Daily Update, October 23, 2025

On Thursday, I settled down at my computer to have breakfast during my video counselling session, only to discover the counselling was an hour later than I expected. I had breakfast at my computer anyway, since moving back to watch TV with my main nurse seemed more trouble than it was worth. I just read _The Unjust Steward_ by Miguel Escobar and web articles while I ate. Later, I had my video counselling. The session was good. We talked about planning for my future, especially the transition from 24-hour nursing care to enough less that I can afford it long-term. It's not easy to face how much change that needs to be next year, but it's necessary. {smile}

I tried to call my financial adviser both before and after my counselling. I didn't get them either time. I tried again after lunch, and finally got the secretary, who passed me to my adviser. She helped me with some questions I had about setting up an account for Dad. It will require more steps than she mentioned in a letter. {Smile}

I read webcomics and wrote up my daily update over and after lunch. Then, after the phone call, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game and found that Div was there. We talked a lot. Then we teamed up and did several missions of a moderately high-level character of mine. Pierogies said hi as we started what Div said was the last one for him. Pierogies joined it at the end. Div stuck around for one more mission, then left because it was pretty late for him. Pierogies stuck around for one more mission, finishing that contact. Then Pierogies left. I did a bit of storage and crafting until Dennis said hi. We teamed up and quickly fit in a couple of missions before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, my main nurse helped me clean myself up. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game, then did a little storage and crafting until Dr. Faustus said hi. We talked about who to bring. I suggested a couple of my characters, and chose a circus gal. As we were trying to roleplay meeting for the first time, Dennis said hi. all three of us teamed up, and did a mission of mine, then one of Dennis's with the same enemies. Then Dennis said goodnight, and Dr. Faustus and I did two more missions. Next, Dr. Faustus and I said goodnight. I did a bit of storage in the game, then made notes in this, breaking to write a short note to Radio. I finished the evening with the Lord's Prayer and forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 22, 2025

On Wednesday right after lunch, my relief nurse took me down to Hilo Daijingu for my Fusion Dance class. Yes, it was at a different place and time. There, I learned that similar changes later in our schedule have disappeared. After this, it should all be at Aunty Sally's Luau Hale at the usual time, which is a relief. Auntie Sally's is more pleasant because it has air conditioning. The class went well considering we had no air conditioning. At least we had dance fans, a prop we dance with. We got them out about half-way through for a couple of dances. I was one of the few to hang on to mine after those dances to use between dances to cool off. It did help. My relief nurse took me back home afterwards. {Smile}

After breakfast, I read my financial adviser's directions for starting a new account for Dad. I need to check a couple things before I start on that. After that, I read articles on the web. Then I wrote up my daily update, finishing by running into lunch. I forgot until after I was done how early I needed to finish lunch to go to my dance class, but I successfully squeezed in lunch and got to my class on time. I played Cross Stitch World on way down and back. After we got back, I read more articles on the web and began making these notes. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who also play the game as I began crafting. I found Dennis, and checked about teaming up, but he wanted to stop putting off improving his character. So, I continued crafting and finished just after Dennis did. We teamed up and trick-or-treated until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles on the web before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I started trick-or-treating as the most social activity I spotted. I continued with that until the team broke up as it got late for most members on North America. Next, I worked on crafting and storage. Then I broke to read webcomics and catch up with making notes in this. After that, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on another round of crafting. Then I did several assorted hunts on a high-midlevel character. Next, I worked on the crafting, auction house, and storage those hunts had produced. I also checked on my friends in the game, with a little hunting on a high-level character to check something. I kept making notes in this as I went along. Then I read a webcomic before I ended my evening with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 21, 2025

On Tuesday I went to bed late the night before, but then I accidentally slept in the next morning. My relief nurse got me up almost as late as I'd gone to bed, so it averaged out to not needing a nap after all. {Smile}

After breakfast, I called my financial adviser. I told her what I'd accomplished, and what I'd learned from the banks. Then we discussed plans for the future, since I do need to make changes soon. {Smile}

Before lunch, my relief nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my Creative Writing class. I got there early and ate lunch during class. I enjoyed the lecture and the in-class assignments. I did explain about being sick, and barely getting my journalling done, never mind assignments. After class, my relief nurse took me back home.  {Smile}

When I got home, I went onto my computer and into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the in-game auction house and storage and did a little crafting. Then Kitten and Div said hi. They were teaming, and I quickly joined them. Kitten got a badge that contributes to a badge that improves a character just as I joined. Then they got it for me, when it was the last that I needed for the improving badge. Then I left with my newly improved character to join the teen supergroup meeting. The meeting started with roleplaying, continuing last week's roleplay as if only a night had passed. Dennis said hi in the middle of that. I mentioned Div and Kitten teaming, and Dennis joined Kitten barely after Div left. Still in the teen supergroup meeting, we segued to one long mission, which we did leisurely to allow much roleplaying while playing. Then we roleplayed some more, finishing that scenario satisfactorily just before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I started to write up Monday's daily update. Soon, Dennis said hi, so I stopped and joined him and Kitten in City of Heroes: Homecoming. We did several missions, working on a badge both Kitten and I need to improve our characters. We did pause once to get something I needed that Kitten had recently got. Eventually Dennis went to bed. Next, Kitten and I did a mission of mine that I've been wanting to get done. Then Kitten said "tired," went quiet, and eventually disconnected. After they left, I finished Monday's daily update. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and started crafting. When Dr. Faustus said hi, I stopped crafting to join them. We did a couple of missions, starting the next story arc in the post-apocalyptic place. We are now synced up, so all characters get credit for each mission. Dr, Faustus disconnected in the middle of the second mission, so feared his characters wouldn't get credit. However, they did. We said goodnight as we did a tiny bit of crafting and storage. Then I made notes in this, with a long pause to shop on Amazon for new speakers. the current set keeps making an unpleasant buzzing noise until I turn them off. When I turn them back on, they're quiet at first, but the buzzing comes back sooner or later. To finish my evening, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 20th, 2025

Monday was my father's birthday. That finally doesn't mean a day when I can't pull myself out of missing him. I mean I didn't miss him much. I remembered him, but no overwhelming sadness... I guess I'm finally getting used to not having him around. {bite lips}

Also, it was my second night of mostly sleeping decently if you ignore getting to bed half an hour late and having to get up a couple of times. So, I needed a nap after breakfast more than my line dancing class, which I stayed home from. I'll just have to explain my absence when I'm better, which I fully anticipate will be next week. Yes, I am getting better, though I am not fully well yet. {Smile}

A while after lunch, my relief nurse took me to my podiatrist, who trimmed my toenails and inspected my feet. I think they felt his touch every time, despite feeling a pins and needles sensation. Feeling the sensations is good. My diabetes can make my feet too numb to feel. Then it's hard to notice if I get hurt, and that's how diabetic foot trouble snowballs. So, feeling every touch is a good sign. After the appointment, my relief nurse took me back home. {Smile}

On rides, during meals, and when waiting for my appointment, I read The Unjust Steward by Miguel Escobar. After my nap, I had lunch with my relief nurse, who is happy I am taking it easy and not trying to overdo it when I have an ear infection. After lunch, I went onto my computer. I read articles and comics on the web and played a little Cross Stitch World before I went to my podiatrist. After the podiatrist, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I checked the auction house and storage in the game before I settled into crafting for a while. That ended when Kitten said mew. We teamed up, with Kitten on their new character, who's just reached fifty, the highest unenhanced level. I started to work on getting them a badge to improve their stamina, first by collecting badges you visit one or more places for. I also picked up similar badges we need for a badge that improves their toughness. We got into a mission for it in a way that folks can't join after we start, so of course Dennis said hi in the middle of it. We had to finish before I could invite him to join us. Then we worked on a couple of missions that help with a couple of hunt-badges, followed by some regular hunting outside the missions until dinner, which was that close.

