Daily Update, August 23, 2025

On Saturday in the morning, I started writing not long after breakfast. I think I wrote for over an hour, switching back and forth between my daily update and the story I'm revising for my creative writing class. When I'm just writing my daily update, I can't write nearly as long before I get distracted and find myself taking a break. However, with two different writing tasks, I could switch back and forth. I didn't tire nearly as quickly when working on the story anyway, even though it was slow going. I kept needing to compose stuff before writing it. {Smile}

Then in the middle of the afternoon my main nurse took me out. Our first stop was Liliu'okalani Gardens. We parked near the fishing pier and walked through the park to the ice cream parlor for a popsicle. I got a liliko'i cream (passionfruit cream). Then we walked through the park by a different route while I ate my popsicle. Next, we stopped by Safeway and picked up some prescriptions and a few more things. Then we ran another errand before my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

The writing took most of my morning until I stopped to clean myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I had lunch while finishing my daily update. Then I browsed on the web a bit before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the auction house and storage and worked on some badges until I went out with my main nurse. After I got back, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on the auction house and badges until Pierogies said hi. We talked, then did an individual mission. After that, we just hunted, so we could drop it when I was called to dinner.  I think we were both surprised how long the hunting lasted. {Smile}

After dinner I read from Forward Day by Day. Then I browsed on the web a bit before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on the auction house and my friends, chatting with Ulty in the game and Nox on Discord, the chat server. Then I spotted Dr. Faustus and said hi. They were in a taskforce, so I fiddled around with a character. They he told me his taskforce had found a giant monster at the end. I joined the league they were forming to help fight the giant monster. Then we left, only for Dr. Faustus to find another group working on a different giant monster. I got in on the tail end of that one, too. After that, we did much of a story arc nearby and squeezed in a badge mission before Dr. Faustus had to leave. Before long, Azurette said hi. They showed me a new part of the base, and I told her about the villain supergroup I belong to, and that they're looking for role players who'd like to join. They showed me a character that they think could work. I later remembered that it sort of almost fits character type from the game that the supergroup draws from. Afterwards, I made notes in this, with only a break to check with Azurette about the character. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 22, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my Ballroom Dancing Cha-Cha class. Not as many came, but the ones who did were enthusiastic. I started dancing with one gal. It's a little tricky for two follows to dance together, but we made it work. Then the gal who wants to learn to lead came late. We got a laugh, as usual, because she was helping me learn the cha-cha, while I was teaching her how to lead some of the steps, but it worked for us. This was my exercise for the day. After class, I sat and waited for my main nurse to pick me up, first in the padded chair where he usually sits while I finished my water, then on a bench where I could see the cars come into the parking lot. He came and took me home after a bit. {Smile}

After I got home, I browsed the web over lunch and read web comics. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends, then worked on the auction house on a few different characters, finishing just as it was time to start the villain supergroup meeting. I went to the meeting on my moderately high-level member. We first talked about how we want more members, but aren't sure how to find folks who would fit in. We hoped four were coming but one got confused. He thought it was cancelled, so he didn't come. Not having enough for the 4-person trial, we did a story arc my character had instead. We finished up and disbanded in time for me to do storage, auction house, and crafting before dinner. {Smile}

I tried to read Forward Day by Day during dinner, but the TV distracted me too much again. Reading it right after dinner went beautifully again. Then I browsed on the web, especially reading web comics, around writing up my daily update. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the auction house. Then I checked on my friends in City of Heroes: Homecoming. I chatted with Ulty and talked with Nox on Discord, the chat server. I mentioned the villain supergroup to Nox, but they have a conflict at the time we meet. I went back to the game and started thinking about playing by myself when Azurette said hi, and that they wanted to play. They mentioned a taskforce and a type of individual mission. I picked the taskforce. We ran it with half a team and finished earlier than I expected. Then I talked with Azurette until they left. After that, I made notes in this, with a little web browsing and some checking characters and storage in City of Heroes: Homecoming. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 22, 2025

On Thursday, a while after lunch, my main nurse and I looked over the forms Mom's attorney had me print out. I set one aside as something to be dealt with at the office and started filling out the next for me. Then I realized they wanted Mom's information instead of mine. "Decedant" made me think of "descendant," but when I hit the part of "date of death," I realized they must mean "deceased." So, we decided to go down to the office to get them to help me. I expect this will involve making an appointment/ Hopefully they'll replace the two ruined pages and catch me before I make similar mistakes. {smile}

I didn't do any exercise, but between Zumba Gold the day before, and ballroom dancing expected the day after, I hope a day off isn't bad. {Smile}

In the morning, I browsed the web before I cleaned myself up with my main nurse's help. I showed him a little infection I'd found. We'll keep an eye on it, and dose it with topical antibiotics, and hope that fixes it. After that, I wrote up my daily update over lunch. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming unusually early for me. I worked on badges and the auction house and checked on friends. Then I broke to tackle the paperwork for Mom's lawyer, though that didn't work out. I went back to the game and checked my friends. Then I spotted a taskforce I knew a particular character needed. I joined it, and the group ran it particularly quickly, or so it felt to me. I got a few badges for doing it and picked up a couple more that were quick and easy. Then I worked on auction house and storage. Next, I switched to the character Kitten designed and started to hunt. Pierogies came on and said hi. He helped a little with the hunt, but I suggested doing a mission. It was set too difficult for just us at first. I cut back... I don't think quite enough, since Pierogies switched to a better character to finish. The mission ended right before dinner, so we said goodnight, and I squeezed in a bit of crafting right at the end. {Smile}

I tried to read Forward Day by Day over dinner, but it really helped to read it again afterwards, when I wasn't near the TV, which kept distracting me from my reading. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my friends and chatted briefly with Ulty. I also did auction house, storage, and crafting. Then I finished up the hunts I found on the character Kitten designed. I'll get more when they go up in level, but it's all missions that I see for now. After that, I browsed the web and began chatting with Nox. Back in the game, I began chatting with Azurette. I toured the base she's still building. It's coming along nicely but has a way to go still. Eventually, she left. I noticed a badge I could work on a little and got back barely in time. I didn't finish it, but it's well started now. Then I checked a few characters. I remembered and ran a mostly-talk tutorial story arc on the character Kitten designed. Then I did more auction house, storage and crafting. I did a little editing on the story I share in my Creative Writing class. Then I made notes in this with a little checking on City of Heroes: Homecoming, Cross Stitch World, and Amazon. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 20, 2025

On Wednesday, I spent most of the morning setting up automatic payment with my cell phone provider. I had to pay this month separate, but future months will get paid automatically. I'd had this all set up for years, but that stopped when the card accidentally got drained. {smile}

