with the help of my main nurse. Afterwards, I started Wednesday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and mentioned to a few on Discord that I was in the game. I started talking with Kitten, who was working. I also started collecting badges on my higher-level teen supergroup member. Then Pierogies said hi. We teamed up with him on a low-level villain and me on a low-level character visiting the area the villain is in. We did a few missions until dinner time. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished Wednesday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I collected badges on my higher-level teen supergroup member. then Dennis said hi. He helped with several badges. Then we switched to high level characters and did a mission of mine and one of his. Before we started a third, Azurette invited us to a moderately low-level trial. We both switched characters for collecting badges in that. We joined Azurette's team and ran it. When that trial was done, Dennis said goodnight and left, as did a few others. Next, Azurette ran an even lower-level trial after recruiting several more characters to replace those who left. We missed getting one of three badges, though my character has all. I switched to a character who didn't have them while some left, and Azurette recruited more. We ran it again and missed that badge again. Only one person left, and Azurette ran it without recruiting more. This time we got that badge. After that, the team broke up, and Azurette left along with the rest. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I made notes in this, breaking to read articles and watch videos. I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 28, 2026

On Wednesday just before lunch, I had a nap, despite getting to bed at a more normal time for me. I guess I really haven't gotten enough sleep the past few days. I certainly felt more like myself after that nap. {Smile}

Then after dinner, my main nurse took me to the Church of the Holy Cross for Ballroom Dance: Rhumba followed by Swing Dance: Shuffle. They both went well. There were many more students at Rhumba than at Shuffle, which is later, faster, and possibly less common. We mainly did 4-count Shuffle, though the teacher gave us a choice at one point. During the break between classes, I got a ticket to a dance they're having from a gal I'm getting to know. My main nurse took me home afterwards. {Smile}

After breakfast, I read articles and watched videos on the web until I realized I really needed a nap and took one. It certainly helped me concentrate better for the rest of the day. After my nap, I read articles and comics and watched videos all on the net. This continued over and after lunch, and well into my afternoon. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and talked with Jenny's player while getting badges on my teen SG member until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I had class. When I got back from class, I read articles and watched videos on the web. Next, I read comics on the web. I meant to get back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, but I barely checked on my friends who play the game before leaving to check more comics on the web. Before I got back again, I started talking with Ulty on Discord. We were mainly concerned with what she wants for the group, versus the kinds of characters I tend to come up with. No, they are not a good match. I'm not entirely sure where this is going. I feel I really should respect her wishes better, but we had to stop before we got to how to proceed, because it got late. After that, I wrote up Tuesday's daily update. Then I made notes in this, both with breaks for comics, articles, and videos on the web. Then I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 27, 2026

 I got to bed late again, but this time I made sure to nap after breakfast. It was barely over half an hour, which is half as long as usual, but it helped.

After the nap, my substitute relief nurse took me to my creative writing class. It was a nice lecture. My teacher told me she'd gotten the link I sent to the current version. the group where we shared our writing enjoyed the next scene. I'm still not getting many suggestions. I hope this is because it's good, not that they're missing stuff I could improve. After class, substitute relief nurse picked me up and ran a few errands. Most notable was a stop at Safeway to pick up my meds and a few things for home. Then we went home. {Smile}

When we got home, my housekeeper was already there. The house is getting cleaner, and so is the room I'm hoping to get cleared out soon. {Smile}

I got onto my computer. I had a popsicle I didn't eat yesterday as I got onto City of Heroes: Homecoming right away. I checked on my friends who lay the game, then checked the in-game auction house and storage. Next, I went to the teen supergroup meeting on the higher-level current member. We roleplayed. Then, when all five who were coming (including me) had arrived and talked, we ran a taskforce. We roleplayed during the taskforce, and went slowly enough, it both went late and pushed dinner late. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to the meeting. Half the others had left, and the two left were slowing down, but I stayed for a fair while, telling Dennis and Kitten that I wasn't free yet. When it finally broke up, I tried to team up with Kitten, but they were too tired. Kitten suggested teaming with Dennis, but Dennis left, too. It was certainly late enough for them both. I played by myself until Dr. Faustus came in. We teamed up to do a couple of my missions. Then they had to leave for a while. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, crafting. Then I wrote up Monday's daily update, rushing to finish when Dr. Faustus came back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I joined them in a mission of theirs. Then we did a mission of mine before we said goodnight. Next, I did some of the in-game auction house and storage. After that I made notes in this, taking breaks for a reading couple of comics and watching a video on the web. When I finished, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day to finish my day. {Smile}

