Daily Update, March 3, 2026

The night before Tuesday, I got to bed a while after two am. Each day I manage to get closer to two am than 2:30 am, I got up around nine, right on schedule. I feel better I still managed to drowse a few times but suspect my blood sugar encouraged that, though getting a little more sleep might help, too. {Smile}

A while before lunch, my substitute relief nurse took me to Kamana Senior Center for my Creative Writing class. We had a nice lecture. When we broke into groups, I joined a group where everyone was working on revising handouts to tighten and clarify the writing. I do need to revise my story now that all major parts are more-or-less in. After class, my substitute relief nurse took me home {Smile}

In the middle of the afternoon, my financial adviser called. I told her what I'd found out at the state retirement office. Then we discussed the phone conversation last week and what it means to my future. This will take more planning, as well as more work, but at least we got started. {smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer. I checked some characters in City of Heroes: Homecoming and worked with the in-game auction house for one. I also wrote some of Monday's daily update before going to class. After I got back, I browsed articles and videos and read comics over and after lunch. Then I wrote more of Monday's daily update. I got the phone call while I was going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. After the call, I checked on my friends who play the game, and a few characters, too. Next, I went to the teen supergroup meeting on my higher-level member, arriving first. The message was the same as last week, so I checked with Ulty. She wasn't feeling up to it again. The fellow who's been coming arrived while we were talking. I let him know what she said and checked with Nyxy. They weren't feeling up to playing either but fully expect to be back next week. Jenny's Player has stepped back from the game, and the only other member I know was not there. He was probably at his Tuesday night tabletop role-playing game. The fellow and I ran the next story arc in the alternate reality to the apocalyptic place. We ran right up to my dinner time ne his bedtime. I read Forward Day by Day during dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing Monday's daily update. Then I read some comics before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I also started talking with Nox on Discord, the chat server. I checked my characters and checked my friends again. Next, I began playing by myself on the new, ranged version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. I hunted and got a mission I'd been hoping for because of badges, so I ran that mission. After that, I worked on another badge. Then I started another mission but stopped to message Dr. Faustus on Discord. I read a comic or two before going back and starting that mission again. However, a distant friend invited me to a taskforce. So, I quit the mission and ran the taskforce with them and the team they recruited. Dr. Faustus said hi during the taskforce, so we talked. It was too late to get together by the time the taskforce ended. I just worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Then I wrote a tiny bit of this and made notes for the rest of it before I said the Lord's Prayer to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 2, 2026

The night before Monday, I got to bed shortly after 2 am. That's the earliest recently. I noticed a little drowsing during the day, but not much, and it might have been blood sugar, considering that treatments that helped that helped me wake up. {Smile}

Just after breakfast, the secretary of the nursing company came by for my monthly check. {Smile}

After she left, I got ready to go to my First Timer's Line Dance Class. Then my substitute relief nurse took me to class. I was late, and tried to apologize as I got checked in, tardiness is just not as big a problem. It was a fun class. The first dance I joined in on was particularly easy. Some later ones were significantly trickier. {Smile}

After class, my substitute relief nurse took me to get popsicles. I got banana cream for now, and guava cream for later. Then she took me home. {Smile}

After lunch, I called my financial adviser. She wasn't in that day, but they promised she'd call the next day. {Smile}

When I got home, after class and the popsicles, I got onto my computer. I started with reading a couple of articles. Then I read a bunch of comics over lunch. Next, I finished writing Sunday's daily update. After that I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I checked various characters. Next, Dr. Faustus said hi. We joined the later short, large-group event, since it was time, and ran it. After that, the large group broke up, and Dr. Faustus and I teamed up. I got the new, ranged version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. We started running her story arcs, first finishing the one I'd done hunts for, which was the first in a series of four. I played right through dinner. {Smile}

When I finished the first story arc, I continued with all of the next two sequels. After they were done, my character still wasn't quite high enough level for the last sequel in the series of four story arcs. So, we ran part of an unrelated story arc before we switched to a different story arc unrelated to either that I'd done before. That got me high enough for the third sequel in the series of four. We did almost all of that one, then talked as we wound down. I also worked on the in-game auction house and storage and learned some strategy tips from Dr. Faustus. Then I got a new contact and started it before I made notes in this. I only took a few breaks, including one for Cross Stitch World, and one to read Forward Day by Day, since I'd missed it by playing over dinner. I ended my evening with the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 1, 2026

The night before Sunday, I got to bed just after 2 am. I got up a while before 9am in hopes of getting to church in time for the 10am service and didn't feel a need for much drowsing or any napping later. {Smile}

My main nurse took me to church after breakfast. I mostly played Cross Stitch World on the way down. We actually arrived just before the announcements. We were settling down when they started. I sat just in front of my main nurse, since Auntie Barbara was busy with Sunday School for two kids. During personal celebration time, I and a couple other Daughters of the King went up, and we celebrated me finally formally joining the Daughters of the King (or finishing the paperwork and getting it submitted properly). Auntie Barbara came and sat with me a bit before the communion and stayed for the rest of the service. {Smile}

After the service, I got ready to join the Daughters of the King meeting but learned that it's next week. I had been misinformed in the buffet line. So, I sat with Auntie Barbara and several others for lunch. Afterwards, I rode along with Auntie Barbara while she went to Safeway so we could talk privately in the car, since she's concerned about the recent meeting with the head of the nursing company and my financial adviser. Walking around the store with her was nice, too. When we were done, she took me home. {Smile}

After I got home, I got onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos, both on the net. Then I shared the daily update I wrote the night before. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Dennis and Kitten. I teamed up with both of them after a short wait, during which I checked the new version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. Dennis, Kitten and I did a few missions. We started with Dennis's, and continued, since that's a useful story arc in building a character, though I did change characters after the first mission. I thought I messaged Dr Faustus on Discord, the chat server. After a while, Kitten decided they needed a nap and left. Dennis and I did one more quick mission before he left for a break. This gave me time to clean myself up with the help of my main nurse before dinner. During dinner, I watched the news on TV and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

After dinner, I found I hadn't properly messaged Dr Faustus, so I did message them on Discord. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. I found Dennis, and we teamed up to do a few missions. Dr Faustus joined us, then so did Pierogies. Next, Dr Faustus disconnected repeatedly until they gave up. Pierogies left after a while. After that, Dennis left, too. So, I played by myself on the new version of the lower-level villain supergroup member. I finished a contact and did some hunts that start another contact. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. I also chatted with Nox on Discord and read comics. Next, I did some more work on the in-game auction house and storage and played by myself on a character who's good at hunting. Then I worked some more on the in-game auction house storage and crafting. After that, I made notes in this, taking one break to read a comic. Then I began writing this up, since it seemed a little early to head to bed. I ended my day by saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 28, 2026

The night before Saturday, I got to bed a little after 20. Yes, the better part of half an hour earlier than the night before. I'd like to do this more regularly, though even earlier would be better yet. One step at a time, though. Despite more sleep, I felt tired when I first woke up. However, it wore off as I moved around. {Smile}

Over breakfast, my nurse and I watched the news about Iraq. That was quite a surprise, especially when they first learned about the ruler of Iraq being killed. That was shortly after breakfast for me. {smile}

After I got tired of watching the news, which was developing slowly except for that one flurry about the leader of Iraq being killed, I turned on my computer. I read articles and comics, and watched videos, all on the web, right through lunch. Then I wrote up most of Friday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the in-game auction house. I think I did one mission on the new version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. Then I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Kitten, who invited me to join them in a high-level zone. We ran a couple of individual missions while waiting for someone to start recruiting a large group for special content in that zone. While we were doing that, Dennis joined the group. When the large group broke up, Dennis, Kitten and I teamed up. We did a mission of mine, then one of Dennis's, then a mission of mine from a different contact. I usually like to continue stories, but they were already by the mission, and it turned out to be the last from that contact anyway. Then Dennis left, and after some thought, Kitten did, too. I worked on the in-game auction house, crafting, and storage until dinner, which wasn't that far off. I read Forward Day by Day and watched the news during supper. {Smile}

After supper, I checked comics on the web. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Dennis and Kitten. Dennis said hi back. We teamed up and did a series of missions of his. He offered to do mine, but I was too interested in the story his let me live for a while. Then he decided it was time for bed, so we said goodnight. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. Then I wrote a bit of this. Next, I looked around and said hi to the new fellow in my villain supergroup. We got together and roleplayed. when he was quiet for a while, I wrote a bit more of this until he came back and apologized for steeping away from the computer. We resumed roleplaying. I noticed the time, started to excuse myself, and thought to show him my character's room before we parted. then I finished writing this, since I was mostly done already, with one pause to browse on Amazon. I ended my evening with the Lord's Prayer and tried to get to bed a little earlier than most nights. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 27, 2026

