Daily Update March 14, 2025

On Friday, late in the morning, my main nurse took me to physical therapy. It was a good session. My main nurse met me out front afterwards and took me pretty much straight home in time for lunch. {Smile}

My exercise was my physical therapy today, and yes, they worked me pretty well. I think I did enough for a couple of days there. {Smile}

Between breakfast and physical therapy, I mainly had time to get ready to go. After lunch, I played Cross Stitch World and browsed on the web. Then I began writing up Thursday's daily update. This took longer than usual because some of it wasn't easy to write. I was still not quite finished when I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming late for me. I started with paperwork, then finished Thursday's daily update. I came back to see Dr. Faustus had just told me that the villain supergroup meeting had been called off, and he'd be back to help me with my character in my evening. So, I did some more paperwork until Pierogies and Kitten said hi. The three of us teamed up and did a mission and a hunt together before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read web comics and played Cross Stitch World before I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork and talked with Ulty and Jenny's Player. I joined them in some individual missions, along with a friend of theirs. Dr. Faustus joined us too. Then Ulty and Jenny's Player's friend left. A mission or two later, Ulty and Jenny's Player left. Remembering Dr. Faustus's promise to help my character in the villain supergroup, I switched to that character. We tried to run the next story she had that he'd mentioned helping me with earlier. However, the first mission jammed. We couldn't find a way to complete it, and we went all over it a few times looking. So, we tried again, but the same thing happened. even though we tried everything we could think of to complete it, and Dr. Faustus works with computers enough to think of a lot more ways that I did. We decided to get together another day and try it when we can get help if it jams again. To wind down, I played Cross Stitch World and read web comics. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming for some paperwork. I ran into an old friend who now streams on Twitch under the name Sonarr__ specifically at http://twitch.tv/Sonarr__   If you check them out, they ask that you mention that I sent you. They know me best as Anka, the first character of mine they met. They say their next stream will be Tuesday morning, 5am central. We chatted while I made notes and wrote in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 13, 2025

On Thursday, I had counselling after breakfast. It was going well when the nursing company secretary and nursing company owner came in. They said they didn't mean to interrupt and went to talk with my main nurse until I done. I guess. I think I told the secretary I had counselling at ten, but I guess they didn't realize it lasted an hour. {smile}

I met afterwards with the owner, the secretary, and a bit with my main nurse for a long talk. They didn't agree at all with my assessment that I could take over some chores which are all complimentary for 24-hour care/ They didn't want to discuss a shorter arrangement except to insist it's very premature and would court disaster. So, I'll just have to find some other solution. They do talk like this could end with me living independently. If that worked, that could solve just about everything, but I've needed help so long, it's hard to envision. Too often, folks help me for a while, then declare they've set me up to continue on by myself... so I try, and manage for a while, but less than two years later, it all comes crashing down, and I get to pick up the pieces without their help. Often, it's not even one year. {sigh}

After dinner, I did the ten walking exercises which don't require a break the next day. My nurse was satisfied with that. {Smile}

After the meeting, I immediately had lunch. Then I did some web browsing and began writing up Wednesday's daily update until I got ready to run some errands. The first stop was picking up two library books I'd ordered. Then my main nurse and I stopped at a couple of banks before we went back home. Then I wrote more of Wednesday's daily update. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I finished Wednesday's daily update, and Pierogies said hi. He and I chatted and ran a mission together. Then I got called to dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read a web comic and began making notes in this before I exercised. Then I wrote and made more notes in this before going into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork and prepared to solo on a couple of high-level characters. Then Phonso said hi, so I joined him instead. We ran the taskforce we had so much trouble with the night before, this time with a full team instead of just over half full. We handled the last battle much better. Afterwards, Phonso left, so I did some paperwork then ran a mission on each of the two high-level characters I'd been prepared to play earlier. Then I did more paperwork, read some web comics, and browsed on the web. After that, I ran a mission on the moderately low-level character I'd played with Pierogies before dinner. Then I finished notes in this around working on tests for my counselor. I also played Cross Stitch World and watched a video. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 12, 2025

