Daily Update, June 8

Late Saturday night, I set my alarm clock half an hour early because I remembered that church is switching to one service at 9 am instead of one a 8am and another at 10am. When I can, I go to the 10 am, but I don't want to miss it entirely all summer. Anyway, Sunday morning, my main nurse helped me remember that one service at 9 am starts next week, not this week. Thankfully, that gave us time to go back so I could get nuts to contribute to lunch, and make sure the back door was locked. {Smile}

We still got to church a bit before the announcements. I got to visit with Auntie Barbara and Michelle before the announcements as well as sit with them during the service. I visited with others, too, and got the nuts out before the service. It was a nice service, with a thoughtful sermon by the guest preacher.

Afterwards, I checked with the organizer of our new Daughters of the King chapter. I learned to call her earlier in the day. I also scheduled a meeting the gal who helped me last week. We'll meet Monday afternoon. {Smile}

I had lunch on the church lanai with Auntie Barbara and my main nurse. I enjoyed talking with them, as well as the food, though I barely got crumbs of the chocolate cake due to going back for dessert rather than getting it on the first pass with my main meal. I still managed to leave enough for one more to get some, which was a relief. Afterwards, my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise on Sunday. {Smile}

On way down to church and again on the way back, I played Cross Stitch World. When I got home, I took a nap, since I'd gotten up early. When I got up, I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update, with breaks for more web browsing and Cross Stitch World, as well as reading web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. When Pierogies said hi, we started to team with a quick hunt followed by missions. Dennis joined us during the first true mission. We did two or three true missions, including one limited to an hour that we started less than an hour before dinner. We finished it with a little time to spare, I'm happy to say. {Smile}

After dinner I played Cross Stitch World and made notes in this. I also browsed the web a bit before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming and starting on paperwork. I also began talking with Nox on the chat server. Then Ulty said hi, and invited me to a taskforce she was doing with Jenny's Player. She found two more friends and asked if she should fill the team. No one said yes, and I assured them I'd run it with less, so we ran it just over half full and did fine. After the taskforce, we visited a bit before the others left. Then I did paperwork. Next, I played by myself on the teen supergroup member. I started with a hunt, then switched to a story arc I'd started. I did everything in it, but the last mission didn't go well. It was late enough that I set her up to restart, then did the paperwork that playing her generated. Next, I made notes in this, with a break to play Cross Stitch World. I also did some more paperwork and badge hunting in City of Heroes: Homecoming. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 7, 2025

On Saturday I asked my main nurse to take me to the park before lunch, not after. He did so with reservations. We walked by the wharf, and around by the ice cream parlor for a popsicle, then back to the car, for around 40 minutes of walking. Then my main nurse did some errands on the way home. I'd hoped to miss the heat of the day, but when I looked up Hilo's temperatures later, no, it was about as hot, and the sun was even more direct. Apparently, the heat of the day in Hilo at this time of year is from around 10am to 4 pm.  The only ways to avoid it without getting up a lot earlier are air conditioning and do it in the late afternoon or evening. Well, now I know. {smile}

That was my exercise for the day, and forty minutes of walking is a good amount. {Smile}

On the way down to the park, and also on the way back, I played Cross Stitch World. I continued when I got home until lunch. Then I did some web browsing and web comic reading. Next, I wrote up Friday's daily update. After that, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Next, i went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with a little paperwork, but soon Pierogies said hi. We teamed up and fit two missions nicely before my dinner. {Smile}

After diner, I made notes in this and browsed a little on Amazon. Then I played some Cross Stitch World. I also answered Nox on the chat server before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, but soon Dennis said hi. We teamed up and did a mission together. Then he invited Dr. Faustus, and the three of us did another mission together. After that, Dr. Faustus suggested inviting Rav. The four of us did another couple of missions before Rav left because it was getting late for them. I also talked with Nox on the chat server. Dr. Faustus, Dennis and I did two more missions before Dennis left for bed, and Dr. Faustus left for work. Alone, I did some paperwork. I was just about caught up with the paperwork when Kitten said hi. We teamed up and did a few missions. Then I broke to make notes in this. and talk with Kitten on the chat server until I left for bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 6, 2025

On Friday before lunch, my main nurse took me to Safeway. I picked up some prescriptions. Then I picked out a sandwich for lunch. After that, he took me home. We did a few errands on the way back.

