Daily Update, July 30, 2025

On Wednesday I called my doctor's office and still didn't get a response. So, I asked my main nurse to take me down to the office. The receptionist and the nurse practitioner looked quite surprised that the pharmacy hadn't called. They'd called a new prescription for a different antibiotic in and asked them to call me. In the future, I guess I should call the pharmacy if the doctor doesn't answer my messages, Next, we went to the bank, where I settled an account that I'd spotted when checking on Mom's account. After that we went home. {Smile}

In the middle of the afternoon, Kamana Senior Center called. All classes for the day were cancelled, including my Zumba Gold. There went my exercise for the day, unless you count a little walking at the doctor's and the bank, but that wasn't much walking. I hope to do better in the future, and that classes will be back by Friday, to do ballroom dance. I feel like I should have done something more, but honestly, I was just too tired. I suspect the stress of the tsunami got to me. Releasing it with the end of the warning and the alert... I'm usually tired after a lot of stress and tsunamis are always very stressful for me. {faint smile}

After the trip out, I had lunch while browsing the web and playing Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Monday's daily update before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I struggled to get into it and paused to make a tiny, but I think important. addition to the story I'm reworking. I did check on my friends in the game, and on the auction house before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Tuesday's daily update, playing Cross Stitch World during breaks. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dr. Faustus, who said he need to finish a mission, and check a story arc he'd made for one of my characters. I prepped my lowest level characters to run content and was getting ready to do something with a barely higher-level character when he said hi, and that he was ready. I switch to the mid-level villain this was made for, and we ran it together. I realized it led into a story arc, so we ran it next. Then we parted, and I collected some badges on my character. Next, I made notes in this, with breaks to browse the web and read web comics. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 29, 2025

On Tuesday after breakfast my relief nurse and I took Uber down to the Kamana Senior Center. I was the first student to arrive for my Creative writing class. I got my teacher's email again and tried to share the story I'd copied to Google Docs and added a scene to the day before. Then class began. We listened to the teacher, then did a freewriting project. After that, we broke into two groups. In our group, three of our four members read what they'd written recently. I went first, reading the new first scene I'd written for that story just the day before. They told me what they liked about it. Then we heard from a guy and told him our reactions. We heard from one of the other gals last and didn't really have time to respond before class ended. However, I did learn that sharing the document with my teacher's email was successful. Afterwards, my relief nurse drove up in his truck and took me home. They hadn't fixed the truck, and hadn't found what was wrong, so, he claimed it, and plans to take it back when they actually have time to work on it. {Smile}

A while after we got home, I heard an alarm. It turned out to be my phone announcing a brand-new tsunami warning caused by an earthquake off Russia in the northeastern Pacific Ocean. I tried to track it most of the rest of the day, right through my supergroup meeting, which was just getting ready to start, and late into the evening, until they downgraded the Tsunami Warning to a Tsunami Advisory. {smile}

I didn't exercise on Tuesday. I was too busy. However, between line dancing the day before and Zumba Gold the next day, I hope to be fine. {Smile}

Before leaving for class, I left notes with my doctor again. They didn't respond on Tuesday, either, but I'd hope the tsunami had something to do with their lack of response. I suspected to have to drop in on them the next day to get a timely answer. On the way home from class, I got a call from my financial adviser. I explained what I'd spotted, and we agreed to both keep an eye on it. We hoped it would be fixed by the end of the day, but that was before the tsunami warning. When I got home, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web, Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, and checked the auction house and which friends were on before I got the tsunami alert. I went to talk with my relief nurse, then rushed back to the game and the supergroup's base. I apologized to the other members for being late to the teen supergroup meeting, only to be assured I was the first one officially there. Others arrived and we began to roleplay. Well, I tried to get into it, but the local stations were running non-stop tsunami news coverage which was far more absorbing than roleplaying when I was concerned how badly the tsunami would hit us, I'm afraid. Then we did a player-designed mission. Well, they did. I tried to play; I really did, but I kept getting distracted by tsunami coverage. Finally tried to tell them. The leader told me to roleplay it. I tried to explain this was real life, not roleplaying. Yes, she'd told me to roleplay it... Finally, someone else spoke up, pointing out they thought I'd said it was real life. I thanked them for pointing out that it was real life. Did I say real life? Yes. Did I mean real life? Yes. Finally, it got through, and they expressed the concern I was really missing. That's when I could break for dinner. {small smile}

I was slow to go back because I kept watching tsunami news. When I live several miles over and 800 feet up from the ocean, it's like watching a train wreck from a pretty safe distance. Well, a train wreck that could really wreck my town and my life if it goes wrong, which I was praying it wouldn't. As long as I stayed home, I was immediately safe. I didn't even have to worry about losing water, since that's gravitational. I could lose power, but I've lived through power failures, even one that lasted for days. Anyway, we never did lose power. Eventually I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I talked with friends and eventually tried to join the teen supergroup meeting when only two were left. They were busy roleplaying, and I still couldn't get into roleplaying, but at least those two knew I was still okay. As it broke up, I ran into a friend from the chat world that preceded the game coming back. We talked before parting. I tried to work with the auction house and crafting, but I ended up playing Cross Stitch World and browsing on the web until I started notes in this. I got the notes done around bedtime, so I'm glad I made them before trying to write up an entry. I had to catch up the next day. {Smile}

P.S. The teen supergroup leader says she never meant to put the game before my personal safety. I didn't think she would, but our responses lined up unfortunately. {smile}

Daily Update, July 28, 2025

On Monday, around breakfast, I called my doctor's office and left a message about my symptoms returning over the weekend. I also got a call from the nursing company's secretary. Because my relief nurse's truck is still in the shop, we have to take Uber. The nursing company promised to reimburse me if I save the amount I paid. I'm glad, considering how much I pay them monthly. {Smile}

Because of the truck, after breakfast, I contacted Uber, and a somewhat chatty gal came and took me and my relief nurse to Aunt Sally's Luau Hale, where I had my line dancing class. The instructor was back and told us about her glaucoma operation. She also led some of the dances, with advanced students who like this group leading the rest. My relief nurse walked in and out until it was over. then I called Uber, and a very quiet guy came and took us home.

After we got home, I called my doctor's office, leaving a message in a different place. then I checked with my financial adviser and left a message. In a phone call a while later, I got the secretary, who told me the progress she'd made, and what I'd need to do myself when things were right. She promised me it should be okay the next day. {Smile}

Then that afternoon the gal who is leading me through the Daughters of the King discernment came to my house. We got another chapter done. There's only a couple more to go. After she left, I wrote a new first scene... or rewrote it, from vague memories of having written it, but I lost it later. It's for a story I need to revise rather drastically. After copying it into Google Docs so I'd have something for my creative writing class that includes new writing. {Smile}

Line dancing was my exercise on Monday. {Smile}

After we got home, I had lunch, followed by the later phone calls. After that, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web until the gal came. After she left, I called my financial adviser again before I did that writing. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with auction house and some crafting until Dennis and Kitten hi. We teamed up and started doing missions. Dr. Faustus soon joined us. We did two missions of mine from different story arcs, and a mission of Dennis's before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Sunday's daily update, doing most of it in one sitting. I pushed myself to keep going past the time I'd usually take breaks, just to get it done. I only took a break when my brain felt tired, and like it wasn't thinking straight. Then I tried going back, but I made the break longer when I realized I wasn't thinking as straight as I hoped when I first went back. After that, I finished Monday's daily update. Then I tried to dash into City of Heroes: Homecoming only to discover that the two biggest "shards" were both down. From what Radio and Nox said in Discord, the chat server, the second biggest shard, which we all use, as do my close friends there, had just gone down. So, I took a short break. I was happily surprised it was back up after that. I went in and started with auction house and had begun to get into crafting when Dr. Faustus said hi. After I finished a little crafting I'd spotted, we teamed up and finished the story arc we'd started the night before. Then we roleplayed his character quizzing mine about part of her personal history. After that, I made notes in this with only a minimal break. {Smile}

Tsunami Alert downgraded July 29, 2025

We're finally downgraded to a Tsunami advisory. Some of the worst flooding in the whole state was in Hilo, my town. We'll see about damage - it's too dark - but we can hope it's light. {cross fingers, pray}

Tsunami Altert, July 28, 2025

 An Earthquake in Russia has apparently generated a tsunami. The first wave is just under two hours out. I and the house are well above the tsunami zone. Water is gravitational so should be fine. No promises about power. I'm hoping for the best, but we shall see. 🤞🙏

Daily Update, July 27, 2025

On Sunday after breakfast, my main nurse and I went to church. We got there just before the offertory, which is barely before the communion itself. We were there for communion and sat with Auntie Barbara. {Smile}

After the service, we had lunch on the lanai, with enough tables, the main dishes were in a room to the side. Yet we ran out of main courses, and at least one lady didn't get anything except dessert. I don't think the dessert table ran out, or not entirely.