After dinner, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming. I didn't spot Dennis or Kitten, so I wrote up Monday's update quickly. Kitten said hi when it was almost done. I got it finished, since I was so close, then joined Kitten in the game. They had the badge we'd been working on before dinner. We did another badge that improves their toughness, first for one of Kitten's characters, then for one of mine. Next, we started working on two more similar badges, getting the easy-visit stuff for both done. All that's left is hunts for one and missions for the other. After that, Kitten went quiet. I got a couple of critters for one hunt before they timed out. Then I contacted Dr. Faustus, who meant to join me, but internet connectivity on their end prevented that. I tried another hunt I needed, but it was too hard. So, I adjusted my character's abilities, seeing a few ways to improve her. That hunt was still too hard, so I did a mission-hunt and some talks on the character, followed by minimal auction house and storage. Then I pushed to make notes on this before ending the evening with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 19, 2025

On Sunday, I got my first good night's sleep in four nights. I woke up feeling pretty drained, like I'd slept well only one night in four, which I had. Breakfast helped, and treating my blood sugar worked slightly more. I'd improved enough to realize that my first idea -- going to church and the Daughters of the King meeting, then napping afterwards -- would probably just slow down my recovery. So, I texted a group conversation our Daughters of the King chapter has going. I explained my situation and asked them to extend my apologies to our clergy. Two responded immediately, wishing me well. I have little doubt that the whole congregation won't know when I go back. Then I went to bed and took a longer than usual nap. {SMILE}

When I got up, I got onto my computer. I read articles on the web right into lunch, then switched to playing Cross Stitch World partway through. After lunch, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends who also play that game. Then I checked the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Next, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends there again. I found Dennis and said hi. We got together and did a mission of Dennis's that was so old, it was easy to rush to the end. Then Pierogies said hi and joined us. We did a mission of mine, then a mission of Dennis's that was newer and more rewarding. After that Pierogies left. Then I got called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends there, as well as the auction house. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update. Next, I checked the auction house in City of Heroes: Homecoming again. After that I read webcomics before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming yet again. I said hi to Dr. Faustus, and we got together. We did one mission that starts that post-apocalyptic series on a mid-level character of mine, then I did a few talks, but I remembered doing it on a slightly higher-level character who's now a bit further along in the series of story arcs. I switched to the character who is further along in the series. We did most of the story arc she was in the middle of'. Then we stopped to do a prequel story arc and follow-up mission. Next, we did the last mission of the story arc we'd been working on. After that, we said goodnight. I did a teensy bit of work with the in-game auction house. Then I began making notes in this. I broke to play Cross Stitch World, then updated my autopay settings for my cellphone plan.  Next, I browsed books on Amazon before I finished notes in this. I ended the evening with the Lord's Prayer and forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 18, 2025

Saturday started with another fitful night, though thanks to the painkillers, it wasn't AS fitful. I had to get up at 5am not just to use the little room, but to fix tea to take with the painkillers, but it let me sleep through the early morning. {Smile}

Before lunch, I took a nap to compensate. Then I had then lunch while reading articles and comics on the web and playing a little Cross Stitch World. I also started writing up Friday's daily update, but after lunch, I went into City of Heroes before I was done writing that. I checked on friends who play the game and found Pierogies. We talked a bit, but he was near the end of the early large-group event. He didn't think I'd get much from joining so late, so I wrote a bit more of my daily update. Then I went back to find him saying he was done and had about five minutes to talk roughly five minutes before. Fortunately, when I asked if I was too late, he was still there. We talked for a few minutes before his family called him away. I worked on the game's auction house, storage and crafting next. After that, I finished Friday's daily update. I also played some more Cross Stitch World and read several webcomics. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. to work on their auction house, storage and crafting some more. I was wondering what to move on to when Dennis said hi. We got together and did three missions. Pierogies joined us partway through. The third mission ended so close to when I get called to dinner, we just talked until I was called. Our talk included saying how much fun we all had teaming up, since we aren't often on all at the same time these days. {Smile}

After dinner, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming, starting with my friends who also play it. Dennis wasn't there, but I said hi to Jenny's Player and Nyxy. Nyxy and I talked more than usual before they said goodnight. Then I found a note from Dr. Faustus on Discord, the chat server. It warned me that a poor internet connection prevented him from coming and teaming that night. I responded to it. Then I answered Nox on the same chat server. Over time, we talked a little before they went to bed. Back in City of Heroes: Homecoming, I checked a few of my characters. I found one with hunts, a couple of which I did. Then I worked on their auction house, storage and crafting. Next, I played Cross Stitch World. After that I made notes in this with only one brief break to check City of Heroes: Homecoming because it was getting late, and I want to go to church at a good time the next morning. I ended the evening with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 17, 2025

Overnight on Friday, I slept very fitfully, if much at all. I had to lie with my right ear up and pop my ears frequently most of the night. Somehow, I did manage to nod off a few times, but I'm not sure how. I learned I can pop my ears while I'm half asleep, but I'm not sure about much more than that. {smile}

When I got up it hurt enough, I took pain killers after breakfast. My main nurse wasn't happy with it making me a little late to my Ballroom: Fox Trot class, but I kind of needed it to be able to go down the hill in the car. The hill is definitely steep enough to make equalizing the air pressure in ears a challenge if they're swollen. {smile}

The class went well. It seems we'll be learning another Latin dance for a week or two. Not much, but enough for a couple of nights coming up soon. Dad didn't know any Latin Dances, so I never learned them before this. He knew American, English, and folk dances, and he taught me some of those. {Smile}

After class, my nurse took me to First Hawaiian Bank, where I learned my financial adviser had straightened out my own checking account with a deposit that makes it useable for smaller transactions. I straightened out Mom's account, and the Yes Check, which I think is added overdraft, as my financial adviser wanted. Then my main nurse too me home. {Smile}

