Daily Update, July 2, 2025

 On Wednesday, before supper, my main nurse took me down to Hilo High School. They had a Jazz Band that was having a little concert about an hour long, more-or-less. My nurse's daughter had a trumpet solo in one of the later pieces. I thought she did very well all of the kids did, really. I enjoyed it. It's been too long since I've gone to a concert. Mom, Dad, and I used to go often, until Dad couldn't keep his legs down that long, and Mom couldn't wait that long to use the bathroom. We tried to figure out a way for me to go, but it was easier to just stay home than to figure out a place to wait safely. {smile}

Exercise included mini-Kegels, and walking around Hilo High School. It wasn't as much as some days, but the stairs at Hilo High School were more difficult than any stairs I encounter often, partly because they lacked regular railings. I got some pretty good practice with them. I think I need more stair practice. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played cross Stitch World, browsed on the web, and read web comics right through the morning and lunch. After lunch, I wrote up Tuesday's daily update and cleaned myself up with the help of my main nurse. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then Pierogies said hi. We teamed up quickly and did a mission to make sure it fit before the concert. I think we did a second mission. Dennis said hi right at the end and joined us. He wanted to play more, but I was tight on time. Still, we finished a hunt and started a second hunt before I had to leave for the concert. After the concert, I had dinner when i got home. {Smile}

After dinner, I chatted on the chat server and played Cross Stitch World. Then I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I said hi and talked a bit with Ulty, Jenny's Player, and Nyxy. Then I did a high-level individual mission by myself on a high-level character. As I was finishing, Dennis said hi. He joined me right after that mission, and we did two more missions of the same type together. It was a bit hard, but we managed and actually got better. Then we discussed switching to moderately low-level characters, but Dennis spotted Phonso advertising a pair of high-level taskforces. We joined him and ran them with the team Phonso recruited. After that, we said goodnight. I did paperwork, the started making notes in this. I paused for a fair bit of Cross Stitch World before I finished notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, July 1, 2025

On Tuesday, over much of the morning, I composed a few paragraphs that presented a dilemma I've having in the villain supergroup. I currently have two members. The character who's fun, doesn't fit the group, or connect well with other characters. The new character fits the group and connects with others but is depressing to play much. I described the problems, and asked about fixes and/or other characters, with possible additions to help them fit better. {Smile}

I did more mini-Kegel exercises than the day before, and even a few that weren't minis. In the evening, while waiting for Phonso to fill a team, I did my arm resistance exercises and my arm swinging exercises. It wasn't a great exercise day, but it was better than the day before. {Smile}

In breaks when I was composing the paragraphs, I browsed the web and played Cross Stitch World. Shortly after composing the paragraphs, I broke for lunch. After lunch, I browsed on the web some more and played more Cross Stitch World. I also wrote up Monday's daily update, finishing it just enough before the teen supergroup meeting to be ever so slightly early, though Ulty, Jenny's Player, and a couple of others were already there. We roleplayed and got ready to do a mission of mine as Nyxy and another gal got around to joining us. That was the first mission in a story arc I had - the last before I can gain level on the supergroup member. We finished just in time for one fellow to go to bed, and for me to go to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I answered some stuff on the chat server before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I rejoined the teen supergroup meeting. Most of the members who'd been there earlier were still busy roleplaying. Then Nyxy left; she often gets tired before the others. The rest of us continued, slowing down. Then we broke up. I tried to get Kitten's attention and made only a few notes in this before I succeeded in getting Kitten's attention. We teamed up and started a mission of mine. However, Phonso invited us to a pair of high-level task forces just as we were starting. We joined him and ran them with the team he recruited. I exercised while I waited for the team to fill. After the taskforce, the team broke up. Kitten started a mission, and I joined them. Then Kitten helped my teen supergroup member with a badge that improves the character. After that, I switched to a high-level character, and we ran a new individual mission. Then we said goodnight, and I made notes in this, with breaks for web browsing. I left for bed slightly earlier than often recently. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 30, 2025

 On Monday, my relief nurse and I ran an errand or two in the late morning. We talked about me needing contingency plans before trying to live on my own. I really need to work this out with both nurses, and the nursing company too. I feel like it's going to take some effort to set me up for success and now is better than later to start planning for it. {Smile}