Daily Update, Monday, January 26, 2026

The night before Monday, went to bed too late, but slept better than usual. The next morning, I wasn't as tired as expected, so I didn't try to nap. Well, I was tired in the evening, but I didn't try to nap then, either. I guess by then I'd forgotten a nap might help. Maybe I would have done better if I had napped. {small smile}

After breakfast, my substitute relief nurse took me to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale for my first timer's line dance class. I got there as they were starting. It went well, except one song really tired me. He warned us it was fast. Maybe I should have taken a break then, but I'd feel like I was missing part of it. {Smile}

Afterwards, my substitute relief nurse took me to the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens. I actually had ice cream - mint chocolate chip - since the day before was my birthday. I figure that's a special enough occasion. {Smile}

I shared my story with my housekeeper by email, and got its spelling and grammar fixed up better. Then I got enough copies printed out to take to class and put them in my bag for that particular class. Yes, my housekeeper came and worked most of the afternoon. Her husband came, too, and fixed up some things that have been needing repair. They were just small jobs, like a handyman or small contractor does, but they've been waiting far too long. It's such a relief to know that they're done. {Smile}

When I got home after my class, I had salad and drinks for my lunch, but no starch, because I felt that was partial compensation for the ice cream. I read articles and comics and watched videos on the web over lunch and into the afternoon. My housekeeper came a while after lunch. I worked on emailing her story and got the grammar and spelling when I realized email showed more than my other files. I made sure to copy it into my own copies, too. Then I printed it out for class. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I went out of the game to read some more comics on the web. I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to play by myself, mostly hunting, until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went into City of heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. Unfortunately, Kitten seemed busy and others were gone. I did talk a little with Ulty about concerns about a new, slightly higher-level character for the teen supergroup. I tried to write Sunday's daily update, but drowsed a bit, and kept getting distracted by comics on the web. Eventually I finished and went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I hunted on the character I hoped would join the teen supergroup, but I'm not sure I like some of the changes I made to her. I sorted the in-game auction house, storage and crafting, then made notes in this. for breaks, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming and couple of times. I also talked with Kitten a little in both City of Heroes: Homecoming and Discord. After that, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 25, 2026

On Sunday after breakfast my main nurse took me to church. On the way, I had a text conversation with my relief nurse, who is on leave. At church, the congregation sang Happy birthday when I walked in, and Auntie Barbara gave me an orange rose lei. Yes, it was my birthday on Sunday. Not just close, but that day. It was a nice service, followed by lunch on the lanai, then a brief visit with Charlotte before Auntie Barbara took me home. {Smile}

After dinner, I got a brief call from my relief nurse to wish me happy birthday and touch bases. It wasn't long, but it was nice to hear from him. {Smile}

When I got home from church, I got onto my computer. read articles and comics and watched videos on the web. I also talked with Kitten on Discord. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting, and checked on my friends who play the game. I hunted on the moderately low-level character I've bene working on. then Pierogies said hi, and we teamed up for a couple of missions before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles and comics, and watched videos, all on the web. Then I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that came the brief phone call with my relief nurse. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Then I checked on my friends who play the game. I talked with Ulty and Jenny's player, especially about new characters. I tried to fix up a character to suit Ulty's rules, but I'm not sure I like where this is going, especially after the unsettling encounter the night before. Anyway, I paused to write up Saturday's daily update. Then Dr. Faustus said hi. So did Divi, who invited me to a trial, but they only one spot, and I wasn't quite in the mood, so I teamed up with Dr. Faustus for a couple of missions. Next, I worked on the in-game auction house and storage. After that, I read comics on the web. Then I made notes in this with minimal breaks before I ended my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 24, 2026

On Saturday, I finally finished a revised draft of my story. I finished the last scene, which was the big climax. I tried first in the afternoon, but I could only write a few lines at a time. Eventually I gave up. Then late in the evening, I did the rest in one long push. I guess I write best in the evening, though mornings aren't too bad, either. Afternoons are the worst for fiction writing, though. I can do my daily updates, but even they are not as easy int he afternoon. {smile}