The night before Friday, I got to bed a bit before 2:30 am. I had some trouble settling but finally got to sleep. I got up at normal time and drowsed on the way to class. I seemed better after that, so I didn't try more rest. {smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me to my ballroom dance: samba class. I talked with an older fellow. (At 57 I'm one of the youngest, since you can't enroll until your 55th birthday. I once enquired into a session where the enrollment closed between one and two weeks before my 55th birthday. They said to come back next session.) I danced with him a few times. I also danced with the teacher, his assistant, and one gal I often dance with. Another gal I usually dance with was sitting it out this week, but we talked {Smile}

After class, my main nurse took me to get a popsicle. I got haupia. It has too much coconut powder to be like the coconut milk pudding that's the original haupia, but it's tasty when you're expecting that. After that, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

Back at home, I got onto my computer. I read articles and comics and watched videos right over lunch and into the afternoon. Then I wrote up most of the rest of my daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Kitten. They responded, but only once before falling silent. Next, Dr Faustus said hi. We teamed up and did a mission that's available for a limited time, with me on my higher-level villain supergroup member. Afterwards, we went to our villain supergroup meeting half an hour early together. One other soon arrived. We roleplayed greetings, then were quiet until leader and one of the two new ones showed up. I was really surprised it started so much ahead of it. With my teen supergroup, arriving even two minutes early means I'm likely to be the first one there. Our leader and one of the new members arrived pretty much on time. We had an investiture ceremony for the new fellow, who I established easier contact with. After that, we did a mission with me on my lower-level villain supergroup member. Then Dr. Faustus left. Our leader talked about leaving, too, but led another mission, then a pair of missions twice before we broke up. I realized it was dinnertime, so I went to dinner, reading Forward Day by Day while I ate. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to my computer and quickly finished Thursday's daily update. Then I read a couple of comics before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Kitten both in the game and on Discord, the chat server. I also talked with my villain supergroup's new member who came to the meeting earlier. Next, I worked on the in-game auction house and storage on my new version of my lower-level villain supergroup member until Kitten said hi. We did a few missions with me on the same character, finishing one story arc and starting another with the same contact. After that, Kitten admitted to being tired, and went quiet. I worked on storage on the same character while I wondered what to do next. Then Dr. Faustus said hi, and we teamed up. We finished the story arc I'd started with Kitten, and the contact I'd been working on the day before. Next, we started another contact before we said goodnight. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting until Dragons said hi. They talked me into doing a mission that went longer than I expected. I followed that with minimal in-game auction house and storage before I started making notes in this. I checked back in City of Heroes: Homecoming once or twice and watched one video before I finished the notes. I said the Lord's Prayer to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 26, 2026

The night before Thursday, I got to bed a little before 2:30. I drowsed in the car when we went out, pretty much on all legs of the trip, but that seemed to do the trick pretty well. No deeper nap was needed. {Smile}

During breakfast, I started my online video counselling session. We discussed yesterday's conference call, and possibilities for my future. It's productive, though somewhat scary. I'm not sure how that much change could not be scary. {smile}

My main nurse took me out a while after lunch. I drowsed, due to less sleep the night before. Our first stop was the state retirement office. I asked them to check Mom's record again, on two points this time. They confirmed that she did indeed not select the survivor benefits, and that she did get the higher payments that should come with that choice. I guess that's settled, if not int he way she said. Next, my main nurse and I tried to stop at Target, only to learn they were closed because they had no power. After that, we went to another store so my main nurse could pop in quickly. Then we went back home. {Smile}

After counselling, I read articles and comics, and watched videos, continuing right through lunch. Then I wrote up Wednesday's daily update before my main nurse took me out. After we came back, I began writing this up but quickly stopped to go into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I finished the story arc I was soloing on the new version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. Then I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Kitten and wrote a little more of this. Next, Kitten responded in City of Heroes: Homecoming. We teamed up and did two individual missions, with me still on the new version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. After that, I had dinner while reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

After dinner, my main nurse helped me clean myself up. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Dr. Faustus. They helped me do one more individual mission on the new version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. Then we did a special mission to unlock a contact for that character of mine. Next, we did three more individual missions and another special mission to unlock another contact for the same character. After that, we chose one of my new contacts and did much of their story arc before we said goodnight. Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on two characters. Next, I made notes in this. I ended the evening with the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 25, 2026

The night before Wednesday, I got to bed a little before 2:30 am. I slept pretty well, even to the usual alarm in the morning.  {Smile}

After breakfast, I was just sitting down to my computer when my cell phone rang. It was a conference call with my financial advisor and the head of the nursing company already on the line. Somehow, we came out of it with more 24-hour care for me. I've been thinking about that all day. I wanted that while I got things set up better... now I guess I'd better use the time well. {smile}

After dinner, my main nurse took me down to the Church of the holy Cross for my ballroom dance classes. I arrived when the first one was starting. I got rest of schedule, which I hadn't written down. We don't have many classes left for this session. They were both good classes. We reviewed and practiced a variety of steps in different combinations. My main nurse took me home afterwards. I wrote a little of this daily update on the trip each way. {Smile}

After the phone conference, I watched a lot of videos and read some articles right through lunch and into the afternoon, thinking furiously if not terribly productively the whole time. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my characters who I have played recently. Next, I began to play by myself on the new version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. After a while, Bey said hi, and offered to level the character. I declined. I tried to explain that I don't like that with low-level characters because they miss content. Then I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Pierogies. He invited me to join him in the later, large-group event. I got my character who is newest to the endgame and ran it. Then I did auction house storage and crafting on her until a slightly early dinner, during which I read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

After class, I read a couple of articles as I settled in. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I tried talking with Nox on Discord, the chat server, but it didn't get far before they went to bed. Then I played on the new version of the lower-level villain supergroup member until a distant friend invited me to a taskforce. I found a character who needed it and ran it with them and one other friend. Then we then ran a second taskforce on the same characters with a few more folks joining us, probably not all friends already. This broke up afterwards, since it was late. I did some auction house, storage and crafting on that character, and checked the others I've played recently. Then I wrote a bit in this before i switched to making notes. I broke to read two comics and talk with Kitten on Discord. When I finished notes in this, I ended my evening with saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 24, 2026

The night before Wednesday, I got to bed a while before 2:30 am, which is pretty typical for me. {Smile}

Late in the morning, my substitute relief nurse took me to Kamana Senior center for my Creative Writing class. I wrote a little of my daily update on the way down. I got to class just as it started. It was a good lecture and discussion. Then we had some freewriting, which I admit I largely got distracted from. We ended with reading our writing and commenting on others' writing in small groups. I think it went well. {Smile}

Afterwards, my substitute relief nurse picked me up. I was tired but perked right up when she gave me a yogurt which turned out to be frozen, but tasty. She stopped for one errand on the way home. {Smile}

At home, I got onto my computer. I read articles and comics to relax. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, got my teen supergroup member, and went to her supergroup's base for the meeting early. I talked to Ulty, who plays the leader, and learned she wasn't coming. She just didn't feel up to it. She did teach me how to check for messages that it's off, since I seem to be one of the few who don't get those. Then I talked to Nyxy, who didn't feel up to the meeting at all. The other character who often comes anyway showed up. I shared how to find the message that these are called off, since we seem to be the two who miss them. Then we teamed up, and I invited Kitten, too, since the fellow doesn't seem to mind. We ran the next story arc, even an extra-rough mission at the end. Kitten was acting sleepy, going quiet at odd times, but they did help along the way, including with the last half of the extra-tough mission at the end. After that the fellow and I said goodnight. Next, I worked on the in-game auction house and storage until dinner, which was soon. During dinner, I read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing my daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Kitten but got no response. So, I began soloing on the new version of the lower-level villain supergroup member. I soon talked with Ulty while I continued to play. I chatted a bit with Nox on Discord, the chat server. Then I left a note for Dr. Faustus on Discord. They came in, and we teamed up. We ran missions from various story arcs she had including the last story arc and other stuff from the last contact holding her at the particular level she's been at for a while. Then we ran a contact who can go a level higher, finishing their story arc and one extra mission, getting her that level. Next, we said goodnight. I trained and fixed up my character for their new level. After that, I worked on the in-game auction house and storage. Then I began notes in this, taking breaks to play Cross Stitch World, watch a couple of videos, and check characters on City of Heroes: Homecoming. Then I said the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 23, 2026