Back at home, I had lunch while reading articles and comics on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game too, then worked with the auction house and storage a bit. Next, I went to my villain supergroup meeting on my mid-level member, hoping to meet three new members. One did show up, so we weren't too disappointed. Three other regulars showed up too, including Dr. Faustus and the leader. We started with a nice bit of role-playing, getting to know the new fellow while he got a feel for the group. This included an initiation ceremony. Then we continued to roleplay getting to know each other better while playing through a story arc. After that, the group broke up, so I worked on auction house and storage the play had produced. Right before dinner, I found out on Discord, the chat server, that one of the two other new ones hoped to get together. Dr. Faustus was promising to meet him later, so I did, too. We're the two villain supergroup members who play late frequently, as you've probably noticed. He does because his job keeps him up late but not always occupied. I do because it's just not that late in Hawai'i, and I'm a bit of a night owl. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and Discord, checking about meeting up. Not finding them immediately, I checked my friends who ply the game. Then I checked the auction house and storage while I waited. I began writing up Thursday's daily update, too. when they were starting to get together, I joined them on my mid-level member at Dr. Faustus's suggestion. We met the new guy, roleplaying our meeting, and continued to roleplay through a story arc he had. Then we showed him the group's base. We were thinking of starting something new after that, but the new guy got pulled away. Dr. Faustus and I took a break before playing more. I checked on friends who play the game. Then I checked the auction house and storage. Next, I finished writing up Thursday's daily update. After that I read a web comic. Then I checked on friends who play the game again. I also contacted Dr. Faustus through Discord. While I waited, I checked some of my characters, as well as checking my friends who play again. Finally, I got back together with Dr. Faustus on the mid-level villain supergroup member. We finished one story arc of mine and started another in the post-apocalyptic setting. We broke up when it got late. I went over the auction house and storage, and started making notes in this, taking some breaks to read some articles on the web, and check more characters' auction house and storage. I finally finished making notes in this and ended my evening with the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 16, 2025

On Thursday, before I got up, my right ear started to ache. I found an almost comfortable position that let me rest fairly deeply but I'm not convinced I fully fell asleep. If I did, my sleep was short and possibly fitful. So, after breakfast, I called my doctor. His receptionist promised to send a prescription for an antibiotic to Safeway, my preferred pharmacy. {Smile}

Then after lunch the pharmacy called my main nurse. He went down to pick up that, and an over-the-counter medication to help the ear, too. I started taking it that afternoon. It was almost comfortable most of the time, though tender to touching too close to that ear. It might be getting better, but it's early to be sure. {Smile}

I tried calling my financial adviser again but got her answering machine. I didn't follow up as much as I wished, but I didn't get some work she said I need to do done, either. The ear kind of made me less energetic. After the calls, I read articles on the web, and web comics, too. I noticed I wasn't making the best decisions and mentioned it to my main nurse. He ordered me to take a nap, which I did before lunch. It was slightly shorter than often, but I just woke earlier. I settled back on my computer and read articles on the web through lunch. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends and tried to get Kitten's attention. Then I got the moderately high-level character I'd started doing talks on the day before. I finished the talks and got the first mission for a few new contacts. Only one had a hunt option, but before I could start, I found a conversation in Discord, the chat server, where Dennis and Kitten were looking for folks to play with and complaining that they couldn't find anyone. I had been in the game most of the afternoon, but somehow Kitten didn't find me. When I asked if I should play first or clean myself up first, Dennis favored cleaning up. So, I went to look for my main nurse. I looked, and looked, and looked. Then I went back to try to find Kitten and Dennis. I also looked some more for my main nurse. I finally found my main nurse, who was busy with something, but made time to help me clean myself up. After that, I went back to my computer and City of Heroes: Homecoming, and got together with Dennis, and Kitten, who has a new character. Kitten doesn't often make new characters, and they talked about this one a week or two ago, so it felt like an event. We did one of my missions that was long enough, it ran slightly into dinner, but I finished before leaving for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went right back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. Dennis was surprised how quickly I came back. He and Kitten were trick-or-treating, so I joined them. This went on a fair while before Dennis left for bed. Kitten and I continued. Then I mentioned I was getting bored I kept at until I got two more badges that looked like I should get them very soon but took more time than I expected to actually get. Next, the league broke up and reformed. Kitten was tired - too tired to decide what they wanted to do. I ended up suggesting they sleep. After that, I wrote up my daily update, taking breaks to read web articles. Then I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on the in-game auction house, storage, and crafting. Next, I did the first hunt on the moderately high-level character whose talks and contacts I'd worked on earlier. I talked to Dr. Faustus during it. After that, we joined up to finish the story arc in the post-apocalyptic setting that we'd started the other night. Then we started the next story arc in line. After that, we said goodnight. I worked on some auction house, storage and crafting. Then I made notes in this, with breaks for articles on the web, Cross Stitch World, and web comics. Last came the Lord's Prayer and forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 16, 2025

On Wednesday after breakfast, I looked into my accounts. I fully realized that I have plenty of checks for Dad's account, so checks aren't in crisis yet. That's such a relief!

I tried to contact my financial adviser. I got the secretary, who promised to have her call. She hasn't yet. and I only got the answering machine after that. {smile}

A while after breakfast, my relief nurse took me down to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale for my Dance Fusion class. I'm catching on faster than I expected. Maybe she's right to just make us remember our steps. She gave us a good lecture on the importance of hydrating, too. After class, my relief nurse took me back home. My relief nurse and I are happy to have the convenience of his truck, even if it does need fixing in a couple of months. {Smile}

On the way down and back, I mainly talked with my relief nurse. After we got back home from class, I had lunch. Then I got onto my computer. I read a couple of articles on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I meant to check on my friends, but almost immediately, Ulty said hi, and invited me to that Roman-themed taskforce. I ran it on my slightly higher-level teen supergroup member's older sister, though they didn't quite get to meet her because we were all out-of-character, including Ulty, Jenny's Player, and some of their friends. When the taskforce was done, I worked on auction house, storage and crafting in the game. Then I finally checked on my friends who also play the game. Next, I wrote up Tuesday's daily update. After that, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming to find I was still on a team with some of the folks I'd done that taskforce with. We had four on the team, so we did a movie-themed trial, which requires exactly four players. Dennis said hi, and we talked during the trial. Then it was close to dinner, but it looked like we had time for a mid-level taskforce known for being short, so we did it. I got Dennis to join us, and I checked on my friends who play the game while it got going. the taskforce wasn't as short as usual and ran into dinner, so I was late to that. {Smile}

After dinner I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play. Then I did some auction house, storage, and crafting before I checked on my friends again. Then I got the moderately high-level character I've been working on and finished some more hunts I found. Now she really does seem to be done with her hunts until she goes up in level again. During that, I said hi to Dr. Faustus, but he was busy in that Roman-themed taskforce I did earlier. I chatted with Nox on Discord a little, too. When I finished the hunts, I worked on auction house, storage and crafting again. Then I tried to talk with Dr. Faustus. Not getting a response, I read a few webcomics. Then I checked Discord and found the villain supergroup I belong to has a new member. Next, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and got Dr. Faustus's attention. We talked and teamed up with me on my teen supergroup member. We started a story arc I have in a post-apocalyptic setting, but we only got partway in when it got late enough for us to break up for the evening. I did some more auction house and storage, and made notes in this, with a couple of breaks for Cross Stitch World. I finished the evening with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 14, 2025

On Tuesday after breakfast, I called my financial adviser and left a message that I wanted to talk. Then I called the bank that has my Dad's trust's checking account to enquire where the checks and card I'd ordered were. She determined the order had been made a while back and promised to have someone at the branch where I made the order call me about it. I found my financial adviser had called twice during the other call. I called again, and the secretary connected us. I talked to her and asked her to add enough to my own personal accounts for them to be more useable. {Smile}

Then I got ready to go to my creative writing class, which involved ordering an Uber, since my relief nurse was going to pick up his truck while I was in class. He needs to take it to a different mechanic, who can handle fixing a repair that didn't stay fixed. It was done in a way this mechanic wasn't able to fix.

