Daily Update, December 27, 2025

Saturday was my parents' wedding anniversary. I wasn't sure how to mark it, but that's not a new problem. Once Dad went, it was better not to mention it to Mom. If you mentioned her parents or husband, she wanted to go to them. It was no good making her lose them all over again by trying to explain why she couldn't. However, it was a very nice day. {Smile}

After lunch, I took a trip out with my main nurse. First, we stopped at the ice cream parlor, where I picked out a calamansi flavored popsicle. Sure enough, an entire popsicle wasn't too much tart for me. Everyone hears about how only come people can handle hot food... but only some can handle very sour or very salty in the same way, and Hawai'i's learned about both of those. The popsicle was followed by a walk around Prince Kuhio Plaza. Much of the Christmas decorations are still up, though Santa seems to have left the premises. Enjoy Comics is still closed, but they're still clearing it out. My main nurse wondered if they only work on Saturdays. I'm just wondering how they can afford to rent a store that's never open. Anyway, after our walk, my main nurse took me back home.

When we got back home, I called My cousin Kim and left a message on her answering machine. She called back, and I had a nice talk with her and Aunt Valerie. A while after they hung up, Auntie Barbara called, so I had a nice though shorter talk with her. It was wonderful to hear from all of them. {SMILE}

After breakfast, I tried to find some capris I like on Amazon. It was surprisingly hard to find ones that were what I really wanted. I finally finished shopping after lunch. Then came our trip out. When we came back, I settled in by reading articles on the web. Then I called my cousin Kim and left a message. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting until the phone rang. Yes, it was my phone call with my Kim. Not long after we finally hung up, I got the phone call from Auntie Barbara. After that, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I set my best badge collector to working on the badge that can be worked on passively as I began writing up Friday's daily update. I broke to have dinner with my main nurse.

Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I started talking with Michiel while I finished writing up Friday's daily update. When I was done, I teamed up with Michiel, and we did some of his missions. Dr. Faustus joined us after a few missions, then Dennis joined us after one or two more. After a few more with all four of us, Michiel left. We did one or two of Dennis's, then Dr. Faustus and Dennis left, too. I worked on auction house, storage and crafting on a few characters, and talked with Azurette while doing that towards the end. Then I made notes in this while talking with Kitten on Discord. Next, I checked on my friends who play City of Heroes: Homecoming before I said goodnight to Kitten and finished making notes in this. I finished my evening with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 26, 2025

Friday was a quiet day. I didn't contact my cousin Kim like I meant to. I just stayed home and took things easy. {Smile}

After breakfast, I had a nap before I got onto my computer Then I read comics and watched videos on the web right over lunch. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends who play the game. After that, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I got the same badge on each of my top three badge collectors, one after another. Next, Kitten said hi. We talked and teamed up to do more of that passive badge while I cleaned up with the help of my main nurse. Then I went back to City of heroes: Homecoming and Kitten, who I did a few high-level missions with that were part of a story arc my best badge collector had. We continued until Dr. Faustus asked if I was coming to the villain supergroup meeting. I said goodbye to Kitten and joined the supergroup meeting. Dr. Faustus and one other regular were already there. Our leader joined soon. They started wondering what to do, and I mentioned that I have a few contacts I'm working on. They chose one in a post-apocalyptic dimension. Our leader switched to a character who's also doing something in that area. First, we helped the leader finish the last story arc in that series. Then they helped me finish the story arc I'd started and start the next in the series before the group broke up. I stopped to have dinner with my main nurse. {Smile}

When I got back to my computer, I started writing up Thursday's daily update. I broke to look into City of Heroes: Homecoming, and immediately started talking with Dennis, who was busy improving his character. So, I finished daily update, then waited a little more before he was free to team up. We did a few of his missions, getting his character ready to start the endgame. Then we said goodnight. Next, Kitten said hi. We teamed up, and they showed me the mystery they finally solved, well, as far as they solved it, at least. They think there's more, but they're not sure if the next part has been written yet. After that, we worked on the passive badges while watching a My Little Pony episode. Kitten really loves that show, and I can understand why. It's well-written, and more exciting and engaging than most of the "shows for girls" I've encountered. When it was done, we went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and finished the story arc we'd worked on earlier that my best badge collector had, which is why I use past tense. I got a badge for finishing it, so I updated that character's badge record. Then I made notes in this, taking a break to read two comics on the web before I finished my notes in this. I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 25, 2025