 The night before Monday, I got to bed a bit before 2:30 am. Not great, but I've been worse. I got up at the normal time and didn't notice being all that tired during the day, though I can't help wondering if I'd feel better with more sleep. {Smile}

After breakfast, my substitute relief nurse took me down to Auntie Sally's Lua'u Hale. When I walked in, only the breakfast crowd was there. They told me that class was at the butler building.  It's a fair walk, but my nurse was gone, so I started walking. Susan, an acquaintance from church who is also in the class, soon stopped, and offered me a ride. She'd gone to Auntie Sally's Lua'u Hale first, too. I happily accepted. She drove over, dropped me off, parked, and joined the class. I enjoyed the class. For the first two dances, I got a nice breeze from the door, but after that, someone else took that space, and I got a bit hot, as usual in the butler building. That seems fair, since the butler buildings (there are a matched pair) are barely better than sheds, and not air conditioned or anything. {Smile}

After class, Susan asked if I needed a ride back to Auntie Sally's Lua'u Hale. Just the, my substitute relief nurse called. Susan stayed with me while I tried to give directions, but my Substitute relief nurse went the wrong way, but didn't get that across to me until later. I knew she hadn't found me, so I gave up, and Susan took me back to Auntie Sally's Lua'u Hale, where we found my substitute relief nurse waiting for us. I said goodbye to Susan and switched cars. Next, my substitute relief nurse and I went for popsicles at the Ice Cream Parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens. I tried sweet potato for the first time. It didn't really sound like a popsicle to me, but my substitute relief nurse loves it, so I felt I might be missing something. Sure enough, it was a bit sweeter than most non-frozen sweet potatoes. It's also nice and pulpy, kind of like the mango and the new haupia. I understand why my substitute relief nurse loves it. I also got guava for later, and for the nostalgia, since frozen guava juice was a common treat at home when I was a kid. Then we went home. {Smile}

After I got home, I had lunch at my computer while reading articles and comics, then writing my daily update. The writing continued after lunch until my update was done. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the in-game auction house on a few characters. Next, I started working on both passive and not-passive badges. I said hi to Ulty and Jenny's player. I talked with Jenny's player. After that, I tried to get the attention of Pierogies, Kitten, and Dennis, but then I ended up talking with my substitute relief nurse. Even though Kitten responded, I got back too close to dinner to get together then. During dinner, I read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started talking with Dennis and Kitten, but Dr. Faustus called me over to meet a prospective member before we got anything going. The regular who's been with the group longer than me joined us, too. We showed them around the base. Then we talked. this turned into quite a sparring match between the prospective member and the long-time regular member. Doc and I even commented on it quietly. Doc invited the new one to our group. Next, the long-time regular left, followed by the newest member. Dr. Faustus and I ran through two story arcs and got a third started on my new version of the lower-level villain supergroup member. I didn't expect to get that far. She not far from the next level now; I hope she'll be there by our next meeting. After that, we said goodnight. Then I worked on my character's in-game auction house and storage and checked the auction house for two more characters. Next, I made notes in this, pausing to read some short web comics, play Cross Stitch World, and read a web article. I ended my evening by saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 22, 2026

The night before Sunday I got to bed at a normal time for me. However, I got up at my normal Sunday time, which is a little earlier than the rest of the week. I didn't feel too tired, or seem to need a nap, though I didn't feel good after dinner.  {smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me down to church and dropped me off. Then he went to pick up some medicine and such. I enjoyed the service. I sat near the original organizer of our Daughters of the King chapter. My main nurse came back late in the service.

I ate lunch with my main nurse and several others. We actually ran out of food, which is unusual, but we did have a good crowd. Right after lunch, I talked to organist and got my initial Daughters of the King dues sorted out. That took more months than anyone expected. Afterwards, my main nurse took me home. I wrote part of Saturday's daily update on way down, and part on the way back. {Smile}

Auntie Barbara missed the service. I got a text from her later explaining her absence.  {Smile}

At home after church, I read a couple of articles. Then I finished writing Saturday's update quickly, since there was little left to write after the two rides. When that was done, I into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I checked the auction house on a few characters. Next, I began collecting badges. Soon, Pierogies said hi. We chatted, and he asked if I was in a mood to play villains. I asked about levels and got my higher-level villain supergroup member. We did one long but quite fun mission before he left. After he left, I worked on the in-game auction house. Then I read a little on Amazon. After that, I wrote and revised story until dinner, first on my own, then starting to put my teacher's edits in. During dinner, I read forward Day by Day. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished putting my teacher's edits into my story. Then my main nurse helped me clean myself up. As I settled back onto my computer, I realized that one story I'd read on Amazon might be making me less happy. I worked on cheering myself up as I began talking with Nox on Discord, the chat server. I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. Next,  Azurette said hi, and invited me to a task force. I joined it and ran it on the character Kitten designed. One of the members wanted a related taskforce. The character Kitten designed was too low-level, so I switched to my higher teen supergroup member, who had never done it. She won a badge and gained two levels by running it. After that, I worked on the in-game auction house and storage. Then I started making notes in this. When I finished, I went bac to City of Heroes: Homecoming, and worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on my teen supergroup member, followed by some storage on the character Kitten designed. I finished my evening with the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 21, 2026

The night before Saturday, I got to bed a while before 2:30. I think I mostly slept well. There was no trouble with needing naps. {Smile}

During dinner, I read Forward Day by Day. I've been thinking about getting it away from bedtime, and that seems like a good alternative. It reminds me of starting my readings to Mom with that before dinner each day. Those are good memories; I liked spending that time with her each day. {Smile}

I also have been reading a book on how to motivate oneself to write. I seem to be stalled on the story. I hope I broke through the block, though I didn't actually get back to writing, so maybe nots. At least I think I'm making headway. A worksheet project they gave helped me see that I need a better reason to write than making money with it. That would require more luck than I quite believe I'll find, which isn't good for motivation. So, I'm searching for other motivations. I hope that giving my characters more life will work better for me. {smile}

After breakfast, I got on my computer. I read a couple of articles and two short comics, and maybe watched a video, all on the web. Then I finished writing Friday's daily update, sharing it before lunch. I read articles and watched videos over the rest of lunch, and into the afternoon. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Dr. Faustus. We just talked because they were busy with a taskforce and left after it was done. Meanwhile, I started playing by myself on the low-level version of my higher-level villain supergroup member. I let her gain some levels; it didn't hurt the villain content I want for her, and I have other characters doing the hero content. When I reached the end of the story arc, I was bored and looked around for something to join. I found someone doing that pair of high-level taskforces and joined their group. They did it unusually slowly but did get the one badge my character needed, and I got the two that came with it in my case. When they finished, it was late enough, I did auction house, storage and crafting until dinner, and found the next character who'll need those task forces to collect badges. {Smile}

After dinner, I began to write in this. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. Next, I read a couple of comics. I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game again. I talked with The_Cyberchill, but they weren't in a good place to team up.  So, I started to collect badges on the character Kitten designed. Then I realized that The_Cyberchill had messaged me a while back.  I checked with them.  They'd been in a good place to team but weren't again. I collected a few more badges. Next, I got my second-best badge collector and set her to working on a passive badge as I began writing more of this. I checked my second-best badge collector a few times. When I noticed that Dr. Faustus had messaged me, they and I chatted until they were ready to team up. They let me choose what to do, so I got the low-level version of my higher-level villain supergroup member.  We ran her through a couple of short story arcs and part of another story arc, and she gained a couple more levels. After that, we said goodnight. I worked on the in-game auction house and storage on several characters. Then I wrote some more of this before I switched to making notes in it. I broke to set up and check a character in the badge-collecting pack below the ranked badge collectors after I discovered she still needed some badges that are particularly easy to work on passively.  I moved her when she got one badge, and she got a similar badge particularly quickly because she almost had it. I also wrote one more section of this before finishing the notes in it. Then I said the Lord's Prayer and Saint Francis's Prayer to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 20, 2026