On Wednesday, in the morning and early afternoon, I called the nursing company secretary a few times. I asked about rates if I take on the chores and/or have the housekeeper do them when we shift to hourly. I specifically asked for the rates with and without cooking dinner, because I'm wondering about my abilities to keep that going. She said she'd talk to the owner and get back to me. She was concerned about how I was feeling. I'm feeling fine. I'm just trying to figure out how to keep up the nursing without breaking my budget. I hoped I could do a bit more by taking back the household chores. I was also looking forward to feeling like I was accomplishing things with those chores. If I can lower my rates, too, so much the better for feeling accomplished. I put that in the past tense because things already make that look less feasible. {smile}

After dinner, I did two of the walking exercises that I need rest days after. Then I did my eight standing leg exercises, which need a similar rest. I finished with the other two walking exercises I'll need a rest day after. My main nurse is quite impressed. He thought he'd be pushing me to do more, but he thinks that was enough. {relieved Smile}

Around the phone calls I mainly played Cross Stitch World. I also browsed on the web a little pretty much up to lunch. After lunch I played more Cross Stitch World. Then I cleaned myself up with my main nurse's help. After the bath I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming later than I hoped. I started with paperwork. then joined the later long, large-group event, and ran it. We got done in time to do a bit more paperwork before dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I read web comics before I did my exercises. Then I wrote and made notes in this before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, and talking with Jenny's Player and Ulty. Then I broke to make more notes in this and read more web comics. Then I went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming for more paperwork. After that, I prepared to play by myself with the gal I thought was my 9th best badge collector, but I just discovered the pack caught up with her, so, she's part of the pack now. Before I really got going, Phonso invited me to a taskforce. The new friend I met and made long-term contact with recently joined too. I also talked a bit with Nox on the chat server. Phonso, my other friend and I, and a couple of others waited a long time for the taskforce to fill, but it was stuck at five members. Phonso eventually decided to go anyway. It was fine until the last big fight, but then we had more trouble. Then again, I've had a fuller team have more trouble and still pull through. We did eventually get it, which was quite satisfying when done. After that, Phonso left, and I talked with my new friend a bit. when she left, I did some paperwork, then broke to make more notes in this. Then I played by myself on a couple of high-level characters, pausing occasionally to make notes in this and browse the web.

Daily Update, March 11, 2025

On Tuesday my relief nurse and I went out for an errand around the middle of my morning. Then we came back home to get an envelope and went right back out to mail it, /after that, we came back for lunch. {Smile}

I didn't get any exercise in on Tuesday. I simply remembered too late. I'm disappointed in myself, though I can afford two or three days without exercise a week. Saturday needs to be one of them because I'm tired from physical therapy then. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed the web, then got ready to go do errands with my relief nurse. After we got home and had lunch, I wrote up Monday's update with breaks for Cross Stitch world and web browsing. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started with paperwork. I said hi to Kitten, Ulty and Jenny's player. Ulty and Jenny's player invited me to a low-level taskforce. I secured a spot for Kitten and let them know. Then I got the Hobbit in the teen group, and joined them, as kitten already had. I wasn't quite certain it was the Hobbit's meeting until we'd started, but I think it was. We ran the taskforce, and then we ran the sequel taskforce. We ended slightly late for dinner, but I warned the relief nurse, who adjusted as he could. I squeezed in a little badge collecting before going to still warm tacos. {Smile}

After dinner, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten, Ulty, and Jenny's Player together in a farm with some of Ulty's and Jenny's player's friends and joined them. Kitten left after one mission, saying they were tired. We did a few more missions before the team broke up. Then I did paperwork. I also talked with Nox on the chat server. Phonso invited me to a strike force. I stopped the paperwork to join him, and we ran it. Next, I a trial with him. Then I said goodnight to Phonso and Nox. I did some paperwork and badge collecting. Then I talked with someone on Discord and rushed to make notes in this before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 10, 2025

On Monday, when I was settling into City of Heroes: Homecoming to team with Kitten, the lights blinked, my computer and screen turned off on their own, and the battery backup started squealing an alarm. I figured out how to turn the battery backup off and on, but it didn't help. The alarm started up whenever I turned it back on, and nothing else would turn on. While I was figuring this out, the relief nurse complained that the Wi-Fi was out. So, I got him to take me down to Office Max, where I picked out another modest battery backup. {Smile}