 The night before Saturday, I got to bed late enough, that after breakfast, I napped until lunch. I had lunch at my computer, while reading articles and comics and watching videos, all on the web. After lunch, I had our last watermelon popsicle rather than take a trip out. While working on the popsicle, I began to fill the last hole in my story a short paragraph at a time, with articles, comics, and videos in between, all on the web. Eventually I tried to go into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting, with frequent trips out for a few more lines of story. Then I gave up on the story, and tried to settle into the game, though a few more trips happened. Eventually I did settle and played by myself on the character I've been trying to work up in level. I got another level doing hunts and part of another story arc that isn't as much fun with friends. I also wrote up my daily update during breaks, and got it done and shared before going to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read comics on the web before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I played by myself on the same character, finishing that story arc and an old mission, as well as hunts, until Dennis said hi. We teamed up and did a couple of my missions on the higher-level teen supergroup member. Then we said goodnight before he headed to bed. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting, then had an unsettling encounter in the game, so I watched some videos on the web. Then I finished the current draft of my story in one big writing session. Next, I made notes in this in another big writing session, with barely any breaks. I ended my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 23, 2026

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me to Kamana Senior Center for my Ballroom Dance: Rhumba class. I made a point to talk to the others a bit more when I wasn't dancing. I need practice at that, but this is how I get it. I thought class went well. I have nine beginner's steps down so far. I partnered with a couple of gals, including the teacher's assistant, as well as dancing on my own when I didn't have a partner. After class, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

At home, I got onto my computer and had lunch while I started reading articles and watching videos on the web. I continued after lunch. I had the rest of the chocolate cake for an afternoon snack as I settled into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with the in-game auction house, storage and crafting I like to begin the weekend with. Then I began setting another character up to gain a few levels. I stopped when it was almost time for my villain supergroup meeting. I attended on my higher-level member. I found the other regular player was already there, even though I was slightly early. Our leader came soon. Dr. Faustus was last to arrive. Our leader wasn't really feeling up to playing, so we just roleplayed until our conversation slowed down to where we had long silences. I admit to checking a few things elsewhere on my computer while waiting for replies. Our leader left first, with Dr. Faustus a while later. The other player and I didn't really leave until I realized I was late to dinner and left for that. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles and comics and watched videos, all on the web. I also did a little writing in my story, but not much. With Mom's birthday not long before, and mine in a couple of days, it's been hard to get into a good mood for writing fiction. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and talked a little bit with Ulty and Jenny's Player as I worked more with that character, setting her up to gain levels. I ran her through a hunt or two, followed by a story arc that's too talky and too teachy to be as much fun to do with friends. After that, I did some more hunts. with all that, she did gain a couple of levels. She has one more level to go before I stop gaining levels to do more content on her. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Next, I made notes in this, taking breaks to read some short articles and browse on Amazon. When my notes were done, I said the Lord's Prayer and read forward Day by Day. I got to be awfully late, though. {smile}

Daily Update, January 22, 2026

Thursday after breakfast, I had my video counselling. It went well. We talked a lot about my future, helping me plan it out better, or at least begin to. {Smile}

After my counselling, my main nurse took me down to Island Naturals, where I met up with Auntie Barbara. Auntie Barbara and I picked out lunch, which was Auntie Barbara's treat, including a piece of chocolate cake, all in honor of my birthday, which is this coming Sunday. Then we went to Wailoa Park for a picnic lunch. All the pavilions with picnic tables in them were full, so we started to walk around, looking. A pavilion near us soon emptied. I claimed it while Auntie Barbara got our food from the car. We had a nice lunch, and shared the cake, eating about equal pieces, and leaving a part in the middle that I took home for later. My main nurse met us and took me home afterwards. {Smile}

At home, I got onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos as I settled in. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. I got together with Dennis, and Kitten joined us. Dennis was collecting badges, so I got a character working on the same badges. We stopped right before my dinner. {smile}

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Dennis and Kitten were still doing badges, but this time Dennis chose badges my 8th best badge collector needed. She got several with him, until he tired, and wanted to switch. Next, he let me pick, so I asked for a badge mission my second-best badge collector needed. He picked one that got her two badges and progress on a third. I updated her record. then I tried to work on another badge but was moving very slowly until Dr. Faustus said hi. They offered to help when I told them what I was working on. They knew all the tricks to make it easy to get another pair of badges. Then I helped Dr. Faustus with a couple of missions before saying goodnight. I updated my second-est badge collector's badge record again. Then I peeked at Cross Stitch World. Next, I made notes in this. I took breaks to read one short comic on the web, and to do some in-game auction house, storage, and crafting in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, Januaray 21, 2026

Wednesday was Mom's birthday. To celebrate, I didn't visit her niche in cemetery. A friend suggested that, but Mom and Dad avoided cemeteries and funerals as much as possible. Instead, I tried to accomplish stuff, since she loved to get needed things done.