Starting during lunch, we had a parish-wide meeting, where the leader, a priest from the Cathedral in Honolulu, led us through answering three questions: 1) Who we are as a parish, 2) Who we want to become as a parish, and 3) What kind of person should our priest be to get us there. We wrote down every answer someone called out, then put check marks by our favorites. He gave us each five checks for the first list, and four for each of the latter two. {Smile}

After that, we left. I went with Auntie Barbara and a friend of hers to visit our friend Charlotte, who is housebound. We enjoyed talking with her. I even found the only short video of Dad. Thankfully, I have it up on Facebook. We not only saw what he and Mom looked like when he was in the nursing home. We heard him singing a song about Mary. Then Auntie Barbara took me back home. {Smile}

I didn't get any exercise, but I look forward to my line dancing class the next day. {Smile}

On the way down to church, I made notes about two phone calls I need to make. One is to my doctor, because the infection seems resistant to the antibiotic they gave me. The other is to my financial adviser, to talk about stuff I found recently at Mom's bank. On the way back, I talked with Auntie Barbra and her friend. When I got home, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web until I took a nap because I'd gotten to bed too late for such an early morning as Sundays are this summer. After my nap, I played more Cross Stitch World and browsed the web some more before I wrote up Saturday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started working with the auction house and crafting. I also checked which friends were on. Then I checked Discord, the chat server, where I chatted with Nox and told Dennis I hoped we could get together after his walk. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked and began setting up the character I just got out of the tutorial. Then I played by myself on the last character stuck in the tutorial, making distinct progress on her until Dennis said hi. I switched to the moderately high-level villain supergroup member so we could team up. He helped me improve her a bit more. Then we squeezed in a not-too-long mission before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed on the web and started making notes in this. I paused to watch some videos, then made more notes in this before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked the auction house, then took a break to catch up on web comics. Then i went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I played by myself to get the last character stuck in the tutorial out, this time with the badge her sister missed. Then I began setting her up. I stopped when Dr. Faustus said hi, switching to a mid-level villain I've been wanting to introduce him to. We started a story arc together, or at least I talked to the contact. However, we noticed this assumed I'd done a taskforce I hadn't on her as a villain. So, we did the taskforce the dialog assumes we have done. After that, we did the first mission of the story arc before saying goodnight. Then I checked some of the stuff she'd picked up. Next, I read web comics before finishing making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 26, 2025

On Saturday, a while after lunch, my main nurse took me down to the ice cream parlor in Lilu'okalani Garden, where I picked out a chocolate fudge popsicle. Then we went over to Target, where I walked over to the books and back, browsing them but not buying anything, while my main nurse got some things. Then we went back home. {Smile}

Walking around Target was my exercise. It wasn't much, but I had cha-cha the day before, so I hope it's okay. {Smile}

After breakfast, I had a nap. Then over lunch I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and checked who was on. Then I checked the auction house. (Yes, this game has an auction house for the auctions.) I also did some crafting and played by myself a tiny bit on the gal I got out of the tutorial the day before. After that, I started notes in this before our trip out. After I got back, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web Then I wrote up Friday's daily update and made notes in this. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and worked on crafting and the auction house while I chatted with Nox on Discord, the chat server until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I checked on friends, saying hi to Dr. Faustus, while I crafted and worked with the auction house. Then I started working on talks about crafting with my moderately high-level villain supergroup member, Dr. Faustus found me just as I got to the one real mission in the story arc with all the talks about crafting. We teamed up, and finished the arc in character, since his character is a professor. Then we started a story arc that connects me to a particularly powerful villain. We spent a very long time talking about the choices until I finally picked the right one for this character, which involved figuring out who four different villains would pick. I was really impressed with how patient he was in choosing. Most say just pick one, but Dr. Faustus felt getting the right one was important, even when that took a long time. I have to agree, with this character being in a supergroup that does a good bit of roleplaying. We did most of the story arc, stopping just before the final mission, not just because it was late - which it was - but because our characters' supergroup would enjoy joining in on this mission. Then we said goodnight. I made notes in this, as well as working on the auction house and crafting. I also altered my moderately high-level villain supergroup member, which took longer than I should have spent when church is so early the next morning. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 25, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me to Kamana Senior Center, where I have my Ballroom Dancing: Cha-Cha class. I was one of the first ones there. Class was so different than last week. I started dancing with a gal, and learned she was trying to learn to lead because she was fed up with strong leads shoving her around. I've been following strong and subtle leads most of my dancing life, and I've paid attention to how they tell me what to do ever since Dad gave me a crash course in how to follow when he caught me doing it wrong after I picked up some bad habits in my P.E. class in Hilo High School. So, I started to teach her to lead: to tell me through gentle pushes and pulls what she wants me to do. We got the first four moves down solidly, leads and all. We've forgotten move five, and moves six and seven were barely started, but we plan to start with five next week. We were too tired to do more after learning and practicing the first four for most of the class. Afterwards, my main nurse came and took me home. That was my exercise for the day. {Smile}

Before going, I called financial adviser. The secretary took my message, and said she'd tell her on Monday. I played Cross Stitch World on the way to and from cha-cha. Then I played more Cross Stitch World and watched videos and browsed the web over lunch shortly after we got home. Next, I wrote up my daily update, with web browsing in a few breaks. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I put stuff up for auction that I'd made during the week, since weekends get better prices, stopping to go to my villain supergroup meeting. My moderately high-level character got promoted to the third rank, the highest most characters get in this group, after talking to the leader, asking if I needed to do something to earn it, and pointing out how long I've been a member. We did the beginning of one of the story arcs held by my moderately high-level character because only four were present, and this looked fun for such a small group. We ended when we were promised a big break-in at the biggest prison in the game. Then we stopped because they wanted to do it with more of the group, since this will be fun for everyone. It will be not sooner than three weeks away, because one gal who was there won't be coming the next two meetings, and we didn't want to cut her out of the fun. Then I sorted out what I got while playing and checked the stuff I'd put up for auction until Dennis said hi. We talked, then teamed up and did a mission we both had before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I tried to get into City of Heroes: Homecoming, but my mind kept wandering, drawing me back to Cross Stitch World and web browsing until I took something for low blood sugar. Then I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and began checking the auctions. Next, I played a low-level character, running around to do talks While doing so, I got invited by someone I don't think I know to run a low-level trial. I joined them and ran it. Then I found Dennis asking about teaming up in City of Heroes: Homecoming though Discord, the chat server. I got together with him in the game on the moderately high-level villain supergroup member, and we ran a few missions from different story arcs with a variety of villains until it was quite late for him, by him choice. After he left, I worked on the auction house, including crafting new stuff my character had picked up for it. Then I finished running one character through the tutorial and getting her out. I accidentally left before she finished getting a badge. There are only a few other ways to get it but I'll just have to work on that. I finished the evening by making notes in this while checking characters one last time. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 24, 2025

On Thursday I had my counselling right after breakfast. We had a good session. She had a particularly good suggestion in case I run into another bully online. At the end we arranged to meet again next week. I expect to go to every other week soon, but not quite yet. {Smile}

I didn't get any exercise, but between Zumba Gold the day before and ballroom dance: cha-cha expected the next day, I hope I'm covered. {Smile}

After my counselling I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web right through lunch. After lunch, I wrote up Wednesday's daily update before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Soon, Pierogies said hi. We teamed up, and Kitten joined us. The three of us did a few missions fighting the cultists who associate with demons and spirits. Kitten went quiet during the last mission. Then Pierogies said goodbye and left after the last mission. Soon, someone invited me to a team out of the blue. It was significantly higher level than my character, but that means a little better reward. (They scale rewards to your current level, not the level of the team, so it's not a lot more.) After a couple of missions, the leader left. A new leader did several missions fighting powerful people from an alternate dimension. They left and the team broke up so close to dinner, I didn't get into anything new after that. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and watched videos. Then I made notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. After some paperwork, Dennis said hi and we teamed up. I found the character doing the story arc about the origin of power with all the talk-missions. I tried to read quickly through the rest of the talks. Then we did the one regular mission at the end, fighting that cult with the demons and spirits. After that, we did a few of my missions in a story arc where we helped spies against spies working for an international group that tries to control more than one country's politics from behind the scenes. Then I wound down with paperwork before shifting to Cross Stitch World. Next, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I ran the talks in that story arc about the various origins of power on another character, so I don't have to make them wait while I read. Then I worked on for some badges with much to read in the new zone on my best badge collector. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 23, 2025