The night before Friday, I got to bed a while after 2 am, but before 2:30 am. I slept reasonably well, I thought. I didn't seem to need a nap. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me to my Ballroom Dance: Samba class. In class, we were mostly practicing. I found I knew the first nine steps just from their name. the teacher reminded me of the next two, and I practiced them as well as the first nine. I hope I won't forget those two. I think there are three more to learn better. I danced alone at first, then mainly with one of the gals I often dance with. I also danced with my teacher to review those two steps. My main nurse picked me up and took me home afterwards. Both on the way down and on the way back, I wrote some of Thursday's daily update. {Smile}

When I got home, I got onto my computer, and fairly quickly finished Thursday's daily update while I started lunch. When I was done, I started browsing articles, comics and videos on the web while I finished lunch, continuing for a while afterwards. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Next, I did a story arc on my own on the new version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. After that, I worked on the beginning-of-the-weekend auction house. Then I went to my villain supergroup meeting. Dr. Faustus, our leader, and the other regular were already there, but not the two or three new ones we'd hoped for. We began talking about what to do, and I mentioned that I had some story arcs. We did the next two in the series after the one I'd done on my own. While were doing them, one of the new ones contacted our leader, but was slow to join us. He joined us literally a minute after our leader left and helped us finished the second sequel. Then Dr. Faustus left, too. I did one more story arc with the other two members, running later than I think anyone meant to. I left for dinner as soon as it was done. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I worked on the in-game auction house and storage for the new version of my lower-level villain supergroup member. While doing this, I talked with Nox on Discord, the chat server, and got some very helpful answers about something in City of Heroes: Homecoming that I was concerned about. I also talked to Kitten on Discord, getting more advice on same subject. Next, I played by myself on the character I repurposed right after making it, hoping to get a particular mission so it could go up one more level. During this, I said hi to Ulty and Jenny's Player, and talked with Jenny's player. Then I talked some more with Noxon Discord while continuing to play by myself on that character. I finally got the character I was playing through the mission I was holding her back for. Then I played enough more to gain that level I was hoping for. After that, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on various characters. Then I wrote a tiny bit of this and started making notes in it. I did make a few brief visits to City of Heroes: Homecoming so my second-best badge collector could work on a badge, and played a little Cross Stitch World, and read a couple of comics while I finished making notes in this. I finished my evening with reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer and Saint Francis's prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 19, 2026

The night before Thursday, I got to be closer to 2:30 am than 2 am, but I did get to bed before 2:30 am, so at least it's not worse. {Smile}

Starting during breakfast, I had my counselling by video. The session went well, I thought. She's helping me deal with feeling pushed by assorted circumstances and such. Goodness knows I need the help. I'm not finding it easy to refuse to please some people, even when I know I lack the resources to comply with their demands. I need her support to work my way through this. {smile}

At lunch time, I couldn't find a link to connect to my nutritionist for our appointment. I texted her about this, then waited. A while later, she called, asking if I was starting our video appointment soon. I checked email, and it had since arrived. I need to watch that more carefully. The appointment itself is going well. I seem to be on track with both meals and exercise. The trick is maintaining things. {Smile}

A short while later, I started a fairly long talk with the head of the nursing company. It's our first real talk about renegotiating our contract. That's not a comfortable conversation, but it's been needed long enough, it's a relief to get it started. {smile}

After my video counselling, I read articles and comics and watched videos until lunch. I read much of another comic between asking what was up and getting the phone call letting me know to go into my appointment with my nutritionist. Then I browsed the web some more before the talk with the head of the nursing company. After my talk with her, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I missed saying hi to Dennis. I did say hi to Kitten, but they didn't respond. So, I worked on getting badges and the character kitten designed by myself until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I checked several options for a solo version of my higher-level villain supergroup member.  Then I began writing this up. I took a break to clean up with the help of my main nurse. Next, I went back to my computer.  I checked the Discord group my Villain supergroup set up and found others discussing characters I could make that would help the group too. They really like a type that my higher-level character doesn't feel interested in, but I realized that my lower-level character was fine with that. So, I made a version of her and started the tutorial. Dr. Faustus joined me, and we finished the tutorial together.  Then we started collecting badges until Phonso invited us to a taskforce. He only found one more to do it with, so he asked if we wanted to run it with four.  We said "fine," so he put out a last call, and got one more. We ran it with five. Then the team broke up and said goodnight.  Then I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on both characters I ran after dinner. Then I did a little hunting and costume work on my newest character. Next, I finished my notes in this, with a pause to read comics. I ended my evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 18, 2026

 I got to bed somewhat before 2:30. At least it wasn't after, but I know I can do better. Still, I didn't really nap or rest much the next day, so I guess it wasn't too bad. {Smile}

I did make progress with the phone calls. First, I called my financial adviser and got one of the secretaries. She sent me a text to send a picture of a letter I need help with, and promised my financial adviser would call, but quite possibly not today. However, she did call today. We discussed what we need to do, including my next step with the letter. She also gave me a message for the head of the nursing company. {Smile}

I got a call from the head of the nursing company later. We discussed what we need to do. I also passed on the message from my financial adviser. {Smile}

I also called the state retirement system and tried to ask them to check something. They didn't do quite what I asked, and what they did do wasn't helpful. I hung up in frustration, but on reflection, I need to try again and be persistent. {smile}

After dinner, my main nurse took me down to The Church of the Holy Cross for my dance classes, Ballroom Dance: Samba, and Ballroom Dance: Shuffle. Both instructors showed up this time. They each had us run through new combinations of steps, including steps we're less familiar with. I really enjoyed it. Afterwards, my main nurse took me home. Instead of playing Cross Stitch World on the rides down and back, I wrote some of Tuesday's daily update. It felt like I was being more productive, which is good. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer, I read articles and comics and watched videos, all on the web. I called my financial adviser before lunch. I read more articles and watched more videos over lunch. Then came the other phone calls, one by one. Next, I wrote some more of Tuesday's daily update. When I got concerned that I might miss my friends, I stopped and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and got the new character who isn't an alternate version of my higher-level villain supergroup member, after all. I fixed up her costumes to be distinct from the villain supergroup member's. While I was finishing, Dennis said hi, and we started to talk. When I was done, I joined him for two or three missions, and gained a couple of levels, which was all I wanted right now. I switched to the actual higher-level villain supergroup member when Kitten joined us, and we did a mission or two. Then I said goodbye and left for an early dinner. {Smile}

After dinner and my classes, when I was back home, I got onto my computer. It suggested a virus scan, so I started it. I checked Discord first, responding to conversations there, since it doesn't interfere with the virus scan. Then I gave up and went on the web, which the virus scan closes down a couple of times for stuff it needs to do. I read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I wrote more of Tuesday's daily update, also on the web. I had to save and shut down the web to finish the virus scan, but then I opened it up again and finished writing Tuesday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Kitten. We were slow to get started but did mission together. Then I was slow to pick another mission, and Kitten was unresponsive by the time I did. So, I worked on the in-game auction house and storage, Then I wrote a little more in this before switching to making notes here to finish up more quickly. I took breaks to talk with Kitten on Discord, and check out a video they shared there, since they were doing stuff there again. I ended my evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 17, 2026

The night before Tuesday, I got to be slightly earlier again. Not a lot earlier, but I hope it's slowly adding up. I think I felt less tired today and haven't needed much of a nap. {Smile}

After breakfast, my substitute relief nurse took me to Kamana Senior Center for my creative writing class. On the way, we did some errands. When it was close to time for class, she dropped me off. Class went well. the lecture was good, and then we read something to each other, with some critique after the reading. After class, my substitute relief nurse picked me up. We did one more errand. Then she took me to the ice cream parlor at Liliu'okalani Gardens. I picked out guava, plus a mango for later. we did another errand on the way home, and she gave me a strawberry popsicle she didn't want after all. After that, we went home. {Smile}

In the middle of the afternoon, I the leader of handicapped social group called. She was checking that I was okay, because I'd missed the meeting again. I didn't realize it was the third Tuesday already; it seems early this month. However, the leader offered to try to call to remind me. she asked about a week before, but I suggested the day before, which she agreed to. I think a week before gives me too much time to forget again. {Smile}

When I got back home from my class, I got onto my computer. I read articles and comics, and watched videos, all on the web. Then I finished writing Monday's daily update. Next came the call from the handicapped social group's leader. After the phone call, I settled into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game.  I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, crafting. Then I went to my teen supergroup meeting.  I was the first one there. The same fellow as last week came soon.  We role-played until he wondered if anyone else was coming. I checked with Ulty first, since she is our leader. She really didn't feel up to it but gave us the go-ahead to do what we wanted to. Next, I talked to Jenny's player, who wasn't feeling up to role-playing, either. After that, I talked to Nyxy, who switched to her member character, and joined us. We role-played a little, then did a story arc of mine that ran well into dinner, so I began eating while we finished. Then they left. I talked briefly with Dennis, then went to finish dinner with my nurse. {Smile}

