Daily Update, October 18, 2024

 On Friday, after breakfast, I contacted Uber. A fellow came and took me to physical therapy. {Smile}

Physical therapy went pretty well. I mentioned my recent trouble with getting dizzy, and also that it was less when I was more careful with spotting, a collection of techniques where y9ou use particular ways of looking at things to control dizziness when dancing. Even people with much less vertigo can benefit from using proper spotting while dancing. {Smile}

When it was done, I contacted Uber, and a different fellow came and took me home. {Smile}

I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with Mom and read to her before dinner. Mom wasn't resting when I went in and stayed awake enough to look at all the pictures. She even answered me once. These days, that's a good day. I started with scripture and thoughts about it first. Then I continued her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. After that, I finished _Childhood Memories; Picture Book_. Then I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I finished with October 18th's story, "The Cricket," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

Physical therapy wore me out quite enough to be all my exercise today. {Smile}

After lunch with Mom, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed the web before I got into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, then shifted to solo badge hunting. Then I noticed someone was recruiting for the later short, large-group event, so I joined it. When it was done, I went to join the later long, large-group event, knowing that starts when the short one is done. After that, I did some paperwork. I also talked with Dennis in City of Heroes: Homecoming and Pierogies on the chat server, agreeing with each separately to meet up if we could after I finished dinner and came back to the game. I went to read to Mom late, but thankfully that still went pretty well. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Thursday's daily update, with a break to play Cross Stitch World for a while. Then I began writing and taking notes for this update. After that, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, then went on to badge collecting, just like I had earlier. However, early in the badge collecting, I ran into a pair of giant monsters. I recruited a group to take it down, since I am neither the player nor the character builder to take down a giant monster by themselves, let alone two in short succession. Recruiting started slowly, but when I got enough, we fought the giant monsters, taking them down with a little patience. Then a zombie apocalypse started when only one had left. So, the group fought the zombies. Then we began to search for more giant monsters. Before we found them, the rest of the group went to deal with one another person found in another zone. I got there just too late to help. I started to hunt for badges again when Pierogies came and said hi. I switched to a low-level character, and we started a mission together. Chrome joined us for most of that mission and stayed for the hunt and the long mission that followed. Then they both went to bed, and I went back to badge hunting. Then I read some comics and went back for some hunts I remembered on that character. The first went well, but eh second got frustrating, so I stopped and switched to the earlier character, going back to badge hunting. I finished the evening with some paperwork and making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 17, 2024

After breakfast, I had my online counselling appointment. I think it went well. She's helping me come to terms with unrealized dreams, both letting go of the ones that aren't to be, and maybe making others work while I still can. {smile}

Right before lunch, our priest came to visit Mom. she talked with Mom and gave home communion. Then she had a talk with me. She's concerned about us, and I realized she has good reason to be. {smile}

I ate lunch and dinner with Mom and read to her before dinner. Mom was resting when I went in, she woke right away when I greeted her. She looked at all the pictures and even answered me at the end. These days, that's a good day. First, I started with scripture and thoughts about it. Next, I continued her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. Then, I continued _Childhood Memories; Picture Book_. After that, I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I ended with October 17th's story, "Blue Mushrooms!" in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

I did my salsa dancing warmup one right after another, as commercials allowed, since I dance to a piece on YouTube, and haven't bought their commercial free plan. After my bath, I did one longer, less structured piece of salsa dancing. I tried to watch my spotting, especially in the first set, and most especially during the fast turns int he first set. I think I felt my balance holding better when I spotted during the fast turns. I'll talk with my therapist about the dizziness tomorrow, but hopefully more careful spotting will make the essential difference. {Smile}