My only exercise was walking around Safeway, and I didn't walk around that much of the store. I'll just have to make up for it another day. {Smile}

On the rides to and from Safeway, I played Cross Stitch World. then I h ad lunch with more Cross Stitch World. Afterwards, I browsed on the web and read web comics. Next, I wrote up much of Thursday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I didn't really settle in until so close to the villain supergroup meeting, I went right there. I was the second of four to show up. We roleplayed a bit before we ran a taskforce Dr. Faustus recruited others for to fill out the team. Then the supergroup's leader had to leave. It looked like Dr Faustus left too. so, the other gal did, as well. However, Dr. Faustus came back, saying his computer had disconnected. He and I joined a strike force that was recruiting. We ran it and then Dr. Faustus left. I had time for a little paperwork before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing up Thursday's daily update, reading web comics in a couple of breaks, before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, then began playing by myself on the character Kitten designed. Then Rav joined me, but we found the mission tough. When Phonso invited me to a taskforce, Rav insisted on going to farm with Kitten. So, I joined the taskforce. Kitten wasn't ready when it filled and took off. I also talked with Nox a little on the chat server. After the taskforce, Phonso did another taskforce. Kitten did join us for the second one. Phonso left after the second taskforce. Kitten and I started to team, with me on the character they designed. that character gained their last level for a while shortly after we started. I trained after that first mission. Then we continued to do missions. Dragons joined us, then Dr. Faustus joined us. Not long after that, Dragons left to check on something. Kitten, Dr. Faustus and I did a couple more missions. After that, I left and started making notes in this. I paused to read web comics before I finished making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 5, 2025

 On Thursday after breakfast I had online counselling. The session went pretty well, I think. {Smile}

Then before lunch, my main nurse took me to my hearing aids' appointment. The audiologist fixed them right up, changing stuff, and drying them out. He even gave me new tips as well as new buds, so I can change them both in the meantime. I've been having a lot of trouble trying to clean the tips without losing them. They collect dead skin like crazy. I didn't lose them, but I didn't get anywhere near all the dead skin and such out, either. After that appointment, my main nurse took me home again. {Smile}

Then in the midafternoon, one of the Daughters of the King members came over 20and went through the first two sections of the discernment, even though another gal and the organization talk about one a week. She's sure we did fine today, and that two a week is quite doable. Maybe, but I'm a slow thinker, and only thought about the first part ahead of time. Questions came up with the second that I'll need to think over, try to look up, and maybe even ask next time.

No exercise on Thursday. Zumba Gold on Wednesday worked both the arms and the legs, so I felt I needed a break. {Smile}

I played a little Cross Stitch World after counselling, before my hearing aids' appointment, and more Cross Stitch World on the way down to the appointment, and again on the way back. After the appointment I had lunch. I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web until the visit from the gal with the Daughters of the King. After she left, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started on paperwork. Then I played by myself on the character Kitten designed. Dennis said hi right before dinner, and we arranged to meet up after dinner. {Smile}

I did meet Dennis in City of Heroes: Homecoming right after dinner. We did several missions together, split between his and mine. As we were doing one last mission Phonso invited me to a taskforce. I finished the mission with Dennis, and he and I said goodnight. Then I switched characters and joined Phonso. We ran taskforce with the team he'd recruited. I also said goodnight to Nox, having missed talking even more than usual. When the taskforce was done, I said goodnight to Phonso, and started on paperwork. Then I played some Cross Stitch World and made notes in this, with breaks for more City of Heroes: Homecoming paperwork and shopping on Amazon.  {Smile}

Daily Update, June 4, 2025

On Wednesday after breakfast, my main nurse took me to my podiatrist. I called to find out where his new office is, since I remembered they'd warned me they'd have moved by my next appointment. However, I didn't catch that my nurse was going to the old office until we were a little late. We found it with only a little difficulty. They took us to a room fairly quickly, but we waited a long time for the doctor to come. Eventually he did come. I showed him my shoes, and he approved of the inserts for the too large ones. He suggested a cobbler might help with the too small dancing shoes. {Smile}

Then, in the late afternoon, my main nurse took me to my last Zumba Gold class of the quarter. I got signed up for next quarter and enjoyed the class. My main nurse took me home afterwards with some errands on the way. {Smile}

Zumba Gold was my exercise for the day. An hour of dancing with just a few short breaks should be enough, I hope. {Smile}

On the way to and from the podiatrist, as well as waiting for him to see me, I played Cross Stitch World. After the podiatrist, I had lunch. Then I played a little more Cross Stitch World. I also browsed on the web and read a couple of web comics. Then I cleaned myself up with my main nurse's help. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Pierogies for an individual high-level mission. Dennis joined us for the last two battles. Then I had to get ready to leave for Zumba Gold. I had dinner right after we got back.