After dinner, I got back onto my computer, and back into City of Heroes: Homecoming.  I checked on my friends who play the game, then broke to read a comic on the web. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game again. I talked with Dr. Faustus while collecting badges on the new version of my higher-level villain supergroup member, or rather what I thought was the new version, because our conversation made me tray again. I made a new character and talked to Dr. Faustus again. They joined me in the tutorial, after making a character to leave in there for this sort of thing. We started collecting badges, then started a story arc. The new member of our villain supergroup soon joined us. We finished the arc and started a sequel. Phonso joined us partway through. We finished the arc, and I said goodnight. I worked on the in-game auction house and storage, then made notes in this. I took two breaks t change the character who won't be my villain supergroup member enough that I would know who she was meant to become. Next, I finished making notes in this. I ended my evening with reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 16, 2026

The night before Monday, I got to bed a little after 2:30 am. That's late for me, but not nearly as bad as the night before. I got a short nap in before dinner, which helped. {Smile}

My First Timers' Line Dance Class didn't meet because it was Presidents' Day, which is a state holiday. It seemed a bad day for all the phone calls I wanted to make, too, for the same reason. {smile}

My substitute relief nurse spent the day cooking. I think I'm glad the donuts were distinctly less sweet than most. They were sweet enough to be tasty, which is all you need. {Smile}

The part of Homecoming (the game server I play on so much) that I use went offline a while before dinner. I was with Pierogies when an announcement said it was minutes away. We were just expressing our surprise when it started to disconnect. I tried to check on it through Homecoming's place in Discord, but got confused, and thought it was back very quickly, but it wasn't. It was off for a couple of hours, maybe a little more. At that, it's quicker than the three hours they warned of. {smile}

After breakfast I went onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos, all on the net. This pretty much continued through lunch. A while after lunch, I wrote up my daily update, with breaks to check comics on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, and was happy to find Div. I said hi, and we talked until he was free to team up. Then we got together, and did a mini story arc that gave us both badges, followed by a mini story arc that I needed for a badge that Div had gotten already. I said hi to Bey during the first arc, but forgot to invite him between the arcs, and noticed he was with someone else by then. Next, Div and I said goodnight, because the second mini story arc left Div pretty tired. It was late for him anyway. I also talked with Pierogies, starting during the second arc. He was busy in a costume contest, so I updated my second-best badge collector's badge record after Div left When that contest was done, we teamed up and were talking about what to do together when the announcement that the servers were going down happened. When I was sure they weren't coming back soon, I took a short nap until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back onto my computer. The part of homecoming I use was down, so I began writing this up. I took a break to read some comics, and another to check Discord, the chat server. I was back to writing this when Homecoming announced on Discord that the servers were up. I made myself finish the part I was writing, then went onto City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked some of my characters and updated my second-best badge collector's badge record. I did a mission that got me a couple of badges. Then I started looking at badges to work on. I set her to work on a badge I can just peek in on so I could write more of this. I wrote some more of this, then noticed that Pierogies said hi in one of my peeks. We talked and teamed up. He wanted to do a mission only available this month, so I got a character who can benefit from it. While we were getting ready, Doc said hi, and joined us. The three of us ran the mission. Pierogies got badges, and I made progress. Then Pierogies left for bed. Doc and I started a mini-story-arc that got me two badges. We paused for a zombie apocalypse until we got bored before we went into the main mission. After we finished, we talked about what to do next. Doc stopped responding after a bit, so I updated my character's badge record. Then I switched to a new version of my higher-level villain supergroup member. I ran her through the tutorial I'd left her in. Doc said hi while I was in the tutorial. When I got out, it was really too late to do much, so Doc said we'd do something another day. I set up this new character for regular play with auction house and training. Next, I did some in-game auction house, storage and crafting on a few other characters. After that, I wrote more in this, switching to notes when I realized how late it was. When I finished, I read Forward Day by Day and read the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 15, 2026

The night before Sunday, I accidentally misread the clock and got to bed an hour later than I thought. I slept well but got up slightly early because I do on Sundays and had trouble moving fast. I got to church just as it was ending, since it was a nine am service, which they're trying once a month to socialize between the early service, and the late one. I sat with Auntie Barbara for the last couple of hymns. {Smile}

We sat together for lunch, during which the congregation rededicated our labyrinth after a new paint job, which it needs every few years. After that, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

At home, I took a longer than usual nap and felt much better. I woke to find my housekeeper working. She kept working most of the afternoon and the house is much better for her attentions. After I got up, I went onto my computer. I started with reading articles and watching videos, both on the web. Then I let friends on Discord know I was going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Next, I went into that game and checked for friends who play there. After that, I got a few badges on my second-best badge collector. Then I found Kitten, and we teamed up, but they went quiet before we could start a mission together. I found a couple of badges I could get by myself on that character. Next, I went to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found my character was still teamed with Kitten, though they were now team lead. I got kitten's attention. They were feeling better after sleeping. We did the mission together. Next, Doc said hi, and joined us. They started going through missions they had that get badges. I found a character who didn't have the badge yet for each, and they got the badges. All but the last were ranked badgers. The last was a hero mission that my higher-level villain supergroup member hadn't done, so I did it on her. After that, Doc showed me a few tricks to play that character better, and we talked about making a new version of my character while Cat went off to help someone else. Then I made notes in this. I took a few breaks, including one to set up that alternate version of my higher-level villain supergroup member that I've been thinking about, and one to pick up a couple of things I need on Amazon now that my checking account is in condition to handle that for a while. I finished my evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 14, 2025

Saturday was Valentine's Day, so, if you celebrate it, Happy Valentine's Day! If you don't, I hope you celebrated it, and maybe took advantage of the candy sales afterwards, as they're available. {Smile}

The night before Saturday, I got to bed a while after two am, but not as bad as sometimes. I still drowsed in the afternoon, while visiting with my cousin, her husband, and the couple who bought her father's house. I was more awake after that, though. {Smile}

Yes, I visited with my cousin on Saturday. She's on a short trip back home. She and her husband came over to pick me up right before lunch. We tried a restaurant that was new to all of us. The food seemed healthy, though my portion was a little small, though not too bad when supplemented with some of my cousin's husband's chips. My cousin and her husband had larger portions, so if I go back, I'll try the kalua pork wraps instead of the salmon open-faced sandwich. Then we went to Keaukaha, where my cousin grew up. We were early, so we drove around until we found two cars in the garage of her parent's former home. We stopped there and visited with the folks who bought the house. It was a nice visit. They were a congenial older couple, I think from Texas. On the way home, we stopped by ACE to pick up plumbing supplies. Then they took me home. My cousin got a picture of us together before she and her husband left. {Smile}

Before they came, I realized I had a puffy eye. We've been trying to treat it with hot compresses. It might be a little better. My nurse checked for medicine, but Safeway didn't have any. We'll see later, if doesn't clear up on its {smile}

Also, I realized that one sink was draining very slowly. I tried our plungers, which made it a little better. Next, I told my main nurse, and asked him to try the drain cleaner, since I didn't trust myself with it when I couldn't find the instructions. It got much worse, I'm sure through no fault of my nurses. It's just one of THOSE clogs. My nurse got supplies while I visited with my cousin. My nurse got the sink draining slowly again. I suggested leaving it alone until I can get a plumber. I don't want to risk making it worse again. Unless it really improves, I'll call the plumber on Tuesday, since I think Monday is a holiday. {smile}

Before my cousin came, I was mainly fussing with the drain, though I read an article or two and watched a couple of videos on the net. I also shared the daily update I pretty much finished the night before, just too late to share right then. After the visit, I went back onto my computer. I watched videos and read articles. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, and said hi to Kitten, Dennis, and Pierogies. I joined them for a hunt, but got called to dinner very quickly, so I didn't do much with them. {smile}