I myself really felt drained afterwards, enough so I only texted the gal who has been guiding me through discernment. She called me that afternoon, actually while my main nurse was taking me down to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale for my Zumba Gold. She suggested starting with _Forward Day by Day_, which is the "scripture and thoughts about it" that I used to read to Mom daily. I never thought that counted as prayer. It's a scripture reading with a short homily on it, which isn't what I think of as a prayer. If that counts, that's a tremendous weight off my mind. It's the one daily religious practice I kept up for years. I stopped when Mom died, and honestly, I've missed it. So, before dinner, I took it up again. I read the day's entry twice before dinner and really enjoyed returning to it. I realized I have more time to think about it now that it doesn't need to be followed immediately with other readings. {Smile}

As I mentioned, in the late afternoon, my main nurse took me down to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale for my Zumba Gold class. I talked before, after, and during the breaks with two other women. I hope I'm making friends, though this class is not continuing next quarter, so I'm not sure we'll stay in touch. I also talked with my teacher before class and confirmed that the guy who will be teaching a class overlapping with our current time slot is the one I struggled to keep up with when my teacher was sick. My teacher will have another class instead, but unfortunately, it's too early int he morning to be easy to start attending. I think I'll look for another mid-week dance class, possibly hosted elsewhere. After class, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

Over lunch, I browsed the web and read web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked my friends, then the auction house and storage while working on some badges until I got ready to go down to Zumba Gold. I got the phone call at the beginning of my ride down to Zumba Gold, then played Cross Stitch World the rest of the way over. On the way back, I watched scenery for a while, then played Cross Stitch World again. After I got home, I fit in Forward Day by Day before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I wrote up Tuesday's daily update, with web browsing and web comics in the breaks. Then I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I worked on badges and the auction house. then I checked friends and talked with Ulty and Azurette. I also chatted with Nox on Discord, the chat server. Then I got the character Kitten designed for me and reinstalled the program she set them up on. I made sure she had as much of the design as I could implement at this level. Then I ran a few hunts on that character when I realized they had some. It's good to get back to that character. I feel bad about neglecting them, even accidentally, especially when I think of how much work Kitten put into designing them. When I was done hunting, I worked on storage, auction house, and crafting that it had produced. Then I made notes in this, with breaks to play Cross Stitch World and browse on the web before I finished the notes. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 19, 2025

On Tuesday, I was reminded about the monthly meeting right before breakfast. So, after breakfast, my relief nurse took me down to park where the meeting was held. We visited while eating brunch, then played word games. They were deciding whether to switch to Bingo or Yahtzee when I had to leave.

My relief nurse took me to my creative writing class next. We told what we'd written during the week. In my case, that was little but included significant fact-checking while writing. Then we read a piece and went around the class, hearing folk's responses to it. After that came a freewriting exercise, followed by reading what we wrote, and responding a bit to each other's writing. After class, I got into a long discussion with a couple of other students and only left when they did. I did leave with an invitation to the tsunami museum downtown, and the promise that as a relative of a survivor of a tsunami, admission will be free. {Smile}

I ate brunch at the picnic, and lunch near the end of my writing class. I played Cross Stitch World in the car between stops. When I got home, I found the housekeeper hard at work. The house is definitely better for her attentions. After getting home, I settled in online, quickly going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked a few characters and my friends before going to the teen supergroup meeting. We started with roleplaying. Then we ran a taskforce with light roleplaying, meaning we talked in character while playing. An old friend of mine joined us for the taskforce. They invited him many months ago without my knowledge. We only discovered we were both in the group a few months later. He didn't feel his character was ready to go to the base, where we started the roleplaying, so we met him at the taskforce contact. The taskforce ran into dinner, so I left right after it was done. {Smile}

When I got back, the meeting had adjourned. I was quite surprised, since they usually go for over an hour after I return from dinner. I talked to Ulty, who leads the group, and my old friend. Between them I learned that Ulty and Jenny's Player, her very good friend, and assistant leader of the group, had another roleplaying engagement with a limited window of opportunity. My old friend had gotten busy talking with other friends, so I worked with the auction house storage and a few badges. Then I began writing Monday's daily update but spent more time browsing the web and reading web comics until I treated my blood sugar. Then I concentrated on finishing my daily update before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I spotted Dr. Faustus while checking my friends. So, I said hi and we teamed up with me on my moderately low-level villain supergroup member. We did one short story arc where I gained a level and started a longer story arc before Dr. Faustus had to leave. Then I worked on storage, the auction house, crafting, and badges. Next, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web, especially reading web comics. I finished my evening. by making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 18, 2025

On Monday my relief nurse took me down to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale where my line dancing class was just starting. I got right in there and followed the leader, dancing to every number. That was my exercise for the day. My relief nurse took me home again afterwards. {Smile}

Also, at the class, I learned about a social at a church on Friday. I'll have to think about it. It might make me cut my villain supergroup meeting short, which seems a shame. It would also double up with ballroom dancing: cha-cha for a LOT of exercise in one day. I'm not entirely sure I'll have the energy at that point. {smile}

After I got home, I had lunch, followed by a nap, because I was really tired. After my nap, I got onto my computer. I browsed the web and read web comics until I felt enough like myself to go into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends. Then I worked with the auction house and storage, but I struggled to get into the game. I did some correspondence with friends elsewhere, especially on Discord, the chat server. Then I thought to fix my blood sugar. After that, I could focus on the game enough, I went back to it and played by myself until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up my daily update with many breaks for web browsing and correspondence with friends. After that, I got into City of Heroes: Homecoming a little late. I checked on friends there, talking with Phonso and Ulty a bit as I began to play by myself. I stopped playing by myself and joined Phonso when he got done with the taskforce he was in and was ready to start a strike force. I joined that and ran it with the nearly full team he recruited. Then I worked with the auction house and storage, followed by playing by myself on a low-level character until I gave up and did a little crafting. I worked a little more with the auction house, then made notes in this. I browsed the web, played Cross Stitch World, and corresponded with friends in breaks. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 17, 2025

On Sunday after breakfast, main nurse took me to church. I rested in car on the way down due to too little sleep. I think we arrived in the middle of the sermon. We sat with Auntie Barbara. I enjoyed the nice service. Afterwards. I ate with my head nurse and other parishioners. Near the end, I talked with the head of the Daughters of the King chapter, mainly about trying to live up to the vows before committing. I'm hoping a little practice will reassure me that I can continue to live up to the vows over the years. {Smile}

After lunch, I left with Auntie Barbra. We talked in the car on the way to visit Charlotte. It was nice seeing and talking with her. We even met her current cat. Afterwards, Auntie Barbara took me home. {Smile}