On Wednesday, I did not have a repeat of the trouble that made me think staying home was desirable, so in the late afternoon my main nurse took my down to Zumba Gold. I got there slightly early, so I had time to visit with a few gals before it started. I enjoyed the talk, and the class after it started. The dancing is fun. You just try to imitate the teacher, and don't worry if it's not quite the same. After class, my main nurse took me home, with one errand on the way. That was my exercise for the day. {Smile}

After breakfast, I took a nap. Then I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World until I started writing up Tuesday's daily update after lunch. Well, with browsing the web and reading web comics during breaks. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I ended up doing a lot of paperwork, since no one I particularly like to get together with was there when I checked, and some paperwork had piled up. That took me up to Zumba Gold, with dinner following when we got home. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed the web and played Cross Stitch World before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. Soon Dennis said hi, and we teamed up. We started a story arc about learning where superpowers come from, but it was mostly talks, and I do like to read everything, which is a little boring for Dennis. So, when Phonso invite me and whoever I was with, Dennis and I dropped everything to join him. Phonso recruited a team, and we fought those body-modding anarchists, and in one mission the Nazis of confused heritage. We saved the city's power supply from the body-modding anarchists. During this Dr. Faustus said hi, and offered to join us for a strike force Phonso planned to do next. In it, we fought a variety of villains over some crystals with psychic powers. After that, the team broke up, and Phonso and Dennis left. Dr. Faustus and I teamed up and tried to do a surrealistic mission that just didn't work for us. He thinks it's meant to be solo, since his character couldn't do anything to help me as mission holder. I didn't know what to do anyway, so we stopped, and did a mission that finished a story arc about the doctors who work on the body modding anarchists. Then Dr. Faustus and I talked on Discord, the chat server. I also wrote up notes for this and squeezed in a little Cross Stitch World. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 22, 2025

On Tuesday before breakfast, I called my doctor's office to tell them the symptoms that bothered me the day before and over the past weekend. Then after breakfast my relief nurse said he'd found someone to pick up any medication for me as long as they could get it before lunch. Just after he said that, my doctor's office called to tell me what medication they were prescribing. I warned them we needed it by lunch. They promised they'd already sent it. So, I called the pharmacy and warned them we'd need it before lunch, apologizing for the rush order. They promised it would be ready. the owner of the nursing company brought it over later in the morning. {Smile}

I missed my creative writing class. I felt that getting the thing with my doctor and medicine settled while staying close to the plumbing was desirable. Also, I didn't do any exercise, but I hope to be back to Zumba Gold late Wednesday afternoon, and I did get a full 1 1/2 hours of line dancing the day before. {Smile}

Around calling my doctor and getting the medicine, I browsed the web, played Cross Stitch World, and read web comics until lunch. After lunch, I wrote up Monday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and made sure some paperwork was done an most characters played recently, as well as one I wanted to play in the teen supergroup. She's a human mage who feels less like a bully target than the halfling I've been playing in our meetings. The group seemed to like her. We did a player-made story arc by a player new to making these. We were helping local Nazis against Nazis from a different dimension. It seemed odd to help Nazis and is really not sitting well with me now. It seems like all too good a character study of how basically decent people can get drawn into groups doing things that aren't at all good. However, that's what they wrote, and in support of a new writer, that's what we did. The first mission couldn't complete, so we went out, and they changed the goals. We completed it the second time and did a few more missions right into dinnertime, with one more mission to go after we completed the one that I was doing when I was first called

I left to eat dinner anyway and got back in time to help them complete it without rushing through my dinner. After the mission, we roleplayed for quite a while, with folks heading off to bed as they got tired. Then I started these notes. Dennis and I talked a bit during the roleplaying, as did Dr. Faustus and me. I got together with Dennis and Kitten afterwards. Dennis was working on a badge that improves the character a good bit that my new supergroup member needs, too. We picked a mission fighting those steampunk racists with both soldiers and robots. We set it for quickest results, even though that was hard, and ran it twice without quite completing it either time, so we could reset it and do it again. Dennis got the badges he wanted the second time through, and I made good progress, but need at least one more time. Then we talked before Dennis left for bed. After that, Kitten helped me with a different badge that improves the character less, and I got it. Then we ran three missions against the mafia, completing a contact of mine. I tried to test the change to my character and proved that the mafia just isn't as hard for us to fight as the steampunk racists. Then I finished my notes in this, with a little web browsing. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 21, 2025

On Monday, my relief nurse took me to my First Timer's Line Dancing class. There, I learned that they aren't at a different location next week like they thought they would be. I also had a really fun class, though our teacher was out. Some of the students took over, mainly a fellow I think I'm getting acquainted with. That class was my main exercise. After class, a gal and I waited for my relief nurse. She wanted to tell him about next week's venue change. He was late, but when he got there, she told him. So that should be settled. {Smile}

Then I went with my relief nurse to run an errand, but his truck broke down on the way. He said I should call Uber, and have them take me home, but they tried to charge me over $50 for a trip that's usually around $20. Then they cut it back to closer to $45, but I wanted a better option. I checked Lyft. They were willing to take me for only $20 if I waited 15-30 minutes with a warning that waits were long. So don't count on either, especially the short one. I called Alan next, since he gave me his number if I wanted to arrange a ride without Uber or Lyft. He was picking someone up but could come after that. It was still a fairly long wait. My relief nurse wanted me to travel with the secretary of the nursing company, who he'd called, but I was looking forward to seeing Alan by that point. It's been months since I've seen him. The wait was longer than I hoped, but he did come and get me eventually... just as the secretary go there to help our relief nurse, actually. Alan took me straight home, and sure enough, we caught up with each other on the way. {Smile}

I got myself a late lunch when I got home. I was still eating when the gal who's helping me through the Daughters of the King discernment came. We had a good visit, and a good session, too, getting through another chapter. She left not long before my relief nurse came back after dealing with both the errands and the tow truck. Yes, his truck is in the shop now. They hope they'll fix it soon but make no promises. {Smile}

Next, I worked quite a while at trying to set up autopay for my cell phone, either on the phone or online. Eventually, I gave up but managed to pay this month's bill. That gives me a grace period to get autopay worked out. {Smile}

After that, I fixed up my pills for the week. I don't usually mention it, but usually I have time to do it sooner than late Monday afternoon. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and worked on paperwork until dinner. I chatted with Dennis on Discord, the chat server I use, while doing the paperwork. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Sunday's daily update and read quite a few web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and worked on paperwork until Dr. Faustus said hi. I found out that he was doing a story arc my younger Hobbit - the teen supergroup member - has been wanting to do. We started to catch me up. Kitten joined us after a couple of missions. About the time I caught up, Phonso invited us to a taskforce. We finished the mission we'd just started before we teamed up with him. Then we ran the taskforce with the team Phonso recruited. Then the others left, including Phonso, and Kitten, Dr. Faustus and I finished the story arc we'd been working on before the taskforce. After that, Dr. Faustus and I roleplayed my character asking about his character's backstory while I made notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 20, 2025

On Sunday, in the wee hours of the morning, I actually got to bed only a little later than my target time. Then I got up on target time, despite failing to remember to reset the alarm until it was entirely too late. So, I just rested and checked the clock often until it was time to get up. {Smile}

After breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. We got there shortly before the prayers of the people, and the service ended not long after that because we didn't have communion. I'm happy that I got to sit with Auntie Barbara and my main nurse. Afterwards, I had lunch on the lanai. I ate the main course with my main nurse and some other parishioners. including BJ, and older woman whom I'm getting closer to through Daughters of the King. Then I had dessert with Autie Barbara and some others. I enjoyed talking with her, and them. Next, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

I didn't get any exercise, but between walking around Prince Kuhio Plaza the day before, and my line dancing class expected the next day, I hope to be fine. {Smile}

On my way to and from church, I played Cross Stitch World. Then when I got home, I played some more Cross Stitch World, browsed on the web, and read web comics before I wrote up Saturday's daily update. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and did lots of paperwork. I talked with Pierogies in the game, but he left, promising to come back, rather than ream up just then. So, I continued doing the paperwork. Then I got out the character I hope will get to the end game next. I ran through some talks, and a hunt for mystical, evil carnival show people and aliens from an alternate dimension. Then I did some more paperwork until Pierogies came back. I stopped and we teamed up for talks and a hunt for those Nazis of confused heritage. We ended right at dinnertime. {Smile}