In the afternoon, I had a meeting with the gal who's helping me with the discernment for Daughters of the King. It was a good meeting. We got one chapter mostly done, with one thing both of us agreed to look into further. We got another chapter well started. I need to study it during the week to be sure we complete it next time, because there's a lot in there. {Smile}

I meant to exercise, and even talked to Nox about doing so, but the main break in the game closed before I got to it. I did start doing mini-Kegel exercises again, at least, though not a lot, because I thought of starting rather late in the evening. but I started, and if I keep them up, I have at least a little daily exercise. {Smile}

On the ride, when my relief nurse and I weren't talking, I played Cross Stitch World. When we got home, I played more Cross Stitch World and browsed the web before lunch and into the afternoon. Then I started writing up Sunday's daily update before the meeting with the gal. After I finished the meeting, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then I teamed up with Kitten and Pierogies. They helped me finish a contact for the teen supergroup member who had more missions than I expected. Dennis joined for a mission or two. Then the four of us switched to high-level characters (except Kitten is always on a high-level character, so didn't switch). Dennis started an arc that I got credit for starting, too. I don't know why I didn't get credit when Kitten and I tried to start it with Kitten's mission. Anyway, after that, I had dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World. Then I finished writing up Sunday's daily update, with breaks to read web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I teamed up with Kitten started a mission. During it, Phonso invited us to a pair of high-level taskforces. He joined us in the mission while we finished it. then he and I did the taskforce without Kitten, because Kitten went quiet. I also talked to Nox on chat server. I talked a lot with one of the taskforce members, both during the taskforce, and afterwards, while doing paperwork. Just after I finished up, Dr. Faustus said hi. I switched to my moderately low-level villain supergroup member, and we did a story arc. We also talked at some length about me making a new character for the villain supergroup. The fairly high-level member never connected to anyone there. The new, moderately low-level one has, but is kind of depressing to roleplay much. We tossed around some ideas, and he suggested consulting others on the villain supergroup, as well. Then I made notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 29, 2025

 On Sunday, I got up at the usual time for when they have a nine o'clock service. My main nurse took me to church right after breakfast. Yet somehow, we arrived during the prayers of the people, which is distinctly after the sermon we have arrived during recently. the only thing I can think is that they must have had a short sermon. My main nurse and I sat with Auntie Barbara. I looked on her service sheet, since there were none left when we got there. They seem to be having trouble printing enough for the combined services. {smile}

After the service we had lunch on the lanai. I sat with Auntie Barbara and my main nurse, along with others. The conversation was nice. Afterwards, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise. I hope to do more the next day. {Smile}

On the way down to church, and for the first part of the ride back, I put the four classes I expect to start soon into my phone. I was surprised that they start next week. I'd thought they started this week. I have another week to prepare. For the rest of the ride home, I played Cross Stitch World. I continued to play Cross Stitch World at home. I also browsed the web until I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. At first, I concentrated completely on paperwork. After a while, I looked around. I started talking with Pierogies. Eventually, we teamed up and did a mission that followed up on the one we did the other day. We finished a story arc with the same characters as last time. Then he left, and I did paperwork until dinner. At dinner, I started the second volume of _A Man and His Cat_. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Saturday's daily update, with breaks for both Cross Stitch World and browsing on the web. Eventually, I got into City of Heroes: Homecoming and did paperwork until Dr. Faustus said hi. I soon joined him on my low-level supergroup member, and we did missions that benefited me, though I offered more than once to help him, too. First, we unlocked a contact. Then we ran one of my story arcs. Dennis joined us during it, first doing my missions, then one or two of his before he left for bed again. Next, Dr. Faustus and I finished my story arc. After that, he left for work, and I did paperwork. Then made notes in this, with pauses for Cross Stitch World, browsing the web, and a tiny bit more City of Heroes: Homecoming paperwork. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 28, 2025

 On Saturday after breakfast, I took a nap. It was about an hour long. I must have needed it, since I did feel better afterwards. {Smile}