I didn't get any real exercise done. However, I walked around the mall Saturday, and my lain dancing class is Monday. I hope a day off in between is okay, or even good. {Smile}

When I got home, I finished printing out stuff for Mom's lawyers and set everything where my main nurse can help me start working on them Wednesday, when he gets back after his days off. Then I browsed on the web, watching some videos until I took a nap. After my nap, I browsed web a little while I woke up. When I was mostly awake, I started to write up some of my daily update. When I was fairly sure I felt up to playing, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on friends. I also left a note in discord for Kitten, Pierogies, and Dennis. Then I worked on the auction house and storage until Pierogies and Kitten said hi. Dennis said hi as we were getting together, saying he was with his best friend. He invited us to join them. We did and ran a couple of missions with them. Then his best friend left, and we ended up hunting giant monsters until I left for dinner late. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up my daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and worked with the auction house and storage. Then I found Kitten, and we talked a fair while before they helped me get two more pairs of badges on my best badge collector. Then they left, and I worked on more auction house and storage. After that, I played by myself, working on badges on lower-level characters. I played a little Cross Stitch World, but not much. Then I made notes in this, playing by myself in City of Heroes: Homecoming, and browsing the web, especially web comics, during breaks. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 16, 2025

On Saturday, in the morning, my nurse suggested I try using his printer. We got it to work, first on a one-page file, then, after downloading a reader, a longer PDF. I'm hoping this should work, though I don't quite promise to get something printed out for my writing class on Tuesday. I'll try, but we'll see. {Smile}

Then a while after lunch my main nurse picked up a friend and came back for me. We went down to the ice cream stand first. His friend got two scoops of ice cream, while I got a chocolate peanut butter popsicle. I was hoping for chocolate fudge, but they were out, so I got my next most favorite chocolate. Then we dropped his friend off at the airport, before going to the mall to walk around. I stopped by Enjoy Comics. It's looking distinctly emptier, but it's still there for now. I think their lease ends later this month. For health reasons, they are not renewing. I seriously considered two books but put back one. I bought the other and started reading it. So far, I'm enjoying it. After that, my main nurse took me home again. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed on the web, read web comics and played Cross Stitch World. Then I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Next, I had lunch while I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends, then worked with the auction house, crafting, and storage until our trip out. On the ride, I played Cross Stitch World between stops until my phone's battery ran low. Then I watched the scenery. After we came back, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends, then worked with the auction house, crafting and storage until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I checked Discord, the chat server, and found Dennis wanted to team up. So, I went right into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where Dennis soon found me, and we did team up. We did two missions two missions together, one his, and one mine. Then we said goodnight. After that, I began writing up Friday's daily update. Then Kitten said hi. I finished writing up Saturday's daily update while we arranged to team up. He was already in a team with someone who was caught up in work. When he got back, it turned out to be Jag. I joined them and helped them with a mission. Then Jag left, so we said goodnight. Kitten stayed and suggested working on badges. She helped me get 11 badges surprisingly easily. During that, I noticed that I had missed sharing the end of my daily update with Nox, Radio, and Haiden on Discord, so I shared the rest/ I chatted with Nox for a while on Discord while continuing to work on the badges with Kitten. Then Kitten and I tried to get another badge, but the contact wouldn't talk to me. So, we tried the story arc that usually introduces him but only got not quite two missions in before I needed stop. Kitten was tired by then anyway. We'll have to start over again, but that's okay. we said goodnight. Then I made notes in this, browsing on the web and chatting on Discord during breaks. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 15, 2025

On Friday after breakfast my main nurse took me down to the Kamana Senior Center, expecting to drop me off for my Ballroom Dance: Cha-cha class. However, they were closed. I did insist on checking the classroom, even when the rest looked closed, because of experience with a club that met there on weekends, when the rest looked closed. However, this time the classroom was closed, too. So went to Safeway, where I got some prescriptions. Then I checked on my shots. I needed a flu shot, so I got it. While I did this, my purse picked up some groceries. Then we went to Target, where I checked the printers, but didn't quite get one. Then my main nurse took me home. We did walk around a bit at Safeway, and much more at Target, so I got some exercise, though not as much as Ballroom Dancing gives me. {Smile}

On the trip, I played Cross Stitch World. After the trip, I played more Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web, including watching some videos, right over lunch. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked my two villain supergroup members before our weekly meeting, trying to work on some badges. Three worked fine, but one wasn't working for either character. I went to the supergroup meeting on my moderately low-level character. Dr. Faustus and a gal who's pretty regular were there before me. They didn't think anyone else was coming, and no one did. We did a story arc my character had, and I actually gained a level, since I was ready to and remembered to turn on experience points. ((I tend to run with experience turned off to avoid missing content, since there are far more contacts and story arcs than you can get through while gaining XP the whole time, unless you use a system that doesn't let you add to the group after you've begun. After that arc, the gal left. Dr. Faustus brought in a second character to suggest another story arc. We squeezed it in before dinner, running into dinnertime a bit. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed the web a lot, and played a lot of Cross Stitch World too, while I tried to write up my daily update. I finally finished it and went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, I think I must have been mildly sick not to get my cat together sooner. I started checking characters and working with the auction house. I also started chatting with Nox on Discord, the chat server. Soon Kitten said hi, and we teamed up. I looked for a way to get a particular mission, and Kitten finally let me use their base for it. We ran the mission and had trouble finding a guy. We finally found him, then finished the mission and even mopped up afterwards. That mission got me a badge my best badge collector was missing, which feels particularly big. It's getting harder to get badges on her, but they added a badge tracker which should help. Next, we went to the new zone. I started a contact, but I wanted to spend more time with it than I had right then. So, we moved on. Kitten helped me get a second badge. Then we finished up with a more straight-forward mission. After that, I checked some things in the game and made notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 14, 2025

On Thursday, not long after I got up, I got a call from a fellow with a self-publishing school. He asked some questions, since they'd noticed me looking into it recently. After a while I asked him to call me back around lunch time. {smile}

I had to get ready for my online counselling appointment, which started during breakfast. It was a good session. We talked about some things that seemed important, including how to proceed with Daughters of the King, We also discussed my writing, and that phone call a bit. {Smile}

Closer to lunch, the guy called back and mentioned rates that sounded pretty high. However, when I looked into editing rates after he hung up, they seemed more typical than I expected. Later I found lower rates elsewhere, but not as much lower as I could wish. I can still hope for a better deal, but it's beginning to look like publishing without losing money on getting the book ready may be trickier than I thought, especially through self-publishing, where editing, design, advertising, and such costs are taken on the author. Traditional publishing takes on most of those costs in exchange for a share of the profit. {smile}

Then in the middle of the afternoon my main nurse took me out for errands. I dropped off books at library and stopped by the bank for some cash. Then we went to Target. Walking around it was my main exercise but with Zumba Gold the day before, I hope a light day is okay. I priced printers but didn't buy one. I just moved on to the books when my nurse suggested I leave the printer for another day.  I did buy a couple of books after looking them over. Then my main nurse took me back home.