After dinnertime, I browsed on the web and Amazon and made notes in this and played Cross Stitch World before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming.  I worked on paperwork until Dr. Faustus said hi. As we were teaming up, Kitten said hi, and joined us, too. Dr. Faustus and me on the characters who were working in a particularly ravaged part of a post-apocalyptic dimension. We did a couple of missions for a fairly new contact. We fought evil psychics, and possessed soldiers and psychics, and the creatures that possessed them. As we got ready to start another mission, Phonso invited us to the last of those long taskforces based in those surrealistic dimensions. We joined it, as did a friend of Dr. Faustus. who bowed out when his character waws too low-level but came back when I invited him to bring someone higher. We finished the taskforce, and the others left. So, I did more paperwork and made notes in this. Talking with Dr. Faustus on Discord, that chat server I use, filled out the evening. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 19, 2025

 On Saturday before lunch, it was rainy enough, my main nurse took me down to the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens, where I picked out a chocolate fudge popsicle. I ate it on the way to Prince Kuhio Plaza, finishing it before we got there. So, we went right in, mainly to walk around. My one notable stop was at Enjoy Comics. My main nurse was surprised they're still open, but I think I heard that the lease runs out next month, possibly at the end of it. In there I found a few books of interest, including a copy of the beginning of the ElfQuest series. I checked, but the owner said it was the original version, which my parents gave me when I was in high school, and I definitely kept. So, I didn't get it, just a few other things. Then we walked back to the car, for around half an hour of walking. {Smile}

That walk around Prince Kuhio. Plaza was my exercise for the day. {Smile}

On the way out to the ice cream parlor, I played Cross Stitch World. Then I had my popsicle while going over to Prince Kuhio Plaza. I talked with my main nurse and played Cross Stitch World on the way home. When we got back, I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World right over lunch. Then I wrote up Friday's daily update before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming to do some paperwork. I broke to clean myself up with the help of my main nurse. Afterwards, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming for a little more paperwork before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I began making these notes. Then I checked Discord and let a few friends there know I was heading over to City of Heroes: Homecoming, which I did. Soon, Dennis said hi. We teamed up and started to do missions with me on the moderately high-level character I hope to get to the end game next. Rav joined us a mission or two before we finished a contact who kept us fighting that steampunk group with both robots and soldiers. This time all the robots were steampunk; none of them were modern. Next, Dennis left. Rav and I did an individual mission Rav had in the newly complete zone, fighting resistance fighters from an alternate dimension before Rav left too. Soon after that, Dr. Faustus said hi, and I joined him. We roleplayed one of my Hobbits learning that one of his characters is the nephew and adopted son of two other characters of his that she knows. It's nice to realize he has a family of characters. I have a few families like that. Then we started to do the next story arc on that Hobbit, when I remembered he'd had me do something else to get special dialog hen we did this a few months ago on another character. If we help the character in another dimension first, the next contact recognizes me when we meet again, remembering me from before. So, Dr. Faustus and I did that story arc together, and a solo mission follow-up that I had to do alone. After that, Dr. Faustus had to go. I made notes in this and read a few web comics before heading to bed early-for-me in hopes of getting a decent amount of sleep before going to church early tomorrow morning. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 18, 2025

 On Friday, I was slow getting ready, However, my main nurse still got me to my Ballroom: Cha-Cha dance early enough to pay for the quarter before the class actually began. I did manage to watershed the three most basic steps I learned last week. I also attempted to learn the next few steps on my own, but each time, well-meaning women stepped in to dance with me, since I didn't have a partner, we'd do the steps, but not the way the instructor showed, since not a single one of them knew the lead's - usually the man's - steps. They all knew the follow's steps - usually the woman's - but not one knew how to help another follow learn the follow's steps. I got the instructor to show me a couple of times. He knew what to do to get someone who knows how to follow a lead to do the right thing. However, the women "helped" me again just as I was beginning to get the hang of it on my own after he left. One even told me that I need to stop worrying about the steps, and just dance. Great advice... when you're out on the town and dancing socially. When you're in a formal class, trying to learn the basics so you can make things work on the dance floor when you're out on the town... not so much. {sigh}

After class, my main nurse came to pick me up and commented about how few people where there. I thought about it and realized that the instructor switched back and forth between teaching the beginners and the intermediates a couple of times. Each time, some students left. I explained this to the nurse, who still thinks it must not be that fun a class. I tend to agree, not because of that, but because of having 3 or 4 different teachers, each of whom is not doing the same step the same way. That is exhausting and mind numbing to try to sort out when I'm just trying to learn the basics. Still, I'll try to stick it out this quarter. I did suggest -- and my main nurse approves of -- checking out classes at another place next break between the quarters. With three dance classes and creative writing already, I don't think this is the time to take on more. {smile}

I think I did get plenty of exercise at cha-cha, despite getting confused. {Smile}

When we got home from the cha-cha class, I had lunch while I browsed on the web and read web comics. This continued right into the afternoon. Then I chatted on Discord, the chat server I use, before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did some paperwork before going to the villain supergroup meeting. When I got there, they quickly decided to run a high-level taskforce that my moderately high-level member can run. The taskforce's leader recruited a few more to fill the team, and we ran it together. Then they broke up, and I wrote up and shared Thursday's daily update before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed on the web and read web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did a little paperwork, and soon I teamed up with Kitten to finish a story arc and most of the rest of a contact my teen supergroup member had. The story arc and other missions mostly dealt with a group of evil cultists, and occasionally a different group of evil cultists that they both compete and cooperate with. Phonso joined us for most of it, which was great. My adopted cousin Radio joined the team, but just to more safely scout out locations to use as models in his art. A lower-level toon couldn't go as many places without being teamed to someone higher. After a while he left. Phonso, Kitten and I continued to team until Phonso left around the end of that contact. Kitten and I continued with a second contact, this one concerned with a local mafia family. We even started on a story arc involving that mafia family. Then kitten admitted to being tired and went quiet. I relaxed with paperwork an browsing the web. Then I tried to write a proposal for a different character to play in the teen supergroup for Ulty to consider. I finished the evening making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 17, 2025

 On Thursday, right after breakfast, I had my first counselling session in about a month, because that's almost how long my counsellor's vacation lasted. It went well. She helped me process the bullying a little better, among other stuff. {Smile}

Then in the afternoon, my main nurse took me to my doctor. He went over my blood tests with us, showing how the numbers are hanging pretty steady. Some went up a little, but nothing alarming, he assured us. He is very happy with how I'm doing. After that, we picked up some prescriptions and groceries at Safeway before my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

My only exercise was some walking at the doctor's and Safeway, but I think that's enough. Between Zumba Gold the day before, and ballroom dance; cha-cha the day after, I think I can afford a light day. {Smile}

After counselling, I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World. Then I took some migraine medicine before I had lunch, browsing the web some more while I ate. After lunch, I lay down for a short nap before going to my doctor because the night before was late again. After we got back, I browsed the web some more. and read some web comics. Then my main nurse helped me clean myself up before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Wednesday's daily update, with breaks to read a few more web comics. Then I chatted a little on the chat server (I use Discord) before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. There I quickly met Dennis. We tried to get together with Dr. Faustus and succeed in getting together with Phonso. We did some missions with the steampunk army that has automatons both steampunk and modern. Some of the missions were Dennis's, and one might have been mine. Then Phonso and Dennis left, and I talked with Ulty and Jenny's player as they were leaving for the night. After that, I got together with Dr. Faustus, who helped me with another story arc my moderately low-level villain had, involving competing with other villains. Then Dr. Faustus and I chatted about future plans before we started another story arc. In this one, I talked with the former competitors and other up and coming villains while investigating a guy who was converting them into heroes surprisingly - and suspiciously - effectively. One of the big villains had hired me to investigate his operation. I did so while wearing protection against psychic control, which I got confirmation that he was trying to use. After the first mission of that story arc, we said goodnight, and I wrote this up with breaks for chatting on Discord and browsing on the web. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 16, 2025

On Wednesday, I was feeling kind of blah except for being upset about the talk of the "fun" of bullying my teen supergroup member and other characters because they were small and cute the night before. So, I thought about that and browsed the internet through the morning, and right through lunch and into the afternoon. Finally, I took a nap a while after lunch - longer than I meant, but this nurse insisted I needed it. I did feel a little better as I woke up. Then I browsed on the web a little more. I finally felt up to going into City of Heroes: Homecoming, but not to really play yet. I just made a new costume for a character I've been thinking about more since the bullying encounter. {smile}

Then I got going just in time for my main nurse to get me down to my Zumba Gold class very slightly early. The class went well. Afterwards, he took me back home, praising me for making the effort to go when it's been obviously a bad day. I was a bit surprised he noticed, considering it involved mostly looking at the computer, which good days do, too. {Smile}