Then, in the afternoon, my main nurse took me to Liliu'okalani Gardens. I meandered over to the ice cream parlor with the popsicles and got a mango cream popsicle this time. I do like these popsicles They're paletas - Mexican style using real food, and not so big that they'll break a diet, or upset my blood sugar much when they aren't just sugar and food coloring. After picking up the popsicle, we meandered back deliberately not taking a direct route either way, nor the same route. The way back included a side trip to the fishing pier, and the whole walk lasted almost forty minutes. {Smile}

That walk was my exercise Saturday. {Smile}

After my nap, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. I continued browsing the web over lunch. Then I began writing up Friday's update. I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming, and did a little paperwork, but no one I particularly like to team with was on, so I went out with main nurse to walk and get a popsicle. I read the first volume of _A Man and His Cat on the way down and played Cross Stitch World in the car on the way back. When I came back, I played more Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I finished Friday's daily update before I cleaned up with my main nurse's help. After that, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did only a little paperwork before I found Pierogies. We chatted, then teamed up and did a mission of mine while chatting some more. We finished at dinnertime. I finished the first volume of _A Man and His Cat_ over dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I browsed on the web and made notes in this, with a break to read a web comic. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I said hi to Dennis and Nyxy, and talked with both of them. I talked with Nox a bit on the chat server, too. I teamed up with Dennis on fairly high-level characters. We did a couple of his missions and two of mine. Dr. Faustus joined us part way through. After the second of my missions, Dennis left for bed. Dr. Faustus and I switched to run my little villain through one of her story arcs. He left during the last mission because his work really needed him. Yes, he works nights, and sometimes plays when it's slow, just like Phonso. I finished up that last mission on my own with only a little trouble. Then I did paperwork. After that, I made notes in this. I wound down with a little web browsing. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 27, 2025

On Friday after breakfast, I had an appointment with my nutritionist. Somehow, I timed out while waiting to connect, even as my nutritionist was waiting to connect too. She said so when we discussed it when she called me just after that. Then I tried to connect again, several times, actually, but each time, they said that they couldn't connect to my account, so, it would cost $60. It mentioned a coupon code, which I asked about when she called again, but we just handled the appointment by phone. Things are going pretty well. She does want to see my weight go down, but at least that's maintaining. and other things look good. {Smile}

In the afternoon, the housekeeper came, and the house and surroundings look better for her attentions. {Smile}

I didn't get any real exercise, but I had a good walk the day before, and I expect another good walk the next day. {Smile}

After the phone meeting with my nutritionist, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web right through lunch. Then I began writing up Thursday's daily update. I stopped to check City of Heroes a bit early, and found Div. We talked a fair bit. Then we teamed up and I picked a mission of his. It went longer than I expected, but we got done so that I was only a little late to the villain supergroup meeting, which I went to just after. They started doing missions as soon as I got there, since one member was on a tight schedule. We finished the story arc we checked out last week with the players we were waiting for to continue it, though the one with a tight schedule had to leave a little before the end. The rest left after the last mission of the story arc, though it was distinctly early. So, I did paperwork until dinnertime. {Smile}

During dinner, I started a manga comic I got from the public library a while back and really got into it. It's the first in a series called _A Man & His Cat_. After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World. Then I started making notes in this. Next, I finished writing up Thursday's daily update, with breaks to read web comics. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with extensive paperwork and said hi to Ulty and Jenny's player. I talked with them, especially with Ulty. I also tried to talk with Nox on the chat server and mainly got a mis-posting of an earlier daily update sorted out by posting the right one before they left for bed. I started to play by myself on the teen supergroup member. Then Dr. Faustus said hi. I invited him to join me, telling him about my character and the teen supergroup. H sounds like he wants to check it out but is busy next week. He got a teen character of his own - one of a few he has - and we finished my mission. Then we did a mission of his before we said goodnight. I followed this with paperwork. Then I made notes with this, with breaks to play Cross Stitch World and do a little more paperwork on City of Heroes: Homecoming. After that, I read a web comic to wind down before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 26, 2025

On Thursday, while I was getting ready for the day, I got a call from my doctor's office. I'd forgotten my blood tests again, so we had to reschedule. They asked for Tuesday morning. I got Tuesday afternoon instead. Then I told my main nurse, who was unhappy because that's a day off for him. He wants to keep up with my doctor's appointments. He called them to reschedule. He got it for a different day, that's less busy. {Smile}