While we were waiting, Dad's bank called. They hadn't sent checks or a card because those have to have Dad's name on them, because his name is on the trust. They can't have mine on it, because I'm merely the trustee. Oddly, I later found the checks, with the trust's name, and then Dad and me as trustees. Close enough. No card, but I can get a card through another account. {Smile}

So, I went to class and tried to concentrate on the lecture and assignments. I did text the nursing company because I was concerned about whether Dad's bank was honoring the checks I'd written. They have. I did eat lunch during class. Then after class, my relief nurse got me in his truck and took me back home. It's good to have that truck back. {Smile}

I tried to call my financial adviser a few times afterwards. Then I settled in on my computer and went to the teen supergroup meeting. Several others came, then one left, being too tired. With that, we had a full team and did a mission that our leader had designed that led into a long roleplaying session that began to break up just as I finished eating dinner. We arranged to continue next week but say only a day had passed. The leader doesn't want to meet more often, nor does she want to drag things out for the characters. {Smile}

Dennis said hi and we talked a bit during the meeting. Afterwards, I got together with him and helped him prepare his character a bit better. Then we ran a mission of mine that helped a badge related to an evil, psychic circus that Dennis wants. Not that we got it, but it's a lot closer. After that, Dennis left. I sorted out storage and the auction house on the character I'd played with Dennis, and unrelated crafting on a different character that I've been letting slide this month. Then I made notes in this. I also played Cross Stitch World and caught up on reading webcomics before getting back to more notes in this. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to work on storage and crafting on the teen supergroup member I'd used earlier, and the character I used with Dennis, too. I also checked on my friends who play the game. I wish I'd been the mood to solo, or team with strangers, but not with the banks needing so much sorting. So, I made a few more notes in this. Then I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 13, 2025

Monday after breakfast, my relief nurse had me call Uber because his truck was in the shop. They didn't accept my new credit card, so I called the bank. Mom's estate's card is out of cash again. I had to put in a card for a tiny account of my own. I hope I can stop using it very quickly. I called my financial adviser, but failed to get her, since it's a federal holiday, though not a state holiday. Anyway, an Uber driver came and got us. He took us down to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale for my First Timer's Line Dance class. Yes, that was going, since the county follows the state holidays only. My relief nurse just waited and watched while I danced. Then I called Uber, and a different driver took us home afterwards.

Right after breakfast, I lay down for a few minutes. It was too short for a nap, but I think it helped me be less tired for class. When I got back, I hydrated and ate lunch. Then I had a proper nap. Next, I got onto my computer late. I checked Amazon and found that several orders need a working card. I'll sort that out when I get something working better. Then I read some articles on the web while I woke up fully. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends who play the game. Then I wrote some of Sunday's daily update while checking auction house and storage on some of my characters. Next, I remembered to check what was going on, and joined later long, large-group event. In the middle of that event, Dennis said hi, and we talked. When the event was done, I got a healer and joined him in some missions they were running to get a particular critter for a badge that contributes to a badge that improves a character who has it. Dennis got his just before I was called to dinner in the third run-through. I congratulated him and apologized for needing to leave for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing up Sunday's daily update and played a little Cross Stitch World. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. First, I checked on friends who play the game. Then I started a hunt on the moderately high-level character I've been doing those with recently. After a while, I realized her storage was completely full, so I stopped to clear it out, and make room to get more. Then I finished the hunt. That character might be done with hunts for now; at least that contact is. Next, I checked her storage again. After that, I played a fair bit of Cross Stitch World. Then I began notes in this. Next, I chose another character of a similar level and started to do some talks she had. I switched to badge hunting, with another talk mixed in. Then I made more notes in this, reading an article in a break. When the notes were mostly done, I played Cross Stitch World with a break to read webcomics before saying the Lord's Prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 12, 2025

On Sunday, I got up at the "normal" time for most days because I got to bed so late the previous night. After breakfast, my main nurse took me down to church. We got there during the first song after the processional, well before the lessons and sermon. It was a nice service. I sat in my father's parents' pew. My nurse sat about where we do when I sit with Auntie Barbara. {Smile}

Afterwards, for lunch, I sat with some women, including two members of the Daughters of the King, who were next to the family with kids. I enjoyed talking with them during lunch. We had a fair spread, though half was desserts. I tried to cut most desserts in half. I need to do even better in the future. {Smile}

After lunch, my main nurse dropped me off to visit Charlotte. We had a nice visit. My main nurse joined us after a while, and we watched a bit of a service at the Vatican before we left. Charlotte really loves to watch services at the Vatican. {Smile}

On rides, I mainly thought about stuff and talked with my main nurse. After I got home, I got onto my computer. I read articles on the web and played Cross Stitch World as I hydrated. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on friends who play the game. I didn't find Div, but I did find Pierogies. We talked for a while, then teamed up to do two high-level individual missions. We came out of a second right into a zombie apocalypse. So, we fought the zombie apocalypse. Pierogies got called away before the end. He came back to say goodnight, then left. Next, I sorted out the auction house, storage, and crafting that playing had produced. After that, I caught the later short, large-group event followed by the later long, large-group event. I joined them both on the same character. During the latter one, Dennis said hi. He was doing those Halloween missions with Kitten. I joined them for three of them before I got called to dinner. We squeezed in one more quickly before I left, because I could really finish that character with just one more mission. {Smile}

After dinner, I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I began writing Saturday's daily update. Next, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming, starting with my friends who play the game. I chatted with Jenny's player while I finished writing up Friday's daily update. After that, I got that moderately high-level character. I did some hunts, followed by the crafting and storage the hunts had produced. Then I made notes in this, breaking to play Cross Stitch World and watch some videos on the web. When I finished making notes in this, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 12, 2025

On Saturday, a while after lunch, my main nurse took me down to Liliu'okalani Gardens. We first walked to the ice cream parlor, which was still open, as the nurse promised. The only chocolate left was the one with coffee in it, which is my least favorite of the three. Besides, I've been trying to avoid sugar, and I suspect the chocolate has a little more than most. So, I picked the haupia, which tries to capture the taste of a traditional Hawaiian coconut milk pudding. Then we meandered back to the car, getting around 35 minutes of walking in. Next, we went to Safeway, where my nurse picked up several prescriptions that were waiting for me before he took me home. {Smile}