When we got home, I had dinner before I got back onto my computer. There, I browsed the web and wrote up Tuesday's daily update. Then I checked and answered stuff on the chat server before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started by tweaking that costume some more. Then I said hi to Ulty and Jenny's player, and talked with Ulty about the bullying, and about wanting to give the teen supergroup member a break. I also suggested that I could try another character, who I'd just finished making a new costume for. She'll check the costume out another time. It's technically mage robes, not a superhero costume. She wants everyone to have superhero costumes, though my current character is exempted from that rule. I certainly don't know what do make as a costume that suits her background more than her regular clothes. Anyway, we'll see if this other character's new mage robes are close enough to a costume for her. Then Dr. Faustus said hi. I told him about the bullying as we teamed up. We did two contacts, with three story arcs between them, all on my moderately low villain supergroup member and his main character in the same supergroup. They were my mission; I think the character he used is pretty much done with first time content. Then I worked up these notes, with breaks for browsing the web and playing Cross Stitch World. I also chatted with Kitten on the chat server before going to bed a bit late. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 15, 2025

 After breakfast, my relief nurse took me down to the monthly meeting, which was again a picnic. I enjoyed seeing everyone and telling them about my new classes. That turned into an announcement when I tried to tell the leader. {Smile}

My relief nurse came early to pick me up and take me to creative writing. where I had to admit I'd done everything except the requested writing.  I also misunderstood the assignments. and felt more than a little uncomfortable with the emphasis on memoirs. Fiction is officially allowed, but memoirs are taught. That's awkward for me as a fiction writer. Afterwards, my relief nurse came and took me home. {Smile}

After dinner, I got a call from Auntie Barbara. It was nice to hear from her and talk with her as well. {Smile}

When I got back from the trip out, I had lunch. Then I browsed on the web before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming a bit before the supergroup meeting. I pretty badly messed up during that meeting. To his and my disappointment, Dr. Faustus is unlikely to join the group because of a situation I caused without meaning to, but that doesn't change much. I did begin to learn what I'd done wrong through talking with the leader on the chat server. Eventually, Dr. Faustus left, and I followed him. We roleplayed, then started my character on a long series of story arcs in a very messed up part of an alternate dimension. Dr. Faustus and I stopped mid-mission when he suggested doing so, so I could go eat dinner.

After dinner, I learned more about what I did wrong. I also wrote up Monday's daily update with few breaks and began chatting with Nox on the chat server. This continued occasionally through much of the evening. I want into City of Heroes: Homecoming and got back together with Dr. Faustus to continue the mission. Dennis joined us, and we finished the mission more easily. Then we continued the story line into the next arc. Kitten and Pierogies joined us too, and we did the next story arc, the one after that, and much of the one after that, though folks left at various points in the last two arcs. Pierogies left first, then Dennis. Then Kitten faded out. Then Dr. Faustus suggested ending, and we did. I meant to do only a little paperwork, but I ran into a stranger who complimented my character, liking the look and the connection to Middle Earth in its background, which was fine. I even mentioned my other Hobbit, and my gnomes. However, he then proceeded to talk about how fun it would be to bully such cute little characters, which was pretty uncomfortable. It was uncomfortable enough I kept at the paperwork long after he left as a way to cool down and haven't been feeling like myself since. I have too many memories of bad bully problems for this to sit well. Eventually, I made notes in this, with a small break for Cross Stitch World. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 14, 2025

On Monday before breakfast, a major search for the handouts for my Creative Writing class eventually found them in a folder after I'd looked a fair while. I also found the supplies the teacher asked for, which I put with them. So that was ready for the writing class, though I didn't fit in the type of writing I thought they wanted.

After breakfast, my relief nurse took me to Hilo Daijingu for my line dancing class. That was fun. A few of the folks who teach a dance or are better dancers complimented me on my dancing, which was great. I feel like I'm starting to get the dances. Afterwards, my relief nurse took me home again. {Smile}

Then a while after lunch the gal came for the Daughters of the King discernment a little late. We made good progress, finishing the long chapter that we couldn't finish last time, and doing one more chapter, too. {Smile}

My exercise was line dancing and a few mini-Kegels. That should be good enough. {Smile}

After I got home from line dancing, I had lunch. Then I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World until discernment. After discernment, I browsed the web some more. Then I played a little Cross Stitch World before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Kitten said hi, and we teamed up with me on the character they designed for me, and them on their version of it. We started a mission and were surprised with how much trouble we had at the beginning. Kitten was disappointed to realize they hadn't really fixed up the character like they'd designed. However, Dennis came in and joined us. It was easier with three than with just two. We were surprised it was dinnertime for me when we finished, but okay. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Sunday's daily update with Cross Stitch World and browsing the web as breaks. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten, who had a different character with a very similar name, so I didn't realize it was different at first. It was, and easier to play with. We did a story arc built around those high-tech pirates that revealed some links they had that aren't common knowledge. Dennis joined us partway through. Then Phonso invited us to a taskforce near the end, and Rav joined us just as the fighting stopped. After the fighting, I answered Phonso while Dennis and Kitten realized they really needed to sleep and say goodbye. Anhela and I joined Phonso. I tried to get Dr. Faustus to join, but the team filled. Then someone dropped out, and Dr. Faustus took their place. We ran the taskforce. Then Phonso and Dr. Faustus said goodnight, and I got the character that Kitten designed, and did a series of hunts to fight the mafia, the Asian tattoo-loving gang, and those Nazis of confused heritage until I quit to make notes in this with a couple of short breaks, one for Cross Stitch World. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 13, 2025

On Sunday I found a note from Auntie Barbara when I woke up. She explained to my main nurse and me that she wouldn't be in church this week, due to a conflict, but hopes to see us next week. Then after breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. We sat in Dad's parents' pew, since I knew we couldn't sit with Auntie Barbara. It was a nice service. {Smile}

After that, we had lunch. I didn't eat on the lanai with my main nurse, but in the Cook Room with most of the Daughters of the King for their first official monthly meeting. They chose it to get a little more privacy there, though others did come in and out. they talked of trying for an even more private meeting spot next month.

I didn't really do much exercise beyond mini-Kegels, but dance class the next day should make up for that. {Smile}

In the car to and from church, I played Cross Stitch World. After we got back, I greeted housekeeper, who'd started working while we were gone. Then I settled in and played more Cross Stitch World. I also read web comics and browsed on the web. After a while, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started with paperwork. Then I did that pair of high-level taskforces. They take place in a particularly troubled alternate dimension. After that, I did a taskforce with an awful lot of steampunk robots. Not the robots who work with human soldiers, but a group that's all robots. The taskforce is known for being long and a bit boring, but it was giving special rewards that a character needed, so I did it on him. After that, I did paperwork until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Saturday's daily update, with a break to answer Nox on the chat world, since I'd forgotten to the day before. Then I started notes in this and answered Nox for today. Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. After a while, Phonso said hi. I reached a half decent pause in the paperwork and joined him in a different taskforce in a similar surrealistic alternate dimension to the one last week. I finished more paperwork while starting the taskforce, then concentrated on it. Or rather, I tried to concentrate on it while also trying to keep up with a conversation between Dennis and Kitten on the chat server. I also said goodnight to Nox on the chat server. After the taskforce in a surrealistic dimension, Phonso did a strike force where you help a villain get a powerful magic item. Dr. Faustus joined it too. We ran it with a full team. Then the taskforce broke up, and Phonso left. Dr. Faustus and I got together, and I switched to my moderately low-level villain. We ran several missions where we helped a manager in a villain organization investigate a mad scientist he was assigned to help. He needed someone to investigate on the sly to give himself and us plausible deniability if the wrong folks found out about the investigation. We stopped just before a timed mission. After that, I did some paperwork and made notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 12, 2025

On Saturday before lunch, I discovered I had let one of my library books get a little overdue (it was only a few days late). So, after lunch my main nurse took me to the public library, where I returned all the books I was done with and paid the little fine that had accrued. Then I picked out new books and checked them out. After that, I walked three quarters of the way around the courtyard in the middle of the library. At that point I realized it was blocked off to make a staging area for a Hawaiian music concert which was still getting ready to start. I walked back around, and started to stand near the back, but a man brought me a chair from a nearby table. So, I sat and started to watch the concert. {Smile}