After counselling, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed the web while I thought a lot about stuff from the counselling. Then our priest came to visit. After she left, I had lunch with Mom. After that, I played Cross Stitch World while I thought, both about things from the counselling, and also things from the pastoral visit, especially my talk with our priest. I ended up getting into City of Heroes: Homecoming particularly late. I found Kitten pretty quickly, and we teamed up. Dennis and his best friend soon joined us. I asked for the Halloween trial so I could run it on my third best badge collector in a costume for the last badge, since we had four, and it takes precisely four to run it. Dennis and his friend wanted all the badges, so they needed to get costumes; I already had mine, and Kitten already had the badge. We got some by knocking on a few trick-or-treat doors, since the costumes we needed are some of the treats in trick-or-treating. We ran the trial, with Dennis, his friend, and I in our costumes, and Kitten in a permanent costume they'd bought. While we were starting, Pierogies said hi. I told him we were doing exactly-four content, but we could get together later. He was happy to work on a new character while we ran the trial. So, we ran it. I got my last badge, and Dennis and his friend got all four badges on the first run. After that, Dennis's friend left. Dennis wanted to do the same trial with Pierogies next. Pierogies joined us on a character who needed the badges, while Dennis and I switched to other characters who needed the badges. We ran it again, and all but Kitten got the badges, since Kitten already had them. Then Pierogies and I switched to low-level characters. We came across a stranger while getting back together and invited them along as we ran a regular mission. Then I left to read to Mom. The stranger wanted to do more, and I think the others may have kept on going with them for a while. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Wednesday's daily update, with breaks for Cross Stitch World and comics. Then I began writing and making notes in this update. After that, I got into City of Heroes: Homecoming rather later. I said hi to Kitten but got no response. I started talking with nox on teh chat server. I also said hi to Phonso. He was doing a Halloween event for badges, so I joined the small league he was in on a character I just wanted to play. Most of my high-level characters have these badges and I didn't want to hunt for someone who didn't. In doing this event, someone spotted a giant monster, so we got it afterwards. While getting the giant monster, a zombie apocalypse started right in our zone, so we shifted to fighting zombies right where we were, since they were appearing in the water with us. When the zombies were over, the small league broke up. Phonso suggested running the Halloween trial. I found the next character in the list who needed it. She's down in the pack, not a ranked badge collector. By "the pack," I mean a large bunch of characters who are close enough together, any ranking changes too often to keep track of. Phonso recruited two more characters, and we got costumes for them with a little trick-or-treating. Then we ran the trial. After that, I said goodnight to Phonso. Then I ran into Divi. We chatted a little, then said goodnight. I did some paperwork before my first set of dancing. Then I cleaned myself up before my second set of dancing. After that, I wrote and made notes in this, with a little Cross Stitch World, though not as much as usual. {Smile}

Daily Update October 16, 2024

On Wednesday, I had a nap in the morning because I got to bed late again. It helped a lot, but I got done too late to clean up before lunch like I hoped to. {rueful smile}

I should say that about two or three weeks ago, mom suddenly became noticeably quieter. She responds less frequently. If she speaks to me in response while reading, it's now a good day. The day she spoke twice was a very good day. From something the relief nurse told our priest today, this is typical of late-enough stage dementia. {bite lops}

I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was awake when I went in, and didn't fully fall asleep, though she did rest at times while I read. She looked at some of the pictures and seemed to listen to the rest. First, I began with scripture and thoughts about it. After that, I I started her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2021. Next, I restarted _Childhood Memories; Picture Book_. then I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I finished with October 16th's story, "Winter Flowers," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

I did my arm swinging exercises between reading to Mom and dinner. Then I did my head exercises after I'd played much of the evening. After that, I did my salsa dancing warmup. After a break I tried more salsa dancing, but I got too dizzy entirely too quickly. I had to stop very quickly. So, I got only 9 1/2 minutes of salsa dancing in. The last couple of times this happened, I blamed starting too late, but thanks to Dr. Faustus reminding me earlier, I started my second set when I usually start my first set, and I was still too dizzy. I think I need to talk to my physical therapist about this. Luckily. I see them again on Friday. {Smile}

Starting during breakfast, I browsed the web. moderately late morning, I took a nap. It was too late to clean up before lunch, so I browsed the web some more. Then came lunch. After lunch, I read comics and browsed the web. Then I wrote a little of Tuesday's daily update before hopping into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten and Pierogies eager to start a particular strike force (a villainous task force) I was slow getting ready, but we did start when Pierogies said he needed to start because it was getting late. He was more right than I realized. With only three, it went a little slowly, so we finished late to read to Mom. I did get to talk with Dennis a bit near the end, when he said hi. He was sorry we'd started something he couldn't join, but the game doesn't allow adding folks in the middle of a taskforce, strike force, or trial. When it was done, I rushed to read to Mom. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing Tuesday's daily update with breaks for browsing the web and Cross Stitch World. Altogether, this took long enough, I got into City of Heroes: Homecoming later than I realized. When I did get in, I said hi to Phonso, who immediately invited me to a special Halloween trial. He reminded me to get a costume to wear during the trial, because one of the four badges is for doing so. I got the costume... then forgot to wear it. I will have to do it again for that badge. While waiting, I said hi to Dr. Faustus. Afterwards, I started talking with Alex and showed him a vendor he asked about. Then we realized he really wanted something different. I started to show it to him, and invited Dr. Faustus to join us, since he was solo, and I've been wanting to introduce them However, Alex suddenly left before I could either introduce them or show him what I wanted. Dr. Faustus and I waited, but he didn't come back. When I began wondering what to do next, Dr. Faustus reminded me it was time to start my exercises. That's how I got started early, but somehow still got too dizzy for second set. I began writing this after first set. Then I watched some videos after aborted set and read some comics. Next, I did a little solo badge hunting and paperwork in City of Heroes: Homecoming before I made notes in this in preparation for bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 15, 2024