Then we went back home, and the relief nurse removed the old battery backup and plugged in the new one. I plugged the rest of the stuff back into it myself, and things worked fine again after that. {Smile}

I walked around Office Max some to pick out and get that new battery backup. Then a while after dinner, I did my salsa dancing warmup set. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played Cross Stitch World a little. Then I wrote up Sunday's daily update. After that, I played more Cross Stitch World. I also read web comics and browsed on Amazon until lunch. After lunch, I talked with my relief nurse. Then I browsed the web until I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming, where I started with paperwork. Then I began to play by myself until Kitten said hi. We teamed up and were just starting to hunt and hoping to do a regular mission together when the internet went out. That prompted the trip to get a new battery backup. When we got back and I got set up and turned the computer back on, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Kitten was on a full team, so I played by myself and chatted with Kitten until dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I started making notes in this. Then I danced. Next, I chatted with Kitten on the chat server and made more notes and wrote in this. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started talking with Kitten while I worked on paperwork. Next, Kitten and I got together and ran a long, moderately low-level mission. After the mission they went quiet. They faded out just before Pierogies said hi. Pierogies and I ran the last mission in that story arc. During that mission, Phonso said hi, and invited me to do that new seasonal mission - last day this season, I believe. I said I'd finish the mission and that Pierogies planned to head to bed afterwards. Eventually I finished the mission. I meant to tell Phonso I was switching to join, but either I messed that up, or he missed it because he complained that I either shouldn't have left or should have said something. He'd filled the team in the meantime. I was disappointed and explained that I thought I'd said I was switching, but I do understand that it's bad to kick someone off to make room for another. I still moved to where he was working from, and a space opened up sooner than I expected. I joined him and ran the mission several times, getting all the badges, as did two of Phonso's, since he'd started earlier. Then Phonso left. I did some paperwork and made notes in this. Then I played by myself on the low-level character I'd played earlier, doing a talk-mission that followed what Kitten, Pierogies and I did. Next, I hunted some badges on her. After that, I made notes in this, and checked some characters to make sure their badges are accruing properly. I also read web comics and played Cross Stitch World. Then I did a mission by myself before finishing notes in this and talking to Kitten. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 9, 2025

On Sunday after breakfast, my main nurse took me to church. We paused because his daughter had mentioned wanting to come, but she'd since remembered a prior commitment. We got to church during the announcements and enjoyed the service. It was a little different because it's the beginning of Lent, the penitential season before Easter. {Smile}

Afterwards, I had lunch with my main nurse, Michelle, Auntie Barbara and some other parishioners. I forgot the nuts again; I'm trying to leave tin a spot where I'll actually remember them, since by my purse isn't working. Auntie Barbara returned three books and loaned me one, too. {Smile}

My main nurse and I stopped at Island naturals for a few things because second Sundays are customer appreciation day, when everything that isn't already on sale otherwise is 10% off. After that, he took me home. {Smile}

A while after dinner, I did most of my upper body exercises with my main nurse monitoring me. I started with my arm resistance exercises, followed by my standing arm weight training exercises, two of my sitting arm weight training exercises, my head exercises, and my other two sitting arm weight training exercises. Then I stopped, because I was a bit tired to do my arm swinging exercises right after all the rest, but my nurse was happy with how much I did. {Smile}

After we got home, I wrote up Saturday's daily update and began this daily update, with a pause for a small bit of Cross Stitch World. I played a little more Cross Stitch World afterwards, then went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork, then joined and ran a taskforce. Then I did more paperwork until Pierogies said hi. We chatted, then ran the later long, large-group event together. We talked more afterwards and did most of a story arc he'd begun. We almost finished it together in that all the regular missions done. He just had a talk to do. But it was dinner time, so i let him do the talk by himself. {Smile}