First, my main nurse took me to the Hilo branch of the state employment office, where I started the process to claim Mom's pension, since she'd said it was settled on me. That was surprisingly quick and painless, especially for a state government office in Hawai'i. Next, we went to HMSA, my health insurer. I paid for another month's insurance, then waited over an hour to set up automatic payment. It wasn't too bad once they saw me, but one representative was handling all customers, and the line was very slow. When we were finally done, my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

Then after dinner, my main nurse took me to the Church of the Holy Cross for Rhumba and Shuffle, my two Wednesday ballroom dance classes. We waited in the car until someone came and opened up. I and the other students did the Rhumba for the first hour. Then we did the 4-count shuffle for the second hour, not the 3-count shuffle like last week. They hoped it was easier, and it is when first learning the dance. Though it's really best to learn both, as they pointed out. I think because you're better prepared for dancing socially, where your partner at least in theory could do either. After the second class, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

At home after the errands in the morning, I got onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos on the web right over lunch and after for a while, since I was tired form the morning's errands. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. Next, I started to play by myself on a character who I wanted to get a level on. I got invited to a team doing similar stuff, and Kitten joined us. I did get my level and prepared to stay at it for a while without out gaining more. a little later, the leader left. I switched to the slightly higher-level character I got up to moderately low-level and got Kitten's help with a badge to help them tiring too easily. Then at Kitten's suggestion, set up my best BC and one of their characters to work on a badge while I ate dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, at Kitten's suggestion we set the characters up better before I left them and Kitten again while I went to my dance class. After I got home after my dance class, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and responded to one or two who'd left messages while I was away, but they'd left after leaving comments. Then I wrote up Tuesday's daily update. I checked my friends in City of Heroes: Homecoming a few more times over the evening, but didn't spot anyone to team up with, so I didn't leave the badging arrangement with Kitten. I read comics over evening too, as my character closer to the badge in a line of them. Eventually, Kitten came back, surprised I was still there. We talked. Then we set up our characters slightly better for the night. I made notes in this, taking breaks to talk with Kitten. When I was done, I said the Lord's Prayer and read forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 20, 2026

On Tuesday I forgot about the monthly meeting until it had been over for a few hours. That's when I discovered that the leader had called me. When I called her back, she said she wanted to be sure I was okay because I'd missed the meeting. I apologized for missing it, of course. I checked after hanging up, and it was noted on my calendar on the correct day. I really need to check my calendar daily. First, I almost miss my doctor, then I do miss the monthly meeting... {sigh, smile}

I did not forget about my creative writing class. In fact, I wrote a bit when the meeting was on, between breakfast and when my substitute relief nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my class. Creative Writing went well. they liked hearing how I'd written to fill three holes and start to fill a fourth when I only knew about two holes after last class. The big hole is mostly not filled yet, but I have a week. After class, my substitute relief nurse came and took me home. {Smile}

We remembered the popsicles when we got home but didn't go out again for them. Instead, I got onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found a note from Nyxy that our teen supergroup's meeting was cancelled. I checked on some characters and played by myself on a very low-level one to get her up a couple of levels. Then I confirmed with Nyxy that the meeting was cancelled. Next, I started to get a similar character who is also very low-level up a level. After that, I checked on my friends who play the game and began writing up Monday's daily update before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I finished Monday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and played by myself to the second very low-level character up another level, matching the first one. After that, I checked on my friends who play the game. I started to check other characters but stopped when Divi invited me to a taskforce. I found out what type of character he needed, ran it with the team he'd already recruited. We broke up after the taskforce, and I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I read some comics on the web before starting to make notes in this. I took breaks to play Cross Stitch World, read a little more of the comic, and check Amazon before I finished making notes in this. I ended my evening with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 19, 2026

On Monday, I didn't go to line dancing class. I remembered as we were getting ready to leave that it might be a holiday. Sure enough, it was Martin Luther King Day, which is a state holiday, and the county observes all state holidays, including in their senior activities schedule which is the program I take most of my classes through, including first timer's line dance. {Smile}

However, my phone reminded me about a podiatrist appointment. I checked when I recognized the calendar-reminder sound, and that's what I found. So, my substitute relief nurse took me down. We actually arrived slightly early. My feet are about the same, and my toenails now trimmed. The receptionist remembered to charge me for my toenail trimming, so I shouldn't get a surprise bill this time. {Smile}