After my online counselling, I browsed on the web and read web comics around the second phone call, the research into editing rates it prompted, and lunch as well. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on my friends, then worked on auction house, crafting, and storage until our trip out. During the trip out, I played Cross Stitch World a lot in the car. After we got back, I played a bit more Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked n friends. Then I checked the badges on my best badge collector. I found a badge I could work on by myself, though it will take a while to get. I began to work on it before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and wrote up Wednesday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked on my friends. Then I worked on that badge again. I also chatted with Nox on Discord. Then I suddenly got invited to a team hunting a giant monster in the zone I was in. I joined it and got it. Then we got a few other giant monsters, too. After that, I worked on that badge again, until I wound down sorting out the auction house, crafting, and storage. After that, I made notes in this before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 14, 2025

On Wednesday I got a couple of emails reminding me that I need to sort out Mom's estate. I called her lawyer's office, and learned I'd gotten as far as letting them know back in February. Their secretary said they'd sent me an email in February. I did find it, but she resent it, too. I am so glad! It is SO much easier to find something on page one or two of my email than on page 20-something. I've looked it over, and the next step is getting a printer to print out what they say I need to. Some students in my creative writing class wanted me to use a printer anyway. {Smile}

Then late in the afternoon my main nurse took me to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale for my Zumba Gold class. It went well. I talked with a couple of gals during most of the breaks and learned - or perhaps was reminded - that a fellow is taking over our time slot next session. Our teacher will get a class at a different time, but 8:30 am is too early for me. The other gals were concerned that the fellow is far too vigorous for them. I suggested looking into the YMCA, or possibly line dancing. I'll have to look into them myself. If the fellow is who they thought it was, I had trouble keeping up with him, too. After class, my main nurse took me home again. {smile}

After breakfast. I browsed on the web and followed up on the emails from my financial adviser by calling Mom's lawyer's office. Then I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse before lunch. During and after lunch, I browsed the web and played Cross Stitch World. Then I began writing up Tuesday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends, then started working on auction house and storage. I also talked with Pierogis, who was getting called away, but said he'd be back. So, I continued working on auction house and storage. Next, I set up keeping better track of badges my third best badge collector hasn't gotten yet. I have this set up for my best badge collector and second-best badge collector already. I noticed some easy-to-get badges my second-best badge collector didn't have and worked on getting them. Then I started some slightly more complicated badges and got one of those before Pierogis came back. We talked until my main nurse said it was time to leave for my Zumba Gold class. I played a lot of Cross Stitch World both down to Zumba Gold and back from it. {Smile}

After Zumba Gold, I had dinner. After dinner, I finished writing up Tuesday's daily update. Then I read web comics before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends and said hi to Ulty and Azurette. I talked with Ulty while I continued getting two more slightly more complicated badges on my second-best badge collector. Azurette said hi-back near the end of the last badge. When it was done, she gave me a tour of the base she's begun recently, though she complained - with justification - about me multitasking a couple of times. Then we talked at some length. Next, we joined a hunt for two giant monsters. After that, we said goodnight. Then I updated my record of my second-best badge collector's badges, and did some storage stuff. Next, I made notes in this, playing a little Cross Stitch World as breaks and afterwards. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 12, 2025

After breakfast my relief nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my creative writing class. It went well. I learned my teacher's rates for individual assistance. I also learned that my fellow students really want a copy of the story I read in class. I remembered lunch this time, though my relief nurse only packed the salad and water. he didn't pack the bread that usually goes with it. After we were done, my relief nurse took me back home. {Smile}

I didn't get any real exercise on Tuesday, but between line dancing the day before and Zumba Gold expected the next day, I hope I'm covered. {Smile}

When I got back from class, had some starch and such to finish off lunch. Then I checked out some web comics before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with auction house and storage, and got to the teen supergroup meeting barely late. We started out roleplaying. Then we started a story arc one of the players had written, roleplaying in between fights, and occasionally during them, too. I'm not quite comfortable with the theme, but others expressed discomfort, too. Our first attempt at the story arc ended prematurely. The author found she'd published the wrong version. She published the right version, and we rushed through the part we'd already done. Then we did the rest. We were disappointed when last mission failed because a fellow we had to rescue didn't make it. The author was particularly disappointed because she thought she'd removed chances to fail. She promised to republish that mission alone without that requirement, to be done in a later week. We adjourned to our supergroup base for roleplaying. I settled in with the rest. Then I got called to dinner. I left my character officially dozing in the tub while I went to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went right back to the teen supergroup meeting for more roleplaying. An old friend of mine came in and joined us. He's part of the group, but his Tuesday schedule doesn't let him come earlier. We talked even after everyone else left. Then he left, and I wrote up Monday's daily update. Next, I chatted with Nox on Discord, the chat server. Then I went out of the supergroup's base, and found two members talking to another old friend of mine. We talked a little, then I joined their roleplaying until they left. After that, I did auction house, storage and crafting until Dr. Faustus said hi. We talked, and teamed up with me on my lower level villain supergroup member, and Dr. Faustus on their supergroup member. We finished one contact I was only a few missions from finishing. Then we did most of a contact I'd barely begun. Kitten joined us partway through, and finished up with us. Then I did some auction house and storage, played some Cross Stitch World and made notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 11, 2025

On Monday before breakfast I called Cardiology because I couldn't make it to a test that was scheduled for that day because I can't safely climb into my relief nurse's tall truck before breakfast. They started to tell me I had to reschedule, even though the doctor who ordered the test left. Then they paused, and checked with a nurse. They came back and said no, I didn't need to do it after all. I was wondering if that was better to talk to my new doctor first. Let him decide if I need it, sicne he'll be treating me now. {Smile}

Then after breakfast, my relief nurse took my down to Auntie Sally's Luau Hale for my first timers' Line Dancing class. I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed visiting with a few of the other students, especially a fellow I'm getting acquainted with. We had a guest instructor for a few dances near but not at the end. The guest did dances that felt slightly different from our usual ones. It's nice ot change things up once in a while. After class, my relief nurse took me home. {Smile}