First, we had a piece each from notable distracts and locations around the Big Island, going clockwise, starting at Hilo, where I live. I saw my nurse come, but he clearly didn't see me, so I went to fetch him. He came and watched the concert for a while, but he's fond of rock music, not Hawaiian music, so he left near the end of the tour. I stayed until they finished the tour. Then they got into a story about the next piece that turned out to be long. I went and got my nurse, and he took me to the ice cream parlor in Liliu'okalani Gardens. They were getting ready to close because it was rainy enough, they had few customers, since most are people who walk around the park, and that's mainly in better weather. (This is why I didn't walk around the gardens, myself. I'm also glad I didn't stay for the rest of the concert; they would have closed before I could get a popsicle.) I picked chocolate peanut butter, since they were out of chocolate fudge again. Then my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

Walking around the library a bit and some mini-Kegel exercises were all the exercise I did, but with the dance class yesterday, I hope it won't be a problem. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played Cross Stitch World. I also browsed the web and read web comics. Then before lunch, my main nurse helped me clean myself up. After that, I browsed the web some more. I read web comics and played Cross Stitch World over lunch. Then I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming, but only for paperwork before the trip out. When I got back from going out, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork and soon began to talk with Ulty and Jenny's Player. I also played by myself on the teen supergroup member, going after the Asian gang that loves tattoos, a mafioso family, and that gang that claims to use ancient fighting techniques. After that, I broke to start writing up Friday's daily update and got around halfway done by dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing Friday's daily update. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I began playing by myself on the teen supergroup member's older sister. Then I switched to a character Kitten designed for me. Both these characters are mid-level. Then I switched to a moderately high-level character, but I didn't get far before Dr. Faustus said hi. We teamed up with me on my moderately low-level villain supergroup member. We finished the story arc we'd been working on. Dennis joined us partway through. Both Dennis and I gained a level each - one he wanted, but one I wasn't ready for yet. I quickly prevented that from happening again before I want it, since the next time would be more problematic than this one. I found I'd missed Nox on the chat server but said goodnight to be found in the morning. Dr. Faustus, Dennis and I finished a story arc about competing with other villains that Dennis had. It led into one I'd barely started, so he caught up. Then we did that one too, with Dennis and I both getting full credit. After that, Dennis and Dr. Faustus both left. I did a little paperwork. Then Dragons and their friends invited me to a mid-level mission. After that, we did two quite high-level missions that finished a story arc with a particularly nice reward, although it ran a little late for Sunday, especially when I still had to make notes for today's story arc, but I did that next, with only a brief break for Cross Stitch World, and still got to bed in time to be awake in church the next morning. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 11, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, my main nurse took me down to Kamana Senior Center, where I found the ballroom dance, cha-cha class. The instructor showed us the most basic step and a couple of different but simple steps, including a moving step and a slowly turning step. Then he left us to practice. A guy came over who was alone. I didn't want to claim him when there were a few other gals, and only one guy, but then he started dancing alone, and clearly needed help. I'm pretty new to cha-cha, unless you count the instruction in high school, from a P.E. teacher who knew sports better than dancing. However, I did a fair bit of partner dancing in my teens and twenties, only stopping when my balance got bad. I also got back to dancing similar things solo since my balance improved again. So, I went over and tried to help him. Then some others helped him too, and he and I both got the hang of three basic steps. Then he found a different gal to dance with, so I practiced a variant we hadn't tried on my own, as well as the three we had done until the end of class. I'm concerned that some of the fancier steps that that the instructor did for more advanced students might be beyond me, but I'll concentrate on what I can do as long as they let me. Afterwards, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

That was an hour and a half of dancing, and my main exercise. though I did do some mini-Kegels too. {Smile}

In the car to and from cha-cha, I played Cross Stitch World. Then after we got back from cha-cha, I played more Cross Stitch World, as well as browsed on the web right into lunch. I started writing up my daily update during lunch and continued afterwards, with long break to read several web comics. When I finished my daily update, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I checked my villain supergroup on my moderately low-level villain. No one was there, so I explored the supergroup base until the leader and a gal showed up. Dr. Faustus didn't come because his work needed him. The leader suggested either of a couple of taskforces, but we ended up roleplaying. The gal likes that as much, and I needed some to feel out my moderately high-level villain better. I switched to her after a while on the lower-level one. We roleplayed a good bit more. The leader left first. The other gal and I kept at it until I was called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and made notes in this before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, then played more Cross Stitch World. Then I made more notes in this. After that, I said hi to Ulty, Jenny's player, and Nik, who was in the game to my surprised. I talked particularly with Nik, both in the game and on Discord. Nox joined us on Discord. I also fought the homeless turning into something alien and the gang studying ancient fighting techniques on my teen supergroup member. Then I joined Ulty, Jenny's Player, and their friends in a few individual missions, each built around a moral theme. When the group split up, I did paperwork. Then I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World. I tried to get back into the game and succeeded when Dragons and their friends invited me to a couple of particularly high-level story arcs. Since a few of them had the same ones, they got multiple very nice rewards in a relatively short time. Still, it ran late, so I snuck in notes in this while still playing, then got to bed a bit plate. At least I don't have an early morning the next day. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 10, 2025

On Thursday before lunch, my main nurse took me down to Clinical Labs. I signed in to get my blood tests. They had labs from my cardiologist. but not from my regular physician. Luckily, the office sent them right over when called. I guess they weren't out to lunch yet. We've tried when they were on their lunch break, and I've had to go away without, and come back another day. I'm so glad that didn't happen this time. They took my blood, which was flowing slowly for unknown reasons. Then my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise beyond some mini-Kegels, but between Zumba Gold yesterday and Ballroom Dance; Cha-Cha tomorrow, I hope it won't be a problem. {Smile}

Between breakfast and the trip out, I browsed on the web, played Cross Stitch World, and chatted on the chat server. Then on the trip out, I played Cross Stitch World both in the car and in the waiting room. After I got back, I played Cross Stitch World, browsed on the web, and read web comics right into lunch. During lunch, I started writing my daily update. I took enough breaks the writing ran after lunch, significantly into the afternoon. Then I chatted a little on the chat server. {Smile}

Next, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I teamed up with Pierogies. We were both in the mood for badge hunting, so when I figured out that my best badge collector had a badge he didn't, I got my second-best badge collector for it. While we waited for Kitten to join us, I helped one of Pierogies' characters with a badge. When Kitten joined us, we went after a giant monster in the new zone. We realized we couldn't do it by ourselves. We called for help and got the monster, though I was the leader, and I failed to invite all who wanted to come. We each got a badge (unless we already had it) and other particularly nice rewards (whether we'd gotten them before or not). Aa few others stayed, including a distant friend, who took over leading We did a mission with zombies with extreme body modification. Then we fought a long-established but particularly rewarding giant monster. After that, several left. I switched characters to do a high-level individual mission before my distant friend and a friend of their left. With me leading again, Kitten, Pierogies, one good player on a new character and I did one more similar mission. Then we switched to missions in other dimensions. We fought a lot of robots, many of them steampunk themed, then we fought those body-modifying anarchists before I said goodbye and left for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I chatted on the chat server. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I got out my teen supergroup member and hunted the Asian tattoo-loving gang and the anarchists who love body modification. Then Kitten said hi, and we teamed up. I said hi to Dr. Faustus on the chat server, and he came in and joined us. I switched to my moderately low-level villain supergroup member, and we did two of my favorite story arcs while "on vacation" in the hero section. First, we helped a guy find out how his father died. This involved rescuing his girlfriend a couple of times, since she kept getting caught by a gang of homeless that are gradually being transformed into aliens. Dennis joined us near the end of that story arc. Then we helped a gal by rescuing her father from that same gang. After that, Dennis left. Dr. Faustus, Kitten and I went back to the villain section to start a story arc about a gal searching for information about her brother, who she believes dead. Kitten soon left to rest, and a new friend of Dr. Faustus's joined us who was doing the same arc I was. We got partway through and stopped so I could make notes in this, and the new fellow could get on with his day. While taking notes, I slipped in breaks for web browsing and for minimal paperwork on City of Heroes: Homecoming. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 9, 2025

On Wednesday, late in the afternoon, my main nurse took me down to the butler building. When we got out, we discovered - as I tried to tell him when he turned wrong - that something I'm not involved in was happening there. At least we skipped any earlier detour. We just had to go around the parking lot over to auntie Sally's Luau House. where my Zumba Gold was indeed meeting. I enjoyed dancing with them again, for it is a kind of dance, if one that incorporates more traditional exercise moves, as opposed to traditional dance moves. We stopped a few times for short rests and water and had a toning segment with weights. I checked afterwards, and they'll be meeting there every time. That's different form First Timers Line Dancing, which meets a few times at Hilo Daijungu, which looks like a sort of parish hall of the Shinto shrine. After the class, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

 That was my main exercise of the day, though I did a few mini-Kegels, too. {Smile}