Next, we checked the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens. but they were closed. It was a little after three, and that is their official closing time, so it wasn't surprising. My substitute relief nurse ran a couple of errands while I dozed a little fitfully. I just couldn't stay awake. Luckily, I didn't need to. {Smile}

I did get a little more writing done. I didn't tackle the climax scene, but I added a few lines about a detail at least a couple of readers have asked about. I'm getting nervous about publishing. I talked with Kitten about that at some length on Discord on the afternoon. {Smile}

When I realized I didn't have class, I settled onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I did that little bit of writing before reading more articles, and possibly some comics as well as watching videos. That continued right through lunch until my phone hiccupped, reminding me about my appointment. So, we went out for my doctor and the errands. When I got back home, I went onto my computer. I chatted with Kitten on Discord, the chat server, at length about concerns about failing if I try to publish a story. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Dennis and Pierogis. They were teaming to collect badges together and actually restarted a mission so I could join. I got a couple of badges for my third-best badge collector, and one for my second-best badge collector before breaking for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles and comics and watched videos, all on the web. I also had a lighter conversation with Kitten on Discord. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Not finding anyone to team with, I hunted on the same low-level character, finally gaining another level. Dr. Faustus said hi, but they were busy. So, when Azurette invited me to a low-level trial, I took that character to it. and gained another level, which is the last i want to gain on it for a while, so I prevented it from gaining more for a while. It's really more moderately-low-level now than truly low-level. Dr. Faustus said hi again as I was finding a character for a different trial with Azurette, but he couldn't join us because we already had the necessary size of group. I got the last two badges it gives for my seventh-best badge collector. After that, the group broke up, so I joined Dr. Faustus in a low-level taskforce on the character I've been teaming with Pierogies on. When the taskforce was done, we said goodnight. I did a little auction house, storage and crafting, then made notes in this, taking breaks to check City of Heroes: Homecoming, and even solo a little on the character who ran the taskforce, as well as to update the badge records for my second and third best badge collectors. I ended my evening with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 18, 2026

On Sunday, I got to bed early compared to recently, so I set the alarm early even for Sundays (which are usually slightly early anyway). It rang when I was sleepy, so I reset the alarm for the usual time. I rested until I was more awake and got up a little earlier than usual for Sundays, but not much. {Smile}

My main nurse took me to church as soon as we were ready. We got there during the sermon, possibly near the end. It was a nice service as much as we saw. After the service, I had a large lunch on the lanai. Our annual meeting started there while we were eating. We voted for three full-term vestry members, one one-year vestry member filling out someone else's term, three convention delegates, and one convention delegate alternate. I helped count the ballots. I was inspired to volunteer because it was the least time-consuming alternative that disqualified me from any job on the ballot. I and the other gals were happy with how quickly we got them counted. {Smile}

Afterwards, I went with Auntie Barbara to Charlotte's. She's still at home and hoping to move to Life Care Center soon. {Smile}

After I got home, I got onto my computer. I read articles and comics and watched videos, all on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Pierogies, Kitten, Dennis, and Dennis's friend. We finished the story arc on the low-level characters which Pierogies and I have been working on. Then Pierogies left. I picked a hunt after trying and failing to get anyone else to express a preference for what we did next. Kitten went quiet after the hunt. We did one more mission. Then Dennis and his friend left, too. I shifted to a slightly higher-level character and hunted until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read several articles and comics, and watched several videos, all on the web. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I hunted on same character as right before dinner, and talked with Nox on Discord, the chat server, until Dr. Faustus said hi. Kitten joined us, then Dragons joined us, and the three of us finished the same story arc as before dinner on different characters, starting earlier in the story. Then Dragons left, and Dr. Faustus, Kitten and I did a trial that can follow that story arc. I began making notes in this while waiting for the trial to start. Despite the trial being written for a full team when we had less than half a team, we finished after some struggles. I followed it with minimal storage, then made most of my notes in this, only pausing to make a couple of quick notes on Discord to friends there. Then I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 17, 2026

 The night before Saturday, I got to bed particularly late. I determined to avoid this in the future but done is done. Anyway, this led me to take a nap after breakfast. I got up after an hour, but I soon went back to bed to wake up more slowly. I got up again shortly before lunch. {Smile}

After lunch, I watched a video about things to avoid writing into your fiction. One thing mentioned was a lack of closure, which I was afraid my story might have. This concern inspired me to get out my story and try to put an ending on it. One friend had suggested an ending, but it didn't really fit as they wrote it, because they had a different idea of what sequels might be about than I do. So, I wrote an ending that used a few elements of theirs and shared it with the friend in thanks for their help. {Smile}