After breakfast, I took a nap. When I got up again, I read article on the web and played Cross Stitch Word, continuing well into lunch before writing a little of my daily update. Then I went into city of Heroes: Homecoming, hoping to find Div. I didn't find Div. Pierogies looked like he was there, but he was unresponsive. Kitten was there, and did respond, but sounded so tired, we just talked until they went quiet. So, I checked the in-game auction house and did some crafting in the game as well until I got ready to go out. After we got back, I felt drained enough, I read articles on the net and snacked until I felt better. Only then did I go back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends who play the game, said hi to Kitten, who didn't respond. Then I got that moderately high-level character I've been playing and worked through a few hunts until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I answered Nox on Discord before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends who play the game and said hi to Kitten, who responded. So, we talked and teamed up to do some missions together. After three or so, they admitted they were tired but didn't seem to want to leave. Then Dr. Faustus said hi. I asked Kitten about getting together with them. Kitten said they'd try but warned both of us that they were tired. We did two or three missions together, starting a story arc of mine. Then Kitten didn't leave a mission, even when I tried to get their attention. I regretfully kicked them off the team, and did several more missions with Dr. Faustus, finishing that story arc. Then Dr. Faustus left. I worked on the auction house, storage, and crafting that had piled up from playing. Then I started notes in this. I broke to read a couple of web comics and play more Cross Stitch World than I really meant to do. I finished notes in this distinctly later than I like to do the night before church.  I still finished my evening with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 10, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my Ballroom Dance: Foxtrot class. It went pretty well. I had two gals and a guy wanting to partner with me. That included the teacher's assistant, but that's still two other students wanting to partner me. My class discovered near the end that the easy-to-read clock had stopped. There was another clock, but it was harder to read, so we let out a few minutes early. My main nurse picked me up and took me home, expressing surprise that I was waiting for him. {Smile}

During class, the teacher showed the move that inspired Dad to give me a crash course in how to follow. He then repeated it every two to three nights for two weeks until he was satisfied that I'd learned to follow him right. This was in the middle of high school, with all the homework that makes. It was one of the few things allowed to add to my workload. Partner dancing was pretty important to him. {Smile}

When we got home. I had lunch while reading articles on the web. Then my main nurse helped me clean myself up. After that I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Almost immediately Div said hi! I haven't talked to him in a couple of months, and it's been more months since we talked more than once or twice before another long pause. It was wonderful catching up with him. We talked right up to my villain supergroup meeting. About when that began, Div left, but we hope to meet the next day. At the meeting, five members came. including Dr. Faustus, the leader, and me. One member brought his young daughter. We ran a player-made story arc that was Halloween themed, and available to even low-level characters, since the daughter's character was particularly low-level. The girl kept up nicely, and enjoyed the story, which her father read to her. being on a different computer in the same room. She was excited to be allowed to talk to us, since she usually isn't allowed to talk to people online. We told him to bring her back at the end. We stopped earlier than sometimes, because the story arc ended, and Dr. Faustus and the leader had stuff to do. So, I worked on the auction house, crafting and storage. Then I hunted on a moderately high-level character. I was called to dinner just as the hunt ended. Dennis said hi right as I was leaving. I was sorry we couldn't team then, but I promised to come right back after dinner.

I came back after dinner to find him teaming with Kitten. They were doing special Halloween-themed missions, so I switched to the character who is working on them. We played until Dennis had enough. Then he went to bed, very worn out from a busy day and week. After he left, Kitten and I went to join the trick-or-treat league, which was going strong. That event my third-best badge collector didn't have the badges from happened while we were trick-or-treating, right in the same zone. I got the character I've been trying to get it on, and some of the folks did it, while others kept trick-or-treating. My character all the badges, plus an extra badge. I updated my record of her badges and got kicked from the trick-or-treat league for being absent too long. I was tired of trick-or-treating anyway, so I wrote up my daily update and shared it. Then I went back to the game, switching to a different, slightly higher-level character than before dinner. I teamed up with Kitten, slipping in a hunt while I waited for them to leaving the trick-or-treat league. We started a story arc I was surprised she hadn't done, but she'd been nominally villain-side until recently, and it's a hero-side story arc. We only got two missions in before Kitten was too tired to continue. After that, I did auction house, storage and crafting on folks used today, and those with crafting projects. I also made notes in this, taking breaks to read webcomics and play Cross Stitch World. When I finished notes in this, I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 9, 2025

On Thursday before breakfast I started to sign in for my online counselling. However, I was early. I'd forgotten I'd made it after lunch this week in case I got into the Improver's Line Dance class right after breakfast. So, I actually had my online counselling after lunch. We talked a lot. I think it was a good session. I hope she's helping me begin to make better plans for my future. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got onto my computer and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked the auction house for that mid-level character on the most popular shard. Then I took a nap. Next, I got onto my computer and browsed web articles and web comics while I ate lunch. After that, I had my counselling session. After counselling, I wrote up my daily update, reading web articles in the breaks. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the auction house for the mid-level character on the most popular shard, and got the final thing I bid on, so I don't have to keep checking on her so much. Then I went back to my usual shard. I checked on my friends who also play the game. Then I noticed advertisements for the later long, large-group event, so I went to it on my sixth best badge collector. When I'd been running it for a fair while, Dennis came on and said hi. We talked, and he joined the event near the end. He got a badge he really wanted for his favorite character right at the very end. Then we teamed up, doing a regular mission of his to make space for a special Halloween mission he wanted. Then we did that special mission again, because I had one too. Next, we barely did a door of Trick or Treat before my dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I worked on some real-life paperwork that had come up - bills and such. Then I made notes in this, checking articles on the web and doing a little shopping on Amazon that my main nurse requested. Then I answered Nox on Discord, the chat server. I also played a little Cross Stitch World before I went onto City of Heroes: Homecoming. There, I checked my friends who play the game before I started trick-or-treating on my third-best badge collector. That was interrupted by another server crash. This one was slightly longer than the night before, so I began talking to Kitten before it came back. Then I went back to where I'd been trick-or-treating. I found Michiel waiting there too. We talked for a bit. Then I ended up starting a trick-or-treat team that I eventually handed it off to another to lead. I also talked with Nox on Discord a bit in brief breaks from trick-or-treat. Someone on the trick-or-treat team found a couple of giant monsters, which were a wonderful break, since I was getting bored. Then a fellow wanted to do a special Halloween mission, but he hadn't actually gotten one. I'd left he group to team up with him for a break, and I did have the mission, so we did mine. Afterwards, we talked and established long-term communications before he left for bed. Next, I did auction house and storage for the character I was on, and auction house for both of my teen supergroup members. I also answered Pierogies on Discord and started searching BAEN Books free library for an author I want to try. I found a story by a couple of authors I really enjoy instead and read it. After that, I answered Pierogies on Discord again. I finished my notes in this, then wrote more to friends on Discord before ending with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 8, 2025