After dinner, I made notes in this, played a little Cross Stitch World, and browsed on Amazon before I did my exercises. Then I made notes and wrote in this and read web comics. Then I began talking with Nox on the chat server before even going into City of Heroes: Homecoming and starting on paperwork. I talked with Ulty and Jenny's Player and joined them for a mission. Then I switched characters to run another mission with them. Next, we said goodnight, and I worked on more paperwork until Phonso said hi. He invited me to do the new seasonal missions for badges. Yet another unranked badge collector of mine got the full set. Not two due to connectivity issues. I disconnected once and Phonso disconnected twice, the second time long enough, I and others teaming with us began to think he wasn't coming back. When the badge run was done, Phonso left, and I talked with another teammate for a long time. We even established long-term connections. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 8, 2025

 On Saturday, after breakfast, I played a lot more Cross Stitch World than I intended, but I was thinking a lot. I was mainly thinking about what I could write with an eye to working up to actually publishing. Yes, that means starting more modestly than a book. My counsellor's recent surveys helped me realize that for me it's particularly hard to actually decide to do it and follow through. So, I'm trying to work up to exactly that. {smile}

I didn't do any exercise, since it's the next day after physical therapy. Surely, I deserve a one-day break. {Smile}

Late in the morning, I began writing up Friday's daily update. I paused for lunch, during which I read web comics. I got back to writing up Friday's daily update before lunch was quite done and finished Friday's daily update after lunch. Then I began making notes in this. Next, my main nurse helped me clean myself up. Then I watched a video before I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. Then I talked with Ulty and Jenny's player. They were getting ready for a taskforce with some friends, so I joined them on a high-level character, even though it wasn't a high-level taskforce. The game readily adjusts for that. We ran it not full, but it was a nice taskforce. Afterwards, the group broke up. I joined the later long, large-group event. I left before the end when I was called to dinner, but I got a lot of it, including the most lucrative game rewards. {Smile}

After dinner, I checked the chat server and watched a video before going back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork and chatted a little with Ulty and Jenny's Player. then I did another taskforce with them and some of their friends on the same character as before dinner. Afterwards, we chatted a fair while. I also began chatting with Nox on the chat server, too. Then we did a second taskforce with friends of theirs. After that, we talked more. Then joined a farm Jenny's Player decided to run. I did a little paperwork during the farm, since it had piled up too much. I did a lot more paperwork after it broke up. I also made notes in this over the latter part of the day a little at a time to keep it from building up. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 7, 2025

On Friday, in the late morning, my main nurse took me to physical therapy. It went particularly well. My time on the machine is back to where it was before I got sick. I also did more exercises in the harness, including some salsa dancing that impressed my main nurse when he walked in on it after he finished errands.

I got a phone call from Auntie Barbara in the evening. It was nice to catch up with her. We plan to meet at church. {Smile}

My exercise was my physical therapy today. It was enough to make me tired and hungry, so I really shouldn't need more. {Smile}

I browsed web articles before physical therapy. When I got home, I had lunch, during which I played Cross Stitch World and browsed more web articles. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with extended paperwork because I spotted no one I particularly like to team with, plus Friday is a good day to do paperwork that's best done over a weekend. As I was winding down, Dr. Faustus said hi. I joined him for the meeting of the villain supergroup I'm in. Two others came too. The four of us did a flashback of a story arc I'd outlevelled but still wanted to do. I was touched they did that for me. That took me close enough to dinner, I just double-checked the paperwork and chatted with Jenny's Player a little while I waited to be called for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner, I made notes and wrote in this with a break for reading web comics. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. Then I began playing by myself on a low-level character. Next, Pierogies joined me. We teamed up for a regular mission and a couple of hunts, and I got Auntie Barbara's phone call. Dennis joined us too. We three chatted. Then we did a regular mission and chatted some more. After that, Pierogies left. Dennis and I played frisbee with a stranger who had a frisbee and chatted a little more before Dennis left, too. Then I did some more paperwork until Phonso invited me to do the new seasonal missions. I joined him and got all the badges on two more unranked badge collectors, though I feared I wasn't getting closer to one, it turned out I was watching the wrong badge. After he left, I did more paperwork. Next, I played Cross Stitch World and watched some videos before finishing my notes in this and squeezing in a little more paperwork in City of Heroes: Homecoming. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 6, 2025