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and read web comics. Then I wrote up Tuesday's daily update, with breaks for reading more web comics. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then I began to solo on the character Kitten designed, but I noticed Phonso was on and managed to join the taskforce he was recruiting. We ran it. I also talked with Nox a bit. After that taskforce, Phonso recruited another taskforce. I joined and ran it, too. Then he left, and I did paperwork. Then I played Cross Stitch World before I began to do some hunts on the character Kitten designed. When I realized it was later than I thought, I stopped and concentrated on making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 3, 2025

On Tuesday, my relief nurse took me out before lunch. We did a few errands, including meeting the nursing company's owner for something. Then we went back home.

I did all my arm exercises after dinner, with my relief nurse monitoring me. That included my arm resistance exercises, my arm weight training exercises, both standing and sitting, and my arm swinging exercises. I was tired afterwards, so I didn't try to do more. {Smile}

On the ride, I both talked with my relief nurse and played Cross Stitch World on my phone. After I got home, I had lunch. Then I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. I also read web comics. Next, I began writing up my daily update. I broke to go into City of Heroes Homecoming to get some paperwork in before the teen supergroup meeting. I was a little early to the meeting. We roleplayed at first, meeting a prospective member, who declined to join when they found out some characters were underage, including mine. The regulars who could stay did a nice story arc made by Nyxy. That ran into dinner slightly for me, and bedtime for another member, but we both wanted to finish the last mission we'd already started, so we did. {Smile}

After dinner, I did my arm exercises while my relief nurse monitored me. Then I finished writing up daily update and played a tiny bit of Cross Stitch World before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on the teen supergroup. Yes, they were still meeting. So, I joined them and started roleplaying. Phonso invited me to a taskforce, but I declined because we were still roleplaying. We were still roleplaying when he invited me to the next one that he did, so I declined again. We stopped soon after, but he'd already begun when the group broke up. So, I did some paperwork and played Cross Stitch World. Then I got together with Dr. Faustus and Kitten, and we ran one of my new, still low-level villain supergroup member's contacts. We did most of a story arc before Dr. Faustus left. Kitten and I did one more mission, finishing the arc. I think about then I said goodnight to Nox on chat server, having not really talked. I changed to the character Kitten designed for me, and we did one mission, then cleared it afterwards, since I had some time, but not enough for most other missions. After that, I did a small bit of paperwork. Then I finished the evening by making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 2, 2025

On Monday after breakfast, my relief nurse took me to my last line dancing class of the quarter. We didn't have a final; I doubt any of the county's classes for seniors have one. I got there slightly late, and found them dancing much closer together, and even holding hands within rows. This is new, but I joined them and found it only a little trickier. After the first piece, we went back to the more spread-out formation I'm used to. It was a nice session. For the last few songs, we had a guest teacher who was talking about a new class he's starting next quarter. Unfortunately, it would conflict with the teen supergroup meetings on Tuesday afternoons. After the class, my relief nurse took me back home. {Smile}

That class was my exercise for the day. I did over an hour of dancing, even if you take off the first few minutes for me being late, and a little more for each break. We do have short breaks between most pieces. {Smile}

On my way down to line dancing, I mostly talked with relief nurse, and I admired scenery, but I did also play some Cross Stitch World. On my way back, we just talked, and I admired the scenery. After we got back, I had lunch. Then I played Cross Stitch World and browsed the web. Next, I read some web comics. After that, I wrote up much but not all of Sunday's daily update before I into City of Heroes: Homecoming later than usual. I did some paperwork, then went out to read more web comics. After that, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten and picked a timed mission. We were slow to start, but managed okay once we did. Then Dennis joined us, and we ended up hurrying to finish before dinner, which I was only slightly late for. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World. Then I finished Sunday's daily update and read more web comics before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started on paperwork. T hen I broke to read more web comics. After that, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and did more paperwork. I also began talking with Nox on the chat server. Next, Phonso invited me to a taskforce. I ran it with him and the team he recruited. The team broke up afterwards, so I did a few hunts on the teen supergroup member. I was trying to get her better prepared for the meeting the next day. I ended playing there with one regular mission, which was tough alone, but I stuck with it and finished it. After that, I did a mix of paperwork, Cross Stitch World, and making notes in this to finish the evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 1, 2025

On Sunday. I got up slightly earlier because I'd gone to bed slightly earlier. My main nurse took me to church, and we got there shortly before the announcements. It was nice to visit with folks a little before the service. I sat with Auntie Barbara, and we enjoyed a nice service, though fewer were there than usual, for reasons I don't know. I sat with Auntie Barbara and our former deacon during lunch afterwards. Then my main nurse took me home, with an errand or two on the way. {Smile}