On Wednesday. before breakfast, I straightened out a misunderstanding with the leader of the teen supergroup I'm in. I've been approaching sharing my content in a way she finds frustrating, which in turn frustrates me. I will have to find a better way to deal with this. {smile}

Then a while after breakfast, my relief nurse took me to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale for my dance fusion class. I was early, which let me get paying and paperwork done before class began. It's line dancing with different dances than Monday, but not hard ones. I had less trouble than I thought; I'm beginning to learn to remember the dances. My relief nurse took me home afterwards. {Smile}

In the late afternoon, I cleaned myself up by myself. It's the first time I did that solo since Mom died, but the gals who helped me the past three weeks weren't available. I'm just not comfortable doing that with my relief nurse's help when we're both single and of similar age. {smile}

I had breakfast with my relief nurse while trying to read The Unjust Steward by Miguel Escobar and not getting far. After class, I had lunch with him and was much more successful at concentrating on the same book. Then I went onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos on the web. Eventually, I wrote up Tuesday's daily update before cleaning myself up. Right after that was dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I began notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the auction house on the mid-level character on the most popular shard. Then I went to my usual shard and checked my teen supergroup member and my third-best badge collector. I checked my friends who play the game, too., and talked with Jenny's Player, Ulty, and Nyxy. Next, I went to join the Trick-or-Treat league that seems to be going when the server is working right this month, but it crashed badly not long after I'd settled in. Somehow, all regular shards seemed to be running when I checked just after the crash finished. Just the two test shards were down. So, I went back and was one of the first few to help restart the Trick-or-treat league. I did that for a while, and discovered Dragons was Trick-or-treating too. We chatted for a bit. Then Dragons, who must have left, invited me to a fairly high-level taskforce set in ancient Rome. I joined and ran it, then worked on auction house and storage on my third best badge collector. Next, I checked the auction house on that mid-level character on the most popular shard. After that, I went back to my regular shard to fool around with the slightly higher-level teen supergroup member while I thought about how to handle things better for her. Next, I made more notes in this, with breaks for Amazon shopping and web comics. After that, I finished notes in this. Then I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. I finally squeezed in a little Amazon shopping while shutting down. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 7, 2025

On Tuesday, a while after breakfast, my relief nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my Creative Writing class. It went well. We met this session's student, finishing the introductions we didn't finish last week. I was one of the ones who introduced myself, since they hadn't gotten to me last week. Class was interrupted by a spam phone call. I had lunch during the class. My relief nurse took me home afterwards. {Smile}

At home I hopped on the computer and read a couple of articles on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the auction house on the mid-level character on the most popular shard first. Then checked auction house and storage on my slightly higher-level character in the teen supergroup. I tried to find something to do but didn't before it was time to go to the meeting... except I was the only member in the whole group online. Everyone else was at least a little late, when I was a bit early. We had a new person, with a bee-themed character. I think they agreed to join at the end. We started out roleplaying continuing until everyone arrived and settled in. We had more than a full team, but two bowed out, saying they were tired. That left a full team, so we did a taskforce that gives a special, bigger reward this week. It was long, and one who did start with us complained they were tired well before the end. Still, they stuck it out, as did everyone else. They and one other left for bed as soon as we finished. I arranged my character for a nap in the supergroup base, then went to eat dinner with my relief nurse. {Smile}

After dinner, I went right back City of Heroes: Homecoming. Four were still roleplaying, so I joined them. I made a point to try to catch up and keep up, and I think I did better than sometimes. Eventually they broke up. I started to sort through my stuff, but I couldn't do much in the base, so I stepped outside. I was greeted with the sound of a zombie invasion starting. The Halloween Event is the season for those. They're far more common then than the rest of the year. I found a group to join that invited me to join their team, which soon turned into a small league. I soon got the one zombie badge that character didn't have yet. After the invasion, our leader looked for a regular event in the same zone. He did find it, so I switched to my best badge collector. I didn't get back in time to stop it for the badge, but we fought the giant monster it can produce. Then I left to write up Monday's daily update. I kept getting distracted by videos, articles, and comics on the web, but I finally finished. I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to work on auction house, crafting, and storage on the teen supergroup member I'd used earlier. Then I checked on my friends who play the game. I found Kitten was on. It was too late to play together, but we talked a while. Then Pierogies came on, and we talked, too. I made notes on this but kept going back to Homecoming to talk with Kitten and Pierogies. I also watched a video Kitten shared and briefly checked Cross Stitch World. Eventually finished notes in this. Then I read Forward Day by Day and said the Lord's Prayer. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 6, 2025

On Monday, a while after breakfast, my relief nurse took me down to Aunty Sally's Luau Hale for my First Timer's Line Dancing class. I arrived slightly late but joined the dancers when I was ready. I pretty much kept up. Only one break cut into the dancing, but I was thirsty and needed more of the water I'd brought. When I was done, I joined them again. Afterwards, I went out pretty quickly, and my relief nurse took me straight home. There he met up with my housekeeper because he hired her to clean up for a guest who's coming. {Smile}

That afternoon, I got a call from Auntie Barbara. We didn't talk long, since it was close to bed for her already, being in the Eastern time zone, while I'm in Hawai'i. Still, it was so nice hearing from her! I've missed her, though I'm happy she's enjoying her trip to see friends and family. {Smile}

I played Cross Stitch World in the car some of the way over to my class and back. After we got home, I had lunch. I'm still reading The Unjust Steward during many meals, including that one. It's thought provoking. Anyway, after lunch I got onto my computer. I read articles and watched videos on the web. I also played Cross Stitch World. I tried to write up my daily update, but I kept getting distracted by articles, videos and comics on the web, as well as Cross Stitch World. Also, my mind kept wandering more than usual. I finally got into City of heroes: Homecoming late. I checked the mid-level character on the most popular shard and collected stuff that she'd bought through the auction house. I decided against adjusting bids and switched to my usual shard on my third best badge collector. I trick-or-treated on her until dinner, though I didn't get those event badges I want. In Trick-or-Treating, a very popular activity that will last a little into November, you click on doors. If you get a costume, or aa small, desirable trinket, you got a treat. If Halloween-themed monsters pop out, that's a trick. Since most of the game is fighting a variety of enemies, the tricks are at least as popular as the treats. {Smile]

After dinner, I did a little with articles and videos on the web before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I decided I was tired of Trick or Treating when I'm not getting the usual badges from it, so I got the character I most often team with Dr. Faustus on. I did one hunt and was finishing a second hunt when Dr. Faustus said hi. I finished the second hunt while we got together. Dr. Faustus picked some story arcs I rarely get around to. We did one and were doing the first mission of a second when Kitten said "Mew." We quit and restarted so we could add her, because these characters could only get these story arcs in a way that doesn't let you add after you start. We did that arc, too, then said goodnight. I started notes in this, then took a break to play Cross Stitch World. Next, I got distracted reading about the server outage from the past weekend. Eventually, I made more notes in this, breaking to work on the auction house and storage in City of Heroes: Homecoming, both for the character I played most that night and the mid-level on the most popular shard. Then I finished notes in this. I got sidetracked some more before I said the Lord's Prayer and read Forward Day by Day. I snuck in minimal storage on my third-best badge collector in City of Heroes: Homecoming right before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update. October 5, 2025

On Sunday after breakfast, my main nurse took me down to church. We arrived during the announcements an sat in Dad's parents' pew. It was a nice service. Our former assistant priest officiated as supply priest. Afterwards, we ate on the lanai and actually ran low on both main courses and dessert. {Smile}

Afterwards, my main nurse took me to Charlotte's, where I visited after a short wait. After a while, my main nurse came and visited too. We watched a service on TV with her for a while. Then we left when home communion came After that, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

Oh! A friend on Facebook asked why I don't use artificial sweeteners. Well, saccharine tastes bitter, not sweet, aspartame gives me quite nasty migraines, and sucralose drives my blood sugar up worse than sugar does. I'm okay with sorbitol in toothpaste, but I haven't found it anywhere else. I haven't tried stevia, but with all my other problems, I'm not too hopeful.