As I was finishing breakfast, the driver came. I finished getting ready, and got in. there was one other rider, a chatty gal who needed to stop at the credit union on the way down. She said she'd be quick, but the driver eventually went in to see what was going on. They came back out very quickly. There had been a gal ahead of her who had a lot to do, and not many other tellers. {smile}

We got to the meeting eighteen minutes late, between me not being ready and the bank being slow. What we caught of it went well, as did lunch afterwards. the same gal shared the ride home. WE dropped her off first, then me. {Smile}

I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was resting when I went in, and largely continued resting while I read. She did look at some pictures and seemed to listen to the rest. I began with scripture and thoughts about it first. Then I read a Christmas card from her niece. After that, I started _Childhood Memories; Picture Book_. Next, I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I ended with October 15th's story, "Hazelnuts," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

I did my arm resistance exercises between reading to Mom and dinner. Then I did my head exercises after sharing Monday's daily update. I did all of my salsa dancing warmup for 8 1/2 minutes of salsa dancing when I was done playing. I hoped to do more after I cleaned myself up, but it was really too late by then, even though I took a shortcut. {rueful look}

After I got home, I wrote some of Monday's daily update before I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Pierogies, and we did the early long, large-group event together. Then he wanted to switch to low level characters of a particular kind. My low-level one of that type was a villain, but I changed that. I thought it would be temporary, but when I moved her to the hero side, she looked far more at home and feels happier. Also, I don't have many heroes at her level, so that's a plus, too. Anyway, Pierogies and I started a favorite story arc, and did a few missions. Then we broke so I could read to Mom. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World. Then I wrote up Monday's daily update. Next, I read some comics before I began this update. I also began talking with Nox on chat server. Then I hopped in city of Heroes: Homecoming, where I found Dennis. He was working on badges. I helped him on my third best badger. She got three badges from two missions by helping him. After that, Dennis and I said goodnight. I did some paperwork and played more Cross Stitch World. then I browsed the web before dancing. Next, I cleaned myself up. After that, I did a tiny bit of paperwork and watched videos as part of browsing the web some more. Next, I wrote some of this and took notes in this, too. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 14, 2024

On Monday, after breakfast, I called the driver who takes me to the meeting and confirmed I wanted to go the next day. She called back and told me when to expect her. {Smile}

Then I took a nap in late morning. I had planned to go right after breakfast, but somehow didn't. When I'm tired, I don't always make the best decisions. {rueful smile}

I called my doctor's office around lunch time. They put me back on an anti-yeast pill. Unfortunately, one of the pills I take is associated with frequent yeast infections. {resigned smile}

I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was awake when I went in. She largely rested while I read. I hope she finds being read to soothing. I started with scripture and thoughts about it first. After that, I read Christmas cards from a friend and her niece, with a Mother's Day card from me in between them. Next, I finished _Babies & Toddlers Happy Book_. Then I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I ended with October 14th's story, "The Giraffe," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

I did my arm swinging exercises between reading to mom and eating dinner. Then I did my salsa dancing after playing City of heroes: Homecoming most of the evening. I did two pieces, took a break, and did two more pieces, fourteen and three quarters minutes of salsa dancing in all. {Smile}

