Daily Update, May 3, 2023

    Yesterday morning, I responded to my Welsh friend's response to what I said the day before. It involved some research, and I got caught up in that enough, I suddenly noticed it was 10:47, and I hadn't gotten my things together or anything. I got ready as quickly as feasible, ordered Uber, and called Life Care Center and asked for outpatient physical therapy. I told them I'd be about 5-15 minutes late, but I was coming. The receptionist said she'd let my therapist know.

   I got there about the time I expected, and we started physical therapy. I had a good session. I think the salsa was the best yet. I even needed little steadying during the half circle taps, and not that much during the easier pairs of double turns. All of it was close to in time to the music, even the trickier double turns. {Smile}

   I got the same driver going back - he was surprised, but happy. He said he was going home; I think I live close to him, so that was convenient. {Smile}

   I also had a longish phone call with aunt's friend, giving us an update about my aunt's estate. The news is good but taking time to get used to. {Smile}

   I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. First, I read scripture and thoughts about it. Next, I read a Christmas letter from Mom's sister's friend from 2021. After that, I read more about the people who lived in an earlier time from People of Pern by Robin Wood. Then I read "Every Porche Employee, Even Cleaning Staff, Receives a Bonus in the Best Year Ever," from _100 Uplifting Short Stories for Seniors_. Then I finished with the May 3rd story from 366 Stories for Bedtime: A Tale for Every Day of the Year. Mom liked what I read to her, and the pictures, too. She seemed particularly interested in the pictures today. {Smile}

   No exercise beyond physical therapy today; that left me tired enough. {Smile}

   I read comics over lunch and wrote up yesterday's daily update after that. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming and got together with Kitten. We joined with my RWBY friend, and the three of us started a new story arc introduced very recently. The characters were chatty, so it was slower going than we expected. Also, I had to take time out for the phone call from my aunt's friend. My RWBY friend left when he got tired, and Kitten and I stopped when it was time to read to Mom.

   I hopped back into City of Heroes: Homecoming after dinner. I found Kitten still waiting there, but they went quiet after one response. I did find a stranger to chat with for a while waiting for Kitten to respond. Then I waited in quiet for a while before I found Darkthough1 and Mistress Aegis on. We teamed up, and did a few missions together, finishing an old arc that wasn't quite too old to get rewarded for, then doing a bit that Darkthough1 and Mistress Aegis had. Kitten woke up part way through. We talked, they rested some more, and eventually they joined us for a few simple missions. Then Darkthough1 and Mistress Aegis left. Kitten and I finished the story arc we'd started in the afternoon, but it didn't end like we hoped. There is supposed to be a badge, but I guess we didn't end it the right way to get that. We debated what to do next, but Kitten didn't stay responsive. I said goodnight to Nox; we'd both not gotten around to chatting before that time. Then, realizing that Kitten was unlikely to speak up, I ran a couple of shorter, solo missions. No, they couldn't be run with friends, so I've been saving them for some time when I was alone and unlikely to find friends to play with. I tried to talk more with my Welsh friend, but conversations are tricky when you live 10 or 11 time zones apart. We are conversing, but with long waits in between. I also read some comics, and began to write this update up, including notes to flesh out the next day. {Smile}