On Thursday, my video counselling started at the end of breakfast. My counselor started by helping me finish filling out the form I mostly filled out the night before. Then we went on to other things. I thought it was a good session. {Smile}

I also did some real-life paperwork before and after lunch, and a little more after dinner. {Smile}

I did ten of my walking exercises while my main nurse monitored me after dinner. I skipped the four where I walking with my knees going high with each step. I'm planning to do them in the future on the days I do my standing leg exercises, since I think both need breaks the day after. {Smile}

After counselling and real-life paperwork, I played Cross Stitch World through lunch. pausing to do more real-life paperwork before playing some more Cross Stitch World. It still doesn't feel as productive as it used to, but it's good when I want to think, which I was doing a fair bit of. It lets me be not completely idle while thinking, which is nice for longer sessions. Then I read web comics and articles on the web before I wrote up Tuesday's daily update. After that, I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started on paperwork. Then Kitten said mew, so I joined them and Pierogies in checking out a non-combat area in the game. Then I did a hunt, during which Pierogies disconnected, not long after mentioning that his recent computer trouble is still not fully solved, so that's probably why. Kitten and I did another hunt and a couple of regular missions after that. That took me right up to dinner time. {Smile}

After dinner, I played Cross Stitch World and began making notes in this. Then I did my walking exercises before I made more notes and wrote in this. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming and started with paperwork. I talked with Ulty and Jenny's Player and joined them in a farm for a few missions until Jenny's player left, ending the farm. then I did more paperwork until Phonso invited me to do the seasonal missions again. Two more of my unranked badge collectors got a full set of badges for that, including one who's not quite as high level as everyone I'd done so far. After that, I did more paperwork. Then I played some Cross Stitch World, browsed the web, and finished making notes in this. {Smile}

Daily Update, March 5, 2025

On Wednesday, in the late morning, my main nurse took me to my podiatrist. Except my podiatrist had moved. There was a note on his old door with this new address, so we went to that building, but couldn't find his new office. My main nurse wanted me to look on the web, but when I only found his old address that way. So, I called his office, and they gave me his new room number. Then it was easy to walk there; we even happened to be on the right floor. {Smile}

The appointment itself went weel, if uneventfully. My diabetic neuropathy isn't preventing me from feeling with the soles of my feet, and my toenails are now nicely trimmed. Afterwards, my main nurse took me home. {Smile}

After dinner, I did a bit of real-life paperwork that had arrived today. It looked both too easy, and too important to let wait. A while before bed, I filled out a form from my counsellor to help with diagnosis of my conditions in hopes it helps with applying for disability. {Smile}

I walked around a bit while we were out, finding the podiatrist. Then I did my salsa dancing warmup set a while after dinner while my main nurse monitored me. That was eight and a half minutes of salsa dancing on top of the walking. {Smile}

After breakfast, I browsed the web, especially web comics, until it was time to go to the podiatrist. After I came back, I had lunch, played Cross Stitch World, read web comics and watched a couple of videos before I wrote up Tuesday's daily update. Then I cleaned myself up with the help on my main nurse. Only after that did I go into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I started with paperwork. then Kitten said hi, and so did Ulty. The latter invited me to a taskforce she and Jenny's player were doing with some friends. I joined, and secured a spot for Kitten, too. We ran it. Then Ulty wanted to run another taskforce. Jenny's Player and I switched characters for it, but Kitten seemed to doze off or something. So, we ran it without them and got done just in time for dinner. {Smile}

After dinner and the real-life paperwork, I finished watching a video I'd started earlier. Then I started writing and making notes in this. Next, I did my salsa dancing warmup set while my main nurse monitored me. After that, I read web comics and began chatting with Nox and Haiden on the chat server. Then I went into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I chatted with Ulty and Jenny's Player as I worked on paperwork. Then I began hunting on a low-level character. Pierogies joined me, then Kitten joined me, too. After a hunt or two, we began running regular missions. Then we got into a story arc, running one all the way through, and the sequel part way. Then I paused to take the survey for my counselor. Not long after that, I disconnected form the game, and most of the rest of the internet, too. It took a while for my internet to come back When it did, I said goodnight to Kitten and made more notes and wrote in this. {Smile}