 I got onto my computer pretty quickly after my second rest. I read articles and watched videos on the web over lunch, right until I shifted to writing an ending for my story. I was tired and a bit drained after that, so I set the story aside, and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I checked the in-game auction house and storage. Then, not seeing anyone to team up with, I paused to start Friday's daily update. I shifted to reading one or more comics on the web when my main nurse brought in a watermelon flavored popsicle in lieu of going out for a popsicle. It occupied a hand too much for playing City of Heroes on Homecoming or doing much regular typing but reading a comic on the web isn't hard to do mostly one-handed. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Pierogis and Kitten, an got their attention. We three teamed up and worked on the low-level story arc right into dinner time, because by the time I was called to dinner we were too far into one of the longest missions in the game. Stopping before the end would be standing up my friends, which I don't do if I can help it. I did stop right after the mission to go to dinner. Pierogis and I agreed we'd do the last mission in the story arc another time. {Smile}

After dinner I watched a video or two on the web, and read a comic on the web, too. I might have read an article on the web as well. Then I wrote up Friday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I tried to get kitten's attention, but they didn't respond, so I played by myself until Dr. Faustus said hi. As I was responding to Dr. Faustus, Dragons said hi, too. I teamed up with both of them for a popular long but low-level mission that Dr. Faustus had. It was shorter and lower level than the one before dinner with Kitten and Pierogies. After that mission, Dragons left. Dr. Faustus and I did a few more missions before we parted. I checked the auction house and storage Then I made notes in this, taking breaks to do some in-game storage and crafting and check on my friends in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I said the Lord's Prayer and forward Day by Day not really early, but earlier than the previous night, since Church was to be early the next morning. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 16, 2026

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me to my Ballroom Dance: Samba class. I got there slightly early. It was good to realize how many faces were there on Wednesday night, too. I enjoyed class and got another step down. It will come with time. After class, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

At home, I read articles and watched videos on the web over lunch. I read comics on the web afterwards. Then I checked out a new game and started writing Thursday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I worked on the in-game auction house and storage until Kitten said hi. We fit in a mission before my villain supergroup meeting. Then I went to the meeting and was the second to arrive of three. Dr. Faustus was already there when I arrived, and our leader came soon after. We roleplayed first. Then we decided on a taskforce but needed at least one person. We actually recruited a full team and ran the taskforce. Our meeting broke up after the taskforce, so I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting until Dennis said hi, but it was just before dinner, so we said a tentative goodnight, and I went off to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I finished Thursday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and found Dennis. We teamed up and did a few missions in a story arc I had. Next, I said goodnight to Dennis. Pierogies said hi just after Dennis left. We started the next story arc on the low-level characters. Then we said goodnight, and I worked on the in-game auction house and storage, but not long enough to get to crafting, too, before Dr. Faustus said hi. I joined two of their characters for a couple of missions. After that, we said goodnight. I did a little auction house and storage, then started making notes in this, but I took a lot of breaks to play Cross Stitch World, read comics on the web, and browse Amazon. I also answered Nox on Discord, a while after they'd gone to bed, but they can read when they find it. Then I ended my evening by saying the Lord's prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 15, 2026

On Thursday, my online counselling session started during breakfast. I thought it went pretty well. She's helping me with planning and coping with the transition to less nursing care. {Smile}

After lunch, my main nurse took me to Target. We walked to the books, where he left me to browse while he shopped elsewhere. I found many things to look at, but each time I asked myself if I wanted it more than three books currently waiting in the Amazon checkout basket. I never did, so I didn't get anything. Next, we went to Safeway, where I picked up some medicine. He got a few things. Then he took me back home. {Smile}

After my video counselling session, I read articles and watched videos on the web right through lunch. then I checked my story but didn't do much on it before the trip out. Then after our trip out, I went onto my computer and read articles and comics and watched videos on the web to settle my mind. When I was ready, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I began to fix up a character who needs adjustment after they got revamped in an update. I started talking with Chrome when I finished the first part of that process, since I couldn't see his in-game note to me until I got done with the first stage of the process. We talked while i worked on my character until I needed to stop to eat dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I wrote up Wednesday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends who play the game. I also talked with Chrome, who was in a story arc in a way I couldn't join. While waiting for him to finish, I checked with Ulty about a possible new teen supergroup member. Ulty detected no red flags but suggested I should try her out with the group before deciding whether to bring her or try another character. After that, Chrome got done, and we teamed up. We did a couple of his missions, plus a hunt of his at the end before we said goodnight. Just after Chrome left, Dr. Faustus and I started talking. We teamed up and added a second character of his to our team. We did a couple of hunts and missions together before we said goodnight. Then I began altering the appearance of the character who Ulty and I had talked about joining the teen supergroup to make her look younger and less intimidating. After that, I made notes in this all at once, with no breaks. After that, I made a few more alterations to the potential teen supergroup member. Then I closed my evening by saying the Lord's prayer, St. Francis's Prayer, and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 14, 2026