After dinner, I did my arm resistance exercises, then my arm weight training exercises - both standing and sitting, with my arm swinging exercises at the end. that's a full upper-body workout. {Smile}

On my ride to church, I did some shopping on the web, then played Cross Stitch World most of the rest of the way down. On the ride home, I just played Cross Stitch World the whole way. After I got home, I played Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update before I cleaned myself up with my main nurse's help. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then Pierogies said hi, and we teamed up. We did one long mission followed by a shorter one, that ran late enough, I was somewhat late to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read web comics. Then I did my exercises. Next, I played Cross Stitch World. I also made notes in this and read web comics before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did a lot of paperwork on multiple characters. I also said hi to Azurette, Divi, and The_Cyberchill. I learned that The_Cyberchill streams on Twitch under that name. I also learned they were teaming with Mollymauk76 who streams on Twitch under that name. Mollymauk76's team was doing the last mission of a player-made story arc. I joined on a moderately high-level character and got a couple of badges. Then I switched to run a strike force with both of them. The team split up afterwards, and I did a mix of paperwork, web browsing, Cross Stitch World, and making notes in this until bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, May 31, 2025

On Saturday, my relief nurse and I went for a drive. We did a couple of errands, then went to Liliu'okalani Gardens but we didn't walk anywhere near as far as I do with my main nurse. Still, I did enjoy the scenery, and getting out. After the walk, we went back home.

I did not time the walk, but I suspect I got around 15 minutes of walking in at the park. I didn't do any more exercise, though I meant to. I suspect recent higher blood sugar readings in the morning, might be related somehow to less frequent exercise. I do it longer, but it looks like I need it more frequently. {Smile}

After breakfast, before going out, I finished reading the catechism with a few breaks for browsing the web and playing Cross Stitch World. On the ride, I played Cross Stitch World and talked with my relief nurse. After we got back, I had lunch. Then I played a little Cross Stitch World before I wrote up Friday's daily update, with breaks to play cross Stitch World. After that, I started notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, then played by myself, soon gaining a level for the teen supergroup member's sister, a moderately low-level character just a little higher than her sister. Pierogies said hi, and we teamed up on fairly high-level characters. We did two missions. Dennis joined us near the end of the second. I had to leave for dinner right after that, but at least we got to play together for a little bit. {Smile}

After dinner, I shopped on Amazon. Then I made notes in this before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I answered Nox on the chat server before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming for more paperwork. Next, I got invited to run a popular taskforce. I joined and ran it. Afterwards, I did more paperwork, pausing a couple of times to play Cross Stitch World. I also made more notes in this. Then I played by myself on the teen supergroup member before finishing the evening with more paperwork and notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, May 30, 2025

On Friday, I stayed home and took it easy. the secretary from the nursing company swung by, and we exchanged checks and such, since it's the end of the month. My relief nurse talked with her briefly, too. {Smile}

 I didn't get any exercise done, despite intending to. {rueful smile}

In the morning, I played Cross Stitch World and studied the catechism. I also browsed on the web. Then I wrote up Thursday's daily update right before lunch. After lunch, I played more Cross Stitch World. Then I checked the chat server and responded in some conversations. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then a fellow invited me to a group running fairly high-level missions while I was on the fairly high-level character I played the day before. I joined, them, and ran two missions, which made me a few minutes late to the villain supergroup meeting. I took my new, still low-level villain. There was only one other member there. She greeted me with the news that the leader had just left, and my friend who invited me to the group wasn't coming. I suggested a mission, but she suggested roleplaying, and that honestly sounded more interesting. We roleplayed and talked for two and a half hours. Her character is so guarded, I learned little, though more than she realized she'd told me. I learned even more out-of-character. Eventually, she left, and I squeezed in a hunt before dinner, since the character is so low-level, hunts are quick. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and made notes in this, with some breaks to browse the web. Then I went back into City of heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, and talked briefly with Dr. Faustus, but he was on a full team. So, I did more paperwork. I also talked with Nox on the chat server. Then Doctor Faustus suddenly invited me to pair of high-level task forces. I joined them and when the leader finished recruiting a full team, we ran it. Next, I switched to a different character to run it again, since the leader and some others wanted to, and you get better rewards if you don't repeat too soon on the same character. I also established long-term contact with the leader. After that, I did paperwork, then started making notes in this. Next, I did more paperwork. Then I played by myself on the teen supergroup member until I shifted to a fairly long session of Cross Stitch World. After that, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and the teen supergroup member, first playing by myself doing hunts, then doing paperwork on her. After that, I started a hunt on her older, barely higher-level sister. I got her up a level, but I didn't finish the hunt, nor did I train for her new level yet. I'm still debating what to choose for the new level. {Smile}
