Yeah, I've learned a few things by watching my parents. This is just one of them. {wink, Smile}

I've had boils before that didn't make me feel sick in general. This is the first one that's been different that way. I suppose it could have been age, but it was a remarkably stubborn boil. I suspect it might also have been unusually draining. I'm glad it's finally GONE! {Smile}

One of the great things about parents is having some of the life experience already done for you. :) I didn't know about boils sapping a person's energy, though I heard that they are very painful. I'm sorry you had to go through all that. I am glad you're starting to feel better and hope you continue to do so.

Thanks, Chicory. I'm relieved to be feeling better. One of the bigger problems was a boil... I've had those before, but I never realized how bad one could make you feel. It just sapped my energy. {resigned smile}

It feels too slow. I'm impatient to get things going again. However, I've learned that a step at a time is really easier than doing it all at once. {Smile}

At least I know how I don't want to go about getting better Dad's finally not doing this as much, but for years, after he fell sick, he followed one pattern for getting better. When he started to feel better, he'd try to catch up on all the things he hadn't done while he felt sick on one day. Then he'd spend the next day or two feeling sick again. Then he'd feel better, so he'd try to catch up on all the things he hadn't done. Then he'd feel sick for a day or two.... Repeat for weeks to months until he really does feel better. He's finally learned to pace himself better, but I'd like to learn better pacing a little sooner. {Smile, wink}

I'm so glad you're feeling better again! We're still out here in cyberspace. Take all the time you need. I'm not sure there's such a thing as `too careful'. (Well, there probably is, but I think it's more along the line of wearing full football gear every time you step outside than taking legitimate precautions.)

When my sister lived in Florida for a couple years, most of the people there didn't have basements either because the ground gets spongy.

Living on one level can be wonderfully convenient. When my grandparents retired they made sure their house was a single level so they wouldn't have to deal with trying to get up and down steps.

Yeah, we have a crawlspace. That's common in Hawai'i unless they just put down a slab. Unfortunately, what started out as a comfortably high crawlspace became a very tight crawlspace as we added on up the hill without raising the floor. It does make the basement cramped, but I think living on one level is worth it. My parents and I all have trouble with stairs, sometimes more than others. Not having to worry about them while we go around the house is really great. {SMILE}

I'm glad he could help. Our neighbors just have a crawlspace. Once when I was maybe fourteen, I was watching a repair man check their pipes by crawling under the house. I warned him to watch out for black snakes. I'm not sure the pipes got checked quite as thoroughly as they should have. He was out awfully quick after I mentioned snakes. :)

I know. Yet we're lucky they have that boy. Our "basement" is really just a crawlspace under the house. I remember a gal from the phone company complaining that it was too low for her to crawl on her hands and knees on the upper end. Our neighbor's boy is about eight-ish, so he's small enough to crawl on his hands and knees in even the lowest part of the basement. That was a big help with that pig. {SMILE}

The computer problem was pretty frustrating. I could delete email, but I had to do so. The computer wouldn't do it for me. One mailbox got over-stuffed, to the point where email was bouncing, and I couldn't get in to fix it. Now, that shouldn't happen. I do go in to delete spam every few days, but it would delete on its own eventually. I just don't want to keep those. {Smile}

The cats we saw looked grown, or mostly so. They almost always are. I know there must be kittens around, since there are over a dozen adult cats. However, their mothers must be very good at hiding them when they're small. {Smile}

Dad and I drove around town yesterday, after I wrote. We were mainly picking up dinner at Subway, but we drove by a park where the road runs by Hilo Bay. We didn't even see mud on the road, let alone anything worse. We did see three kittys, tho. That's more of the park's feral cat population than we expected to see at that time of day. {Smile}