After my main nurse helped me clean up after breakfast, I browsed the web and played Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Tuesday's daily update over lunch and afterwards. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Next, I teamed up with Kitten. We fought some evil cultists holding a university class hostage, some of those high-tech pirates, too, and some of the anarchists who love extreme body modification before I went to Zumba Gold. When I came home from Zumba Gold, I had dinner too quickly to go on the computer first. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and read some web comics. Then I started notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Dennis, Kitten, and Dr. Faustus, with Dennis and me on moderately high-level characters. We fought the magical, troublesome circus folk, and some of those nazis of dubious heritage, and the spider themed villain group, some of them in more than one mission. Then Dennis left, and I picked a couple of missions helping spies fight an international spy group. Then Kitten left for bed. Dr Faustus mentioned my moderately low-level villain supergroup member, but I asked about helping his new teen supergroup members. He got them, and I introduced them to each other. It's always amusing when a player's characters meet for the first time. Then we helped the lower level one with a story arc. After that, he left. I did paperwork. Then I made notes in this, with a break to play Cross Stitch World. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 8, 2025

On Tuesday after breakfast my relief nurse followed the directions on his phone to take me straight to Kamana Senior Center, where I had my first Creative Writing Class in decades. The instructor was a woman who's a professor at the university. She started with some recommended resources. She talked a lot about memoirs, which I didn't think of as creative writing, but okay. they had a break, since it's a two-hour class, but I didn't recognize it until it was over. During it, I answered most of the questions I was supposed to ask someone else and have them ask me back. I was certainly prepared when we interviewed each other. Then the instructor told us what she wants us to do before the next meeting, though she "didn't want to use the "H" word. At the end, I checked, and eating during class is fine. I'm relieved, because it runs right over lunch, and my body is a strict taskmaster about not skipping meals. After class, I found my relief nurse, who took me back home. {Smile}

I didn't get much exercise, just some mini-Kegels, but with a dance class the day before, and another dance class the next day, I think I'll be okay. {Smile}

After class, I settled in on my computer, and connected with Dr. Faustus, who asked which of two characters he should bring. I picked the one my character already knows, and we went to the teen supergroup meeting. We roleplayed, meeting Dr. Faustus's character. Then we helped the police in a high-level zone, which everyone could do. First, we fought magical, evil circus performers, then nazis of debatable heritage, and after them, some and some spider-themed villains, before we broke up a bank robbery. After that, we roleplayed some more. One guy left for bed as usual, and I broke for dinner, but not before getting Dr. Faustus to go back. He thought we were all leaving when it was just us two. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back to group, which was still roleplaying. Then a couple more left, and so did Dr. Faustus again. This let the folks remaining talk about their reactions to his character, which were rather mixed. I suggested they meet his other character. Dr. Faustus switched and brought him, and we talked with him a fair while. Nothing is firm yet, but they want him to come back next week and see how he gets along with the larger group. Near the end, Phonso invited me and whoever I was with to a strike force Dr. Faustus and I switched to the characters we wanted to do it, and we helped a prominent villain and her boss with a bunch of particularly high-tech pirates who were cutting into their business. Both Phonso and Dr. Faustus left afterwards. I did a good bit of paperwork after they left. Then I started notes in this. After a while I broke to catch up on reading web comics. Then I finished notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 7, 2025

On Monday after breakfast, my relief nurse took me down a winding route. He admitted he had taken a wrong turn when we were on a street that we normally don't take to go to Aunty Sally's Luau House, where my line dancing class is supposed to meet most days. Then he ended up at the Butler Building where we sometimes danced last time, despite it being listed as being at Aunty Sally's Luau House. Thankfully, that is close by, in the same complex, so he still got me there in time for my first line dancing class of the quarter. I greatly enjoyed the class but was very glad they went over every song. Even though I kind of remembered them, the refreshers were very helpful. I learned that we're meeting elsewhere next week, and a couple more times later. I made sure my relief nurse knew about the other location when he came back to pick me up and take me home. {Smile}

Then in the afternoon, the gal came for Daughters of the King discernment. We worked through the next chapter, but there were so many quotes, and one... I thought they meant just about the whole book. the gal was satisfied with just a few lines, but I didn't think they made sense, stopping there. WE ended up skipping some readings and have one more section plus the questions to go. I guess this makes up for the times we did more than one chapter. It looks like I have homework reading stuff before the next discernment. {Smile}

Line dancing was my exercise, along with a few mini-Kegels. {Smile}

Both on the way down to line dancing and the way back, I played Cross Stitch World. When we got home, I had lunch. Then I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web until the Daughters of the King discernment, which wasn't a long wait. After the discernment I browsed the web some more before going into City of Heroes Homecoming. After paperwork, I got onto the teen supergroup member and started arresting members of three gangs: one that tries to recreate old-style fighting techniques, the anarchists who love extreme body modification, and an Asian gang with magical tattoos. Then Pierogies said hi, and we teamed up with my teen supergroup member, and one who's teamed with her recently. We fought worshippers of a pantheon of nasty deities. He was tired at the end, so we said goodnight. I'd gained a level in that mission, so trained before I went back to hunting for those three gangs' members until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Sunday's daily update with a few short breaks. The new focus on the stories and characters in City of Heroes holds my interest better. When that was done, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I talked with Ulty and Jenny's player and said goodnight to Nyxy as I continued hunting the old-style fighters, the anarchists with extreme body modifications, and the Asian tattoo lovers until Dr. Faustus said hi just as Phonso invited me to a taskforce. I arranged for Dr. Faustus and me to do one with him, picking the more rewarding taskforce he mentioned. Phonso recruited a team, and we ran a long taskforce in a rather surreal zone where asteroids act like islands, but only on the top side. The sky is all orange there, too. After that, Phonso left, and Dr. Faustus and I did a story arc where my moderately low-level supergroup member helped a secret club before joining it at the end. I think everyone else in the supergroup already belongs to it. With that, I almost gained a level. Then he helped me finish gaining that level. He tried to help me start a favorite story arc, but I was too tired to enjoy it like I want to when we do it. So, we said goodnight. Then I made notes in this with minimal web browsing. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 6, 2025

On Sunday, I got up early, as planned. Then my main nurse took me to church right after breakfast. We got there in time to hear a good part of the sermon. We found Auntie Barbara and sat with her. It was a nice service. {Smile}

Afterwards, we had... I want to say lunch on the lanai, but there was very little protein, and limited fruits and vegetables, especially for someone who has to avoid onions like I do, so it really wasn't a full lunch. We still had lots of food. I touched bases with a couple of the gals in Daughters of the King, but I sat with Auntie Barbara and my main nurse, along with others. Auntie Barbara and I were thinking of visiting Charlotte. but when Auntie Barbara called, she was busy. She was free later, but Auntie Barbara lives too far out of town to go home and come back. We're hoping to do something in the week, or maybe next week. After we ate, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

I didn't do much exercise, though at least I got some mini-Kegels done. {Smile}

On the way to church, I watched the scenery. On the way back from church, I played Cross Stitch World, which I continued for a while after I got home. My nurse got me some stuff to supplement the food at church, so I finished lunch. Then I wrote up my daily update. I'm trying a shift in focus in my update, hoping to make the part about the games I play more interesting. Comments and suggestions would be welcome in this.  {Smile}

Anyway, after that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with a lot of paperwork and tried to get folks attention. Failing that, I researched and altered an old character I hope will fit into the villain supergroup, thought he more I think about what I figured out fits her, the less certain I am that this will work. Anyway, I altered her costume to look like the type of character I thought they'd be in the family of games the villain supergroup is based on. Next, Ulty invited me to a mission where four people act out the exciting parts in two movies. I did it on the character I'd altered with no trouble, getting all the badges, since this was her first time, and we did pretty well. After that, we said goodbye. I went back to paperwork until Kitten and Pierogies said hi. We teamed up with me on the teen supergroup member and started fighting the anarchists who like extreme body modification. She actually gained a level! I also set up a couple more contacts. Then we got invited to hunt a minotaur in a particularly high-level zone. Pierogies left, but Kitten and I joined the group after I switched to my best badge collector. However, I didn't get anywhere despite trying before I got called to dinner. {smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and notes in this. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I set up a couple more contacts for the teen supergroup member. Then I did paperwork and looked around. I talked with Ulty, Jenny's Player, and Nyxy. Then Dr. Faustus said hi. We teamed up with me on my little villain and continued working for a Russian scientist against a small group that gives him big trouble. We finished that story arc, despite running a little late. Dr. Faustus sped up the ending by breaking team, and finishing them off at level 50, which was far faster. Then I made notes in this while I talked with Dr. Faustus on the chat server, Discord. After that, I fixed up pills for the week before going to bed early-for-me. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 5, 2025