On ride to church, the wait at Charlotte's, and the ride home, I played Cross Stitch World. When I got home, I read articles and watched videos on the web and played a little more Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update before I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the auction house on the mid-level character on the most popular shard, collecting things that dropped int eh auction overnight, and upgrading bids that were still waiting. After that, I checked on my friends who play. I shifted to my usual server, and got my third best badge collector, managing to just miss the Halloween badge event she still needs. So, I trick0or-treated until Dennis said hi. Dennis and I teamed up, doing a few missions before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read articles and watched videos on the web before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Then I started to go into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my friends who play the game but went back out to read web comics. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and found I'd just missed another of those badge events my third best badge collector needs. I started trick-or-treating, in hopes one would happen, and the group would do it. Then Dr. Faustus said hi, and we teamed up after I got a giant monster with the trick-or-treaters. Dr. Faustus and I did several missions. Then we tried to do another of those badge events, but the folks who might help had just done one. Dr. Faustus tried to tell me, but I missed him saying that. I'm not too good at reading chat while playing. I really need to work harder at that. Anyway, we went back to doing missions, but we only did a couple more before he left. After that, I worked on the auction house and storage on the two characters I'd used much that day. Then I made notes in this, with breaks to read articles on the web and play Cross Stitch World. After more notes, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to check on friends who play. I also checked the auction house on the mid-level character on the most popular server. I finished the evening with The Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 4, 2025

On Saturday after breakfast, I looked up high blood sugar and its treatment, because I'm suspicious that some of my recent tiredness is linked to that. It said the main treatment was to take your diabetes medication and drink more fluids, especially water, because dehydration makes it worse. I'm not supposed to increase my insulin or my Ozempic, and I have been taking them, so I tried to drink more tea and water and stay away from sugary stuff including the sore throat drops, though not entirely with them. I completely stayed away from a vanilla tea that I recently realized has dried honey in it. Too bad; it tastes pretty good. I hope my blood sugar is calming down now. {Smile}

Then a while after lunch my main nurse took me down to the ice cream parlor for a popsicle. They had chocolate fudge, but I remembered my current blood sugar and picked guava cream instead. I hope I'll be able to ease up after a while, but it is a nice flavor, too. I ate it as my main nurse took me to Prince Kuhio Plaza. There, we walked all the way around it, including through two non-anchor stores as well as both Macys, for somewhere around 40 minutes. Enjoy Comics is still cleaning up, though it's definitely emptier. My main nurse wondered if they only work on weekends or something. After the walk, my main nurse took me back home. {Smile}

Around researching high blood sugar, I caught up on some web comics. I also read some articles and watched some videos on the web and played Cross Stitch World. Then I began writing up Friday's daily update. I switched back to Cross Stitch World and articles and videos on the web during lunch. Then I finished Friday's daily update. Next, I checked on a busy conversation between Kitten and Dennis on Discord. It seemed our favorite "shard," the part of Homecoming where we all play City of Heroes: Homecoming, had been down, along with the smallest of the shards. However, an announcement from Homecoming made it look like they had been fixed shortly before we left for our outing. When I got back, I went to City of Heroes: Homecoming pretty quickly. No, our shard and the smallest shard hadn't been fixed, though other four were all up. I looked for my one mid-level character among the characters I'd barely begun on other shards. I found the mid-level character on the most popular shard. Then Dennis said hi. He was on a much less used shard. We debated him joining me or me joining him. I wanted to move the character, but he insisted I make a new character. I did and ran the tutorial as he said. I was just starting to hunt for a badge easiest to get inside the tutorial when I got called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to that new character on the less used shard. I didn't find Dennis, so I left a note for him on Discord. I went back to the character and began to hunt for that badge again. Then Pierogies said hi. We chatted, and I was so happy to learn he's having a good day! I haven't seen him much recently, and think many days are less than good. He wanted to get together on the most popular shard where that mid-level character is. I happily switched, and we teamed up. He was only a bit higher than me. He invited me to his supergroup, and we ran a mission or two. Then we started to work on a badge that we were both missing that improves stats. That's when Dennis said hi. He joined us, and we all worked on that badge until the shard we all usually use came back up. I asked about switching, but both Pierogies and Dennis left for bed instead, since it was late in their time zone (or zones; I'm not quite sure if they're int eh same or neighboring time zones). Just after they left, Dr. Faustus said hi from our usual shard. So, I joined him on the character I've been teaming with him so much on. We did team up and finished the story arc we were working on. Then we started another story arc, stopping when Dr. Faustus had to leave. Next, I did a little storage. After that, I began notes in this with a break for Cross Stitch World, and a couple of breaks for auction house and storage on that mid-level character on the most popular shard and crafting on a couple of characters on my usual shard. Then I finished up notes in this and ended with the Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 3, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my first Ballroom Dance: Foxtrot class. I paid for it, so I'm fully in now. I certainly enjoyed the class. We covered mainly beginning steps I think I caught on faster than with the cha-cha, but I learned this one not just from my P.E. teacher, who didn't know how to teach dance, but from Dad, who did teach dance. When class was done, my main nurse came and took me home again. {Smile}

I half-slept on the way down and back, because I was tired. It helped, but I was still tired. When I got home, I got onto my computer and read articles and watched videos right over lunch. Then I took a nap. I felt better when I got up, but still somewhat tired. Treating my blood sugar seemed to help. While I was treating my blood sugar, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I went to the villain supergroup meeting on my mid-level member. Dr. Faustus and another were already there. The leader and one more came. WE visited in-character and out, then got ready to trick-or-treat. I switched to my moderately high-level member for that. We did it for a couple of hours, right through a zombie apocalypse. I got a bunch of badges, including most of the trick-or-treat badges. The meeting broke up a while before dinner because the leader was tired, and others had things to do. I sorted out storage, auction house, and crafting for a while. Then I squeezed in cleaning myself up with the help of my main nurse before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I wrote up Thursday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started by working on the auction house, storage and crafting some more. Next, I started trick-or-treating on my third-best badge collector. I hadn't been doing that long when Dr. Faustus said hi. I left trick-or-treating to join him. We finished the story arc we started last night, then started another story arc before saying goodnight. I did a little auction house and storage, then made notes in this with a longer break than I meant to looking at dance shoes on Amazon. After that I finished notes in this and ended with The Lord's Prayer and Forward Day by Day. Yes, I'm using the Lord's Prayer, though I recently altered one line, inspired by The Unjust Steward by Miguel Escobar. He encouraged alternatives to the phrase "our daily bread." He chose a description of lots and lots of bread after reflecting on the Bible and the lives of the people who wrote it. But he mentioned the caloric requirements of different people, and that inspired me to choose the phrase "fully enough bread" instead. It seemed a good way to factor in that some people need more than others, due to their general activity levels, and any recent problems getting enough in the first place. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 2, 2025