Then in the middle of the afternoon the gal with Daughters of the King came for my last discernment session. We went over the last chapter together, including the extra stuff it suggested. tried to answer each of the questions at the end, too. Then we talked a bit about how I need to decide whether to join the order. It is a commitment, and not one that is set up to be easy to back out of. Still, I've been wanting a way to draw closer to God and to get more involved in Church, too. Since Mom passed away, church has become a bigger part of my life, yet I feel like I really could be better connected to it. {smile}

When I got home from my dance class, I had lunch. Then I browsed on the web, played Cross Stitch World, and read web comics until the gal came for the Daughters of the King discernment. After my Daughters of the King discernment, I browsed on the web a bit. I almost started writing my daily update, but I noticed it was getting late. I checked Discord, and talked with Kitten, Dennis and Pierogis a bit. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I joined them for two quick, high-level missions before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I wrote up my daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with auction house and crafting. Then I talked with Ulty and Jenny's player until I spotted a taskforce. I grabbed a character I thought needed it, though after we started, I realized she'd done it before. She still benefitted from it, getting a few badges, as well as the usual rewards. I also realized Dr. Faustus was doing it too, which was nice. somehow it's less lonely knowing I'm working with a friend, even if our interactions are limited. After the taskforce, I joined Dr. Faustus with him on his villain supergroup member and me on my lower level villain supergroup member. We finished one of my contacts, and got much of another contact done, too, with Kitten joining us for the last two or three missions. Then I made notes in this, and began writing a scene for tomorrow's class on creative writing. Then I finished notes in this and went to bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 10, 2025

On Sunday after breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. We arrived right at the end of the sermon and sat with Auntie Barbara and Michelle. I enjoyed the service. Afterwards, I had lunch on the lanai with Auntie Barbara and the gal who founded our parish's new Daughters of the King chapter. There was a fair bit of dessert, and other stuff, too. {Smile}

After lunch, my main nurse took me to Target. I ran into some gals who were concerned about my cane and asked to pray for me. I was fine with that until they declared my vertigo was gone at the end. That is not how severe, permanent vertigo that's at least partly neurological works. Still, I held my tongue and reminded myself that they meant well. They were just annoyingly clueless. {small smile}

My main nurse and I had a little trouble finding the monitors, but asking a clerk helped. Then we could only find a brand I wasn't looking for. We asked another clerk, who started showing us things, and the second was exactly the monitor I wanted: a 24" Samsung marked down to a little over $100, which is better than Amazon at the moment. We got that, and finished a circuit around the store. So I did get some walking in this weekend. Then we bought the monitor and left. {Smile}

At home, my nurse connected the stand to the panel, then gave it to me. He came by a little later, just as I got the thing working, He was impressed he didn't have to set it up for me. After that, I browsed the web, read a few web comics, and looked over Discord. I tried writing my daily update but didn't get very far. I did say goodnight to Pierogis. Then I treated my blood sugar and felt enough more like myself to ask in a conversation with Kitten, Dennis, and Pierogies (who was still talking) whether I should clean myself up before or after going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Dennis said to play after, so I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and got together with Dennis. We squeezed in two moderately high-level missions before dinner. They were my missions, but fought enemies Dennis is working on, so helped us both, which we both agreed was particularly nice. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed on the web and watched videos, though not any videos for any of my classes. Then I made myself finish my daily update before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with auction house, storage and crafting. I went back out to watch a couple of videos, then got back in in time for Dr. Faustus to invite me to a badge mission he was running with several others, too. It took me longer than usual to find a character who needed it, I eventually I found one. I ran the mission with the team he'd gotten. Then the team dispersed. Dr. Faustus left to restart his computer because of a power failure, so I worked on the auction house, crafting, and storage until Dr. Faustus came back. We picked my lower-level villain supergroup member and her supergroup mate and much of one of her contacts. We fought a bunch of cultists with ghosts, and a spider themed villain group. Then we said goodnight. I did some auction house and storage and made notes in this with breaks for Cross Stitch World and videos. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 9, 2025

On Saturday after breakfast, I found an email from Carol. She was surprised how cheap my monitor was and didn't think it was economical to have her deal with the company. She suggested I do so myself. I thought about it, but what would I have if I did? A monitor very much like the monitor that only lasted 10 months. I think I can afford a better monitor than that one. {Smile}

I'd asked, and she recommended a few brands, so I searched for them online, and via company web pages, at a couple of local stores. It looked like Hilo's Target had a Samsung of the right size for a particularly good deal, so I asked my main nurse to take me there after lunch. We went to the ice cream parlor so I could get a popsicle first. My main nurse's car started making loud, strange noises about a block away from the ice cream parlor. We did make it to the ice cream parlor and parked. My main nurse said to go pick out a popsicle while he looked at the car. I got a lilikoi (passionfruit) creme popsicle while my nurse checked his car. I got back, and settled into the car, enjoying my popsicle. The nurse soon tried to drive off. He started off at a lazy speed that's nice for the parking lot we were in but shook his head and parked again. He called around to track down a tow truck. which isn't easy on a Saturday. Then we waited. While we did, he arranged for a friend of his to come get us, and I played Cross Stitch World. That took a while. When she got here, my main nurse asked if she wanted ice cream, since we're at an ice cream parlor. She got ice cream, while I got a haupia (coconut milk pastry) popsicle. We waited some more, eating the popsicle and ice cream, then playing games on our phones - Cross Stitch World for me. Finally, she took me home while my main nurse continued to wait for the tow truck. He came to my home later with his newer car. I did minimal exercise waiting in the parking lot; just some slow walking, mostly between the ice cream parlor and the two cars. {smile}

After breakfast, I found the email and began to research monitors. Then I realized I needed a nap and took one. When I got up, I started browsing on the web as I woke up. I kept browsing and also read some web comics over lunch. Then I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming. I didn't find anyone who isn't there later, so I just did some auction house and storage before our trip out. When I got back, I began to write up daily update only to realize that it was already late enough that if I wanted to team up with Pierogies or Dennis in City of Heroes: Homecoming, I'd better do that now and write later. I finished the first paragraph and messaged them on Discord the chat server. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did very little auction house before Pierogies said hi. We talked then teamed up. Dennis joined us as we were starting on missions. We did a few moderately high-level missions, finishing a story arc I had about an evil, psychic carnival. Then we said goodnight/have a nice dinner just before I went to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing up my daily update. Then I read some web comics before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with auction house, crafting and storage. I also chatted with Nox on Discord. When the crafting and such were done, I said hi to Ulty and Jenny's player. We chatted while I began to play by myself on the same character as earlier. I also did some auction house, storage, and crafting on her. Then Dennis said hi. We chatted, and I switched characters to get stuff to help him with his character, who'd just reached a level good for picking out stuff to improve the character. We chatted quite a while, then said goodnight. I worked with the auction house on the same character. Then I made notes in this, breaking occasionally to check that character in the game. Then I went to bed early-for-me. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 8, 2025

