Daily Update, April 3, 2023

    Today was a day of phone calls. First, Val threw up, so I called the vet, and in a series of a few phone calls over the next few hours, with repeated explanations about when he threw up, what he threw up, and what he was taking at the time, the vet decided to stop one medication, give him a rest for a couple of days, then try the other medicine. I'm hopeful it will work better. {Smile}

   I tried to contact my doctor about an itch and unstable blood sugar but ended up leaving two messages. I hope I can talk to them soon. {resigned look}

   I tried to contact Life Care Center's outpatient Physical therapy because I realized I'm out of appointments, but I had to leave a message there, too. {resigned look}

   I did contact my financial adviser. I talked to the secretary, who hoped to schedule the talk I want with my advisers tomorrow. {Smile}

   I took Uber to the last class on bereavement. I sat next to Auntie Barbara, and we chatted a little before class. This time, the death doula wasn't there. Instead, people handed out various forms involved with different aspects of death and near-death, which let you spell out some of your wishes ahead of time. I have them but didn't fill them out; I need to think about stuff first. Auntie Barbara left before the end. I stayed until they were waiting for the notary, and one gal left because she didn't want to fill stuff out before talking things over with her husband. She offered to take me home, and I took her up on it, since I wasn't ready for the notary, either. {Smile}

   After dinner, I called Auntie Barbara, and we had a nice chat. I felt like we hadn't finished talking when she left the class. {Smile}

   I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. I read scripture and thoughts about it and continued with a letter from her cousin's granddaughter, an another from her niece. Then, I read a story, "The Magic Sky," about two polar bear cubs discovering the Arctic Lights with their mother and an artic hare friend. from 365 Animal Stories and Rhymes. Then I finished up by reading the April 3rd story from 366 Stories for Bedtime: A Tale for Every Day of the Year. Mom said she liked the early parts, but she was very sleepy, and responded less as we went along, so I tried to keep it from being as long as it often is. {Smile}

   I did my head and walking exercises today. {Smile}

   I got back from the class, and remembered I hadn't finished yesterday's daily update, so I did that, and shared it around. That took me so close to time to read to Mom, I barely had time to hop on City of Heroes: Homecoming, check a few characters, and say hi to my RWBY friend. We only said a little because it was late, and they were busy. {Smile}

   After dinner, I looked at some comics, and hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started out soloing on my second-best badge collector and got several badges. Then I joined an April Fools Raid. They went to wait for the next April Fools raid, which was a long wait, but then the next was much shorter, and the one after was in progress when we got there. The next was a shorter wait again, and during that one, i got another badge, not that the event has any intrinsic badges. This badge just happened to finish during it. I said goodnight to Nox, having not spoken up in time to talk much again. I really need to work on that. but I did get to chat with Owl Girl between and during the raids, especially during the long wait. That was nice. {Smile}