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, and talked with Dennis while He, Kitten, and Pierogies finished something I couldn't join in the middle of. When they were done, I joined them just in time to say goodnight to Pierogies and Dennis. Then I teamed up with Kitten, who helped me finish the story arc we'd started in the post-apocalyptic setting. We did its sequel, too. Then we did an almost villainous story arc involving stealing a diamond, but nothing worse. Dr. Faustus joined us part way through. We finished, and I said goodnight. I did some in-game auction house, crafting, and storage. Next, I made notes in this, a break to watch some videos because I thought it was earlier than it was. I hate mis-reading clocks. I read Forward Day by Day and said the Lord's Prayer. I got to bed shortly after three, discovering it right when I was getting to bed, so I had no way to speed up. {small smile}

Saturday, February 14, 2026

Daily Update, February 13, 2026

The night before Friday, I got to bed a little closer to 2:30 am than 2:00 am, though in between. I tried to rest on the way down to my dance class, but at the beginning, I was mostly answering questions from my main nurse with my eyes closed. I did get some rest later in the ride. I rested after class much more successfully. My nurse had one more errand, and it was a long one. I woke up on my own about the time he got back to the car and really didn't need more rest later. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my Ballroom Dance Samba class. I got there just about on time and had a great session. Our teacher covered the last few beginner's steps. I learned the ones he introduced last time, and one of the new ones. the other new ones I can do with a strong enough lead who knows the steps, but I need to work on getting them down for myself. {Smile}

My main nurse picked me up and explained that the line for my medicine had been too long, so he still needed to get it. I said might as well get it now. I rested on the way over. Then he said I could sit in the car, so I rested there, too. I was actually finishing resting when he got up, and was reasonably awake on the way home. {Smile}

Near the end of my class, I got a call. It was Katie, from Daughters of the King. She had stuff for me from the chapter. When she learned I was at class, she said to call her when I got home. I'm glad she did, because I had no idea that errand would take that long. I did text her when I was home, and she soon came over to give me my membership pin and the introductory reading material. She helped me put the pin on. {Smile}

When I got home after my dance class and the errand, I got onto my computer. I started to read articles and comics and watch videos over lunch. This paused for Katie's visit. I continued reading and such through the rest of lunch and afterwards, then wrote up the rest of Thursday's daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming just in time for Div to say hi. We talked a bit, but he was just getting ready to head out, so we didn't team up. Instead, I did the beginning of the weekend work on the in-game auction house, then went to my villain supergroup meeting. They were already role-playing, so I joined in, but I'm pretty quiet. I did mention that I'd run into a fellow with the group we recently allied with who mentioned a character who might want to join. We went to their base, then talked to that group, and they came. They introduced a character who wanted to join, though not by the name I had originally been told. Some of our members were suspicious, but we have been trying to get new members, so I tried to encourage them to give him a chance. I think that's what we're doing. This carried me right into dinner, to the point I began eating by the computer. When the meeting was done, I carried my food into the next room, to finish eating with my main nurse. {Smile}

After supper, I read a comic and started writing this. Then I moved towards City of Heroes: Homecoming, but I kept getting distracted until I noticed Kitten complaining on Discord, the chat server. I settled down, checking on my friends who play the game, and teaming up with Kitten. they helped my best badge collector get a new badge - honestly, doing more of the work for it than I did. Then I switched to the character they designed. They helped me do the next story arc in that post-apocalyptic setting. Then we started the next story arc, but the first mission failed to complete. I tried to auto complete it, but that just messed up more stuff. Dragons joined us, and we ended up doing it again. This time it completed. We did one more, then I realized it was a good time to start getting ready for bed. I did some auction house, storage and crafting, then finished writing up this. It was too late to share, so I'll have to do that the next day. I just read Forward Day by Day and said the Lord's Prayer to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 12, 2026

 The night before Thursday, I struggled a bit to get to sleep, being more than a little stressed over meetings expected the next day. However, the day didn't go how I expected it to.

At breakfast, I checked my email and didn't find the link to my counselling appointment. So, I checked my phone and found a text. My counsellor had to cancel the appointment because she needed to be away from her computer at the appointed time. She confirmed the appointment we'd made for next week, though, so there's still that. {Smile}

At lunch time, waited for a call that was to involve my financial adviser, the head of the nursing company that takes care of me. No call came, so a little after the time, I called my financial adviser, and got the answering machine, so I left a message. Then I called the head of the nursing company. I did get her, and learned she was busy helping her brother. We agreed to talk later. Then my financial adviser's secretary called. My financial adviser will talk with me next week. I guess I was supposed to confirm the appointment time mentioned, not just note it in my schedule. Well, now I know. {Smile}

During breakfast, I got onto my computer and discovered my counselling was cancelled. So, I watched videos, and read articles, all on the web. Then I wrote up Wednesday's daily update, finishing right before the call. Then I found out the call wasn't happening. I read comics over lunch. After lunch, I tweaked my story briefly, then went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and said hi to Div and Pierogies. Div responded, so we talked and teamed up with me on the higher-level teen supergroup member. We started with more missions in the story arc we started the day before. Pierogies joined us after a while. A few missions later, Div said goodnight. I discovered shortly after they left that the last mission with all three of us was the end of the story arc. Pierogies and I did a mini-story-arc of mine and one mission of theirs. Then he left too. I started collecting badges. Next, Dennis said hi, and we teamed up. We started a mission of his that I might benefit from. His friend joined us during it. The three of us did two or three more missions. Then Dennis's friend left. I had time for one more mission before dinner. After that mission, Dennis and I said goodnight. {Smile}

After dinner, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I read comics and articles, and watched videos, all on the web. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I also answered Nox on Discord, the chat server. After that, I began to hunt on a mid-level character I haven't played recently. Then I began collecting badges on the same character. Next, Pierogies said hi, but was collecting badges himself. So, I started doing some talk missions. Eventually, I joined him to check something and switched characters a couple of times. After that, I got a few more badges on the mid-level character from earlier while making notes in this. Then I tweaked my story briefly before I read Forward Day by Day and said the Lord's Prayer to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 11, 2026

 The night before Wednesday, I got to bed at the usual time, despite getting started a little late. I got to sleep not a slowly as sometimes recently, but nowhere close to fast. The next day, I wasn't tired enough for a nap. {Smile}

After dinner, my main nurse took me down to the Church of the Holy Cross for my ballroom dancing classes. We were only the second car in the parking lot near the class, but soon others came. Eventually, someone came and opened up the building. My Ballroom Dance: Rhumba class went normally, with the instructor and his assistant teaching us some new moves with variations in some cases. But when it came to Ballroom Dance: Shuffle class, the teacher wasn't there. His assistant was, but as she explained - and I confirmed from personal experience - as a follower you don't have to know the steps all that well to do your job. Follow a good lead, and keep stepping in rhythm, and it will work out reasonably well, even if you're still learning, yourself. So, she picked one of the better students, who led us through practicing the moves we've already done. He was not ready to try to teach anything new, but he was very good at reviewing what we'd been taught. After the second class, my main nurse took me home again. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer, and started reading articles and comics, and watching videos, all on the web. I continued into the afternoon, I found Chrome, Pierogies, and Div, and started talking with all three. I teamed up with Chrome on my higher-level teen supergroup member, and Pierogies soon joined us. We did a mission or two together about his disappointment with the new public base system. I got them to invite Div after a while, but they both left shortly after talking with him for a bit. Then Div and I did a badge mission, and the first few missions of a story arc. Next Div said goodnight, and I collected quite a few badges on my higher-level teen supergroup member. I also wrote up and shared Tuesday's daily update before dinner. {Smile}

After we got back from my class, I got onto my computer and started watching videos and reading articles and comics. Then I tried to go into City of Heroes: Homecoming, but found myself answering Nox on Discord, the chat server, and reading another comic or two. Next, I actually did go into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. After that, I pursued some badges on a few characters I've enjoyed playing recently. Then I began writing this while continuing to hunt for badges. Next, I read comics on the web. After that I made some more notes in this. I ended by evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 10, 2026

 The night before Tuesday, I got to bed a little after two and didn't fall asleep for a while. I must have rested enough while not sleeping, though, because I only rested a little on the way to class, and felt fine otherwise. {Smile}

Late in the morning, my substitute relief nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my creative writing class. The class was going, though a smaller group than usual. We started with telling how we'd done over the two weeks since our last class. Maybe some who were missing had trouble with the storm. The class went well. We had a nice lecture. Though I got a phone call from my financial adviser that interrupted my freewriting. I was happy though; it was good news from my financial adviser. When we shared our writing, I read the part after the part I'm trying to write, since it was more ready than the part I'm writing. Folks really liked it. {Smile}