On Friday after breakfast my main nurse took me to my ballroom dance: cha-cha class. I arrived early. Not many came, but those that did stayed until the end. A few came late, including two gals who partner with me. I learned that next quarter will be Ballroom Dance: Foxtrot. I'm ambivalent about going. This hasn't been the best class for learning a dance, but I also just learned they have social get togethers, too, and these classes are good for learning about them. After class, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

Then a while after lunch, Carol came. She looked at my monitors. The old one is working fine, but it's so old, it can't plug into the graphics card I got last year. The new one is dying. She asked if I wanted to deal with the manufacturer, asking for a replacement. I asked her to do it for me admitting I felt a little overwhelmed at the thought of handling that. She asked for some information before she left. I sent it later. {smile}

On the way to and from cha-cha, I played Cross Stitch World. After I got home, I had lunch while browsing on the web. Then I wrote up my daily update Before Carol came. After she left, I checked Discord, the chat server, and found that some folks in the villain supergroup were plain busy, and others were actually having trouble, so folks were all excusing themselves. The leader was still going to show, so I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, and got my moderately low-level member out. I did some auction house and storage before going to the meeting, where I met with the leader. No one else did, and he was stretched thin, so he called the meeting. He wasn't in a mood for playing or roleplaying for his own reasons. So, I worked on the auction house and storage on several characters. Then I noticed the later long, large-group event recruiting. I got a character and ran it. Then I did auction house, crafting, and storage on her before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed on the web. I accidentally clicked a page that made some popup menus a lot worse. especially since they kept opening web pages. I tried to get it to stop, but the more I did, the worse it got. Ignoring them made them calm down somewhat, but they still interfered with City of Heroes: Homecoming. So, I started chatting with Nox on Discord, which was less affected. I also began making notes in this. I eventually figured out how to arrange things so I could play on City of Heroes: Homecoming, though not quite as well as I like. On there, I began talking with Dragons. By the time I suggested teaming up, they'd joined a taskforce. So, I started playing by myself on a moderately low-level character. Dragons joined me when they were done with their taskforce, which did speed up a slow mission. Then I switched to a moderately high-level character, and Dragons and I did another mission, visiting a bit. After that mission, Dragons left, so I did some auction house, storage and crafting. Then I played Cross Stitch World before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to play by myself on a moderately low-level character. After that, I finished notes in this, running late enough, I got to bed late, even for me. {smile}

Daily Update, August 7, 2025

On Thursday, things were pretty quiet as I got used to the laptop again. I did get a call from Carol, who was making plans to come by the next day. I am relieved. The laptop is better than a screen covered in pink and green flickering lines, but the screen is low enough to give me a crick in my neck. After the last few days, a quiet day was a relief, honestly. I didn't get much exercise, between Zumba Gold the day before and cha-cha expected the next day, but I hope I've earned a little break. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed on the web and tried reading web comics, but I soon gave up and took a nap. After the nap, I did some more web browsing and played some Cross Stitch World before I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I browsed the web over lunch. Then I began writing up my daily update. I paused to check City of Heroes: Homecoming, but I didn't see anyone when I checked my friends, so I left to finish my daily update. After that, I went back to the game, only to find a note from Div saying he'd seen me earlier, but I left before he could catch me. I answered his note, saying I'll have to try harder to catch him. Then I got a moderately low-level character and started to play by myself on her. Kitten said hi, and we teamed up. I picked a regular mission, then another, and maybe a third. Missions tend to be quick at lower levels, including moderately low ones. Then Kitten said she wasn't feeling great and hoped a bath would help. She left to try that, so I started to play by myself. I didn't get far before Dennis said hi, and we teamed up, with me still on the same character. We did a few missions. Kitten came back and joined us partway through. A little later, Pierogies joined us, and we kept doing missions together. Eventually, Kitten left, tired. Pierogies, Dennis, and I did a few more missions before we parted, them going to bed, and me going to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I watched videos and made notes in this, with breaks to answer Nox on Discord, the chat server. Then I read a web comic before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started by sorting through the auction house and storage. I also checked my friends. I started to play by myself on that moderately low-level character again. Not long into that, Dr. Faustus said hi. They offered a badge mission, and I discovered that my third best badge collector didn't have it, so we did it with me on her. Another badge mission followed. My third best badge collector had it, so I did that on my fourth best badge collector. Then we finished out a story arc, with me staying on the same character. After that, Dr. Faustus left. I checked my friends and did some auction house and storage. Then I played Cross Stitch World before I made notes in this. I went to bed a little early-for-me again. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 6, 2025

On Wednesday, before breakfast, I got a call from my podiatrist reminding me of an appointment I'd forgotten. I told my main nurse, but it didn't register as well with him as I thought it did, and I didn't watch the time. I caught it when I was supposed to be there. We headed out then, and I got a call when I was getting into the car for my main nurse to take me to my podiatrist. It was my podiatrist's office asking if I was nearly there and suggesting rescheduling when I didn't say I was. However, I said I was only 10-20 minutes, and thy promised to fit me in. Actually, that's the time to their old place. Their current place is around ten minutes away, especially when we were already going when they hung up. {Smile}

They were happy with how quickly we got there and took me right away. My feet passed inspection, and I got my toenails trimmed. Then we went to Office Max. On the way, I called Carol of the Device Repair Shop and told her about my monitor with the lines and flickering. She hoped it was the cables and apologized for not being able to come over sooner than 2-3 days later. At Office Max, I got all three cables my new and old monitors can use and tried them when we got home. They work no differently than the old ones, so it's not that. {smile}

Then late in the afternoon, my main nurse took me to Auntie Sallyi's Luau Hale only to discover my Zumba Gold was in the butler building nearby. I think my main nurse learned that from some folks were busy setting something up in the Hale. He took me to the butler building, and I joined class slightly late. That was my exercise for the day. It was a fun class, though we don't have much time to visit. Breaks are mainly for hydrating. We can rest before and after. My main nurse took me home afterwards. {Smile}