I started my day with web browsing over breakfast which continued through most of the morning before I finally took the nap I really needed. I took just a short break from the web browsing for the first phone call before my nap. When I got up, I had lunch and got the second phone call. Afterwards, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Pierogies was around and told me that the early long large-group event had just folded because they had too few high-damage types to be likely to be successful. He and I got together with me on a moderately low-level character I felt like playing. We ran a few of my missions. Then he left so I could clean myself up before reading to Mom. I actually squeezed in the later short, large-group event. There, they talked about how they're planning to replace the later short, large-group event and the late night short, large-group event with a single short, large-group event halfway in between them. Apparently, it's hard on the raid leaders to run three most days, especially when the longest running and most dependable leader just retired. After the later short, large-group event, I cleaned myself up. I got done at a typical time to read to Mom, which I was happy with. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Sunday's daily update, with breaks for starting this and playing Cross Stitch World. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. No one was on, so I played by myself, and started talking with Nox and a little with kitten, both on the chat server. Then Dennis came on, and showed off some costumes he'd been redoing, and talked about them. Then he left, and I went back to solo play and paperwork, especially after Nox went to bed. Then I started dancing. I browsed the web and played CSW in the break between sets. Then I played by myself on City of Heroes: Homecoming a bit before I finished my notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 13, 2024

On Sunday, after breakfast, I contacted Uber. A fellow came and took me to church. I arrived during the announcements and enjoyed the nice service. Afterwards, I enjoyed lunch on the lanai with the other parishioners.  I rode home with home with home communion, where I had communion again with Mom. When they left, they took a book I gave them to give a gal at another stop.

I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was resting when I went in. She mostly kept resting, but she did say she enjoyed it twice today. I still placed bookmarks to redo some pictures and stories. First, I started with scripture and thoughts about it. Next. I read a longish Christmas letter from a friend. After that, I continued _Babies & Toddlers Happy Book_. Next, I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I ended with October 13th's story, "Nick and Brownie," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

I did my head exercises, and my arm resistance exercises between reading to Mom and eating dinner. Later, after I had played City of Heroes: Homecoming much of the evening, I did some salsa dancing. I did the first piece, and felt winded afterwards, so I took a break. I did the next two pieces together, then took another break. Then I slipped in one more, much longer piece. It took two breaks and a little over half an hour, but I got in fourteen and three quarters minutes. That's the best I've done recently by a decent margin. {Grin}

After I got home, I wrote some of Saturday's daily update. Then I browsed web, especially looking at comics. Next, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I found Kitten. We teamed up and finished a barely begun story arc I had. Then we did. much of the follow-up story arc. We stopped before the big mission near the end, because it was too close to time to read to Mom. We talked a bit before I left for that. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing Saturday's daily update. Then I read a few comics before I hopped back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. First, I teamed up with Dennis for visiting and a mission or two. Then I teamed up with Michiel for visiting and a mission. Then I teamed up with Alex for visiting, mainly. We visited parts of a couple of bases and planned some roleplaying in the future. After Alex left, I played by myself then I danced, with web browsing and working on this daily update - both writing and making notes - in the breaks. Afterwards, said hi to Pierogies. I joined him in a farm where we visited as I helped. then I finished making notes in my daily update. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 12, 2024

 On Saturday, our housekeeper came around lunchtime. When I finished cleaning myself up, I asked if she'd help with the plugs if I got a new battery backup, since I thought the day before's alarm said it needed to be replaced. She thought about it, and agreed to, but said we should look at it first. She started tracing wires, figuring out which one went to the wall. The computer, monitor, modem, and router are why I need the battery backup, but one was attached to nothing, and another to the laptop, which I don't use when I'm using the desktop, which is most of the time. So those two got unplugged. She suggested the alarm might just be a warning that it was overloaded. So, I've decided to wait and see if it happens again. {Smile}

Also, my last update, I said something about the doctor referring me to another doctor. I meant to say he was referring me to physical therapy the two other kinds of physical therapy I can benefit from. He also referred me for the tests that day, and I have requisition form in my purse for next time. {Smile}

I ate breakfast and dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was awake when I went in. She even said she enjoyed my reading part way through the reading. I started with scripture and thoughts about it first. Next. I continued _Babies & Toddlers Happy Book_. After that, I read a birthday card from church, and a Valentine's Day card from me. Next, I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I ended with October 12th's story, "Three Apples," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

I did my head exercises between reading to Mom and dinner. Then I did my arm resistance exercises while things were winding down on City of Heroes: Homecoming. After I got off City of Heroes: Homecoming, I did my leg exercises for the first time since I got my toenail removed. I really want to do more on my light day, but it was better than nothing. {Smile}

After breakfast with Mom, I browsed the web a fair while before cleaning myself up. The housekeeper came while I was doing that. We sorted out the plugs, and then I had lunch. I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming during lunch, and started on paperwork right after checking to find no one in. I was hoping to catch Div, between being early and Pierogies saying he'd caught him, but Div must have left early. Anyway, Pierogies came in and said hi. We decided to join the early long, large-group event together. When it was done, we teamed up on low-level characters and ran a story arc we're both fond of. Next, Dennis joined us as we began the direct sequel story arc. unfortunately, I was distracted, which they rightly complained about when i left my character quiet. After a couple of missions together, I left to read to Mom. {Smile}