After class, my substitute relief nurse picked me up after a short wait. My housekeeper messaged me while I was waiting. She was going to my home to work. My substitute relief nurse took me to the ice cream parlor. I picked out three popsicles: one for now, one for later, and one for my housekeeper. Then we went home while I ate the liliko'i (passionfruit) popsicle. I gave my housekeeper a choice of vanilla or mango. She insisted I choose, so she got the vanilla. {Smile}

Before class, I worked a little on my story, mainly making a few quick alterations that occurred to me in the night. After I got home and settled the popsicles, I got onto my computer. I made a quick, last-minute edit to Monday's daily update and shared it while listening to some Hawaiian music videos that I was too busy to watch. Then I wrote a little of this update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my higher teen supergroup member, and did a little auction house and storage on her. Then I went to my teen supergroup meeting. I got a brand-new badge, which was the first I knew that new badges have been added to the game. I found one member already at the meeting, and we roleplayed for a fair while. No one else came. When the other player sounded discouraged, I checked with Ulty on Discord, the chat server. She said that she and Nyxy weren't coming, and she doubted others were at this point. However, when I asked about a story arc that I was ready to do, she said to go ahead with it. So, I checked with the other player, and he was interested. So, we started it. Not long into it, Kitten mewed at me privately. I checked with the other player and invited Kitten to join us. The three of us completed the story arc, running late, but keeping at it. Then the other supergroup member left for bed, and I left for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage and crafting on my higher-level teen supergroup member. Then I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Kitten, who turned out to be hunting giant monsters with another player. I joined them, switching to my best badge collector and updating her badge record to include the recently added badges. Several of those dropped immediately for her, and a couple more were quick and easy to get. Dr. Faustus joined for the first one, but disconnected, and missed the reward. They weren't happy, since they'd messaged me on Discord about it, but I missed that, myself. Dr. Faustus joined again for the second giant monster and got it. Then they left. The rest of us got a third giant monster, joining up with another small team that was hunting it. Then we got a fourth, but it was particularly big. We had to recruit more. We got it after almost filling the team. Next, I said goodnight. I worked a bit with the storage and did a little with badges. Then I made some notes in this while working on badges and updating my badge lists for my second best and third best badge collectors. After that, I wrote a little more in this while finishing the badging and updating. Then I had a brief conversation with a member of the group of vampires that my villain supergroup recently connected with.  I made a few more notes in this, then ended my evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 9, 2026

The night before Monday, I got to bed not far past 2am. My goal is before 2am, but this is an improvement. I didn't need a nap, which is also encouraging. {Smile}

When I got up, I started looking into whether my class was cancelled. I found out that both grade schools and universities across the state were closed, as were many parks, but I couldn't find anything about Kamana Senior Center or the County of Hawai'i Elderly Activities Division. I finally thought about Auntie Sally's Lu'au Hale and realized that the parking lot it shares with the rest of the Ho'olulu Complex tends to flood in heavy rain. Even with my substitute relief nurse having a SUV, there was a real possibility that I would encounter difficulty if I went, so I stayed home. This turned out to be the right choice. in the afternoon, I discovered an email announcing that all Elderly Activities Division classes were cancelled for the day. Next time, I know to just check my email. It's a new situation, so I didn't know. {Smile}

I also called my financial adviser and left a message when I got their answering machine the first time. I called several more times, not bothering with further messages. Then I got a call from them around lunch time. This let me ask them to help me straighten out accidentally draining an account again. I know how to watch more carefully. I just have to do it consistently. {smile}

After I figured out that I wouldn't go to class, I settled onto my computer. I read articles and comics and watched videos until I finished writing up my daily update around lunch time. Then I read more comics and watched more videos, pausing to write in this at least once. Eventually I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and let a few friends on Discord know that I was doing that. I said hi to Ulty, Jenny's player, and Pierogies. Pierogies and I teamed up, and he started to help me with the story arc I started with Doc the previous night. After a mission or two, Kitten joined us. Then after a couple more, Pierogies left for bed. Kitten stayed, and we finished that story arc just as I was called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote some more of this up. Then I read a couple of comics. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, and Kitten mewed at me before I even started saying hi. We teamed up and finished the story arc in the post-apocalyptic setting that we and Pierogies had started before dinner. I also chatted with Nox on Discord, the chat server. After that story arc, Kitten and I did the next story arc in that series -- it's one of the longest series of story arcs in the game. We finished it, then stopped for evening. We chatted a little, and I did some auction house and storage, and set up the next contact's first mission. I also wrote some more of this update. Then I wrote a bit and researched more for my story before I read Forward Day by Day and said The Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 8, 2026

 The night before Sunday, I got to bed right about on time... for any other day of the week. However, Sundays run early because church starts at ten, so it's still later than I'd like to, especially on a Sunday. I wouldn't mind waking up a little earlier every day. It would be nice to be able to arrive comfortably to something that starts at ten any day of the week. {Smile}

When I got up, my main nurse asked me to check to see if church was cancelled, because there was a flood advisory on. I did, and on the second try, found that the livestream had started. That was confirmation enough. My main nurse took me down to church.

We arrived during the announcements. I sat with Auntie Barbara and enjoyed a nice service. Afterwards, there was lunch on the lanai, but I took my food into the room where the Daughters of the King were holding their monthly meeting. I attended the monthly meeting. Then Katie, who helped me through the Discernment process to become a Daughter of the King, took me and the other Anne home. I enjoyed talking with them on the ride. {Smile}

At home, I got onto my computer. I watched videos and read the occasional article and a couple of web comics until I finished writing up Saturday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my characters. Next, I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Pierogies, Ulty, and Jenny's Player. I talked briefly with Ulty and Jenny's player. I talked and got together with Pierogies. We did a couple of my missions. After that, Pierogies and I said goodnight, and Pierogies left for bed. I worked on auction house, storage, and crafting. Then I began writing up this daily update, stopping when my main nurse called me to supper. {Smile}

After supper, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I wrote more of this. Next, I answered Dennis and Nox on Discord, the chat server. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Dr Faustus, Ulty and Jenny's player. I talked briefly with Ulty and Jenny's player. I talked slightly more with Dr. Faustus, and we teamed up.  They helped me finish the story arc I had continued with Dennis the night before, which is set in the post-apocalyptic area.  Then we did the entire next story arc in an unusually long series of story arcs. Next, we started the sequel after that.  However, we only got two missions of this latest story arc done before Dr Faustus said goodnight and left. It was a little early for them, but we had been at it for a few hours.  I started to set up the next mission when the lights went out.  They flickered a few times, then settled into just being off.  I tried to continue to play with the help of my battery backup, but I discovered that I was disconnected from the internet, so I turned off my computer.  I took a break, then tried my phone.  It seemed disconnected from the internet at first but found it shortly.  I made notes in this on phone.  I'm so glad I charged it fully around dinner time, when I discovered that it was almost dead. I had plenty of charge during the power failure. I used it right through the power failure without worrying, and it's not even that far down the next day. With the notes done, I played a bit of Cross Stitch World. Then I started writing in this, converting notes into proper writing. It's slower without a full keyboard, but I managed. I wasn't quite done when the power came back. With the power back, I turned my computer back on. I browsed Facebook and found a video announcement from the governor about the storm that must have caused the power failure. He even closed the University of Hawai'i campuses, which may be a first in my lifetime. They don't normally close for bad weather. It made me wonder about my class the next day. I really must look into that before going out. Then I finished making notes in this. I finished my evening with reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 7, 2026

The night before Saturday, I actually got to be almost as early as my main nurse claims he'd like me to. Maybe the changes will work, especially since I thought of more changes to my routine that might streamline things. I can hope the changes work, but I actually feel that that might be more likely to than others I've tried recently: writing parts of my daily update earlier in the day. I'm hoping that will take less time in the long run than jotting down notes, then writing them up properly later. {Smile}

Late in the afternoon, my main nurse took me to a valentine's Party sponsored by the group that also sponsors my Wednesday night ballroom dance classes. When we got there, my main nurse helped me check in. I sat near a couple from my Friday class and talked with the gal. The guy didn't say much. They had a few dances before dinner, but dinner happened soon and mostly stopped the dancing. I danced a few numbers before dinner, and a few after. Then they had a raffle, which I missed much of because of needing the little room. Next, a couple sang a song I know well from Fiddler on the Roof. After that, we got back to dancing. I danced with several people, both men and women. Since there were more women and men, as usual, some women dance together, at least part of the time. I don't think I danced with the same person twice. I talked with folks a few times, too. I moved to sit at a different table after a few left, including the couple I sat with and my Friday teacher. I sat where my teacher had been to chat with friends at that table. I stayed through the last dance. My main nurse came in towards the end and took me home afterwards. He was greatly impressed with our stamina, since many stayed all the way from 5:30 to 9, even though it was an older crowd. {Smile}