First, in Tuesday's update, I said the character was too old for the taskforce. No, my highest-level member of the group is too low-level for the taskforce, while her older sister is too old to join the group regularly. Sorry for the poorly worded explanation. {Smile}

Anyway, on Wednesday. late in the morning I began writing another piece of my story. I continued right through lunch and into the afternoon, describing two older children building a snowman. I was so tired after that, I just took it easy for the rest of the afternoon. I am tempted to blame the fact that I have never built a snowman. I have yet to have enough time while being around enough snow. If that sounds odd... it's life in the tropics. {Smile}

Later, I had an early dinner before my main nurse took me down to Holy Cross Church. We had some trouble finding the ballroom dance class that I'd heard about at my Friday ballroom dance class, but we did find it after a few tries. Despite that, I was pretty early. I joined the sponsoring club and signed up for both Rhumba and 3-count Shuffle. Yes, two separate classes, one right after the other. I did both and enjoyed them. I was in the front row, where we frequently changed partners, so every lead danced with every follow. The back rows were for people who preferred to stick with one partner. After the second class, my main nurse took me back home. I'm so excited to have another partner-dance class. I do enjoy dances where I can interact with others, whether one partner, or groups of any size. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos on the web until I began writing my story. When I finished with the story for now, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and started talking with Pierogies. We teamed up and finished the low-level story arc we'd started. Then we said goodnight, planning to do the last story arc in that series the next time we get together, or at least start it. I began working on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting, but I didn't get far before Dennis said hi. We teamed up and worked on some badges for two of my unranked badge collectors who are still high-level until I broke for an early dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, we went straight to class. When I got back home from class, I read articles, watched videos, and read one comic, all on the web. Then I wrote up Tuesday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found a note from Dr. Faustus. We teamed up as I was checking my friends who play the game. We did a couple of hunts and a regular mission, then said goodnight. I made notes in this, taking breaks to play Cross Stitch World, read articles on the web, and browse on Amazon. Then I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 13, 2026

On Tuesday after breakfast, my substitute relief nurse took me to Kamana Senior Center for my creative writing class. That went well, with a good lecture, a free writing session, and time to share my writing. They understood about me not having printouts because we're almost out of paper. I noticed car doors opening repeatedly without closing in one scene while reading the introduction I'd finished over the holidays. Afterwards, my substitute relief nurse took me home. {Smile}

Back at home, I got onto my computer and read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my own characters until Kitten said hi. We two teamed up and squeezed in a mission before the teen supergroup meeting. I went slightly early, but two others were already there ahead of time. I quickly joined the roleplaying they'd already started. Others came and ran a taskforce set in ancient times with me on my highest-level member's older sister because the member is too old for that taskforce, which ran right through dinner. {Smile}

Afterwards, I talked with the leader on Discord, the chat server, until I figured out a character that I could add to the group who fits the parameters, yet is higher level than my current highest-level character. Then I talked with an acquaintance who wants to play a game I don't have, but the download appeared to fail. I also read comics on the web and wrote up Monday's daily update. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and found Kitten. I talked with both them and Dr. Faustus, as I gave Kitten some stuff for their new character that I found after they left the previous night. After that, we both Dr. Faustus, who was doing a mission that's great for a particular badge. I got that badge for two of my high-level characters when we repeated that mission because the mission holder missed much of it the first time. Then we said goodnight. I made notes in this, taking a break to read a comic on the web and play Cross Stitch Word before finishing my notes. I ended my day with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 12, 2026

The night before Monday I got an idea for my story. However, I was sleepy enough, I didn't want to get up and go to another room to find what I'd need to write it down. Still, thinking about it kept me up until I convinced myself I'd remember int he morning. Then I finally fell back asleep. Then in the morning I jotted the idea down in a small notebook, and put that in my purse, so I'll have it if I got an idea while out. I'm just going to leave it there for that. {Smile}