After breakfast, I got ready to go, then browsed the web and read web comics until I realized I was late. Then I and dashed off to my podiatrist, with the phone call on the way. When I got back, I tried the new cables with no success. Then I browsed on the web, then wrote up my daily update. I started sharing it but had to stop before that was done to leave for Zumba Gold. I played Cross Stitch World on the way home. Then I finished sharing my daily update after I got back. After that, I tried playing Cross Stitch World but realized how tired my eyes were. I think they got eye strain from all the flickering. I ended up getting out my laptop and setting it up before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I tried teaming up with Dennis and Kitten in City of Heroes: Homecoming but kept getting distracted trying to get the laptop more comfortable to use. After a few missions, they went to bed, and I checked on my friends in the game and worked on the auction house and crafting. Then I browsed on the web, played Cross Stitch World, and read web comics. After that, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming to play by myself. When I realized how late it was, I finished the mission and made notes in this while talking with Dr. Faustus on Discord. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 5, 2025

On Tuesday I set up a file to share at my creative writing class before my relief nurse took me down to the Kamana Senior Center for that class. I got there early but wasn't the first one. One gal brought her sister, who is visiting this week. The teacher gave us a lecture, then a free writing exercise where we each wrote a response for several minutes. Then we broke into small groups where we read recent writing and gave critiques, both saying what we liked, and what we felt needed improvement. {Smile}

My relief nurse picked me up afterwards and took me to my doctor's office.  I told them about the symptoms I've still been having, and they decided the antibiotic had worked, but I probably have a yeast infection too. So, I started a medication for that when I got home, since I have some on hand from the last one. Frequent yeast infections are a side effect of one of my regular medications. {smile}

I also got a phone call from my cousin Kim. We caught up with how each other and our friends and relatives are doing. It was so nice to talk with her. We don't call each other often. We really should call more. {Smile}

I didn't exercise on Tuesday, but between line dancing on Monday, and Zumba Gold on Wednesday, a break feels good. {Smile}

After class, I realized I hadn't eaten the lunch I'd brought. I meant to eat it during class, but I ate some on the way to my doctor's office instead, and most of the rest on the way home. I finished up my water and got more to drink when I got home. Then I settled into my computer, checking the chat world and answering some messages. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. close to the time for the teen supergroup meeting. I waited for it to begin and talked with Pierogies. The supergroup meeting started with roleplaying like usual. I'm afraid I took a break to try replacing my monitor with an older, smaller one, but the computer wouldn't talk to the older monitor. The new monitor has developed some both pink and green horizontal lines that flicker and take hours to go away. The wait is getting hard on my migraine, so I'd like another solution, but the computer and the old monitor ignore each other when I try to connect them. I really don't know what's wrong. Anyway, I put up with the new monitor being difficult through the roleplaying, and well into a taskforce that's especially rewarding the first time you do it on a character this week. We had to start without one member because they were too late getting back home after work. We did talk with them after they arrived, but taskforces don't let you add members partway through. After the taskforce, I roleplayed with the supergroup a little before breaking for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to the teen supergroup meeting, where the roleplaying was going strong. It kept going for quite a while. I'm afraid I snuck in writing up Monday's daily update and starting notes for Tuesday's update as it slowed down. I also talked a little with Dr. Faustus. Eventually, most left for bed. That's when Phonso invited me to a strike force. I realized the last two other members, who were playing a romantic couple, looked like they'd appreciate some privacy. So, I excused myself, and joined the strike force, arranging with Dr. Faustus to meet there. We ran it with the group Phonso recruited. After the strike force, the group broke up. I said goodnight to Phonso, and did some auction house and similar sorting. Then I said hi to Dr. Faustus again and joined them for some missions with roleplaying until we said goodnight. After that, I did some auction house and similar stuff before making notes in this. I got to bed early-for-me. I wouldn't mind this being my new normal time. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 4, 2025

 On Monday after breakfast, my relief nurse took me down to Aunty Sally's Luau Hale for my line dancing class. This was my exercise for the day. I enjoyed the class, which went pretty well I thought. I only visited a little with others, though. I need to work on doing more visiting during the breaks. That's when you can make friends. When we were done, my relief nurse came and took me back home. {Smile}

Then, in the afternoon, the gal with Daughters of the King came for discernment. She's got a full-time teaching job, which pushes us later for the last couple of weeks, especially since this isn't paid. Yes, these sessions are entirely volunteer for both of us. I thought the session went pretty well. We hope to finish next week. {Smile}

After we got back from my line dancing class, I had lunch. Then I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web before I began writing up my daily update. I paused to read some web comics, then went back to writing my daily update. Then I stopped for my study of the Daughters of the King discernment when the gal came over. After she left, I finished writing up my daily update. Then I answered Nox and others on Discord before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I only time to check on friends and do some auction house and crafting before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with the auction house and crafting, then checked on my friends. I said hi to Dennis and Dr. Faustus, and started talking with both of them, especially with Dennis at first. He and I decided to team up with Dr, Faustus if they'd like. We three did a mission together, and Rav joined us partway through. Then Phonso invited us to a taskforce. We finished mission, then the four of us joined him. He recruited more, and we started the taskforce. Somehow, we didn't have everyone with us, so we went back to start with the full group. Afterwards, I said goodnight to Dennis, Phonso, and Dr. Faustus. Then I worked on the auction house and crafting the task force had collected stuff for. After that, I played Cross Stitch World and began notes in this. I played Cross Stitch World and revised a story I'm working on for my creative writing class, with less new writing than I hoped. Finishing the first scene was easy. Starting the second scene was not happening. So, I continued notes in this with a little browsing on the web before going to bed early-for-me again. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 3, 2025

On Sunday after breakfast, my main nurse took me down to church. I found Auntie Barbara and sat with her. They were in the sermon when I got there. Auntie Barbra said later that I arrived just after they started, so I heard almost all of it. It was a good service. I like this week's priest. He was here last week, too, I think, and is definitely scheduled for the next couple of Sundays. That's how it will be as long as we have to use supply priests; they'll stay for up to a few Sundays, then move on. {Smile}

After the service we had lunch on the lanai. I sat with my main nurse and some friends. Auntie Barbara sat apart at first, but later came to join us later, which was nice. Afterwards, she and the same gal as last week and I went to visit Charlotte. We had a nice visit with her. Then they took me home. {Smile}

I had little exercise on Sunday, but between walking around Prince Kuhio Plaza the day before and line dancing expected the next day, I think I should be okay with resting a day. {Smile}

When I got home, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with auction house and crafting, then broke to read web comics. After that, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I did more auction house and crafting. Next, I worked on a story arc with a lot talks, and one mission in the middle. Kitten said hi not long after I'd stopped when I reached the mission. We talked a bit, then teamed up. We started playing by doing that mission I'd reached in the story arc with all the talks. Then We did a long, timed mission from an unrelated contact. Then we did two short, individual missions before we broke, each saying "have a nice meal" to the other. I slipped in the rest of the talks after the mission, before dinner quite began. {Smile}