Thursday was Christmas Day, so Merry Christmas if you celebrated it. If not, I hope you had a nice day. {Smile}

Early in the afternoon, I texted two cousins, Kim and Nancy, one on each side of my family, and the two cousins I have the most contact information for. Nancy is still visiting an area with poor cellphone reception for her. Somehow, I neglected to get back for a phone call with Kim, but I hope to soon. {Smile}

After breakfast, I opened the few presents I had. Then I got onto my computer. I read comics on the web right through lunch. Then I texted my cousins. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting until Kitten said hi. We got together for a couple of missions with me on a low-level character before Kitten went quiet and faded out. I did a few more missions on the same character by myself. The character is so low, the missions are quite short -- short enough I don't get bored and frustrated before they're over. Next, I set my best badge collector to working on one of a series of badges that can be worked on passively while I wrote up my daily update and read comics until it was time for dinner with my main nurse. It was a somewhat festive Christmas dinner, despite it just being us. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to my character in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten, and we did a few high-level missions on my second-best badge collector. That got interrupted when a friend invited us to a Halloween-themed mission they'd saved. We ran it and stayed with a friend of theirs for two or three missions before Kitten and I left. We resumed the high-level missions until I realized my second-best badge collector had gained three badges. Then I got my best badge collector, and Kitten joined me, and we set both of ours to working on the passive badges while we watched a My Little Pony Christmas episode. Next, we moved the characters to a location that worked better for that passive badge and left them there while we watched two more My Little Pony episodes. After that, I made most of my notes in this while our characters still passively worked on the badges. Then I got Kitten's attention and read a web comic while waiting for them to respond. We stopped working on the badge so I could update my badge records for my top two badge collectors. Next, I said goodnight to Kitten and read one more comic on the web. After that, I finished making notes in this. I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 24, 2025

Today is Christmas, so if you celebrate - whether secularly or religiously- I hope you have a Merry Christmas! If you don't celebrate either way, I hope you have a nice day. {SMILE}

Yesterday was Wednesday, and Christmas Eve. So, in the late afternoon, my main nurse took me down to church. Then he left to get his family. They brought two cars because this included not only my nurse, his wife and two daughters, but son and son's girlfriend, who are here from college. It was a nice service, though we had no priest, but we didn't need one for a service of readings alternating with carols. Yes, that was the whole thing. It was lovely, especially the music. I said goodbye to my nurse's family in the parking lot, as did my nurse. Then my main nurse brought me home. {SMILE}

After breakfast, I read comics on the web, even catching up partway on one that I've been reading more slowly. I continued over lunch. After lunch, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting until Kitten said mew. We got together and started a story arc my best badge collector never got around to for a badge. I set the difficulty too high, so we restarted. Pierogies said hi at a great time to get invited to the team then. We did okay with more help until Kitten had to leave. It was slow, but manageable. I discovered a second badge you can get from the story arc, but I didn't get it then. We did get me the main badge. After that, I went to church. {Smile}

When I came back, I ate dinner with my main nurse before going back to my computer. I began writing up Tuesday's daily update. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, and did a little in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then Kitten said hi. We talked about the story arc from the afternoon. Kitten suggested something I'd begun to realize might be better: run it at minimal difficulty. We did and quit and restarted when we didn't get the badge in the middle mission. We went over strategy and tried again. This time I got it! I didn't fully rescue one character, but the badge was for rescuing everyone else in there, and I did do that. Getting the badge was the main thing for me. Next, Kitten wanted to watch a holiday episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I'm afraid I did some in-game auction house and storage first, but after that, we watched it together. Then we talked some more while I did more in-game auction house, storage and crafting before I began making notes in this. I took a break to play Cross Stitch World, and also did some more auction house, storage and crafting in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I researched something in My Little Pony that Kitten mentioned, as well, before I finished making notes in this. I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 23, 2025

