Daily Update, November 3, 2024

After breakfast, I contacted Uber. The driver they connected me to was 14 minutes away, so I was glad I'd called earlier He came and took me to church, and I still got there during the announcements. The service was pretty nice, though I sat alone. {Smile}

I had lunch with friends, including Auntie Barbara, on the lanai. Then I went home with Auntie Barbara, who was taking two others home, but mine was the first stop. She came in to visit Mom, and we sang with her: parts of three songs. {Smile}

I ate dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was a little groggy when I went in. I was late again, I fear. Mom wasn't always looking at the pictures this time, but I think she was listening even when she had her eyes closed. She did enjoy some of the pictures of kids. I started with scripture and thoughts about it first. Then I read a Christmas card from a friend. Next, I showed her pictures in _The Picture book of Babies_. After that, I read a story from _Richard Scarry's 5-Minute Stories_. I ended with November 3rd's story, "Little Fox Cub," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

I did my standing arm weight training while waiting for Uber to come take me to church because they were uncommonly far away. Then I did my arm swinging exercises between reading to Mom and eating dinner. After starting to write this up after playing on City of Heroes: Homecoming, I did my arm resistance exercises, followed by eight of my fourteen walking exercises and my head exercises. After a break, I did my other six walking exercises.

After I got back from church, I checked City of Heroes: Homecoming. I did some paperwork no one I usually team with was there. So, I left to play Vindictus for a while, then went back to City of Heroes: Homecoming. I still found no one in the game, but Pierogies and Kitten were talking about character names on the chat server. Since a whole bunch became available yesterday, folks are snapping up ones they particularly want. Pierogies helped me get the name Water Cat. I made a character and got it into the tutorial. There, I noticed someone asking if anyone wanted to team up to pool efforts to get the one badge inside the tutorial. I did, and we both got it. Then I ran the tutorial proper and began setting up the character. Next, Dennis said hi, so I picked a good stopping place and switched characters to team up with Dennis and his best friend for a mission. It stretched a little longer than I hoped, making me late to read to Mom. {smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Saturday's daily update, with breaks to read comics and play Cross Stitch World. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Dennis, who was impressed with how early I got in, though I could have been quicker yet. We teamed up, and I joined him in a mission. He disconnected before the end. While I waited for him to come back, I saw someone asking if folks wanted to do a taskforce. I said I would if my friend didn't come back. Dennis did come back while we were waited, then promptly disconnected again. He told me he had on the chat server while his character was standing unresponsive right in front of me in the game. He got back online just in time to join the taskforce and did. We both switched to high-level characters, since we were both too low-level for this particular taskforce. Then we ran the taskforce. I got three badges, before the taskforce failed at the beginning of the last battle. So, I didn't get the final badge on this character that time. This isn't the first time I've seen that taskforce fail; it's one of the hardest in the game, if not the hardest. It was too late to run again. I waited while Dennis joined a supergroup. Then we said goodnight. I did some paperwork and began to write this up. Then I started my exercises, with writing, making notes, and City of Heroes: Homecoming paperwork in the break, and more writing and notes afterwards, along with a peek at Vindictus and some web browsing. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 2, 2024

I stayed home on Saturday. I mostly took it easy, but I did get some texts from our housekeeper. She sent them in the morning, but I found them shortly before reading to Mom before dinner. Our housekeeper hurt her ankle, and meant to tell me weeks ago, but the text only came through today, along with a second explaining. She plans to come next week, hopefully Tuesday. {Smile}

I ate breakfast and dinner with Mom and read to her before dinner. Mom was awake when I went in again, and I don't think I was as late this time. Mom kept her eyes open and looked at all the pictures again, especially the ones of kids, but not only them. First, I started with scripture and thoughts about it. Next, I read Christmas cards from her nephew and cousin. After that, I showed her pictures in _The Picture book of Babies_. Then I read a story from _Richard Scarry's 5-Minute Stories_. I finished with November 2nd's story, "The New Lodger," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

I didn't do any exercise, since it was the day after physical therapy. I figured I was still tired from that. {Smile}

After breakfast, I played Vindictus most of the morning. Then I started writing up Friday's daily update over lunch. After lunch, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I didn't find anyone I particularly like to team with, so I left to clean myself up. After that, I went back into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Pierogies, but he told me about a personal emergency of his and left. No one else was around who I particularly like to team with, so I worked on my lowest level villain until I got bored of that. Then I spotted Ulty and Jenny's player and joined them for some bar roleplaying. with a break to admire some characters a friend of their had gotten, since many names finally became available that day. After that, I tried to join the late short, large-group event, but they were full. So went back to roleplay with Ulty and Jenny's player until it was time to read to Mom. {Smile}