Thursday after breakfast, I discussed things with my main nurse and decided the Improvers Line Dancing class was a bit ambitious the day after Dance Fusion and day before Ballroom Dance: Foxtrot, especially when I looked and felt like I needed a nap. Yes, I need exercise, but I also need to rest up at times. So, instead of checking out the class, I napped. {Smile}

After my nap, I got onto my computer, where I read articles and watched videos on the web. Then I wrote up Wednesday's daily update, with long breaks to catch up in reading webcomics. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I checked on the friends who play the game too. Then I checked on Halloween badges with my high-level characters/ After a while, Chrome said hi, and we teamed up. We did some trick-or-treating together until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I read articles on the web and webcomics too. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends who play it. I talked with Ulty, Jenny's Player, Nyxy, and somebody's team leader, the last by accident. Then I picked my third best badge collector, who's missing some Halloween badges, not directly related to trick-or-treat, but sometimes easier to get when doing that, and joined a trick-or-treat league. I got some trick-or-treating done, as well as some giant monster hunting, but not the missing badges before Dr. Faustus said hi. I left the league to join him on the mid-level characters we've been doing so much with. We did the next story arc, and got another one well started. Then we said goodnight, chatting a bit. After that, I made notes in this. Next, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming, for a quick check on storage of the two characters I'd used. I ended the evening with a prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 1, 2025

On Wednesday, a while after breakfast, my relief nurse took me down to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale to check out the Dance Fusion class. That turned out to be line dancing, and tricky because only the teacher knew the steps. When we faced the front, following the teacher was easy. When we faced left or right, it wasn't too bad, but when we faced the back, no one in view knew the dance. I suggested taking out the turns afterwards, at least until folks got the hang of it, but the teacher wants folks to remember the steps, and fears that won't let them learn. She's the teacher, so it's her choice, and at least now she has the idea if we look too lost. {smile}

I asked my relief nurse to stop by Kamana Senior Center afterwards. He confirmed it was open before I went in and signed up. They gave me a form to fill out and gave me a copy to take with me. I'm to hand it over when I pay at the class. After that, my relief nurse took me home. {Smile}

On ride, I talked about a book I'm reading, _The Unjust Steward_ by Miguel Escobar. After I got home, I ate lunch Then I made notes in this, reading articles and watching videos on the web in a break. Next, I took a nap. After that, I read more articles and watched more videos on the web while I woke up fully. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked friends who play the game. Then I checked and updated my list of my second-best badge collector's badges. Kitten said hi while I was doing that. When I was done, I switched to the character they designed, and we teamed up. I picked a mission While we were doing it, Dennis said hi, and that he was going for a walk. Kitten and I finished that mission and started another. During the second mission, my relief nurse said dinner was ready early. I did finish that mission before I went to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner the head of the nursing company helped me clean myself up. Then I hopped online to learn that Dennis had gotten back one minute after I left for dinner. I dashed into City of Heroes: Homecoming and Found Dennis leading a giant monster group with Kitten in it too. I joined them, and we got a couple of Giant Monsters. Then we went to a zone where special Halloween giant monster kept spawning one after another. A second Halloween Giant Monster showed up a couple of times, too. The Halloween giant monsters kept giving the rewards, unlike normal giant monsters, who give special rewards the first time in about a day. I tried to squeeze in some writing of Tuesday's daily update in lulls. The team got smaller over time. Eventually Dennis left, and a couple of others with him. Three of us were left, and got one more Halloween giant monster, though Kitten was tired. Then the other guy left, and Kitten went quiet about the time Dr. Faustus invited me to that pair of high-level taskforces. The group filled fully for the first taskforce. We lost one before starting the second but didn't recruit more. Both taskforces went well, and I got a couple of badges. The one I'm particularly hoping for from those taskforces eluded me again. Next, I finished writing up and sharing Tuesday's daily update. After that I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and teamed up with Dr. Faustus. We finished the story arc we started the night before. Then I worked on auction house and storage in the game and finished my notes in this. After that, I worked on more auction house and storage in City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked into badges my second best and third best badge collectors need. I ended the evening with a prayer and reading Forward Day by Day. {Smile}

Daily Update, September 30, 2025

On Tuesday, a while after breakfast, my relief nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center, where I had my first creative writing class of the fall session. I was surprised how many new students were there. The teacher seemed to recognize some as returning after an absence, so I guess it's not as surprising. I enjoyed the lecture and the writing practice. I decided today that I want to do more than these daily updates regularly. In class, I enjoyed talking with my partner at the end, though we agreed we had to do more of the assignment next time. We got sidetracked with the first couple of sections. {Smile}

Before and after class I made some phone calls, making sure I had enough in Dad's bank account before making out the check for the nursing company for the month. I paid them not long after we got home. I also pursued a prescription which cardiology will handle for the moment, but my regular physician really needs to take over. {Smile}

I talked with my relief nurse a bit while getting ready for my day. Then during class I had lunch. After we got back, I found the housekeeper busy at work, so we talked for a while. Then I worked on the nursing company's check, first making sure I had enough cash, then making it out and giving it to the secretary. I got done just in time to dash to the teen supergroup meeting. I think I was slightly late, but I was one of the first there. However, one member was on a cobbled together computer that didn't let them play the game, though it did let them roleplay. So, we chose to roleplay for the entire session, which lasted right through dinner, though I took a break for it. I had my character fall asleep while I was at dinner. This is her new habit. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to the teen supergroup meeting, where they started a game of truth or dare. It's interesting that in roleplaying versions, folks seem as interested in the truth as the dare. At the end, I started writing up Monday's daily update, which I finished afterwards. Then I went back to city of Heroes: Homecoming, where Mysty said hi, and invited me to a mission for a badge. I found that my second-best badge collector didn't have it yet, so I joined her, and we ran it and got it. Then we ran a low-level, during which Dr. Faustus said hi. Two of the others wanted to do the sequel, but it was late for something so long for me. So, we broke up, promising a sequel another day. I got together with Dr. Faustus to finish a story arc we'd been doing together. We were so close to the end, we didn't go nearly as long as the taskforce would have. Then I made notes in this, breaking to read some web comics, and ending with a prayer and forward Day by Day. {Smile}