After dinner, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming. Dennis was on, so we teamed up for a couple of missions before he left for bed. After he left, I did some paperwork and wrote up the rest of Friday's daily update. Then I started writing and making notes in this. I said goodnight to Nox shortly before sharing the update, because they had other stuff before bed that took them off their computer. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming and worked on paperwork until I spotted Alex. We talked a fair while before we ran a mission together. Then we checked out a supergroup they had just learned about, but the leader didn't leave the best impression on either of us. Although it pushed leaving late, I introduced him to another friend before I left to exercise. After my exercise, I browsed a bit on the web and finished making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 11, 2024

 On Friday, after breakfast, I contacted Uber, and a nice, chatty driver took me down to my doctor's office. I asked at the main desk about the tests I hadn't gotten, wondering if I could take them first, since I'd arrived a bit early. The receptionist thought that getting the tests before the appointment would be a bit tighter than they liked, but they were happy to give me a requisition form afterwards. {smile}

So, I had my doctor's appointment, and he said he'd request the doctor's appointment. After that, the receptionist arranged for a phone consultation when they get the test results and gave me the test requisition. I went downstairs and got the lab tests done. then I went back upstairs because they have an upstairs and a downstairs drop-off and pickup area, and the benches are more plentiful upstairs. Then I contacted Uber, and the driver took me home. {Smile}

In the evening, an alarm went off. It was my battery backup. I turned it off and on, and it didn't repeat. I figured I'd have to replace it, but now I'm hoping not. I got the housekeeper to help me with it the next day, and she thought it might be overloaded. We were able to remove two of the six plugs in it, since one wasn't attached to anything, and the other was attached to the laptop, which I really don't need plugged in when I'm using the desktop. Now we wait and see if the alarm happens again, but maybe it won't. {Smile}

I ate Breakfast, lunch and dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was awake when I went in. Seh even said she enjoyed my reading when I finished. I started with scripture and thoughts about it first. Next, I read a Christmas card from her nice, and cards from each of her two sisters. After that, I continued _Babies & Toddlers Happy Book_ and was encouraged to see her looking at the pictures. then I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I ended with October 11th's story, "Alex's Moon Flag," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

Still no exercise, since I had physical therapy just yesterday. {Smile}

I had breakfast with Mom., the n worked on City of Heroes: Homecoming paperwork before heading out to the doctor. When I came back, I had lunch with Mom. Afterwards, I wrote some of Thursday's daily update. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found no one to talk to, so I did some paperwork until Kitten said hi. We teamed up with me on a lowbie winged cat character and ran some missions. Pierogies joined us in one, and we finished the mission. Then we explored a base Kitten is familiar with together until Pierogies heard a costume contest was on. We went to that, and Pierogies entered. He didn't win, though I thought his costume was very nice. Kitten went quiet during the contest, but Pierogies and I did one last mission before I left to read to Mom. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished Thursday's daily update and played a little Cross Stitch World. Then I began this daily update, both writing and notes. After that, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I saw Divi and said hi. Then I joined Phonso for the very end of a zombie apocalypse. The league that had fought it dispersed, and Phonso left. Then a non-Halloween themed raid started. I ended up running the team, then the league it turned into. After the raid, that dispersed, and I did some paperwork. Then I hunted for badges by myself before browsing the web. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming, and spotted Alex. We got together, and he toured my character's supergroup base. We visited as well and did a little light roleplaying. Then Alex left, and I began talking with my British friend on the chat server. I also did more paperwork and played by myself a bit in City of Heroes: Homecoming, all while I finished notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 10, 2024

 On Thursday, after breakfast, I contacted Uber. A driver came and took me to Life Care Center, where I had a physical therapy appointment. My physical therapy went well, with 15 minutes on a seated step machine with only one break, and walking exercises and salsa dancing in the harness downstairs. I'm unlikely to hurt myself falling when the harness will catch me. Afterwards, I contacted Uber, and another driver came and took me home. I think he was chattier than the one who took me over. {Smile}

After lunch, I got a call from my doctor's office. They asked about my tests, which they hadn't received results from. No, I forgot to take them. However, I had a couple of problems to talk to the doctor about: a condition and a problem I have that the therapist can help me with if my doctor sends the right prescriptions. So, we kept the appointment for that.