After dinner, I finished writing up Friday's daily update with breaks for playing Cross Stitch World and reading comics. Then I began this daily update before I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found my German friend, Alex, and we teamed up. He asked about the character I was playing when we met on, so I got her out, and we ran a couple of my missions and one of his before Alex left. Then Pierogies came on. He really wanted to talk, so we got together in his base. Dennis said hi while we were there. When Pierogies and I finished talking, Pierogies left. I joined Dennis for a hunt followed by badge collecting for him. We met up with Pierogies, who came back on when he couldn't sleep.  Then Dennis left, and Pierogies and I ran a mission. After that, I left to make notes in this before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, November 1. 2024

On Friday, I contacted Uber, and a nice, chatty fellow took me to physical therapy. The day after Halloween he was already full of plans for Thanksgiving. Physical therapy went well. they got the order from my doctor this time, so we started the new kinds of physical therapy this week. A lot of it is different postures and such that I need to maintain more. Afterwards, I contacted Uber and a different driver took me home. {Smile}

I ate breakfast, lunch and dinner with Mom and read to her before dinner. Mom was awake when I went in again, even though I was late again. Mom kept her eyes open and looked at all the pictures again, especially the ones of kids. I started with scripture and thoughts about it first. Then I read a Christmas cards from her cousin and niece. Next, I started showing her pictures in _the Picture book of Babies_. After that, I read a story from _Richard Scarry's 5-Minute Stories_. I ended with November 1st's story, "The Pancakes," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

Physical therapy was my exercise on Friday, though I started doing the new, everyday stuff. {Smile}

Between breakfast and physical therapy, I played Vindictus. Then after lunch, I played more Vindictus. After that, I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. Ulty and Jenny's player invited me to a trial just before Pierogies said hi. I tried to get Pierogies invited. Ulty meant to invite them, but filled the team thinking somebody else was him. Pierogies and I promised to get together afterwards, so I ran the trial. But when it was over, Pierogies was gone. I found out later that he was tired and left early. I ended up joining the late long, large-group event. Then I got together with Dennis. We did a mission or two before I left to read to Mom. {Smile}

After dinner, I wrote up Thursday's update, with breaks for comics reading and CSW. Then I hopped into City of heroes: Homecoming. I didn't see anyone I particularly like to get together with, so I started on paperwork. Next, Dennis came in asking where everyone was. I told him I didn't know. We teamed up and did some of Dennis's missions. After a few missions Phonso joined us. We did more missions; Phonso felt it was too late for the trial he'd wondered about earlier. I said goodnight to Nox on the chat server, having missed talking with them. Then Dennis and Phonso left, and I did some paperwork. Then I played Vindictus before writing a little in this and making a lot of notes before bed. {Smile}

Daily Update, October 31, 2024

Thursday was Halloween, so I hope everyone had a happy Halloween! That is, if you celebrate it. If not, I hope you had a nice day. {SMILE}

After breakfast, I had a video counselling session. I thought it went pretty well. {Smile}

I ate lunch and dinner with Mom and read to her before that. Mom was awake when I went in again, even though I was late enough, the relief nurse came and talked to me. Mom kept her eyes open and looked at all the pictures, especially the ones of kids. I began with scripture and thoughts about it first. After that, I read a Valentine's card from one of her sisters, a Christmas card from her other sister, and a story about spiders and Christmas. Then I showed her the rest of the pictures in _Babies & Toddlers Happy Book_. Next, I read a story from _Richard Scarry's 5-Minute Stories_. I finished with October 31st's story, "Animal Quiz," in _366 Stories for Bedtime_. {Smile}

My only exercise was dancing my salsa dancing warmup set after City of Heroes: Homecoming much of the evening. I hoped to do more, but by the time I was done cleaning myself up, it was too late, and I was too tired. I will try to do better. {sigh, rueful smile}

After counselling, I played Vindictus right up to lunch and again afterwards, into the afternoon. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. I found Kitten in early long, large group event. I also spotted Dr. Faustus. I asked about a special supergroup Halloween meeting I thought he'd mentioned they'd planned. He and I were the only ones who showed up. We caught a taskforce together. Then we got together with Dennis and his best friend and ran the four-person Halloween trial. After that, Kitten joined us. We ran Halloween special missions until Dennis's friend left us. Then we ran another Halloween trial. I was late going to read to Mom after that. {smile}

After dinner, I read comics. Then I began writing and making notes in this. After that, I wrote up Wednesday's daily update. Yes, afterwards. Then I hopped into City of Heroes: Homecoming. There, I found Kitten. While we were teaming up, Phonso invited us to a taskforce. We ran it with him. Phonso chose a strike force next. Dennis came in and joined us in time to run it with us. Afterwards, Phonso left. Dennis, Kitten and I started running Halloween missions together. Then we switched to regular missions. I also talked to Nox on chat server a bit. Then we said goodnight to Dennis. I left to dance, myself. Then I cleaned myself up. It was too late for dancing after that, so I wrote and made notes in this with a break for web browsing. {smile}