 On Saturday, after lunch, my main nurse too me down to Liliu'okalani Gardens. We walked around for a full forty minutes, stopping for popsicles when we got to the Ice Cream Parlor. I tried their Chocolate Mocha, in part because chocolate fudge was out. I could have had chocolate peanut butter, but I figured it was good time to try chocolate mocha. The notable coffee flavor was expected, but not my favorite. Still, it's chocolate, so I'll probably have it again occasionally. After we got back to the car, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

That walk was my exercise for the day, or my main exercise. I also did a few mini-Kegel exercises. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed the web, but mostly I played Cross Stitch World until lunch. I wrote my daily update over and after lunch, then too the trip out, with Cross Stitch World both on way down and way back. When we get back, I played a little more Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I tried to get Kitten's attention looked around. I spotted an especially tough version of a taskforce that goes back in time to discover that Nazis who've gone back in time manipulate a governor in ancient Rome. They promised an extra badge only available in the harder versions of the taskforce. My best badge collector didn't have it, so I joined it on her. We had to restart and lost the toughest character after starting the second time, and proving to them it really was tougher. We continued. I stayed even when my main nurse called me to dinner, until we finished the third mission. The leader and a friend of the leader insisted we couldn't finish the last mission, though others wanted to continue. So, I apologetically explained that it was over half an hour since I'd been called to dinner and left to eat dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I made notes in this. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Next, I started saying hi to friends. Kitten, Dr. Faustus and Dennis said hi to me very close together. I teamed up with Dennis easily Kitten was with Jag, so adding them took a little longer. Dr. Faustus declined because he was helping a new player. Dennis, Kitten, Jag and I did two missions fighting some nazis together. Then Jag left. Dennis, Kitten and I did another mission or two. Somewhere in the 3-4 missions we did, we shifted from fighting Nazis to fighting a particularly corrupt corporation. Then Dennis left, Kitten and I joined Dr. Faustus. with me switching to the teen SG member's slightly older sister and helped him and the new player fight some anarchists into extreme body modification. Then the new player and I both made a transition to a post-apocalyptic alternate dimension. The new player left. I switched to the moderately low-level villain member, and we did some missions of hers, do errands for a less than ethical biologist. Dragons joined us then left again when they couldn't get Dr. Faustus to add a friend of theirs while he was busy fighting. After that, Kitten and Dr. Faustus regretfully left, and I joined Dragons and their friend on a fairly high-level hero for several missions, mostly fighting particularly tough villains of that post-apocalyptic dimension, some very quick. Then I left to do some paperwork, followed by making notes in this, with pauses for web browsing. I went to bed somewhat early because I knew church was starting early the next morning. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 4, 2025

Friday was Independence Day int eh United States, including Hawai'i, where I live. I hope you had a happy fourth of July. If you didn't celebrate it, I hope you had a good day. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise. Between the walking around two large stores that I did on Thursday, and our usual walk around Liliu'okalani Gardens that my main nurse and I usually do on Saturday, I hope a day off won't be too bad. Besides, next week I start two dance classes, which should take care of any problems with insufficient exercise for the next nine weeks. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web until I gave up on being productive without more sleep and went to take a nap. I'd gone to bed late the night before, because of all the help Dr. Faustus gave me in helping my moderately low-level villain supergroup member settle into the group and feel more comfortable with them. I had lunch immediately after the nap while browsing the web some more and playing more Cross Stitch World. a little later, I began writing up my daily update. Before I finished, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then I checked around and said hi to Kitten. We teamed up and did one or two individual missions on my teen supergroup member, getting her roughly half-way to the next level before Kitten admitted to being too tired to continue. They went to rest, hoping to be back. {Smile}

I did some more paperwork, then checked on the villain supergroup through a group they have on the chat server. Only Dr. Faustus and I were available. He wanted to talk through the chat server - yes, it's possible to do voice over it - a little later in the afternoon. In the meantime, I joined a group doing the pair of high-level taskforces. After that, I did more paperwork, and tried talking with Dr. Faustus on the chat ser. However, between low fidelity in our connection and my severe hearing loss, I asked to switch to text, which worked better for me. We began working out details about two of my characters, the moderately low-level villain supergroup member. This involved reading up on a game the group started out being based on... well, kind of. The group was specifically based on the vampire part at first, but i found better answers for my characters in the part on the fey - the magical people. This took me right up to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World, then finished writing up Thursday's daily update before I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then someone invited me to that pair of high-level taskforces. I ran it with them. Dr, Faustus said hi near the end. I teamed up with him afterwards. We finished two mostly done contacts for my moderately low-level villain. She has one more before I want her to go up a few levels. Then Dr. Faustus left to deal with work, suggesting I join a taskforce, which I did. Afterwards, I did paperwork and made notes in this, getting to bed a little late, but not as bad as the previous night. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 3, 2024

On Thursday, late in the morning, my main nurse took me down to Safeway to get prescriptions and a sandwich for lunch. I discovered my phone needed recharging while waiting for my main nurse to finish shopping and check out. I'd finished draining it to dim playing Cross Stitch World but did manage to finish the color I was working on with it dim. Next, we went to Target, as we'd already planned. I picked up two charger plugs and one cord. Then I picked out a couple of books while waiting for my nurse to finish shopping. After that, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

My exercise was walking around Safeway and Target, and between the stores and back. It was actually a fair bit of exercise. Most drive between the stores, though they technically share a parking lot, because it's not shaded, let alone air conditioned, and Target's door is on the far side of a big store from Safeway. {Smile}

Before the trip out, I browsed on the web, played a little Cross Stitch World, and read web comics. After the trip out, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed the web right over a late lunch. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I noticed someone running that pair of high-level taskforces and joined them to run it with the team they formed. After a little more paperwork, I joined the later long, large-group event. Pierogies said hi, but we'd filled before he tried to join, and when a spot opened up, he was already busy. However, we teamed up afterwards, along with Dr. Faustus, and they helped my teen supergroup member one of her last missions before gaining a few levels done. I hoped it was the very last, but I discovered another mission before she goes up, and can't promise that's the last, either. Anyway, it was dinnertime already, so I said good night to Pierogies, and see you later to Dr. Faustus. {Smile}

After dinner. I wrote up Wednesday's daily update, with breaks to browse on the web. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started with paperwork. Next, I chatted with Ulty, Jenny's Player and Nyxy. After that, I teamed up with Dr. Faustus. However, as we were getting going, Phonso invited us to pair of high-level taskforces. We joined him and ran them with the team he recruited. Afterwards, Dr. Faustus and I ran through the rest of a moderately low-level contact and continued a second contact. Then we roleplayed, and got my new, moderately low-level villain supergroup member settled in, with me slipping in hasty notes in this while we did. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 2, 2025

 On Wednesday, before supper, my main nurse took me down to Hilo High School. They had a Jazz Band that was having a little concert about an hour long, more-or-less. My nurse's daughter had a trumpet solo in one of the later pieces. I thought she did very well all of the kids did, really. I enjoyed it. It's been too long since I've gone to a concert. Mom, Dad, and I used to go often, until Dad couldn't keep his legs down that long, and Mom couldn't wait that long to use the bathroom. We tried to figure out a way for me to go, but it was easier to just stay home than to figure out a place to wait safely. {smile}

Exercise included mini-Kegels, and walking around Hilo High School. It wasn't as much as some days, but the stairs at Hilo High School were more difficult than any stairs I encounter often, partly because they lacked regular railings. I got some pretty good practice with them. I think I need more stair practice. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played cross Stitch World, browsed on the web, and read web comics right through the morning and lunch. After lunch, I wrote up Tuesday's daily update and cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then Pierogies said hi. We teamed up quickly and did a mission to make sure it fit before the concert. I think we did a second mission. Dennis said hi right at the end and joined us. He wanted to play more, but I was tight on time. Still, we finished a hunt and started a second hunt before I had to leave for the concert. After the concert, I had dinner when i got home. {Smile}

After dinner, I chatted on the chat server and played Cross Stitch World. Then I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I said hi and talked a bit with Ulty, Jenny's Player, and Nyxy. Then I did a high-level individual mission by myself on a high-level character. As I was finishing, Dennis said hi. He joined me right after that mission, and we did two more missions of the same type together. It was a bit hard, but we managed and actually got better. Then we discussed switching to moderately low-level characters, but Dennis spotted Phonso advertising a pair of high-level taskforces. We joined him and ran them with the team Phonso recruited. After that, we said goodnight. I did paperwork, the started making notes in this. I paused for a fair bit of Cross Stitch World before I finished notes in this. {Smile}