After breakfast, my substitute relief nurse took me to Auntie Sally's Lulau Hale for my First Timer's Line Dancing class. I apologized to our new instructor and his wife for missing last time, explaining that I was sick. My instructor said few came because of the heavy rain anyway. I did pay for this session of the class, too. I enjoyed dancing in the class. After class my substitute relief nurse came and got me. I snacked in the car on the way to Walmart, where we picked up several things she needed, and a notebook for me. I put the by my bed when I got home, along with a couple of pencils so I can jot down ideas that come in the night without having to leave my room So help me, I feel like I'm starting to do things like a "real author," if that makes sense. After Walmart, we went to the ice cream parlor, and I got a chocolate fudge popsicle. My nurse ran another errand on the way home. {Smile}

At home, I got onto my computer, where I watched videos and read articles on the web. Then I wrote my notes from earlier into my story, and added a little more, though not much. Then I did some research for my story. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I also spotted that pair of high-level taskforces, and joined on my eighth best badge collector, who's still looking for a few badges from it. While waiting for it to start, I talked with Kitten and Dennis. Kitten joined the taskforces, but not Dennis. I didn't get the missing badges this time, either. I squeezed in reading a comic on the web, then realized that Kitten wanted to redo the taskforces. They were sure that at easy settings the badges would be really simple. No, they weren't. I didn't get them that time, either, though we did the bare minimum. This ran me right up to dinner time, so I took a break for that. {Smile}

After dinner I wrote up Sunday's daily update and read more comics on the web during breaks. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dennis and Kitten. Dennis and I talked, but Dennis was too tired to team. So, he and I said goodnight and he left. I also talked with Kitten. I asked about a character that they're fixing up. I checked my stores, and gave them some supplies I have on hand, but don't currently need for a character. They left, tired, but thankful. I checked some things they'd mentioned for getting badges and tried some other stuff. then I made notes in this, with comics on the web, Cross Stitch World, and in-game auction house and storage on City of Heroes: Homecoming during breaks. When I finished making notes in this, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming again before I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, January 11, 2026

On Sunday I woke up late, meaning at 9 when my Sunday alarm is supposed to be 8:45. Looking at the alarm on my phone, I discovered that it was set to vibrate but not make sound. I fixed this for the future, and made-up time fairly well while getting ready for the day. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. We arrived near the end of the announcements, which is pretty normal for us on days the alarm goes off normally. They'd run out of service sheets, but someone gave me and my nurse one, and hymnals to sing from, too. Without those, it's hard to participate where the audience is expected to. The service was very nice. I sat with my main nurse, since Auntie Barbara was busy with two students for Sunday School. It was a nice service. {Smile}

Afterwards, I had lunch on the lanai with my main nurse and Auntie Barbara. Then my nurse left, while I stayed with Auntie Barbara. I waited for her to be ready to leave, but my phone's battery was drained. I went looking for Auntie Barbara and learned we aren't using the main parish hall. It's rented out to some other group. I did find Auntie Barbara. We went to Island naturals when we left church. I got raisins, and checked the cranberries, but they were far too expensive. After Island Naturals, we went to Charlotte's. She's still at home, but hopes to go to Life Care Center, the nursing home Dad was in at the end, this week. We had a nice visit with Charlotte. Then Auntie Barbara took me home. {Smile}

Back at home I got onto my computer. I watched more videos on the web than I meant to. I also chatted on Discord with a few friends. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late for me int he afternoon. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I hunted by myself soloed on my higher-level teen supergroup member until Pierogies said hi. We teamed up and did most of a story arc. We stopped when we reached the last mission. I had around fifteen minutes to dinner and the mission typically takes more like an hour. We tried to watch the beginning of a movie together, but I barely got the website set up for my use before I was called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I began to write up Saturday's daily update while I finished my tea. Then I broke to cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Next, I finished writing up Saturday's daily update, taking breaks to read comics on the web, and to contribute to conversations my friends were having on Discord, the chat server. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late. I began to hunt by myself on my teen supergroup member, but I didn't get far before Pierogies said hi. We teamed up and did that 1-hour mission, finishing that story arc. I discovered my experience was off when I didn't want it to be near the end of the mission. Then we began the next contact with two quick hunts. Then we said goodnight because Pierogies was sleepy. I hunted on the same low-level character to gain the level I'd hoped to gain in the mission. Next, I did some in-game auction house, storage and crafting before I started making notes in this. I did take a break for more in-game auction house, storage and crafting, and another break for Cross Stitch World before I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}