Instead, my main nurse and I went to Price Kuhio Plaza, Hilo's biggest shopping center. We walked all the way around, for a little over 30 minutes of walking. We were in the shade and air conditioning, where is far more pleasant around noon, which is when we went. {Smile}

On the trip out, I read some of Reinventing Comics by Scott McCloud. Then I switched to playing Cross Stitch World. I continued playing Cross Stitch World after we got home. Then I shifted to web browsing and reading web comics over lunch. After lunch, I check City of Heroes: Homecoming but didn't spot any friends who are mainly on early, so I began writing up Wednesday's daily update. I stopped to clean myself up with the help of my main nurse. After that, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then Pierogies said hi, and so did Kitten. The three of us teamed up and did a few missions together before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World. Then I finished writing up Wednesday's daily update before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I said hi to Kitten as I prepared to work on badges in the new zone, but Kitten responded before I did much. We teamed up and ran the third new good-guys story arc in the new zone Kitten got two badges, and I got one, because it didn't want to synch, so we used kitten's missions, and in this zone, the badge for running the arc only goes to the one who has it. I'll have to do it myself to get that badge, but the first mission wanted me to do it separately, so I'll just did the whole thing separately. I said goodnight to Nox on the chat server without really talking. Dr. Faustus said hi neat the end of the story arc. After we finished it, Kitten and I joined him. We started two new contacts and opened a third on my new villain supergroup member. Then Kitten left because they were very tired. Dr. Faustus and I started another contact. Then we said goodnight. After that, I made notes in this with only one brief break. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 25, 2025

On Wednesday, right after breakfast, my nurse and I went down to my bank, which he's started using too. We picked up his wife, then went to the bank. I went first, and learned the check I wanted to deposit was made out to Mom's estate, not to her trust. The teller insisted it had to go into an estate account, not the trust account which we have with them. Then I learned that the recent cash flow problem is fixed for now. My financial adviser got enough into the bank, and it doesn't have a hold or anything on it. So at least that is sorted. {Smile}

Then I waited while my nurse and his wife took care of their banking. Next, we went to Safeway, where I picked out a sandwich for lunch. They got assorted groceries, some for their house, some for mine. Then we went home, dropping his wife at their house on the way. {Smile}

In the afternoon, I got a phone call from my financial adviser. I told her what I'd done and learned, and we worked out some future steps to keep things working more smoothly in the future. We also worked out how to deal with the check. I got it ready and mailed it off to her after our call. She'll take care of it however it needs to be taken care of. {Smile}

Walking around the bank and Safeway was a little exercise. I can do more the next day. {Smile}

I read a book on the way down, and at the bank. I switched to playing Cross Stitch World in Safeway while waiting for my main nurse and his wife to finish shopping and continued playing it on the ride home. I played some more Cross Stitch World at home and browsed the web over lunch. Then I read web comics after lunch, and wrote up Tuesday's daily update, with breaks to play Cross Stitch World and browse on the web. I also got the phone call from my financial advisor before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then Pierogies said hi. He suggested getting one of the characters I recently made who've been stuck in the tutorial out of it so we could play. I did so and joined him. We started a beginning story arc. Then Dennis joined us, but he got frustrated with how slowly I was moving and left again. I thought I was just drained from dealing with the bank, but later I realized my blood sugar was unstable, which just makes things worse. Anyway, Pierogies and I kept going until I got called to dinner. That's when we said goodnight. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and made notes in this, with a break to answer Nox on the chat server. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found a note from Dr. Faustus offering to accompany him on missions that get badges, but not Dr. Faustus, as I found out when I replied, and was promised he'd get it when he was online. So, I did some paperwork and started badge hunting on my best badge collector in the newly completed zone. While I was doing that, Dr. Faustus said hi. I stopped badge hunting - it will keep fine - and switched to the low-level villain supergroup member. We started with doing his badge missions with me on her. During that, Kitten said hi and joined us. when the badge missions were done, we got back to the story arcs she was doing. We did two, finishing the zone. Then we switched back to villain alignment, so I could do a villain story arc I find amusing. We set up another villain story arc before we realized how late it was. Because of the time, we stopped and said goodnight. I left to made notes in this, with breaks for Cross Stitch World and reading web comics. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 24, 2025