Tuesday afternoon, I took a trip out with my substitute relief nurse to do a few errands. The biggest errand was a stop at Walmart, but I didn't go in. Not when it was my nurse's errand, and it was raining a fair bit. They have no covered drop off. We did a couple shorter errands, too, before going back home. {Smile}

Also, my housekeeper came, and the house cleaner for her attentions. She's started to treat the black mold my main nurse has been complaining about. She also found some termites, and started to treat them, too. I love that she'll do all this. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer to watch videos and read comics on the web. While I was doing that, my housekeeper showed up. A little while later, I had lunch while watching more videos and reading articles on the web, too. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I tried working on the badges I'd worked on last night and got two more. I now have four out of six, and the last two are the hardest. Then I talked with Pierogies, who admitted to being tired, until he disappeared. I decided that was a good time for our errand trip. After we got back, I got into the teen supergroup meeting a little late for me, but the others were still getting into roleplaying, so they didn't really count it as late. I roleplayed with them and snuck in checking on my friends who play the game. Then the group ran two taskforces with just us right through dinner. followed by more roleplaying while the meeting gradually broke up. {Smile}

I checked on my friends who play the game again. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on my teen supergroup member, since I had a bunch from running the two taskforces on her. Next, I hunted on my teen supergroup member until Michiel said hi. We teamed up and did two missions before he left, heading out. I went back to first hunting then the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on my teen supergroup member. After that, I read comics on the web. Then I started making notes in this, breaking for in-game auction house, storage and crafting in City of Heroes: Homecoming on my fifth-best badge collector because some badges she's working on could advance a little after the teen supergroup member's playing earlier. I also read some more comics on the web before I finished notes in this. I finished my evening with saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 22, 2025

On Monday before lunch, I went out with my substitute relief nurse. Our first stop was Island Naturals for lunch. I watched the sugar in my drink and carb in my choices better. Our next stop was Prince Kuhio Plaza, where my substitute relief nurse did some last-minute Christmas shopping. After that, we went to the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens We split an ice cream - they're bigger than popsicles - and I finished a popsicle my substitute relief nurse didn't want to finish. Calamansi was a bit tart for her, but I'm a Hilo girl. I handle tart like a Sri Lankan handles heat. We ate on the way back to my home. {Smile}

Before our trip out, I read comics and articles on the web. After our trip out, I got back onto my computer and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with the in-game auction house, storage and crafting, and started talking with Kitten. I also tried working on a badge on my best badge collector until dinner with my substitute relief nurse. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles on the web and wrote up Sunday's daily update, taking breaks to talk with Kitten, then Dennis on Discord. I joined Dennis on Discord while sharing Sunday's daily update. We did two of my missions and one of his, alternating. Then we said goodnight. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting until Dr. Faustus and a friend I less commonly talk with said hi. I talked with both, then teamed up with Dr. Faustus. We started a story arc, then parted a bit early because they had things to do. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. then I watched some videos on the web before starting notes in this. I took two breaks to work on badges in City of Heroes: Homecoming for my best badge collector. I got one more badge at the end and updated her badge record before I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 21, 2025

 The night before Sunday I didn't get to bed early. Also, I slept fitfully at first. So, when I woke up, I felt tired. I tried to fix this by resting while my main nurse took me down to church. My eyes were closed, as I tried to reach half asleep. It seemed to help. I had more energy after that. {Smile}

We actually got there before the service started. I sat with Auntie Barbara, but not long before I remembered that I'd seen a note from someone in our Daughters of the King chapter about poinsettias still being available. So, I looked into it and claimed four, one each for Uncle Lester, Aunt Marjorie, Dad, and Mom. By then, the announcements had started. The service was nice. We had holy communion with the same supply priest as last week. {Smile}

