Daily Update, September 2, 2025

On Tuesday after breakfast, I made three phone calls. One was to my doctor to tell them that I need a prescription refilled. The next was to check in with my financial adviser. The third was to Carol, who fixes my computer, to make arrangements for the next phase, giving my laptop a thorough check up, then doing the same for my desktop after that. She will start at either the end of this week, or the beginning of next week, because that's what her schedule is currently like. {Smile}

After that, my relief nurse took me down to my creative writing. It went well. It included special plans for our next class, since that will be the last class for this quarter. After class, my teacher and I discussed what I could do with the story I'm working for in planning ahead, or some of it. I really need to find some folks to brainstorm possibilities with. I see what I'm working on now, and the next phase of the series - at least that's what I think of it as. However, I don't see what's beyond that phase, though I feel like it isn't the last. Anyway, during class I had lunch. After class, my relief nurse took me home. {Smile}

After we got home, I visited with the nursing company owner, who stayed overnight. Then I hopped onto my computer and into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I first checked my friends, and looked at storage and the auction house. Then I went to the teen supergroup meeting. They weren't in our base like usual. When I asked the Supergroup, the leader told me to read the introductory announcement for the information about the base they were having an end of summer trip to the beach in. The base was a beach with shops and restaurants along a boardwalk. We changed into swimsuits and met at the beach, where we talked in character, with some swimming and others sitting on the shore. Some went to the boardwalk and picked up several pizzas, which our characters made short work of, being active, growing teenagers with appropriately large appetites. Then we went to an arcade, where we challenged each other to play games that we decided by rolling computer-dice mostly in pairs right up to dinner, which I had with the nurse, watching TV while the nursing company owner took care of some phone calls in the next room. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to the supergroup's party, which was down to six, from eight earlier. We played a little more in pairs, then found a game all six could play at once. After that, one left permanently, and our leader left long enough for the rest of us to do a four-person trial out-of-character. Then our leader came back and the five of us did 2 or 3 missions out of character before saying goodnight and breaking up. Next, I worked with crafting, storage, and the auction house. After that, I chatted with Nox and started making notes in this. I shifted to playing Cross Stitch World, then browsed the web and made more notes in this. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I worked on crafting and the auction house some more. Then I read Forward Day by Day, along with The Lord's Prayer. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming again to check on some of my characters before ending the day with web comics and browsing the web. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 1, 2025

On Monday I hope you had a Happy Labor Day if you celebrated it. If not, I hope you had a nice day.

I did not go out, since Labor Day meant my class was cancelled, and many stores are either not open, or extra busy due to sales. I did have a couple of calls with the secretary of Helping hands Hale, the nursing company I use, to arrange paying and dropping stuff off the next day so things go quickly, since it's a busy day for her. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got ready for the day, which led to browsing the web until the first phone call. Then I browsed the web some more and read web comics over lunch before the second call. After that, I began writing up Sunday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends. I also did minimal auction house and storage before Pierogies found me. We teamed up on the low-level characters we did a story arc and part of a second on the other day. We finished that second story arc. First, we did a short mission. Then Dennis joined us along with his friend, and we four ran a short hunt followed by a long mission that is particularly popular for such a low-level one. After that, we said goodnight. Then I did some auction house and storage, followed by some hunts right up to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I finished writing up Monday's daily update, with a long break to browse the web and a shorter one to write a bit more of the story for my creative writing class the next day. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with checking the auction house and storage. Then I hunted some more on that same low-level character, with pauses - some long - to browse the web, especially watching videos. I also responded to Kitten, then Nox, both on Discord. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to do some hunting on that same low-level character, until I finished al true hunts that I found. When I got done, I got a badge and talked with Azurette until they left. Then I made notes in this, with a break to read a web comic, and a teensy bit of formatting of my story before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 31, 2025

On Sunday I got up only 20 minutes before I usually do instead of 30 because the night before I forgot to reset my alarm. However, I tried to get ready as quickly as feasible. {Smile}

After breakfast my main nurse took me to church. I played Cross Stitch World on the way down. We arrived in the middle of the sermon, which felt good after I got up late. The service was nice. I sat with my main nurse because Auntie Barbara was out on the lanai teaching Sunday school along with her new assistant. She had three siblings with their baby sibling watching. They're a new family to our church who inspired Auntie Barbara to restart Sunday school early, before her trip. She said later that the oldest is 14 - "really too old for Sunday School," so her assistant - a professional teacher - got him helping teach the younger ones who are older elementary age. {Smile}

After the service we had lunch on the lanai. I sat with my main nurse for the main course and Auntie Barbara for dessert, along with the gal who's been directing my discernment for Daughters of the king. I mentioned other concerns in relation to preparing, and she suggested taking those as they come. The evangelism and service commitments don't specify daily like the prayer commitment. Then she contacted our deacon. They're beginning to arrange to have my vows and most of the officers' swearing in soon. We're hoping for next week or the week after. {Smile}

After lunch, I went with Auntie Barbara to visit Charlotte. This time both Charlotte's cat and Mandy, her daughter who cleaned our house for many years, came in for much of the visit, which was a very nice and friendly one. Then Auntie Barbara took me home. {Smile}

At home, I hopped on my computer and played some Cross Stitch World. Then I browsed the web before I wrote much of my daily update. When I lost steam, instead of browsing the web some more, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started checking the auction house on different characters. I dropped that when Kitten said hi to team up with them. We cleared out four or five dens of bad guys in a row, which seemed a lot. I looked it up later, and it's supposed to be only two missions, but somehow the game got stuck on repeating them because that was at least three extras on top of the two. Eventually we finished, and I think we did one different mission before Kitten went quiet like they'd fallen asleep. After hours of playing, that wasn't too surprising for Kitten. I finished writing my daily update and shared it right before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I browsed the web, played Cross Stitch World, and read a couple of web comics. Then I remembered to read Forward Day by Day. I did so twice, as is becoming my habit, because I understand more if I read it more than once. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming where I found a note from Dr. Faustus saying they'd only have a couple of hours to play, and that was a while ago. I contacted them immediately and we finished the story arc we started last night on the same characters. Then we said goodnight. After that, I worked with storage, the auction house, and crafting. I also worked on badges a bit. Then I played some Cross Stitch World and wrote a little of the story for my creative writing class. Next, I made notes in this. I finished the evening reading web comics before bed. {Smile}