After dinner. I played Cross Stitch World and answered Nox on Discord. Then I made notes in this and began actually talking with Nox on Discord. I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with auction house and crafting. Then Dennis said hi. We talked, then teamed up. Kitten said hi soon after and joined us. Then three of us finished a story arc Dennis had, doing a few missions. Then we worked on a story arc of mine, doing a few more missions before they both admitted they were tired, and went to bed. I worked on the auction house and crafting. Then I made notes in this. I also read some web comics before going to bed early. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 2, 2025

On Saturday, I tried taking my antibiotic right after breakfast and dinner because I think they're usually less likely to upset the gastrointestinal tract if I take it on a full stomach. It worked. I had no gastrointestinal upset all day. {Smile}

A while after lunch, my main nurse took me down the hill. I reminded him about the popsicle, and we got that first. I picked peanut butter and chocolate. Then he paused do an errand on the way to Prince Kuhio Plaza. I walked around that shopping center for forty minutes of walking, which was my exercise for the day. This did include a fairly long stop at Enjoy Comics. It's still there, but the shelves are looking less full. The only thing I really wanted was far too expensive, even at 35% off. I finally picked a book that looks good and isn't nearly as expensive. My main nurse did a couple more errands on the way home. We were out around three hours all told, which I didn't expect. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Friday's daily update before and into lunch. I switched to reading web comics during lunch and continued afterwards. Next came our trip out. After we came back, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web before I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. I went into City of Heroes Homecoming but barely had time to check the auction house before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web before I began making notes in this. I also answered Nox on Discord, the chat server, before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with crafting and auction house. Then Dr. Faustus invited me to a badge mission he they thought they had. I found my moderately high-level villain didn't have it, and joined them, but it turned out to be a different mission. I also talked with Nox on Discord. Dr. Faustus and I kept doing missions on the same characters. Dragons joined us, and we continued to do missions. We found another badge mission before we found the badge mission they first mentioned. When we had a third badge mission, too, I switched to my third best badge collector for it. Dragon's friend joined us near the end. Afterwards, I switched to my seventh best badge collector for that four-person movie trial, though I didn't get more badges there. I had most already; I just need a couple more. After that, Dr. Faustus left, and we fought a few giant monsters, but not one I didn't have the badge for already on my seventh best badge collector. Oh well, I got the regular juicy rewards. They were continuing, but I said goodnight, and made notes in this, with a break to read a web comic. I started to go offline but came back to add a few notes I almost forgot. I was still earlier to bed than usual, though not as early as I'd like to be when church starts at nine the next day. {Smile}

Daily Update, August 1, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center for my ballroom dance: cha-cha class. I got there early. Most got there late, so it started a bit late. I worked on the steps, at first with the gal learning to lead, and later with a couple of other gals. There are enough more gals than guys, not every gal gets to dance with a guy much. I enjoyed dancing, mainly getting the moves I learned last week down better. I also trying to learn more. The gal I danced with first suggested watching online between classes. I'll have to try that. That was my exercise for the day. When class was over, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

After lunch, the nursing company secretary came to pick up the month's check. She didn't have much time to talk but she waited while I made out the check. I'd meant to make it out before she got there, but somehow that didn't happen. {smile}

In the evening, I had a fairly bad spell of gastrointestinal upset. Then middle of my gastrointestinal tract was very gassy, and both ends felt ready to do stuff they thankfully didn't actually do. I looked up a new antibiotic I'd started earlier today online. Both nausea and diarrhea are known side effects, but they may calm down. I can hope, especially if I take it just after meals. I didn't yesterday, but that's helped in the past. {Smile}

After my class, I had lunch while I played Cross Stitch World, browsed the web, and read web comics. Then I wrote up Thursday's daily update, finishing not long before the villain supergroup meeting. I went on my moderately high-level member. One fellow got there before me. Dr. Faustus got there next, with a friend of the first fellow coming last. Dr. Faustus said the leader wasn't coming, and I remembered another regular won't be here for a couple of weeks. We roleplayed lightly, chatting in character. Then they wanted to do a mission I had, but I asked them to get a giant monster first. I needed it for a statistic-improving badge. We got it with the help of folks we recruited who all left as soon as ge was gone. I got the badges I wanted, and the stat improvement, which was very welcome. Then we four did a mission I'd saved for them, followed by another, but Dr. Faustus had to leave for work for a bit. He told us not to wait because his character already had the benefits. We got it done before he returned, which he knew we might. The others left. I stayed until Dr. Faustus came back, but he left for work when he realized we'd finished. He's warned me his work will make for busy weekends for a while longer. Finding myself alone, I worked on the auction house and crafting, along with answering Nox on Discord, until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I began making notes in this. I also played Cross Stitch World and read web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked who was on, then worked on auction house and crafting. Then I spent a fair while hunting for badge by fighting those body modding anarchists and some monsters known for wailing on my moderately high-level villain supergroup member. Towards the end, I also talked with Kitten, who seemed too tired to team up. I said goodnight to Nox with only a little talking. Then I worked on crafting and the auction house. While I was winding down, Pierogies said hi, and invited me to sit in a farm he was doing. I did, while making more notes in this, chatting with Pierogies and doing a little web browsing on the side. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 31, 2025

On Thursday I started my video counselling session as I finished breakfast and continued it afterwards. We talked about the tsunami, and how it affected me. I know some pretty rough personal stories that make it hard to watch folks make choices other than evacuating quickly and staying evacuated until it's very clearly over. Yes, I know I have to let folks make their own decisions, but that is hard when I know stories that made the bad possible outcomes all too clear. {resigned smile}

I didn't do any exercise, between getting sidetracked, and hoping my ballroom dance cha-cha class would get me back on track the next day. {smile}

After the counselling I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. then I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse before lunch while browsing the web. I also began writing my daily update, which I finished after lunch. Next, I read several web comics, catching up with them, since I didn't read for a few days. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I began to check some of my characters. Then Pierogies said hi and we teamed up. After confusion on my part over who to team up on, we chose characters early in the endgame and did two individual high-level missions. Next, we switched characters to work on a badge, running a mission with him before dinner, and planning how to get what he needs. {Smile}

After dinner, I made notes in this, taking breaks by playing Cross Stitch World. After that, I read some web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and began collecting badges on my best badge collector. Next, I read about some of Doctor Faustus's characters. Then I did some auction house and crafting before I checked which friends were on. Not seeing many on, I continued crafting, which eventually changed to badge hunting. I chatted briefly with Nox on Discord, the chat server and also with Dr. Faustus on Discord as well. Then I played a little Cross Stitch World and started reading a new-to-me web comic. I also browsed the web and made notes in this. {Smile}