Afterwards, we had lunch on the lanai. Auntie Barbara wanted to eat with others, and talk later, so I ate at a different table, an talked with a few different folks. Auntie Barbara and I did talk on the way to Charlotte's, and from Charlotte's to my home. Yes, we visited Charlotte at her home, with another Anne along with us. The other Anne and Auntie Barbara were planning to go shopping after they took me home after our visit. It was nice talking with Charlotte again. {Smile}

At home, I got onto my computer. I read articles and comics, and watched videos, all on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting until Kitten said hi. I stopped so Kitten and I could team up. They wanted to show me something in an extra-tough zone which required a fair bit of setting up to get to. That was rather frustrating, but I was happy to be playing with Kitten. Pierogies tried to join us, but he didn't realize how tough the zone is, and left, frustrated. Kitten kept working with me and finally got me to the place where they could show me a puzzle they found. They've been working on it for a month. It's pretty badly stuck, which is frustrating for them. They're pretty sure it's one or two small things just slightly off... We wound down from this talking about eh puzzle and the frustration with it not long before I was called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I went back to my computer, and City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and found Kitten. We talked until they said they were tired and faded out. Next, Ulty said hi, and invited me to a taskforce. I ran it with her, Jenny's Player, Nyxy, and the team Ulty recruited. Mostly the same group ran the sequel taskforce, too. My character accidentally gained two levels before I caught it and turned of experience. That character will miss some content, though I could do much of it in a retroactive way that doesn't let me invite friends after beginning an episode. However, I've been reminding myself that I have enough other characters ready to do it, this isn't really much of a loss. I started to fix up that character after the taskforce. I stopped when Dr. Faustus said hi so we could team up. I switched to my younger Hobbit, and we ran a mission that earned a new contact, with Dr. Faustus playing her mage friend who helped her with what she was doing.  When it got to be time, we said goodnight. Then I made notes in this. I took a brief break to play Cross Stitch World, and a longer break for some auction house, crafting, and storage on City of Heroes: Homecoming That included not just improving that character who ran the taskforces but talking with Pierogies. I hope he's less frustrated after I explained how tough that zone really is. I finished my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 20, 2025

On Saturday, late in the afternoon, my main nurse took me down to church. They were having a "blue Christmas service" for people who are struggling with being happy through the holidays, especially if they're missing loved ones who've died or live elsewhere, but also for other reasons. It was ecumenical, with ministers from a few different churches involved, along with our own deacon. {smile}

I talked with Laurie, a fellow member of the Daughters of the King, beforehand, and one of Charlotte's daughters, who used to be one of our housekeepers, afterwards. She's part of why I say, "our families are friends," since we both got drawn into our parents' friendship, becoming friends ourselves. We had cookies on the lanai afterwards, which gave me a chance to talk to a few more people. Then my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

After breakfast. I read comics and articles and watched videos, all on the web. Then I had lunch with some more videos and comics on the web. I also wrote up my daily update, taking breaks for more videos and comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, then worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. I also talked with Pierogies and Kitten, but they were both too tired to team up and play. So, I tried to badge hunt on my best badge hunter, but she's getting harder to badge hunt on, so I gave up and went to church. When we got back from the service, I played Cross Stitch World and read articles on the web until I had dinner with my main nurse. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting until The_Cyberchill, a Twitch streamer I know, said hi. We teamed up and started a mission together. Then they stopped to improve their character while I hunted on my own. When they were done, we got back to my mission. Things went a little better, so we did a couple more missions. Next, Dr Faustus joined us. We did a few more missions before Kitten joined us, too, followed quickly by Dragons and a friend of theirs. We did a couple more before Dr. Faustus left, and Kitten said they were tired and faded out. Dragons, their friend and I did three more missions before we broke up. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I started making notes in this. I did break to play Cross Stitch World before finishing my notes in this. I closed out my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Froward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 19, 2025

On Friday, after breakfast, I napped. I'd gotten to bed too late and not settled quickly or thoroughly enough. I was also chilled, dn being under the covers does warm me up. The rest of the day, I stayed home and took it easy. {Smile}