 On Tuesday, after breakfast, my relief nurse took me out so we could run errands. We talked on the way and came back before lunch. {Smile}

Then, late in the evening, after my relief nurse went to bed, I did all fourteen of my walking exercises in the hallway. I almost didn't because no one would see it. However, I realized that my blood sugar would be better for this exercise the next morning, and that's what's really important. 

When we came back from the errands, I browsed on the web and played Cross Stitch World right over lunch. Then I read web comics before starting making notes in this. Ater that, I wrote up Monday's daily update, yes, after starting the notes in this. I took some breaks, mostly for Cross Stich World, with a little web browsing. I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming slightly early and started with paperwork. Div said hello, and that they were leaving, but hoped to get together soon. They didn't even stay long enough for me to answer, but it was wonderful hearing from them. Then Pierogies said hi. We teamed up and did two missions together, as I showed him a better way to play a particular character type. Then I dashed to teen supergroup meeting slightly late. We roleplayed and talked out-of-character more than usual. Then we toured a stat-improving badge, with me taking them around to everything, and them helping me get what I couldn't by myself. I finally got it on my character. Then we started a taskforce barely before dinnertime. {Smile}

After stepping away to eat dinner, I joined them in the third to the last mission of the taskforce and helped them finish it. After that, I joined Nyxy for some roleplaying until they eventually left for bed. I also talked briefly to Nox on the chat server. After Nyxy left, I talked with Ulty until she left, too, but not in character. I also played by myself on my teen supergroup member, finishing out another contact. Next, I made notes in this. I played a little Cross Stich World and did a little web browsing. Then I did my exercises before I made more notes in this. After that, I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I did two more missions, a couple of talks, and a hunt on my teen SG member, advancing a contact to where I hope I'm almost done with him. Only one apparently half-done contact to go after this until I can gain a few levels and get different contacts. After that, I made more notes in this. Then I collected the rest of the easiest badges in the newly completed zone. I still have some only slightly harder ones, but it got to be too late., I just finished my notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, June 23, 2025

 On Monday after breakfast, I paid off my smartphone for the month so I could use it to call and text. Then I called my financial adviser. She was in a meeting but soon called back. We talked about the drained bank account. It looks like I can hope it will be fixed sooner rather than later. We also talked about starting a similar account, so I have a backup if something like this happens again. {smile}

After the call, I took a ride with my relief nurse. We just did a few errands, but it got me out of the house and gave us time to talk. {Smile}

Also, the gal helping me through the discernment for Daughters of the King came in the afternoon. We had a good session, getting one chapter done well. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise again, but my relief nurse and the head of the nursing company made big plans for the next day, so I didn't worry too much. {Smile}

On the ride, I played some Cross Stitch World when I wasn't talking with my relief nurse. When we came home, we had lunch/ Then I wrote up some of Sunday's daily update, taking short breaks to play Cross Stitch World and read web comics. Next, I browsed on the web a little until the gal came for discernment. After she left, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I did paperwork. I talked with Ulty, Jenny's Player, and Nyxy, especially with Ulty, as we firmed up plans for the next day's teen supergroup meeting. After that, I squeezed in a mission by myself before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing up Sunday's daily update, with short breaks for web browsing. Then I joined Dennis in City of Heroes: Homecoming, where we did another new story arc. The_Cyberchill joined us for the last couple of missions while streaming under that name on Twitch. Dr. Faustus said hi, too. Also, I talked with Nox on the chat server. After the story arc, Dennis left, and The_Cyberchill and I joined Dr. Faustus, and did the next story arc with my low-level villain supergroup member. The_Cyberchill left after a hunt, but Dr. Faustus and I did the whole story arc, with a couple of breaks for me to improve my character, who's going up in level for a while. We barely started the next contact before I realized I need to stop and make notes in this. Though I did talk a bit with Dr. Faustus before and while making notes in this. {Smile}