That reminded me about phone called, so I called my financial advisor next. I got her and had the talk I needed. It was encouraging, and very much a relief. {SMILE}

I ate lunch and dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was resting when I went in again. I think she roused enough to enjoy the pictures. I began with scripture and thoughts about it first. Then I read a Christmas letter from a friend. Next, I restarted _Babies & Toddlers Happy Book_ and was encouraged to see her looking at the pictures. After that, I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I finished with October 10th's story, "Hungry Rusty!" in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

All my exercise was at physical therapy; I didn't need more after that. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed the web before going to physical therapy. When I cam back, I had lunch with Mom. After that, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming but didn't find anyone around who I particularly like to team up with. So, I started with paperwork, then played by myself for a while. Then I noticed some folks advertising the later long, large-group event. I switched to a character who is short of the rewards that give, and trick-or-treated while I waited for them to start. We ran with fewer than usual, which is probably why the fight with the boss was so long, but we got him finally. I talked with Dennis a bit during it, too. Afterwards, I joined Dennis for a quick mission I had, and he needed. After that, I left to read to Mom. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up the rest of Wednesday's daily update. Then I played a little Cross Stitch World. Next, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I talked with Ulty, Jenny's player, Divi, and Phonso. I joined Phonso in watching a trick-or-treat league, and ended up joining the trick-or-treat after a while. Then a zombie apocalypse happened in the zone we were in, which is what Phonso had been waiting for. I joined him, but the rest of the team didn't join us. The insisted on staying where they'd been trick-or-treating. Phonso insisted on staying at the usual place folks gather for raids in the zone. Afterwards, Phonso left, frustrated. I had a brief talk with Nox on the chat server after that, but mainly did a little paperwork and a fair bit of solo badge hunting Until I found a giant monster. I got a small team, and we got the monster. Someone found another monster, and a team with some different members got that one. Then everyone left except one fellow. He found a high-level taskforce before he found another giant monster, so we ran that. When that was done, I want back to solo badge hunting. During much of this, I also had a long talk with my British friend. Then I wrote a little of this, made a lot of notes to write from the next day. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 9, 2024

On Wednesday, I called financial adviser's office. I got their answering machine, and left a message. Unfortunately, I remembered to try again just after they closed. I'll have to try another day. {smile}

I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was resting when I went in again. She didn't rouse much, but I think she enjoyed the stories. First, I began with scripture and thoughts about it. After that, I finished her niece's long family Christmas letter from 2022. Then I started _Babies & Toddlers Happy Book_. Next, I read a story from _Disney 3-Minute Bedtime Stories_. I finished with October 9th's story, "The Lost Ring," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

After playing City of Heroes: Homecoming much of the evening, I did my salsa dancing warmup. After a break, despite it being late, I tried more salsa dancing, but now I was dizzy enough, I had to stop. I did manage to get 9 1/4 minutes of salsa dancing. {Smile}

Over breakfast, I started browsing the web. Then I played some Cross Stitch World before I called financial adviser. Next, I cleaned myself up. After that came lunch and more Cross Stitch World. Then I did some web browsing and wrote much of Tuesday's daily update. Next, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I Found Div and Pierogies! I joined Div for trick-or-treat. (Yes, City of Heroes has a Halloween event that includes a kind of trick-or-treating.) Pierogies joined us after doing the early part of the early long, large-group event. Div's, Perogies's and my trick-or-treating involved catching up with each other, and learning how to find the farms Div designed in an adventure creator in the game. After a while, Div said goodnight and left. After that, Pierogies and I went to look up Div's farms. I snuck in finishing the writing of Tuesday's daily update, too. We tried one farm and were just finishing up when Dennis said hi. Pierogies and I started Div's other farm. Dennis joined us not long after we started, and greatly enjoyed the humor of it. That second farm ended just when I wanted to go read to Mom. {Smile}

After dinner, I shared Tuesday's daily update, played some Cross Stitch World, and read some comics before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. There, I found Pierogies again! We teamed up, and finished a story arc my character had already started. Then we said goodnight, and I worked on paperwork. After a while, I played some Cross Stitch World. Then I went back to City of Heroes: homecoming, where I found Alex. We talked, but he didn't want to delay my exercises, so I did the first set of salsa dancing. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming to play by myself for a bit. After that, I read some comics, browsed the web, and wrote more of this and made notes. {Smile}