After my nap, I went onto my computer. first, I watched a bunch of videos on the web. then came lunch, when I read some articles on the web in addition to watching more videos there. After lunch, I watched more videos and read more articles, along with reading some comics, yes, all on the web. I also began writing up Thursday's daily update and began talking with Nox on Discord, the chat server. I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming just in time for my villain supergroup meeting. I was not the first one there, so I immediately joined the roleplaying. Eventually, we moved on to two winter-themed missions, followed by a trial that has special rewards this week. After that, the meeting quickly broke up, and I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I watched videos on the web and finished writing up Thursday's daily update. I also continued talking with Nox on Discord, the chat server. When my update was finished, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, and looked at the in-game auction house, storage and crafting, and checked on my friends who play the game. Then I began hunting on my higher-level teen supergroup member until Pierogies said hi. He and I teamed up with me on the same character and started doing missions. After one or two, Michiel joined us. After a few more missions, Pierogies left for bed. Michiel and I did another mission and were just starting a second mission when Phonso invited us to a taskforce. We joined Phonso, who recruited the rest of a team. Then we ran trial. Next, Michiel left for bed. A few others left, too, so Phonso recruited another team. That team ran a second trial. After that, Phonso recruited a third, slightly small team, and we ran a third trial. Then we said goodnight as the team broke up. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Next, I made notes in this. I took breaks to play Cross Stitch World, and to do the in-game auction house storage and crafting on City of Heroes: Homecoming. When I was done with my notes, I said the Lord's Prayer and read forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, December 18, 2025

Thursday started with video counselling. I was a little late, but I think we had a good session. The next will be in the new year, at least two weeks in a row to see how the holidays went. {Smile}

I called my cousin Kim and talked with both her and my Aunt Valerie. I let them know their presents should be there before Christmas, but Mom's picture books should get there significantly later. Then we caught up on what each other are doing. It was a nice talk. {Smile}

I also called my cousin Nancy but got her answering machine when I didn't get dropped first. So, I texted her, too. I picked out some gifts on Amazon while waiting for a reply. I got a text back. She's in an area where she gets dropped so much, she's given up trying to call. I confirmed her address. I ordered the gifts I'd picked out earlier a while later. That took a couple of tries because on the first try, I forgot to have them send the gifts to her address instead of mine. I texted her again afterwards to let her know they were on their way, and when they might arrive. {Smile}

After my video counselling session, I watched videos and read articles and comics on the web. I also began calling and texting the two cousins I mentioned. I read comics on the web during lunch, before I finished the calls and texts. Those were intermittent and continued well into the afternoon. Partway through the afternoon, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, then worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I started writing up daily update. In the game, I spotted a trial I hoped I might get a badge from for my best badge collector. I ran it on her but didn't get the badge. I guess she had it, but I didn't spot it. She does have a lot of badges. I've realized my second-beat badge collector might not have it, so I'll have to watch for it. I finished the texts with my cousin Nancy. Then Ulty invited me to a taskforce. I ran it, finishing enough before dinner to squeeze in a bath and a little more daily update writing. {smile}

After dinner, I read articles on the web and finished my daily update. Then I checked Discord, the chat server, and found out that Dennis wanted to team up. I dashed into City of Heroes: Homecoming and teamed up with Dennis. We did some winter-themed missions for the badges they give until he left for bed. Next, I checked on my friends. After that, I started to check things on my second-best badge collector when I got invited to a team by someone I didn't know. I also got invited to a taskforce by Divi, but it filled and started without me while I was figuring out the team, which was a new guy wanting a low-level trial popular for levelling. I started to help him set it up. Then I happily handed the organization over to another who showed up and seemed happy to lead. I established long-term connections with the volunteer leader and ran the trial. We lost the new fellow partway way through. then our leader organized and recruited a taskforce, followed by its sequel, another taskforce. I ran both, despite it really being too late for the second one. Then it broke up. I did the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I made notes in this, taking breaks for auction house, storage, crafting, and reading a comic on the web. After I finished notes in this, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}