After breakfast, I read articles, watched videos, and caught up on reading comics I realized I'd forgotten. Then I wrote up Friday's daily update, finishing just before lunch. Then I began writing this up as I began lunch. When I finished this, I shifted to chatting with Nox on Discord, the chat server, for the rest of lunch. Next, I watched videos on the web and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming to check the in-game auction house. After that, I went back to more videos. Then I wrote a little more of this and went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and spotted Pierogies and began to talk. He was waiting for the early long, large-group event. I joined it, and we ran it together. Then I sorted some of my storage while I talked with Pierogies. I'd just begun on the in-game auction house when Pierogies suggested doing a Valentine's-themed mission that is available for a little time. I found out more of my characters got it than I realized, but I finally found one who did have it. We ran one together, and I made progress on a badge that isn't done all at once. Next, Pierogies left. My main nurse reminded me to get ready for the party, so I quickly checked my friends who play the game, then broke to get ready. After that, I came back and wrote up more of this daily update. Then I did some in-game auction house, storage, and crafting on City of Heroes: Homecoming until my main nurse said it was time to go.

When I got home from the dance, I got back onto my computer. I watched videos and read articles for a while as I settled in. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my characters, and then on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Dr. Faustus, and we joined a strike force. I almost didn't get in, but Doc saved me a place. We ran it. Then Dennis joined us, and we did a mission Doc had. Next, Doc left. Dennis and I ran one more mission I had. Then I ran a few talks while Dennis collected badges, because the talks followed directly on the mission in a story arc I had. After that, we said goodnight, I worked on in-game storage, then started making notes in this. I paused to work on the in-game auction house and storage in City of Heroes: Homecoming before I finished notes in this. Then I read Forward Day by Day and said the Lord's Prayer to finish my evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 6, 2026

On Friday, I got to bed normally late and slept fairly well. I was still tired enough to drowse on the way down to my Ballroom Dance: Samba class. I also napped in the afternoon. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me to my Ballroom Dance: Samba class. I danced with the instructor's helper and two students - both gals - who I usually dance with. After class, my main nurse took me home, chatting much of the way. {Smile}

During dinner, I learned that organ meat may not agree with my stomach. I handled the beans and potatoes fine, but my stomach turned touchy as I started on a steak and Kidney pie. As far as I could tell, steak and pie crust weren't making it worse, but it was hard to pick them out. Thankfully, my main nurse gave some cheese, fruit, and crackers that agreed much more. It's weird; since I was a small girl, I could eat large quantities of milk fat in cheese and such with no ill effects, but meat fat is a different story. {rueful smile}

Before dinner, Auntie Barbara called, but I was busy in an online meeting. I called her back when it was done, a while after dinner. We had a nice talk then. {Smile}

After I got home from class, I watched videos right over lunch, until I started making notes in this. I'm hoping that making notes earlier will help me tame my sleep schedule. Then I began writing up Thursday's daily update. I paused to read three comics. After writing more of Thursday's daily update, I made more notes in this. Then I had my nap. Next, I read some comics before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and went straight to my villain supergroup meeting. I arrived slightly late. Dr. Faustus, our leader, and the other most regular player were already roleplaying. I joined in. Then, as we were choosing what content to run, two characters from the group we met with last week said hi. We gave them a tour of our base, showing most of the major rooms, roleplaying in character the whole time. I got Auntie Barbara's phone call during this and promised to call back at a better time. I showed our visitors both of my characters in the group this time. Dr. Faustus left after a while, but the rest continued the tour right into my dinnertime. I excused myself to eat dinner, which led to discoveries i already described.

After dinner, I found they'd barely moved out of earshot and were still going strong. So, I rejoined the roleplaying, which continued for a while longer before breaking up. Then I called Auntie Barbara. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game. I found Dennis, and we teamed up. I helped him with a seasonal story arc, but he was partway in already, so I didn't do it in the way that would get the badge involved, too. After we said goodnight. I did a lot of the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting, including the beginning of the week type. Then I continued my notes in this, with more auction house, storage, and crafting in breaks. After that, I read a comic on the web before I finished my notes in this. I finished my evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 5, 2026

Before Thursday, I got to bed late but slept okay once in it. I guess my recent naps added up, since I didn't feel like I needed one all Thursday. {Smile}

Right after breakfast, my video counselling appointment went well. We had a good talk, planning how to deal with things I expect to come up. Then I watched videos and read articles and comics through lunch and into the afternoon. Next, I wrote up Wednesday's daily update. After that, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I text-chatted on Discord, the chat server, before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten, and we helped a player, probably new, on a low-level toon with a tough mission. Then we talked until the new player went to bed. Next, we worked on a story arc I had on my higher-level teen supergroup member, finishing it just before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner. I read a comic or two, then went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten, and we worked on another story arc. Dennis joined us for a few missions, then left just before Pierogies joined us. We did a few more missions, then Dr. Faustus joined us for the last mission of that story arc. Next, we worked on the story arc Dr. Faustus and Kitten also helped me with last night. First, we did a series of talk-missions. Next, we did one last mission, which an acquaintance of mine joined in on. After that, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting, because stuff had filled up with so much play on one character. Then we did one last mission that Dr. Faustus chose before we said goodnight. Next, I did more of the in-game auction house, storage and crafting. After that, I made notes in this, with one break to play a little Cross Stitch World. I ended my evening by reading Forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, February 4, 2026

On Wednesday, I slept as well as recent nights, so I napped after breakfast. On my way to my nap, I remembered to check my phone to see why it had been making text message sounds rather furiously entirely too close to dawn to be normal. I wondered at the time, but I was sleepy enough, I figured if folks were merely texting about it, not calling, it could wait until I was up. It turned out that Charlotte, the family friend I visit most Sundays, died suddenly in the night. Yes, she was bedridden, but it was still a shock. We'd just been telling each other that for a bedridden lady, she was pretty full of life. I texted the news to Auntie Barbara and my main nurse before taking my nap. {smile}

Before my nap, I also got a phone call from the nursing company owner. She told me what she'd done to try to arrange a phone conference with my financial advisor, and me. Then I got an email from my financial adviser in the afternoon asking my schedule next week so we could arrange that conference with the nursing company head. I responded by sending my schedule. I told the nursing company owner about the email later, by text. {smile}

Then after dinner, my main nurse took me to the Church of the Holy Cross for my ballroom dancing classes. Except we didn't have our usual classes. Instead, it was their mid-term "free dance night," where we danced a wide variety of dances with several partners over the usual two hours. It was great fun. I got to visit with folks more and even try some dances I haven't learned yet.  Then my main nurse took me home. I played Cross Stitch World both down and back in the car. {Smile}

After my nap, I got onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos right over lunch and well into the afternoon. Then I wrote up my daily update, taking breaks to watch more videos, and also read comics. Then I had a text conversation with Kitten on Discord, the chat server, before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I took a couple of tries to settle, because watching videos can be distracting. I also found and responded to my financial adviser's email while I was settling. When I finally settled down into City of Heroes; Homecoming, I checked on my friends who play the game. I said hi to Kitten, who wanted to do that pair of high-level taskforces that is normally done together. I ran it on a character who needed a badge from one of the. I got that badge, and two badges I needed that badge for right before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went dancing. When I got back, I got onto my computer and watched a lot of videos. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play the game just in time to team up with Dennis and Kitten on my higher-level teen supergroup member for one mission before Dennis went to bed. We promised to continue soon. After Dennis left, I checked, and Dr. Faustus was on. I said hi, and invited them to join Kitten and me for the next mission in the story arc Dr, Faustus and I got back to the day before. Kitten left after a mission or two, too tired to continue. Dr. Faustus and I did a couple more missions after that. There's not much more in that story arc now.; We have a bunch of talk-missions with ambushes, and the grand finale mission. We should finish next time. Then I only have two more story arcs that need finishing. After we said goodnight, I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Next, I collected a few badges on the same character. Then I made notes in this with only one break before reading forward Day by Day and saying the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}
